My negative review is based on this. Alrhough it was a holiday, fathers day, we were given a reservation for 715. We finally got seated at 8. Silverware was not clean. Soda was flat. We had five adults n one child. Waitress was never to be found. When bill came we were overcharged and a 20% gratuity was added i said that i wanted to tip at my own percentage and they said because of six people 20% was standard. Nowhere was that stated. Service was poor. Food was bland. Not worth the money or time.

My wife and another couple dined at this establishment a couple of weeks ago. This restaurant is basically a pizza place with tables. First off, do not order wine, you only get about 2 oz of wine in this huge glass for approximately $ 8. Also, always ask what the prices are for the specials. They are very expensive and do not even include a house salad. The appetizers are also very expensive and each guest only gets one serving(one stuffed mushroom). Dessert was also very expensive for what was served. I found the owner very full of himself when he stopped by our table to make sure that we will come back again. They have been in business for approximately one year and I seriously doubt that they will be around much longer. The total price for four quests including tip was $ 250 which is to expensive for what you got. All the servers were young kids that really did not know the trade at all.

Second time we’ve been here. Food and service are outstanding. Servers check on you often but not intrusive. Everything was fresh, prompt, and delicious. Reasonably priced for the quantity and quality.

Had a reservation and walked in to find NO tables. They admitted that they gave it away. Too bad. We love the food but they are off the list now. Service totally amateur

Re-visited over the weekend. Very pleased with the food. Pizzas are delicious, meatballs with ricotta are heavenly, homemade mozzarella pillowy and creamy. The wine pours are pretty generous. Garlic knots are pretty much perfect. The service still needs just a bit of help. We had three in our party and two dinners came out together while the third(a pizza) trailed about 15 minutes behind. The waitress first said it would be out in 2 minutes, but she was about 13 minutes off. She also didn’t come around that often to check our table to see if we needed more water, etc. But the food is quite good, so the service quirks won’t keep me away at this point. Would love to see the service brought up to 5-star.

We had lunch for first time. The food and service was excellent. We would like to go back for dinner. They seems serve different dishes for dinner. Which I love to try.

We went on a Thursday evening, 6 of us. I have to say everything we ordered was very good. Service was great, the chef/owner came out and answered a few questions we have, like changing a sauce. We started with baked clams(excellent), crab cake(excellent), a white pizza(very nice). Then various mains, wife had the fish special on the board. I saw a few people on here complain about the price $ 40, but this thing was huge easily could feed 2 people. Next time we’ll share that one. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we are all American/Italian from Brooklyn and been to Italy, so we know good from just ok. Focus on the sauce and they make a very nice marinara. For a small local place in Croton its defiantly a must try.

First time eating there. I have to say in the first 20 minutes I was not particularly impressed, especially when our meal came before our appetizer. I asked them to cancel the appetizer and the chef/owner(?) came over to confirm we were canceling it. I thought it was strange but thought he should have brought it over and comp’d it. I was a little annoyed but didn’t really let it bother me. About 15 minutes into our meal he brought it over and apologized and he also gave us each a homemade limoncello. My dish was really good. I had chicken parm. and my son had penne alla vodka and he said it was very good. My husband had linguine with white clam sauce and said it was good. We’ll give it another try.

