I tried here again with Unagi bowl. Got more disappointed :(their Unagi portion was too shy. It’s like you’re eating 2 piece of sushi with a lot of rice. I won’t go back anymore… I liked their service and atmosphere though.

Excellent to go meal. Taste pretty fresh Sushi, the combo meals are my family favorite.

Astonishingly good quality sushi in Clovis. The fish is fresh, service is fast and friendly, and prices are reasonable. I always opt for the Combo A; sunshine roll or rainbow roll with 4-piece nigiri. Be aware that this is not a full service restaurant. You order at the counter and take your food to a table. Interior is modern and clean. Parking is plentiful in the front. For exactly what it is, this concept is executed very well.

Sushi Express has a great variety of quick and easy sushi plates. They also have things like chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki, and salmon teriyaki. It was good and reasonable. Their rice was acceptable but nothing special. The quality of tuna was below standard. Kind of gummy and stringy. But not bad. Spicy inari was good. Spicy tuna roll was good but fell apart.

For my liking the fish wasn’t as fresh as other places in town. It’s a cool little stop and go sushi place with I’d say pricey menu. The quantities were ok, quality of fish was low but there presentation was good if you don’t mind the paper plates. If your craving a quick bite for a lunch or something try it if you have time check out the other sushi bars we have in town.

Good place. I love the options for the bento box. And i love the idea of having the option for dine in or to go. The food was good, and the price is very reasonable! The service was also good. The staff are very friendly. I think they have a great number of selections to choose from. I would definitely come back to this place!

The staff here is amazing. Super friendly and helpful. I love it. But the food falls short. The quality of fish is terrible. Recipe is good but I would get a new fish distributor.

Thought we’d give this place a try since the reviews were great… we were not disappointed. The bento box was tasty and you get so much food for only $ 10. I loved the salad that came with it. It was yummy and very refreshing. The food is displayed very beautifully and the restaurant is very clean and modern. The staff was very patient as they waited for us to figure out what we were going to order. They were also friendly and on top of everything. Definitely going back :)

Fanciest fast food ever. I liked the decoration of the restaurant, very modern and the way it’s so clean and neat made my dinner a great experience. As for food, I got a mixed bento with the choice of salmon and spicy shrimp inari, and it’s superb! The quality was amazing as well. The only complaint was it’s far from where I live lol will visit again for sure.

More than a decade ago, I came here in a conscious effort to try something new, and found a little family counter with freshly-prepared food and big smiles despite the owners’ difficulty with English. I fell in love with sushi the very first night(the spicy shrimp inari had a lot to do with that) and I’ve been a consumer of Japanese food in all forms ever since. I went again tonight for the first time in several years and I was amazed to see all the changes: new dining area, well-lit menus, and all the employees. What hasn’t changed is the food, including that flavorful spicy shrimp inari, even at the same low price from ten years ago. Great little spot, happy to come back.

This place is takeout style with an option to eat in. We were looking for sushi at 3pm on a Saturday and most places were in between lunch and dinner so they were closed. This was open and I had it bookmarked to try so we went! The staff was very patient and friendly as we checked out the menu. They had a nice waiting area with a couch and a coffee table as we discussed our game plan. We decided on 4 rolls with an order of edamame to start. The have real crab which I LOVED. I ordered the Fantasy roll with real crab instead of imitation. The flavors were really simple and fresh and the pieces were bite-sized as they should be. Too many places today make rolls too big that require two bites and fall apart, and have so many competing flavors in them that just don’t blend together well. Or they top it off with an overpowering spicy sauce and that’s all you taste. This place is more Japanese-style in my book than most(rolled sushi other than a cucumber or Natto roll was invented in California people). We will be back.

If you looking for an authentic sushi place, this is not the right place for you, but for those people who enjoys rolls and all that americanize style sushi, this place would work perfectly. And for what they advertise themselves to be, which is an express sushi to-go, this place deserves a 4 star for being quick, fresh and having decent americanize style sushi in an aesthetically beautiful store and for being perfectly sanitary. This place is basically like a Panda Express for sushi, which is great for a very casual dine in and a quick take out, but not for those of us looking for a hardcore sushi experience. They do have a creative array of the typical american styled sushi and also almost authentic sushi in their style like sashimi and nigiri. They also offer warm dishes like teriyaki bowls and noodles. To be honest, I find this place to be rather expensive for the type of sushi place they set themselves to be– which is a fast casual sushi place, because for a few dollars more, I could get an even better quality sushi at a restaurant like Kuni Sama. With that said Im not saying their quality is bad, it just feel that for the price I paid the quality wasn’t on par and the portion seems smaller than most. Their fish is pretty fresh, and the ingredients is of good quality I ordered the rainbow roll $ 9.85, and it came with 9 pieces of small round cuts that was dressed with tuna, yellow tail, shrimp, unagi and salmon. The fish was fresh, and tasted just fine, maybe not the highest quality grade, but it wasn’t rotten or anything like that. My only major complaint is the fact that the fish slices were too thin, and I hardly got to savor the fish, it felt more rice than anything else. I would appreciate thicker cuts of fish thats all Im saying, but overall I enjoyed the taste. My sister ordered the sushi bento for $ 9.95. The soup and salad was good, but to be honest for $ 10, the meal lacks portion and my sister left hungry, and she isn’t even a big eater, she is normal full with a small burger. The quality of the rolls that came with the meal is A-ok, nothing amazing, but just as I would expect from a place that calls themselves an express. My only suggestion is maybe for them to include more salad, or some kind of vegetable side dish, to make this dish even more filling. Overall this place isn’t bad for an express sushi, but if your looking for a real sushi experience this isn’t it.

