Bought a couple bottles today. Was impressed with the selection and the place in general. I’ll defiantly will be back. Great place in a small area

Love this place! You can count on them to refer some great wine no matter your price range. They ask what you like and what you want to spend and somehow pick the perfect bottle. Most of the time quite a bit under budget even. It’s never about trying to sell you a bottle at the top of your budget, just what they think you will like. Very friendly staff!

First, The Broadway has an excellent wine selection, and the staff are quite knowledgable about wine (to be expected I suppose). I have been here twice, and am extremely disappointed with the service. The first time, we sat and were greeted quickly. We ordered food and a glass of wine. Everything was great until our wine, water and food were gone. We sat for 20 minutes with our empty food and wine vessels. I had to stand at the end of the bar for an additional 5 minutes to even get our bill. The second time we were there was unfortunately much the same. It appears to be an establishment that one must be a regular to receive good service. Overall, quite disappointed. Really too bad, as the owner is passionate about wine and his wine bar and is a very nice guy.

Really nice wine shop. As noted by Josh W, this is the same business that was once «The Broadway» on (logically) Broadway. Now it’s «The Broadway» in (not logically) Oakway Center.
Digression aside, I liked the old places’ deli sandwiches but appreciate the laser focus on wine in this shop. The owner is clearly a wine expert who enjoys helping people find a good fit for their needs.
Lots of expensive fancy looking stuff but also specializes in ~$ 10 dollar bottles. If I was looking for wine, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Angus know his wine, and as always shopping here is a pleasant experience. Knowledgable and friendly staff and a great selection of Oregon Pinot Noirs in every price range and region.

The Broadway is a wine bar. If you want to visit a wine bar and learn about wine as well as find a great bottle this is the place to go. Although not a restaurant, they do make amazing appetizers and the wine dinners are very special. Angus has a great palette and has yet to steer me wrong. It is nice to visit a place like this which knows what it is and what it is not.

I’ve not tried any of the food, it’s probably decent.
The wine selection. Top notch. They know what they are doing. They pack a lot into this little space, I could walk out with any bottle in there. The lady at the bar is great to talk to, and Angus is great. They will pick you out something good, and will pop it open and share it with you if you want. If I lived anywhere close, I would be a daily regular. I heart this place hard.

Friday night wine tasting is always very good and very popular. Arrive after 6 and you might have a hard time getting a table immediately, but there is plenty of room to stand and enjoy the tasting, and table turnover is frequent enough to get one with a short wait.
Easily the best and broadest wine selection in Eugene. And there are a ton of great choices on the $ 10 wall. And some great champagnes and sparkling wines.

We stopped here last week after having dinner at Sabai with our friends. The girls wanted some wine, and we were up for a little brew. We got here around 7:30 and it was pretty busy. Most of the tables were taken and we were kinda standing around checking out the different wines they had on display.
From what I noticed the bottles ran from $ 18 to $ 60+. The girls got a bottle and sipped it down while the 3 of us guys got a brew. We had Boneyard IPA. They had i believe 3 or 4 beers on tap. Kinda bummed me out… We sampled the cider which was supposed to be about 13% and it was bunk. A big hell no. The boneyard had a nice bite, with a clean after taste.
The place looked really nice, I liked the set up. They had a cool bar with wine tops under a layer of glass, nice touch. I could see myself coming back more, but I would like a little bit more of a beer selection. I do understand its a wine shop, but a lil extra variety in the beer section couldn’t hurt.
None the less, we all enjoyed our drinks, it was fairly priced, and the gentleman working was very helpful and kind.
For those of you who are bummed out about «The Broadway» that closed, this is the same joint, just a new location.