So here is the reason for my negative review and negative experience at Eatalia. The seafood choices in this restaurant are menu priced from $ 20 — $ 26 with the most expensive entrée Zuppa de Pesche prices at $ 26. A member of my party ordered shrimp, calamari, and scallops over linguine off an unpriced specials board. This is almost always a trap in a restaurant to allow the restaurant to overcharge for for a meal. Shame on us when the bill came and we were charged $ 40 for a smallish plate of pasta with seafood. The dish was good according to my party member but at a fair value of perhaps $ 28. I asked to speak with the manager. I complained that the meal was grossly overpriced for both the seafood content of the dish(the rest was just linguine) as well as comparable pricing to other menu items on the regular menu. That type of pricing is pure«ambush pricing» and I lodged my complaint calling it what it was. The manager asked me «Are you done?» and proceeded to tell me about how expensive scallops had become(I defy him to prove that there was more than $ 4.00 worth of scallops in the dish or more than $ 6.00 worth of seafood in the entire dish. The manager objected to my choice of «ambush pricing» to describe his specials pricing. He reacted poorly and I would also say with aggressive rudeness. He took $ 5.00 off the dish. The manager came back a couple of minutes later with a somewhat softer tone and offered us complimentary limoncello which we did not want or accept. The details of the meal: Total bill for 4 people, $ 178.00 for 2 Apps, 4 Mains and a lower priced bottle of wine(a very nice Santa Ana Malbec 2014) plus tax. We left 20% + for tip if you are wondering. I had sauté salmon over spaghetti. It was very good as it has been in the past. The Tagliatelli bolognese was tasty although mostly devoid of meat and a very heavy dish. The Chicken Sorentino was bland, tasteless and not recommendable. The hot antipasto included two baked clams, one good, one inedible, hard, rubbery that I had to remove from my mouth and put back on the plate and highly iodine tasting shrimp, ok mussels and good eggplant rollatini. The meatball appetizer was also good but came with a big dollop of ricotta cheese that was unexpected. I post this without malice so diners can make their own decision. This is our third visit to this local restaurant so we are not regulars nor are we strangers. We have had better meals here. There is good and not so good here. IMHO the manager could have shown better customer service on his first visit to our table. Eatalia could choose to post pricing on the specials board as does another excellent Italian restaurant in Croton. I have tried to be fair, waiting fully until I was calm enough to recount this without emotion. I have read and re-read this review before posting to make sure it was commensurate with the experience of our latest meal there. I would welcome a comment from the management in response.

Ok, let’s cut to the chase-tho food was great, service outstanding, ambiance just right for a late night dinner with the mrs. We had the penne a la vodka and the chicken marsala, both servings were plentiful, enough for two people and took some pasta home. Had the meatball appetizer, tasty! A couple next to us ordered the calamari, it was a huge order and looked very appetizing as well. Truly a hidden gem, worth stopping in, this will be our regular spot for italian cuisine! In the area.

Took my fiancè here yesterday for dinner and I must say we had a great time! I know it’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a restaurant, but here we go! For starters we shared the fried calamari which was delicious! For our main courses my fiancè had the gnocchi Bolognese. Now I’ve had many a Bolognese in my time, but Damn, this is definitely top 3 Bolognese I’ve had in my life! As for me, I went off menu with their special, Seafood risotto and as someone who knows his way around risotto, this risotto didn’t fail to impress. The seafood, calamari & shrimp were cooked perfectly! Great job chef! However, the portions are big, so save half and leave room for dessert. We both had the tiramisu for dessert which was delicious as well. All in all a great experience with the food. SERVICE: let’s talk about their service. They were very polite and attentive, but a bit too attentive for my taste. They brought our check 2 bites into our dessert and then came back to see if we were ready with our check 2 bites later. But still everyone was very nice. A definite must visit for anyone looking for great Italian cooking! See you soon!

This is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is reminiscent of Authentic Italian Restaurant. The portions were generous and the«sauce» was exactly what you’d want(not acid, biting, salty, sweet, or heavy on the garlic) perfectly fresh and slowly cooked. Sammie’s meatballs were approved by 3 Italian girls who were apprehensive they would not be better then their Nonna’s. Make sure you finish it off with limoncello. Worth the train ride(.5mile from train station) from anywhere. Plenty of parking.

Best pizza in Westchester! Perfect ratio of tasty toppings to delicious crust. The pasta is also amazing. We have been eating at EATalia since it opened and we love the place!

