Having just moved here from Hawaii, I was excited to have the option of eating Korean food out in this hippie town, however I was quite disappointed with their Soon dubu. Overall the service was great and the banchan were super. The soon dubu was definitely headed in the right direction, but lacked flavor. If I was really craving some and was to lazy to make it at home, I’d come here again, but by choice its not a place i’d like to go for overpriced not so great Korean food.

The food here is outstanding, everything is hot, fresh and cooked perfectly. There are tons of menu options so there is something for everyone. One of my all time favorite places in Eugene.

I found the food to be marginal but palatable. The service was ridiculously poor. Our order was incomplete when delivered, when I asked very cordially to receive the rest of the meal I was treated as if I was being a pest. When the food did arrive it was cold and inedible. The server stated that it had been completed with the rest of the order just not brought out. When my 9 year old daughter did not want cold food I asked that it be warmed up, again the staff could not have been more put out. They took it in back and we never saw it again. To top off this poor performance as we were leaving, one of the staff chastised my child for waisting food. The same food that had been taken back and never returned. Of the hundreds of eating establishments in downtown Eugene I would place this one at the bottom of the list.

Very good food, moderate prices, fair service. Having heard good things about Noodle Bowl’s Korean cuisine, the hubs and I ventured out recently to get some warm spicy food on a chilly evening. The restaurant was packed on a Friday night at 6:30. Reviewing the menu in hand was different than viewing it on their website… specifically in the pricing. There are two menu versions floating online with very different items and prices, so be warned. We ordered Bulgoggi O — Sam with Pork belly, squid, long green onion, green lettuce, the Pot Bi Bim Bop* with Beef and Kimchee(an additional $ 2.00 for this ingredient) and the Seafood Scallion Pancake. While the food was very tasty and well prepared, there were some issues worth mentioning that brought down the overall experience. *Beverages(soda, tea) are pricey. A pint of beer was $ 6.00 *Both entrees were indicated on the menu as including 6 banchan, but we only got one order of the side plates. *When the banchan were delivered, one vegetable had migrated from the original plate to another side dish. The server noticed this as the plates were being set down, and picked the vegetable up with her fingers and placed it on the dish it came from. She said«don’t worry about me using my fingers, they make us wash our hands super well here.» Thanks, but I find a random vegetable that made its way to a different plate less offensive than watching a server(not a chef) pick up my food with their bare hands. *The Bi Bim Bop was dropped at the table first, followed by the Bulgoggi about 5 minutes later. The Seafood pancake that was indicated as an appetizer came halfway through the meal. So, yeah, we’ll be back when we be cravin’ some Korean, but we’ll keep our expectations for service on the low side.

The food is decent, a little bit pricy though. But the service is terrible and horrible, especially the tall Korean guy with all the acne scars, he is so rude. Won’t return to this place again, not worth it.

Just wanted to let folks know they are not open on Sunday. Too bad because we were really looking forward to noodles!

So many options! First time here and it wasn’t a bad place to eat some Korean food. Plenty of choices including vegetation and gluten-free options. PARKING: Street parking downtown! Free parking after 6pm. SERVICE: Staff is super friendly. For those who aren’t too familiar with Korean food, staff will come by and«teach» you(aka sesame oil in your hot clay pot bibimbap? yes please!) FOOD: Plenty of options from BBQ dishes to bibimbap to noodle dishes. Take your pick! I had the hot clay pot bibimbap with beef and it was delish! Large portion, so I made it two meals. TAKEOUT: As my boyfriend and I enjoyed our dinner, plenty of people came in to pick up their take out orders. Looks like a great place to go if you want some Korean food in the comfort of your own home!

My bf and I came in during lunch time and we were immediately seated, and got our menus and water. We ordered the seafood scallion pancake for appetizer and beef bone soup and kalbi. The two entrees both came with rice and the kalbi came with lettuce wrap and a fermented soy bean sauce?. After ordering, we were given 8 different small plates of banchan. We loved every single one of them and it would’ve been nicer if the portion was larger. Anyways, the beef bone soup was really tasty and full of flavor and I loved it! My bf loved the kalbi as well. The scallion pancake was average nothing special. Overall service was decent and we had a pleasant experience. We will be back for sure to try other dishes!

I’m not too familiar with korean food, but I really think this place is pretty damn good. The prices for the amount of food is great, and the food itself is delicious. The staff seems really friendly, and both times we went have been really nice experiences. This most recent time, my other half ordered the teriyaki chicken and I ordered the spicy chicken. We both had them over noodles, which were not too greasy and not to dry. It really hit the spot and this is quickly becoming another place that we will be frequenting with semi-regularity. I almost can’t wait to try one of their hotpots.

I’ve eaten here twice and both times I’ve ordered the spicy noodle bowl. Once with pork and once with chicken and both times it was so darn good, I may never make it to the rest of the menu. But I’m going to try because it all looks good. Nice service and very, very fast so it makes a perfect stop for lunch.

