The service at this specific restaurant is horrible. After my fiancé and I were seated, we sat for more than ten minutes watching servers walk past us without any acknowledgement. My fiancé even caught the eye of the manager a few times without any concern from her. After more than 10 minutes of being ignored, we went to the front and asked for the manager. After informing her what had happened and that we were leaving, her only response to us was, «um, okay.» If you could give less than zero stars then this restaurant would get it. Unfortunately, this has happened to my fiancé before at this same site but we decided to give it another chance. Bad decision on our end.

this place is gross. I don’t know who liked the salad bar there, but the time I went, the lettuce was slimey, the tomatoes were soggy, and it was a mess. Why would you ever eat at this place? And it’s pricey for how crappy it is.

I came here for a lunch mid-day and it was relatively empty except for a handful of diners. The hostess and server were quick to seat us and my group sat at a booth near the back. Our server was perfunctory in taking our orders and answering a question or two. I thought she seemed efficient enough but also a bit preoccupied. The food came within a reasonable amount of time and the quality was decent. I ordered salmon with vegetables and fries. Good, but nothing to write home about. In some sense the food lacked any further level of descriptors beyond decent. I was neither under or overwhelmed with my experience.

Haven’t been in this Ruby Tuesday in Charlottesville for a while, it has definitely gone downhill. I’ve most recently been in the Ruby Tuesday in Ashland. No comparison, Charlottesville was dirty, the service marginal, and the food was mediocre at best. We arrived around 7:30pm were seated promptly, after walking us past 4 uncleared tables, an a mess of empty sweetener packages all over the floor, we noticed the salad bar was decimated, like they had a whirlwind of customers, but they either couldn’t or wouldn’t restock it. My fiancé ordered the 3 vegetables with salad bar, I ordered the 3 mini burgers with the salad bar, and we both had iced tea. We went back to the salad bar it hadn’t been restocked came to the table and the 4 cheddar biscuits rolls were there, shortly after our order came out my order was complete however my girlfriend who had ordered squash green beans and a baked potato only got the squash and green beans because they had no more potatoes cooked, according to the server the one potato they put on her plate was unacceptable to him and he rejected it and it would be 35 to 40 minutes before we could get another potato. My girlfriend opted for the steamed asparagus, 15 minutes later the steamed asparagus came out but it was overcooked and extremely bitter, we complained to the waiter and he said that they were having problems in the kitchen and he was upset with the cooks. There was no manager on duty, I’ve never experienced a Ruby Tuesday like this and especially in a college town, I guess if I want a good Ruby Tuesday I’ll have to continue to visit the one in Ashland Virginia.

Two stars, the wait staff was pleasant. Date & I only had Classic Cheeseburgers with fries. For a $ 10 each burger I was expecting more. They skimped on the lettuce, Tomato and onion. Frankly I’ve had better burgers at Burger King for half the price. Sorry to be negative, but it really was a disappointment.

For having the right expectations of this type of restaurant – I’ve and always been served good food and had fast service. In my opinion, salad bar is a must every single time.

The worst service and worst attitudes of any Ruby Tuesday location I’ve been to. Do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs.

I’m not a Ruby Tuesday fan, but this is where we had a staff lunch, so I went for a second staff lunch in about three years. I remembered how long it took the first time, and this second time was just as bad. We were a large group of 11 today, and our tables were divided into 8 and 3. I was at the table of 3, and it still took an hour to get my food, and another 20 minutes to get a slice of cheesecake to go. The food isn’t great, and the service is worse. Why give a group of 11 a server who seemed to be in training? Don’t go unless you like mediocre food at best and have a lot of patience. Sheesh.

If you haven’t been here in the last month, you should give it another try. They recently had a menu change and have added some great items. It’s a quiet hideout for happy hour. They have a great happy hour from 4 – 6 that includes $ 5 appetizers! The bar here is great. Usually pretty quiet, but they have TVs to watch sport games or whatever. The bartenders, Will and Jen, are great and will ensure you’re taken care of with food AND drinks. This place is also very clean. If a server’s section is not busy, they are cleaning. It’s a great, clean, quiet atmosphere. One downside is they close at 11. This is understandable since they are also a restaurant, so if you want to stay at a place later, there are other places within walking distance after they close. Very underrated place that’s undergone changes you should definitely checkout.

