Stopped by Rib Hut to pick up an early takeout lunch at about 11:30 this morning. Was cheerfully greeted on arrival and helped immediately. Offered some water while I waited. Chatted with all the very friendly staff. I was keeping an eye on my car as I’d left my dog in it with the AC running, one employee propped open the door so I could see, and they even offered me a rib bone for my dog. The food was prepared quickly, the portions were extremely generous and the price was great. I got a brisket burrito and steak fries, the bshredded brisket was tender and the steak fires good. After the pile of fries I could barely eat half the big burrito, so I saved the other half for tomorrow’s lunch. I’m not a big meat eater so I don’t visit Rib Hut often, but I’m glad I went today.

I had really high hopes for this place, I really did. Especially when smoke pours out of the place when you open the door. We had heard this place was good so decided to try. Chips and salsa were good. Then we got our«BBQ.» Poor, to say the most. I’ve had amaze-balls BBQ so I know what it should taste like. My brisket had no flavor and it was like chewing on a rubber band, you just kept chewing and chewing and chewing. I had to use my knife to saw meat off the rib bone. I thought ribs were supposed to be tender and the meat«falling off the bone?» It was far, far from that. My daughter could barely eat her meat as well because it was SO tough. Cole slaw: what is the deal with every damn restaurant in El Paso having the same pineapple coleslaw? Can no one think of any other way to make it? Come on people. My husband couldn’t even pull his meat off the bone. Okay, that’s pretty bad. Turkey was super dry. Beans were boring. Utter disappointment. And we paid nearly $ 70 to top it all off! I will NEVER be back.

I have been coming here for years for the BBQ and it is the best in El Paso. This local restaurant is a great family owned restaurant where you know everything is made in house. The service is always just as great too, Nash & Marcos always take care of me on Wednesdays nights when I sit at the bar where I never wait more than 5 mins to get my drink and food in front of me! Those two, along with the rest of the staff, take great pride in this establishment.

Rib Hut has the best ribs I have ever tasted. Also the best brisket. ALSOTHEBESTFRIES. Go on a Saturday and get the discount brisket burritos, and some steak fries. You will not be disappointed. Fuck these other bad reviews, listen to me carefully. I have come to this place for over 15 years. Since I could eat solid food, Rib Hut has been in my life. The staff is awesome, the location is really cozy and its so fun for sports events. The food is bomb, all of it, LITERALLY all of it. Highly recommended!

Yay! Ok my parents love love love this place. It’s just like the reviews posted. I’m not a fan of Ribs, but the family loves them. Our waitress Lisa was super cool and she let me take a pic of her. She was super pleasant and funny. She was attentive and just overall a super amazing waitress. She gets that her job is customer service based. She was equally awesome to tables around us. I got the over sized potato with brisket. OMG talk about full. I wanted to crawl out the hut or steal the shorts made into curtains to cover my fat roll that I’m sure just popped out my ribs because of the rib hut! Lol. Ok so maybe it’s there and been there. But, the curtains are so cute! Super good and filling! Can’t go wrong here! Nice Job Lisa. Thanks for letting me make you UnilocalFAMOUS! ;)

The food is great… always cooked to perfection, and the service is spectacular Nash always remembers our order too and before I even ask I have what I need. Gotta try the gringo burger. …hmmmmm …gringoooo buuuurger. Haven’t had anything bad yet, it’s all good. It’s usually pretty busy but well worth the wait.

They never sit people in the order they came in. Just however their friend is goes first. That’s not winning anyone over.

This place is so great we went back again the very next day. Staff is amazing. The place has a 60’s dive feel and is always packed when I go, yet the staff doesn’t miss a beat!

First came in and Andrew greeted us with very friendly demeanor and when he sat us down for dinner he was well versed in their food, meat and beer selection. He was able to tell me the differences between all the beers. He was a really good guy with amazing attitude. Thanks Andrew for your amazing customer service! Making us feel at home even though we are almost 1100 miles away from home! Thanks from Santa Clara California!

My brisket was excellent! My husband got ribs and they were also very good! The workers were very sweet, saying if I didn’t like my sides, they would switch them out for me. We will be back!

Visiting El Paso, we wanted a good BBQ dinner. This wasn’t the place. The staff was friendly, but the food was very disappointing. The combo platter meats: beef ribs were fatty and chewy, pork ribs were hard, baby back ribs were the most edible of the meats. The burger was overcooked, which destroyed the tenderness of an Angus burger. The steak fries were plentiful but soggy. The ear of corn was undercooked(hard) and not sweet. Considering the very long line(at least 45 minute wait) on a weekday evening, we expected better.