Ai yai yai. First it was the Broadway Wine & Deli, then they added catering, then, a grocery store. But downtown Yewjean entered a freefall, and so they closed the grocery store, ended the deli, and now, sadly, the wine is gone as is the whole darn place. Boo.
Don’t get me started on the problems, perils, and politics of the DTE sitch. Suffice it to say, Broadway was one of the good ones. Back in the day, I could walk to work, fill my cup with organic joe for $ 0.75 at the Broadway, and pick up a tube of toothpaste at Tiffany’s on the way home. I have to wonder when we ran Whole Foods out of town for fear of them «stealing customers» away from other, locally-​owned businesses, did we really help things? Or, it is a classic case of cutting off our nose to spite our face?
It doesn’t matter, I suppose. We can cling to the hope of Voodoo, and a remodeled Centre Court building, and maybe, someday, we’ll get the heart of the city back. When we do, I hope that the Broadway’s a part of the renaissance.

Such a great find! I no longer live on the West Coast, and places like this are one of the things I miss most.
Broadway is a nice little wine shop where they also host monthly wine dinners and, I believe, Friday night wine tastings with appetizers and some food. They used to also serve meals (the french toast was so yummy!) and deli sandwiches, but they’ve downsized a little to ride out the recession. I just hope they bring some of the other things back in a few years!
Anyway, they have a lot of interesting wines and the owner, Angus (co-​owner, I think) is incredibly nice. He’s very willing to give suggestions and recommendations for good/​cheap wines.
My parents are huge fans of this place, and we just held a dinner party there for my Dad’s birthday. It went great! I can’t believe how helpful everybody was, and the food was fantastic. I really have nothing but good things to say – stop by next time you’re in downtown Eugene!

The staff is actually nice, but sometimes the clientele shoot the evil eye to you because they feel you are invading their space as you shop for food.
That is the one drawback, not much privacy to enjoy a good glass of vino and tasty morsels.
They have a wonderful array of deli meats, cheeses and tasty tidbits. They carry a drink for everyone, from bottled waters, to juices, to microbrews and wine.
During the Eugene Celebration parade, they have fresh pastries and coffee set up in the front, so you can grab the goods and find a spot to perch.

The Broadway has a nice little market, and the staff is comprised mostly of nice people who seem to be happy all the time, even if they can’t pronounce the names of all the many cheeses. Surprisingly good (if predictably snooty) wine shop, and excellent food for a deli-​type place. The soup, especially, is hard to beat (try the seafood bisque), and the small deli case packs a large selection of wonderfully inventive salads and entrees, with selections ranging from vegan pasta dishes to skewered dead animal. Good show for the most part: Stay clear of the risotto and «tandoori» (quotes added because I’d bet a paycheck there’s no tandoori involved) dishes and you’ll be golden.
Downsides? The grocery selection is pretty slim at the Broadway, the produce tends to be rather forlorn-​looking, and you have to check the pull dates and freshness on everything yourself — stock rotation is not a big strength, and I’ve gotten rotten stuff more than once. Prices are about what you might expect at a boutique-​type place — it ain’t Wal-​Mart, thank God. And, if you want to nit-​pick, the cook-​type fella lacks people skills in a big way; he’s brusque to customers and downright mean to his co-​workers. Funny thing, though — I always smile and wave to him when I leave. The way I figure it, he’s Eugene’s answer to the Soup Nazi.

The Broadway is the best deli in the downtown area, and they also feature an amazing selection of wines. Since I am not a wine person, I will tell you about the deli. They make the BEST sandwiches in the city, hands down. Edit: Early this year they removed their deli counter, much to my chagrin. They still make sandwiches in the back (thank the stars), but you can no longer parouse their selection of deli treats. They have moved them into a small section of their cooler, where you are forced to use their plastic containers, or not get any of their items. They lose 1 star for this poor judgment call. They took out the best feature of the place, and replaced it with yet more wine shelves. Bad call, Broadway!
They have regular wine tastings (every Friday from 5 to 8 pm), and although they have scaled back the grocery store aspect of the store, they still have a good selection of organic fruits and berries, cheeses, breads, and gourmet sweets. They also have a vast selection of teas, sodas, juices, and health drinks. They have a good selection of microbrews also. As I said, their main thing is wine. Most of the space is devoted to displaying that. A good place to go to grab a quick snack, or have lunch with a friend. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff too. :)