I really don’t feel like my family is picky eaters but maybe we are compared to the other reviews for Ruby Tuesday. I had heard from one of my sisters that RT has gone«down hill» but until tonight it had been two years since I had last eaten here(at least that I can remember) so I figured I would wait until I had tried it myself to decide. I ate here on a Saturday evening with my mother because she had a gift card for RT that she got for Christmas and wanted to treat me to dinner, There was a short wait which was to be expected on a Saturday night especially in Barracks Road Shopping Center. My mother ordered a steak and I ordered a chicken BLT with fries. I forgot her exact words were about the steak but I know she wasn’t satisfied with it. The chicken wasn’t very good. I guess I just didn’t expect it to be crunchy and it was and just didn’t seem like a good combination with a BLT. The fries were okay. When I was younger I remember coming to RT and the salad bar always looking good. It looked pretty decent and we both added it on to our meal for $ 2.99. We went one time and didn’t go back. I don’t know what my mother’s reason was but my mine was because the salad did not taste very good. I don’t know if it was the lettuce or toppings/dressing I put on top but this was perhaps the worst salad I’ve ever had. Not even a huge selection of toppings for your salad. The waitress was very friendly but apparently forgot that I ordered Root Beer to drink and kept bringing Pibb instead. I drink Pibb so it was no big deal but the brand of Root Beer they have there, Barq’s, is my favorite so when I see a place has it I almost always get it. In addition to great service the little garlic cheese biscuits they give you now were very good but TOOSMALL!!! And I didn’t get why a table of two only got three. I thought it should have been at least four(2 for each of us). I will not be returning here again unless I hear from several people that the food has gotten better. I left here hungry and disappointed. At least our section of the restaurant seemed too dark and the menu didn’t seem to have a lot to offer.

Had to have a quick meal with the family tonight and we decided to go to Ruby Tuesdays. We’ve found that of all the fast food restaurants like this one, they have the best choices for us and the kids. I feel like they actually cook their food and not just microwave it. We also just spent the last 20 minutes talking to the manager, just to talk. He’s amazing! Had a great talk. Thanks Chris! I say to anyone who needs a quick meal and you have kids, hit the Ruby Tuesdays and ask to speak with Chis, the manager. Ask him about healthy eating, he’s a wealth of knowledge!

I’m only giving it three stars because while the salad bar was delightful and very popular, thus making the items fresh and constantly replensihed, my entrée of the petite steak and lobster mac and cheese with a side of onion rings was horrendous. The steak was so salty, way too overseasoned. The lobster was not fresh, and the mac and cheese left a pungent, gross after taste in my mouth. The onion rings weren’t bad but they could have been removed from the fryer a few minutes earlier. While waiting to get seated though, boyfriend and I sat at the bar. I thought the bartender was very attentive and generous. He personally made a cherry coke for me and topped it off before we were seated at the table. He told me to tell the server it was on him. He also offered us menus and acknowledged we were waiting for a table but wanted to give us another option too.

Oh my gosh… my husband and I took his mother here for lunch this weekend and while the food was good the way the employees acted was astonishing to say the least. We were sitting only a couple of feet away from the kitchen doors and what was going on SHOCKED me. One of the chefs and the wait staff were fighting right infront of us during our entire meal. The chef would come out and start yelling at the wait staff to wrap silverware and stock cups, he was yelling and throwing stuff around the kitchen! Then the wait staff would come out and very loudly gossip about how much of a jerk he is and how they weren’t going to help him and blah blah. They were fighting over this cart with dishes on it right infront of us. THEN! The chef threw, he THREW a dish with food on it out of the kitchen door into the restaurant and it landed right near our table! And instead of picking it up the wait staff just kept walking around it!!! This went on during our entire meal, we watched everything! I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing! These people acted like there was no one in the restaurant, they were just fighting and yelling and throwing stuff, and talking like it was empty in there and it definitely was NOT empty. After paying the bill I was furious that we just had to watch that and then pay for that place to employ people like that. Someone needs to do something about that staff because it was ridiculous how they acted and because of that I will NEVER return there again.

