Closest bakery in walking distance from home, so pure convenience brought me here a couple times since it changed from Koryodang. Pastries are mediocre and I much prefer the light fluffy cakes at Paris Baguette which is just one more street down. The upside for this joint is the vast amount of indoor and outdoor seating. A private lot shared with a bunch of other stores in the vicinity makes it harder to find a spot upstairs, but you can always park downstairs and use the elevator to come up to the store level. The drinks are pretty atrocious. No artisanal drinks– not even remotely close. The bubble tea tapioca is gross– is this how chewing on tires would taste like? Rubbery and stale. Yuck. This is before Q Tea or Kung Fu entered the area– at the time, it was a beggars can’t be choosers loss. My most recent visit was just a couple weeks ago when I had to pick up a bday cake. The boys working the counters have some serious attitude. I don’t need a smile but if you think you look cool by being nonchalant and curt, you have much to learn.

Came here for the patbingsoo shaved ice dessert. It’s massive, not too sweet, and fluffy; they keep the condensed milk light too, which I like. My friend and i barely made a dent in ours because it was so much food but nonetheless delicious. At 12 bucks, a serving size for 4 people is reasonable. I remember they used to use higher quality mochi over the last years, so I was sad to see that they changed it to some cheaper quality. The pastries are fine, carb-y, yummy; never had a problem with the bread. Much better than caffe bene and Paris baguette in my opinion. The drinks are rather inconsistent. Don’t expect artisanal café coffee nor fresh bubble tea tapioca balls. As for tea, they didn’t have the tea flavor I wanted, so I asked for something else, and they didn’t have that one either — this has happened multiple times, so not sure why it’s still on the menu.

Love the assortment of bread selections!!! My favorite is the sweet pumpkin Castella and 10 grain because of the sweet rice in it! They also give mini samples for some breads. Nice and clean place as well :)

I like their bakery especially egg sandwich and koroke. So we decided to have breakfast once. Floor was so dirty and it was early in the morning not the end of day.(Pls see photos) Bathroom was full of garbage, odor… Hard to believe anyone cleans this place daily or even bi-weekly. and this makes me wonder how clean the inside of kitchen will be if they cannot care about even visible part of café. Each corner of café you look around, you can see full of dust especially next to sign where they prepare drinks right under. I do like their bakery stuff so I hope they can improve in this respect.

Located right next to BCD(we were craving something sweet despite being super full — there’s always always room for dessert). Well, the only thing I liked about it is the seating area and the convenience of coming here. Other than that, the pastries were ordered were overpriced and mediocre at best. There was nothing to «wow» here. I was attracted to some of the baked goods they displayed, but again not enough to purchase. I did enjoy the K-pop music playing in the background and on the TV screens(huge K-drama/K-pop fan). Service was fast and smooth — it peeved me that they gave us the cheapest and most flimsy paper plates for our stay — they really should upgrade or perhaps invest in some good dishes for those we wish to stay. The bathroom could have been cleaner but was not horrible. This is already too much said for a pretty basic place.

I came here with my family on a Saturday morning and once we arrived our senses were hit with a deep aroma of baked goods. An array of Korean desserts lined the shelving around the windows and several types of cakes were displayed by the register. I enjoyed the modern design of this bakery because it looked liked an upscale café you might find in new york due to the seating and chandeliers which added a touch of elegance and sophistication. My mission was to try the bubble tea so I bought a Iced Chai bubble tea for myself and a grapefruit bubble tea for my brother. I took one slurp of the bubble tea and I was hit with that familiar essence of Chai flavoring. I moved my straw around the cup to try a tapioca ball and as soon as I did I was in love. The texture was perfect, firm yet not as hard as a jaw breaker and it was soft enough to almost melt effortlessly in your mouth as you chew it for two or three times. Although the tapioca and Chai tea was great, you need to keep stirring the tea in order to keep the flavor evenly distributed throughout your drink because the ice will settle and it will taste watery. Overall it is a cute bakery/café to come to, but I would not come here regularly due to the prices of some cakes and baked goods that I can find at a more reasonable price elsewhere. However, the Chai bubble tea was delicious and I would definitely come back for that!

