omg. finally a legit korean restaurant in eugene. i’ve been here a couple times now, and even though the price is expensive, the service is wonderful and the food is not a disappointment. they make their own tofu, which makes this place authentic. the meat is pricey(pretty good quality though), but last time i went i saw some kind of special going on, so you might wanna check out their website. i can truly see the quality that this place brings to the table, and the effort the owner put into making this restaurant happen. one thing that’s kinda awk though is that out of all the decent kpop music they could be playing, the selection of korean music videos they played on the flatscreens(when i was there) was disturbing. and the volume was on pretty high. i mean, i get that this place serves soju and whatnot, but it’s not like this place is a korean bar… merp. i wouldn’t be surprised to see this place being renovated in the near future to include private karaōke rooms… which is very much needed in eugene.

Went for dinner date. Server hurried us to eat, though they were open for another hour after we left. We also felt condescended as we weren’t using the spices and utensils traditionally, and we didn’t mix our food as they suggested. Overall overpriced, somewhat rude service –no courtesy and not very friendly.

Our first time here. The service was quiet but friendly coming by our table regularly to make sure we had food prepped and for conversation. Food was absolutely delicious, atmosphere very fresh and elegant. The whole experience was very enjoyable, we will come again. Prices are a little steep so come hungry so you can get the all you can eat bbq.

This place is amazing. I had the Mandoo appetizer which was awesome but the Samgyeopsal was truly stupendous. The potato ban chan was very good and their Soju is very smooth and goes down with great ease. I will definitely be back.

My husband and I usually drive to Portland for a authentic Korean BBQ. When we heard there is a new BBQ place in town, we couldn’t wait to give a try, especially with all the good reviews. But I have to say it’s a huge disappointment!!! We ordered the marinated beef/bulgogi, marinated jumbo shrimp and pork belly. Except for the pork belly, all the marinated meat are way to sweet, even if I tried to eat them with the soybean paste. Having been to so many Korean BBQ places, I have to say it’s the most expensive BBQ we ever had, it’s about 30%-40% higher than average. It might be worth it, if it’s authentic.

I wish I could rate the food at this Korean BBQ. We entered and waited to be greeted. Finally asked where we wanted to eat. Since we had never been here, we said traditional. He looked disappointed and just pointed to a table and said sit there. That was the last we heard from anyone. The table behind us had a server and was being helped. We were completely ignored. Never given menus or anything. We walked out after 15 minutes.

I have eaten at a lot of Korean BBQ restaurants, being from Hawaii we have a wide variety to choose from. But four plus 3 by far tops all of them. The service was great I gave them the biggest tip I have ever given. The food… Oh man. The food was nothing short of A M A Z I N G. My boyfriend and I are thrilled we came across this place. They can expect to see us again very soon!

Really fun, but way to expensive for what it is. Also, clearly not catering to Americans. This place is for exchange students from Asia.

Awesome! Great to sit down and have the chef guide you through your 3-course-meal. Loved the pork belly & brisket. Entrees cost between $ 20 – 30 but again, totally worth it!

They were very cheap on us. gave us some kimchi and took back some because they though it was too much while it was really little for the three of us. The price is very expensive and they give small amount of meat. Not worth it.

We have been here twice now and everything we have gotten so far has been delicious! I love that you pull out a drawer on the side of the table to grab chopsticks and spoons. The first time we went I got kalbi tang and I am drooling just thinking about it! The broth was flavorful and the beef fell right off the bones. The portion size was generous and the meat so tender it melted in my mouth. The second time we went I got the seafood jjambbong and I couldn’t even count how many different types of seafood were in my soup. Even after a few bites you could barely tell — they give you a lot of food! Even when I was almost done I kept finding more shrimp, clams, calamari, etc. The broth was again so flavorful and so tasty. Coupled with the various complimentary side dishes, I was in heaven! As far as the atmosphere goes, they have K-pop going in the background and various screens throughout the restaurant for you to watch the music videos. It’s not too loud and makes for a great night out.

There are several reasons why I give this 2 stars. The good: it was tasty food, we had the bulgogi beef, and the Korean short ribs. Both were under the«hot plates» menu section. We also had the dumplings and t He usual sides-kimchi, potato, bean sprouts, kimchi cucumbers, and rice. Their special soy sauce is good too. Overall the taste was amazing. But not over priced food worth amazing. The bad: It is WAY too over priced for 1– why type of food it is. 2– the amount of food was absolutely pathetic. There was no one really there but one other couple and we were there from 5:40 — 6:45. I’m not sure who here has had some good Korean bbq or not, but I’ve never been to a Korean place that charges $ 31.99 for the short ribs. and…It’s TWO short ribs. That’s it. You can’t make the bulgogi beef either on the stovetop, it’s on a hot plate. You also don’t get the lettuce to make wraps if you get the hot plates. There’s no all you can eat option. There’s a $ 49.99 for two plate but it’s like 3 pieces of pork strip(aka bacon), 5 shrimp and some slices of brisket. WTF. That’s like ¼ lb of meat for 2 people to share. The Korean bbq place that I love in my old town did unlimited meats(10 to choose from) for $ 29.99 a person. It was always busy in there and the best Korean food I’ve ever had. If these people don’t give you more food for your money then they won’t be in business very long. We literally left hungry. Both of us are in shape, we eat clean. Korean bbq is known for its massive amount of cook it yourself food. They need some specials, or a night of all you can eat or something. I personally won’t be coming back here because of that, it’s a huge rip off. Paying that much money for the quantity of food out weights the delicious taste of their food. Would you pay $ 20 bucks for a Big Mac? No, I don’t think so. If you eat here that’s what will happen. Moral of the story is– don’t waste your money.

