After waiting 40 minutes for our food and hardly getting any attention from the waiter, my friend and I have been feeling completely sick after eating that sushi.

What a dump. I walked out without ordering. No one greeted me at the door. The menus look like they have been run through the dishwasher. The atmosphere is flat. The sushi chefs were more interested in looking at their phones than acknowledging me. I have to think the place is good because they had customers. I did not stick around. The«sushi on boat» moat was not even running. I think this place was probably nice at one time but no longer.

This place is a complete waste of time and deserves any shots fired at it. The rolls are the typical Texan fare. Tons of cream cheese and non traditional options. The staff here are all crap except for one guy who is usually always here and busting his ass off to try and cover the whole restaurant because the rest of the staff are useless. The service is slow and the rolls come to you way too slow. They park trays of rolls that are partially prepared from the back to the front where they sit forever to be cut by the guys in the floating sushi bar. The staff can’t get you the food and the sushi chefs can’t cut the food fast enough. Huge problem with this place. Let me start by saying sushi is about temperature and perfect execution. It is meant to be mastered and it requires more than just an average guy making it. The rolls I got here were consistently gross. They were not executed properly. Some break apart because they were not rolled properly. Other times I have had rolls not cut all the way through. Keep your knife sharp and true. Don’t roll with a hot hand and keep the ingredients chilled. Make sure you have binding and sticky rice for the rolls. If it is a deep fried roll I want it faster than sitting on your sushi bar for 20 minutes getting all nasty. The thick cut sashimi is a decent portion of fish. It is the one thing I thought was ok. It was still not a temperature that I found pleasing for huge bites of fish. Things like edamame should be coming first but that is not the case here. I have tried to get sake nigiri here some times and they don’t have any chilled. The plates here are not worth your time if you are thinking of side stepping the sushi. (If you work here or own the place. Do not bring your kids here. I don’t want to see them running around the sushi bar and hovering over the rolls waiting to be cut.) If anyone has any connections to the Army at Fort Bliss. Please have this place wiped off the map of the Earth.

This place was terrible. Aside from the attractive all male staff who were frequently distracted by the soccer game playing on the TVs, the food was lack luster and the«floating bar» is apparently rarely used. Over priced and awkwardly arranged, my husband and I won’t be back and we definitely won’t be recommending this place to our friends.

This place has gone down over the years, to much none authentic sushi dishes, the use to many jalapeño and cream cheese to hide their lack of effort to make authentic Japanese cuisine

I ordered takeout this last time I ate at okasuri, however this is the second time I have visited this restaurant. The rolls were okay; They we’re a good price for their size. This restaurant definitely added Mexican flare to all their dishes. The inside of the restaurant is nice and intimate. It was very quiet when I picked up my order, considering that it was a Saturday night. When I was paying the waiter seemed rushed and a little impolite even though there were only two tables occupied in the restaurant, maybe he had a bad day or something: p

We eat here often enough to say decent sushi and as long as it is not half price night, which brings in the local cheap people, service is good and food is good for El Paso. Note: Half price nights are way too noisy and brings way too many people with kids not under control. Spoils the evening’s. Will keep on comming back for relaxing evenings and good food.

So… I am Asian, and have the pleasure of eating sushi from Cali– to NYC. There is a strange infusion of Mexican flavors.(lots of salt, lime, chile and cilantro). While infusions can be amazing– this is an epic fail. Seafood is not fresh, nori is soft to much rice. Not a good bang for your buck! I will note that the staff was good.

Not really a Asian anything the concept is there but it taste like a Mexican chef has twisted with the safari of a Japanese sushi artist… The service was really good. About average on cost family of 5 was 82 bucks… For sushi it is a Little high but not horrible

Over priced, food was not edible. Waiter dropped hot soup on my back which caused a severe burn. They didn’t even care. No real apology. Manager had no clue. Go there at your own risk.