I have never written a Unilocal review this soon after trying a place out, but Noodle Bowl exceeded my expectations tremendously. I was craving noodles, so I thought I’d give Noodle Bowl a try. I loved the fact that you could order from their website(I get anxiety when ordering over the phone, haha!), so I did that. Every single thing you order from their site, they allow you to enter special instructions for that item(i.e., «no mushrooms»), which is extremely helpful. They also let you input what time you are picking it up, so you don’t necessarily have to pick it up straight away. I got there and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. I told them I had an online order, and one of them explained to me that their online menu is a bit outdated and they, unfortunately, no longer offered eggrolls as an appetizer. He gave me pot stickers instead and was very polite and apologetic about it. I had literally just ordered the food maybe ten or fifteen minutes before I came in, and it was ready right after I got there! Extremely prompt and polite service(he even asked me if I wanted a glass of water while I waited, which was very nice). The food was perfect. Absolutely perfect. I chose appetizers because they were more affordable, and the size of the appetizers are enough to fill you up! Their tofu noodle bowl appetizer is huge for the small price you pay. Their curry noodle bowl is perfect as well. They seem to have something for everyone — whether you want just salad, noodles with chicken, or traditional Korean dishes. They have it all, and it’s all on point and delicious. This is the best restaurant experience I’ve had in a long time, and I’ll be coming back for more! Highly recommend!

Most authentic(read: best) Korean food in Eugene. Fat menu with lots of options, I ordered bibimbap and Beef Tofu Hot Soup(soon doobu jjigae). It was boss AF. Service was prompt, they gave extra rice and banchans. The soup was flavorful and the bulgogi marinade was on point. Kimchi is done Cheollabukdo style with a little spice and compliments all the dishes. Often Korean restaurants have to sub in other ingredients that they can’t get state side. These guys don’t and it really makes the authenticity shine! I know some people go «omg the food was not good guyez» and slap 2 stars. You are going into an authentic Korean restaurant with a very traditional menu. If you want that experience, then you will enjoy this. If you search for an Asian restaurant and end up here and don’t like the food, it’s probably because not every culturally different dish is designed to appease your miniscule pallette. PF Changs is a better choice for that type of experience.

Very popular lunch place, won Best of Eugene(Korean). Love the six small plates of pickled veggies that come with the main dishes. GF always gets Bi Bim Bop, authentic and reminds her of Korean countryside. I like the several spicy hot pots I’ve tried; always seem to come on cold wet days. Service is quick and friendly, ambience average at best but who cares? There are other good Korean places in Eugene but somehow this is where we always go. Always leave happy, too.

I wanted to like this restaurant in a big way but I can’t because the food we ordered was just not good. Okay, the potstickers were just osu and free because our food took so long to come out. The bulgogi was good, but the black noodles was watered down as was the soft Tofu. Nice people working there but I can’t for the food. It was a shadow of what I grew up eating. It sort of tasted like Korean food but did not have the bold flavors that Korean food is supposed to have. I have to find an authentic K-Restaurant.

Came in quite hungry at the tail end of a Monday lunch. Was seated and seen to and brought tea and banchan and an odd lettuce salad and rice… and then I waited 18 minutes(I’m a cook, I do not exaggerate ticket times) for my expensive Bulggogi O Sam. I turned from the window counter after I had eaten most of the banchan and most of the rice, and asked, «May I please have the rest of my lunch now?» One server stopped training another long enough to tell me that my food was coming. The seaweed banchan was okaaay, could have used more sesame. The potato was too sweet. The napa kimchee was nice. The cucumbers were too sweet. I ate more of the banchan than I wanted, because I sat down starving and the main dish took too long. The pork belly was right, though cut in very inconsistent chunks. The squid was a little… toothier than I prefer, though not really rubbery. The romaine is a mystery. A better meal, with at least three more banchan, would cost $ 10 or $ 12 in eastern Washington. This meal(including a charge for tea!) came to $ 17 and change. The server asked me «Do you want any change back?»(from my $ 20 bill). This question is never, ever, EVER acceptable, says the chef. One cheerfully and efficiently makes change, and is gracious, and does not apply oblique passive-aggressive pressure to guests. Had one not done so, one would also likely have gotten another single or two out of my wallet and onto the little clipboard with the check. Food: 75⁄100 Service: 40⁄100

From previous reviews here it seems Noodle Bowl had a reputation for bad service and good food. They seem to have taken the criticism to heart, because the service we received was at least okay for Eugene. That’s something of a backhanded compliment, I realize, but since every place in town is understaffed and often spacey in its service, you take your positives where you can. We stopped for Friday dinner, and each of us wanted a familiar comfort food. DLW had tofu stew, soondubuchigae if you prefer, and I had stone bowl bi bim bop. The stew was spicy and piping hot as it should be, and the hot stone bowl crisped the rice as it should. Plenty of chili sauce, gochujang, to go with. Four banchan dishes were served as well, with a refill when the entrees were a bit late. Bubble tea in to-go cups completed the meal. Until someone opens a proper Korean barbecue place here, this will be a go-to.