Yikes the BBQ was terrible! Ordered a «sampler plate» of brisket, beef ribs, turkey & chicken. I liked that everything was served dry without any sauce so that was a plus. But the brisket had a bit of smoke ring but hardly any smoke flavor at all, was chewy and dry. The beef ribs were cut up in chunks and were mostly fat. Turkey tasted pretty much like the supermarket stuff and the chicken wasn’t smoked at all, rather it was grilled. On the other hand the service was friendly & polite. If you’re hungry for real BBQ I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Though they may have good burgers & fries so give it a shot.

Yep, just like the pictures show, the food is ridiculous. Flintstone beef ribs, tender and smoky. Perfectly pink ringed pork ribs. Green beans tasted like i made them myself(canned, but good). Mac, ehhh, baked potato, reasonable. Chicken fried steak, respectable. I’ll let you know about the fresh made pumpkin cobbler when we get back to the hotel… too full to even look at it right now. But it smells amazing(and I don’t care for pumpkin).

I’ve been coming to this place for a long time and it never disappoints. The place has so much character, charm, and history. I hope they don’t make major renovations and that they continue to keep their old hut feel to it. It’s a laid back place and so is the staff. I’ve never had bad service here. The food is just old fashioned American food. It is always done right, comes out warm and freshly made. Their portions are huge. We always leave full or end up taking food home.

Excellent ribs! Sweet and spicy is the perfect combo. It’s a small joint that seems to fill up quickly, so I recommend getting there before the dinner rush. Classic environment. Highly recommend!

Hmmmm absolutely delish! Wow! Lotsa big, beefy ribs! I ordered the three beef platter for lunch, $ 13.95 and it was well worth it!(I thought it was gonna be a bust, but was wrong) The ribs are way bigger and beefier than the State Line In Sunland ! I got sauce on the side, and sweet potato fries, and everything was delish! Nice smoky flavored ribs, but be ready for a hut filled with BBQ smoke!!(hey, at least no stinky cigarettes!!)

The rib hut is certainly not a new thing for El Pasoans, I have coming here for years. What to say about this place… well, what others may see as lack of some serious remodeling, I see as old charm that gives the rib hut it’s identity. The place is relatively small and parking is sparse. However, don’t let this keep you away from this place! I personally love to come here Wednesday for the $ 1.95 beef ribs special which starts at 4pm. I must say the ribs are pretty good and not small at all. Now, beware, you must be ready to wait for a table but the beefy goodness of the ribs and the excellent price make the wait worth it. Get a oil can beer(fosters) and some fries to go with your ribs and it will be pure glory and you will keep coming back every Wednesday

Rib Hut, I get it. I get why people rave about you. It’s not because you have great food(because the food is just typical freezer-to-fryer fare), it’s not because you use quality slices of meats(I’d say some cuts are better quality than others), it’s because of the slightly Germany-y college atmosphere you provide that many of us long for especially in such close proximity to UTEP. What in the world do I mean by «Germany-y college atmosphere»? Well Rib Hut is quite literally inside a hut. A large hut, with windows and doors, but a hut nonetheless. Complete with a super vaulted ceiling at like a 30 degree angle. Hut game on point. The inside is decorated with any and everything UTEP. I love that they have so much hometown pride! There’s a TV on both walls… one is actually Jerry-rigged up on a wood board with rope suspending it over a table… that one is my favorite. The windows are adorned with blue-jean mini-skirts and the dark wood gives the perfect low key kinda feel. This also happens to be a great place to watch a game. Needless to say, I love the atmosphere! And along with the atmosphere, I’m pretty fond of the service. They’re pretty fast about dropping off menus, taking drink orders, and all that jazz. And they seem to legitimately love RH. 1,000 points to RH. The food is actually where I have a little trouble. Most of the sides(like both versions of their fries) seem to be of the frozen persuasion. And I kind of have an issue paying fresh-food prices for something I can buy in Walmart because I can buy it in Walmart. When I go out to eat, I want something that is unique to that spot. My last trip to RH I ended up with the baby back ribs, the curly fries and the mac. The mac was disappointing, kind of artificial tasting which is kind of my issue with Velveeta boxed mac… it could’ve been Velveeta. The curly fries were curly fries and the only thing I ate all of. The ribs, while they were a good portion, the insides seemed a little pink for pork, but there’s a possibility the color could’ve been due to the red bbq sauce seeping through… maybe. I did end up asking for their regular bbq sauce because the honey bbq that comes on the baby backs has a farmy taste to it. Overall the food isn’t bad, it’s just okay. The service and atmosphere make up for what RH lakes in the taste department. I’d say this is a good stop for a college kid or anyone that wants to reminisce about the college days.