Where to start maybe the less than mediocre sushi, or the price for this«sushi» or that fact that I choose to go the day Mexico soccer is on TV! If it wasn’t for the entire staff and a group of guys screaming and yelling at the top of their lungs I probably could have tolerated the poor food! But when my drink was never filled and the pounding headache I received by the obnoxious fans, it made me notice just how terrible everything actually was! Bottom line I will not go back and discourage anyone I know from going as well!

I went often enough between the years 2007 – 2011 that I when went back last Fall I was still recognized by a waitress and sushi chef and waved to while I was waiting to pick up my order. How awesome is that? :) I usually take my food to go because the fumes from the nail salon next door make me lightheaded, but that is no reflection on the food. It is quite good and always seems to be specially made. I have never had anything but a positive experience there.

I really enjoy eating here. I am always seated quickly, my order is always brought out quickly, and my drink remains filled throughout the meal. I’ve been here a few times, always to catch their lunch special, and I’ve never been disappointed. I’ll keep going back. Great deals on good sushi.

I keep trying to give this place chance after chance. Today, I’ve had it. Ordered a take out order(two simple rolls) and was told it would take 25 minutes. Okay, no problem. Showed up to pick everything up 30 minutes later – to be ignored and smirked at by the wait staff. Still had to wait another 15 minutes for my order to be ready while there were only 3 busy tables in the restaurant. I understand things get busy, but there is absolutely NOEXCUSE for rudeness. This is a convenient neighborhood restaurant, but I will make the longer drive to go elsewhere from today on.

How can people eat in at this restaurant? The whole place smells like the nail salon shop beside it– it’s insane. The sushi is OK– they mostly put cream cheese in all the rolls and fry them to taste better. How do you justify paying $ 12 for a roll that is comprised of mostly cheese and rice with $ 1 worth of fish. Don’t waste your hard earned money here!

Food is not bad. But not great either. With all the Japanese sushi place in El Paso(I’m not even gonna compare this place to restaurants in California) it’s just so so. On top of that, I ordered fry rice and they gave me white rice. After I reminded them, I finally got my fry rice. But it tasted sub standard. Not worth the extra $ 1.50 for it.

NEVERGOHERE. I ordered a hot meal and my wife ordered sushi… so, my plate came first. I finished my meal and 20 min later my wife got her«sushi.» I put the sushi in quotes because it was half frozen goo inside of the messiest nori wrapped rice concoction I have ever seen. We both got ill after one bite and the staff didn’t reimburse us for their mess… never go here

Okay… so there are two things that you need to consider when you plan to visit this place. 1)The service here is S.L.O.W. I have not been in a restaurant that is that slow and at times it is quite mediocre– the staff or the logistics from this place seem to be not well organized, this causes a meal to go frustrating if you are in a rush. 2)The food is AMAZING… I have been here for more than 10 times and the food is as good as the first time. From time to time their avocado is «ok» but other than that it is a good place to dine in. You HAVE to consider the factors that the services is bad but the food is good. You will not regret going there with plenty of time and with a relaxed mood– TIP: Do not STRESS when your food is not there on time, it will eventually get there.

I’ll admit, the service wasn’t spectacular. But the food makes up for having to ask three waiters about your drink order. Seriously though, it’s bearable, assuming you’re not in a hurry. The sushi is on par with some of the more posh spots in SoCal.(I have TOO been) Surprisingly fresh and properly done. Best sushi I’ve sampled in EP. Décor is upscale, you’ll feel underdressed in a t-shirt, but no hassles over it. Bathrooms ain’t great. Lighting is wonderfully low. Overall ambiance is upper mid class. Fantastic menu, good palate cleansers, decent sized rolls. Too expensive to outright gorge, but VERY reasonable prices for what you get. For dessert, I insist on the fried ice cream. Nevermind the novelty, it is one of the best desserts I’ve ever had anywhere. Overall, a great place for a low key lunch, long dinner, or date night(guys, they have tv’s tuned to ESPN on in the dining area). Well worth the overstaffed, apathetic service staff.