I stopped in here with a friend after some other shopping. I’m not usually a fan of chain restaurants but Ruby Tuesday seems to be a bit better than the others I’ve tried, and it was my best compromise to avoid Chili’s. It was a Saturday afternoon and they weren’t very busy but it still took a few minutes to be seated. After that, it took another 5 minutes before we saw our server… not a great start. I ordered a burger and my friend ordered the blackened talapia. There burgers are actually pretty good. They offer a choice of cooking doneness and enough variety to satisfy most people’s burger preferences. I’m a fan of the bacon cheeseburger cooked medium rare, which came out just as ordered. The server earned some points back by bringing the ketchup and mustard before the food arrived. I asked for a little mayo and had it in a quick minute. It was a hot and juicy burger with some decent flavor. My friend’s talapia looked good though he had a strange allergic reaction afterwards. Apparently this meal helped him confirm his suspicion of his allergy. Anyway, this wasn’t any fault of RT. The beer was cold, the burger was hot. Two requirements that were successfully met. I’ll keep them on my list as a decent chain restaurant.

I have to second the reviewer a few spots below me — Ruby Tuesday’s salad bar is probably one of the few reasons I venture out into the culinary wasteland known as Barracks Plaza. There aren’t the most options and the croutons run out quickly, but it makes for a solid, cheap(comes with complimentary garlic biscuits that I eat three of and feel guilty for the rest of the day), and pretty delicious meal. Service is consistently friendly — it’s a nice place to take a date or your parents. I must say, Ruby Tuesday’s massive overhaul of their image as more upscale sit-down restaurant has paid off.

I have eaten late night at this restaurant a few times in the last few months and found it to be very consistent. It is open to 11 pm here and most other places are closed by 10pm or earlier and this is the main reason I was eating there. I was pleasantly surprise at the quality of my servers and the overall friendliness of the staff, especially when you know they are ready to go home. It took me a while to order because of the size of the menu and they were very helpful offering suggestion and even letting try a taste of wine before I order it. The wine list is not large just a few bottles, I had a Shiraz and it was very good I order a 6oz sirloin, with mac & cheese and sauteed green beans and got a size of fried shrimp on the side. I also order the salad bar. At 10:30 pm the salad bar was stocked and clean and everything looked fresh and tasted good. I like to make my own salad and there were plenty of ingredients to choose from and the plates are small so you don’t over eat, you can always go back for more if you like. There were lots of side salads like Waldorf, Potato, Broccoli and Pasta salad along with an assortment of vegetables to personalize your salad. My steak came out in a reasonable time, which gave me enough time to eat my salad and they also brought me little garlicky bite size biscuits(I didn’t care for these just a bit hard). My steak was cooked a perfect medium rare, my mac & cheese was hot and creamy and the green beans crisp and had a slight oriental type flavor to them. Everything was cooked perfectly, my shrimp were crispy and hot and quite delicious. I actually finished my whole dinner. I stopped for fuel and actually had a good meal. I am not the kind of person to eat in a chain restaurant and I was expecting mediocre food and service. I was pleasantly surprised on both food and service and this is not the first time at this restaurant. I would go back and not just late night. The place is also very clean, which is a big thing to me. It shows pride in your workplace. If I had a complaint the place is a bit chilly I kept my coat on through the whole meal

A greet place to eat, but a little more expensive than it’s worth. I enjoy the croutons at the salad bar!

Yeah, I know 5 stars seems a bit HIGH for a chain restaurant, but HEARMEOUT! Other than Sweet Tomatoes/Souplantation(which I miss SOO dearly — C’ville really should get one!) Ruby Tuesday is my GOTO destination for their amazing Garden(salad) Bar! So many fresh choices, at for 7.99 at lunch or 8.99 at dinner, you really cannot go wrong if you’re craving a BIG(square!) plate of premium veggies. It was my first visit to this destination on Barrack’s Road, but it won’t be my last. Convenient parking lot, friendly service — coupled with their super yummy fruit-infused iced teas, this is a great spot for a yummy meal. Even though my hubs teases me for raving on and on about my «rabbit food» I will continue to suggest RT when we are strapped for dinner ideas!

I will admit that I was at first very reluctant. Hell no I don’t want to eat a chain restaurant when we’re in a city with so many fine small eateries. Alas, I caved to my wifes pleas, and enjoyed the Boston Blue burger. BBQ sauce, crumbled blue cheese, onion ring, and frankly, pretty delicious. The most surprising deal of the night? Unlimited french fries? Now listen. Unlimited ****** is my language. I’m an eater(aren’t we all on Unilocal?), but I’ll be honest, after the burger, I couldn’t finish my french fries. They were delicious, but it was all too filling! So yes, chain restaurant was an excellent choice for us this night, and if you’re in the mood for a delicious burger, I’d try the boston blue.