The food is always nicely presented and all the food is enjoyable. The restaurant is clean and modern looking. The bento box is the best deal here. It comes with a ton of food for $ 10. It includes your choice of teriyaki meat over rice, salad, 4 California rolls, miso soup, and your choice of 2 nigiri or inari. I love coming here.

Okay I must say that this sushi place is my new OBSESSION. If you are on the lookout for quick service and delicious rolls this will be your new go to! The workers are also extremely sweet too & didn’t even seem to be annoyed with my countless questions about the place and all of its updates. It used to be a take out only sushi express, but they took down a wall from a place next door and now it’s both take out and sit down. The interior is very cute! And let’s talk about the rolls… OH I could go on for hours about how much I love their rolls. My favorite is the Fantasy Roll. I love this place so much I would pick it over any other sushi place in Fresno. 6 stars!

I wanted to like it… I tried really hard to like it… On the outside it looks awesome… clean, trendy, upbeat, and all the things we have come to expect from a really good sushi restaurant… there are a few issues though. I ordered my food to go as I was going to take it home and enjoy it with my darling boyfriend. I ordered the mini roll with tuna(I have such a small appetite) and the rainbow roll. It came out to about 15 bucks for both(not bad at all!). My drive home was about 5 minutes… if that. When I got home and tasted my mini roll it was warm temperature to luke warm… ah!!! I need my sushi to have a decent chill to it… I can’t eat warm sushi… The rainbow roll was really inconsistent in the way that it was cut… all the pieces were different sized and the fish was uneven. That being said the taste was awesome. I’ll try it one more time in the future and hopefully they improve and I can give a better review… like I said… I wanted to like this place.

Because it is SO cheap for mediocre quality sushi and fish, I give it 5 stars! Perfect place to go if you just want to grab a quick bite by yourself or take it to go or even as a broke college student, it’ll suffice your sushi craving temporarily for its super cheap prices. Surprisingly it’s laid out like a restaurant but it actually functions kind of like a fast food sushi place where you order and pay at the front. Hence, no need to add tip! Pros: –super big spacious place –very clean –super cheap for its quality so totally worth it –fast service –good quantity and quality for price –super nice and friendly staff –there’s a bar so you can watch them make the rolls Cons: –nothing really to complain about cause it’s so cheap!

Great prices, mediocre tasting food, good value. Came here for lunch and ordered a whole bunch of food to share. The rolls definitely had a lot of rice and very little fish and substance. The pork ramen was ok, the broth was tasty but luke warm. We also got the sashimi platter and the fish was of somewhat low quality and several pieces were stringy. The restaurant is cafeteria style, so you order from the counter then take your food and sit at one of the tables inside and eat. We ended up getting our food and sitting at Starbucks’ outside patio area and ate there. Easy and cheap. Clean bathrooms.

I’m writing this review based on my belief that they are succeeding at their mission. «Express Sushi» If you’re looking for decent quality sushi, fast, and for a good price, this is the place for you. On the other hand, if you’re looking for an authentic, dine in experience, i recommend Kijima. I dropped in, during a quick lunch break, and had the rainbow roll. Overall, i thought the quality of fish was a little above average(and at a lower price point), for Fresno. Wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, but will come by when i’m short on time and want a light, tasty lunch.

We found this place 5 yrs ago and loved their fast take out service for great sushi. We moved away for 4 yrs and had to wait 3 months before we could eat here again! It’s their grand reopening and it’s even better than we remembered. Love the ambiance of the newly improved and renovated Sashimi! The owners have always been friendly and go out if their way to make you feel like you’re a regular. They even have home made ramen! Yes home made ramen! I’m sorry I have to repeat… Home made ramen! Nuff said(whew)