Found this place after walking out of Pronto Pizzeria due to their total lack of customer service and taking advantage of customers who were planning on attending«The Blaze»(see my review). We arrived about 5ish and were promptly seated. Our Server was very nice and read off, what seemed to be a laundry list of specials. In the end, I ordered the Shrimp Parm, my wife the Penne with Vodka sauce and we also ordered a meat lovers pizza for the boys… Everything was very good, service was very quick and the only hiccup on this place is that it’s a bit expensive(16 for the penne with Vodka sauce is a bit high in my opinion). They also give you a nice selection on rolls and bread with your meal. Bottom line: Very good, great service and highly recommended!

Portions are huge and yummy!!! Stumbled on this place thru Unilocal and glad we did. Prices are a little high. I had a bowl of penne vodka $ 16. The sauce was excellent. They give you a nice basket of garlic knots and fresh baked bread with sun dried tomatoes and kalamata olives. Delicious. My sons shared a personal size meat pizza. It was quite large for a personal size. They should include salad with their dinners but overall very good food! Highly recommend for dinner before visiting the Blaze.

We loved the food. My daughter had the penne vodka, I had the brocollirabe and sausage and my wife had the steak. All came out delicious. The service was not great, waitress forgot our Appetizer. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she apologized, however, the waiter proceeded to come over and an ugly argument ensued between them. This made us very uncomfortable. What was more troubling, there was no manager to be seen. When I go to a restaurant, I expect a good meal and a good experience. Nothing was done to make up for the argument in front of our table. Will need to think twice before going back to this Establishment.

We were hungry and in that neck of the woods… so we stopped in for a mid-afternoon lunch, and were alone in the small dining room. The interior sports a small bar area and comfortable casual atmosphere. Bathroom was clean. There are a few tables on the patio, which unfortunately faces 9a and an empty weedy parking lot across the street. The village of Croton would do well to spruce this area up and support the businesses on the small stretch between the diner and the shopping center just south of here. We started with a salad — fresh and crisp and a bowl of just-made lentil soup. The soup was rich and flavorful, just a tad over salted. Our next course featured tagliatelle and a lightly creamed bolognese sauce. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the bolognese was deep, and thick enough to coat the pasta thoroughly and evenly. A five-star dish. The other choice was a Chicken Supreme sandwich — tender moist chicken with mushrooms onions and melted swiss — in a light flavorful sauce, on fresh toasted bread. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and will definitely be back. Clearly focused on fresh savory food…

The first visit to check out Eatalia was a dine-in experience several months ago(May 2015). The staff was brand new, the service was okay and the food was decent. They have a strange way of handling customer questions and requests. The attitude of the man I assume to be the owner is not exactly my idea of pleasant customer service. I shrugged it off. People I know seemed to like it. The food wasn’t bad, but have you ever been served fig pizza with the stems attached? Fast forward to August 25th, 2015. We called to order a 2-pie special from their online deals section. When my mother inquired about toppings with the full understanding that they would likely cost extra, she was told there was absolutely no way they could be added. Okay, fine– no problem. Order placed? Yep, see you in 10 minutes. Nope. The owner accused my mother of hanging up on him before he could«get her number.» What really happened: the phone call ended on the restaurant end and the pickup time had been confirmed. No caller ID, I guess. I was standing right there when she called and overheard the entire conversation. We sat at the bar while he cooked our two inflexible pies, no one even offered us a glass of water. Just plain inconsiderate. The pizza was okay. Nothing remarkable. I wouldn’t hesitate to nominate this manager for a reality TV rescue. Save yourself some frustration and call Capriccios.

We had an incredibly friendly waitress who was super accommodating to our allergies and needs. On the way our, the chef came out to thank us for our patronage. The food was delicious and authentic. A little pricy(16 dollars for pasta dishes and 28 for paella) but portions are more than generous… Lots of leftovers. I 100% recommend coming and I would eat here again.

Crust that will bring on tears of joy. Meats that melt in your mouth. Sauces from grandma Italy’s finest. Don’t let the location turn you off. The best in the area hands down. And if the chef likes you maybe you’ll be lucky enough to sample the home-made lemonchelo.