I spent three years in the ROK and I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE for a place that serves Korean BBQ. My wife and I were in town the day this place opened. We stumbled upon it around the dinner hour and I about busted with excitement. I was instantly taken back to my wonderful time spent in the country. Thank you and we’ll see you again. Great atmosphere, great staff, great food!

It’s very exciting to have a Korean barbecue in Eugene! As an international student from Asia, the flavor in this restaurant is really genuine traditional in Korean style. Not only the meat is fresh but also the flavor of seasoning and sauce are really nice. Especially recommend the tofu products are their homemade special!

Happy Father’s Day daddy! The staff here is wonderful! First time in and they treated us so well! They are friendly, funny, helpful, & all around good people. This is a family run business, and they REALLY care about what they do. The place was inpeccable, decorated well, & was very inviting. For drinks, 2 appetizers, 3 different meats, and all the lovely sides, ending with a delicious kimchee fried rice, came to $ 30 per person including tip. The prices look very daunting at first glance, but I promise, there is nothing else I’d rather spend my money on. And let me assure you, you will leave full & happy. The quality of ingredients and organic meats, is WELL worth the price. The will cook your food for you at your table, don’t be shy, speak up and ask as many questions as you’d like. They will teach you, and show you the most amazing flavor combinations. As a lifelong Korean BBQ lover, who has had it in several states, I would highly recommend this experience to any foodie. I’d give it a 4.5 out of 5 because their banchan(small sides) was limited and a charge for extra. (Plenty of gluten free items, not many vegan) I recommend the short rib meat marinated or unmarinated, the filet mignon, the ribeye, & above all else, the PORK belly!

walked in waiting to be seated for not sure what took so long seeing as;where we sat was already open, not sure why it took so long. It was my first time going to korean bbq and they just amused we knew what to do also they don’t tell you that utensils are in a drawer right under the table, they just kind of ignored us. the food was not worth 50 $ at all not even close, you barely get anything to eat, the only thing you’re paying for is for fancy and it’s not really worth it.

NASTY!!! Where do I even start? The Korean«BBQ» is horrible, thin fatty pieces of meat. I had 4 others friends with me so we all picked something different so we could share meats, nothing was good not even the chicken. Supposedly they are«marinated» but all meats(steak, chicken, brisket) were bland no flavor, greasy, and chewy! Yuk! I guess your supposed to season it with hotsauce(they give everyone a tray of four hot condiments before they start«BBQing» but all the condiments are SPICY so if you don’t like it hot don’t go here!) just don’t go period. Our server had no idea how to introduce the menu or to welcome someone who had never been in before. This place was confusing. Now I have to tell you the real stinger. We paid $ 30 a person for nothing, we literally were hungry at the end. If you want to reheat your fried rice yourself this is the place to go! Just so so so disappointed, don’t think I have felt this sad about a dining experience!

The façade outside is unimpressive, but the interior is simple yet elegant. The service was quite bad. The server forgot to give us utensils and was unable to answer/explain our questions of the menu. The food was tasty(reason for second star) but the portions were exceedingly unimpressive. We payed the minimum(they make you get two portions of meat for on the table cooking) of approximately $ 50 for about a half pound of meat. As an avid consumer of Korean BBQ in LA, CA I feel I have the authority to say this place is a rip off and an unpleasant experience all around.

Maru started offering Korean barbecue back in December 2014, but their service left a lot to be desired. Korean BBQ is labor-intensive for the server, as they have to monitor everything continuously and cut the food into bite-size pieces as they cook. Maru apparently didn’t train its staff in the finer points, and left it to us to do the work. Real Korean BBQ is finally here thanks to Four Plus 3. The former Kabuki spot on West 11th is nicely redecorated and surprisingly big, over 100 seats. About half of the tables are set up with overhead ventilation and gas burners on the tables. You need to indicate whether you want BBQ or not when you are greeted, so they can seat you at the right type of table. They have other dishes as well, but BBQ is the big attraction. DLW and I checked it out for a Saturday dinner. The pork belly combo is their featured BBQ offering, so we took it. Yep, it’s the real deal. We’ve eaten loads of this stuff at various spots around the country, and they do it right here. Included in the combo is tofu stew, banchan(small side dishes) and fried rice at the end. Four different marinades on the pork are given; I liked the hot and spicy one best. They put kimchi on the griddle along with garlic and onion, so you can include it in your lettuce wrap along with the pork. They also give you salted vinegar, ssamjang(bean paste) and gochujang(hot pepper paste) as condiments. It’s times like this I’m sorry I only have one mouth, because I can’t cram the flavors in there fast enough. The owner is a veteran of the Korean BBQ scene, and he knows the proper way to prepare and serve it. He also makes his own tofu, ssamjang and gochujang. If you’re a newbie to the form, and a couple sitting next to us was, he is more than happy to offer instructions. We were so happy with our experience that we literally touted it to three people at Fred Meyer afterward. Too bad it’s only open for dinner right now, or I’d lead a caravan on my co-workers there for lunch Monday.
