The food is good. Wide variety at reasonable prices. The staff is very attentive and friendly. If you sit in the bar area ask for Ashley.

I ordered the 20oz T-bone and was delivered a small steak over cooked. I sent back the steak and the waitress came back after the chef cut deeper into my $ 30 steak and said its Rare at the bone. Its unfortunate that Angus has gone down hill so much. I won’t recommend this streak house to anyone who is looking for a great steak.

We have driven past this restaurant for 2 years on our way to Fairfield University and decided to try it this evening. Service was unbelievably slow despite the fact it wasn’t crowded. While we were seated immediately our waiter took almost 10 minutes to even acknowledge us. Another waitress stopped by twice to ask if we had been greeted yet. We ordered the fried mozzarella — which was pretty good and arrived relatively quickly. It went downhill from there. We had to ask for our water to be refilled 4x. We sat for literally 45 minutes waiting for 2 steaks and 1 piece of prime rib. When they finally arrived one was almost raw. The prime rib was okay. Portions were gracious and the meat was good quality. Vegetables were cold and uninspiring — medley of broccoli, snap peas and green beans. They were so gold the butter wouldn’t even melt … We didn’t even bother with dessert. We didn’t have another hour to waste. Consensus was our waiter was the real issue. Others seem to be served hot food in timely fashion.

We really enjoyed our meal here. It strikes me as a place that does the basics well — scallops, clams casino, steak, etc. Everything we had was perfectly cooked and pretty much exactly as the menu described, plus our server was extremely nice and on-task. I’m a big Irish whiskey fan, and this place had a good selection. Will definitely return.

I’ve been going to the Angus Steakhouse for over 30 years. They had been famous for their big, delicious, juicy burger, served on an english muffin. Burgers are still prepared that way, although if you prefer a roll they are happy to accommodate you. The menu ranges from steaks and chops to seafood to Italian specialties to great burgers and sandwiches. What sets the Angus apart is their dynamite specials. The house-made soups du jour are exquisite. New England clam chowder, black bean, butternut squash, pasta fagioli… I would make a special trip for any of them. If you’re lucky enough to be there when sausage-stuffed hot peppers are on the menu, get them! Also not to be missed is their«Steak-ation» special. This includes a salad, steak, vegetable and potato. I’m not talking about a tiny salad with wilted brown leaves, but a gorgeous house or caesar salad. It’s a NY strip steak, cooked to perfection. It’s not mushy canned vegetables, but crisp-tender garden-fresh picks such as haricot verts. You absolutely cannot go wrong, all for $ 25(and don’t forget the $ 15 bottle of wine!). I recommend the Angus for a casual bite in the pub, or an intimate, relaxing dinner in the dining room.

great location, easy to get a table even if it was already crowded. Nice quality angus burger, cooked the way you ask. The bun itself had nothing special, not heated enough. French fries were just not my taste and did not counter balance my guilty feeling. Overall, i found the ANGUS a nice place to hang out with friends, with a good vibe, reasonable bill, not for foodies though.