The Korean-Parisian bakery located right beside the BCD tofu house, this place has a large bakery space, not too crowded, free wifi, tables to the left of the counter, and you can order coffee or bubble tea(4.85 for a bubble tea… eh). Typically expensive prices for different pastries, relative to what I think they should be worth. A twist donut($ 1.95) was the same price as a smaller non-twisted one, so I’m not sure what a good deal would be here. The breads have samples, though be careful — I had a sample of the cranberry bread, and though the ingredient list didn’t list nuts, the piece I ate had walnuts in it. Uh, hopefully that doesn’t get into the hands of someone with nut allergies! Bought a loaf of the almond bread. Turned out to be dry… looks like the fish will be fed tonight.

Looking for a place to work tonight in Fort Lee; many of the local cafes were overcrowded and filled with territorial customers. Happened upon Crome, and I was delighted to find a well-lit, spacious café with open tables! A large mix of people have also found themselves at Crome tonight; young families, older couples, and study groups are here enjoying tasty treats and warm beverages. We quickly received our beverages, but the area where we found a seat was covered in crumbs and trash from previous customers. The ambience is nice, and this seems to be a good place to study. i wish it were better tended to, and cleaner. Will likely return!

This place is heaven on earth. I don’t even like sweets however this place has perfected breads and pastries. I always thought Italians had the corner on this market… Crome is absolutely delicious, great atmosphere and the staff is warm and friendly. Breads and pastry to die for!!! Awesome coffee and tea as well!!!

A great place for some delicious dessert. However, I always find it hard to communicate with anyone in this place. Asking an employee and receiving an answer is near impossible. So I usually smile and just say ok never mind. Lol but the strawberry bingsu was delicious here which I was surprised about. Definitely worth a try. And their fresh baked breads always have the right amount of sweetness.

This place has a great selection of creative breads and pastries, and during my most recent trip they now have an ice cream stand in the back off the store. It’s milky frozen ice cream with assorted toppings, I went for fruity pebbles cause of course. How can you not like this place?

I love the bread there– esp the cranberry/walnut loaf. The service is a hit or miss. Sometimes great and sometimes not so much. It’s a nice hang out place with a cool ambience. They just started serving soft ice cream– a bit like gelato. A good dessert after a spicy meal in Korean town!

I give it a solid 3.5. Coming from my hometown of Flushing, a subsection of Queens that is currently oversaturated with Asian cafés and bakeries, has left me tired of all of these cookie cutter shops. CROME, with its familiar line of Korean pastries, specialty teas and coffees, and cakes feels unfortunately indistinct in that manner. A group of us wandered in here after dinner to sit and chat for a bit and between the four of us, our party ordered several drinks, including a latte, an iced coffee, and a 12-grain tea. We were issued a pager so that we wouldn’t have to hang around the counter while our drinks were being prepared. The iced coffee was my fiancé’s, and he distastefully pushed it aside after a few sips, claiming that it was too thick and suspiciously syrupy. He’d ordered his coffee with milk and sugar but we surmised that it’d been lightened with either half and half or condensed milk, neither of which he particularly likes(but if you’re someone who does, all the better for you). The 12-grain tea was mine, chosen after I’d asked and been told that there is no nondairy milk available for their handmade beverages(a huge downside for any vegans, strict vegetarians, or lactose intolerant customers). I grew up drinking this particular hot tea(yulmucha, for those who are familiar with it) so it was a nostalgic nod to my childhood to have it again here. Thick, slightly sweet, and pleasantly nutty, this is a wonderful alternative to those avoiding the caffeinated section. We also purchased a few pastries to share, including a cup of round butter cookies, another small package of some elongated cookies, and a small cake. None were particularly outstanding or memorable, flavor-wise, but fine as a snack. The four of us enjoyed a leisurely time over drinks, dessert, and deep conversation but there were several televisions around the dine-in area so that if you really want to, you could find something to watch while you ignored your tablemates. Much mention has already been made about the crowdedness of the seating space so I won’t repeat it here, but only add that the televisions, music, and the very lingering nature of café spaces might make for a slightly raucous environment as nearby customers chat in surround sound around you. I certainly found that to be the case during our time here on a Saturday evening. I hate to use the word ‘uninteresting’, but this is a fairly typical café with some of the same offerings as most other Korean coffeeshops. On the plus side, they have a section with some beautifully decorated cakes(though many of them veer pretty far into the pricier end, as far as cakes go), and they have a pretty extensive bubble tea menu that would be fun to try(if only they offered soy milk as a substitute for the milk-heavy drinks!!!). All in all, a convenient place to have casual, postprandial chatter, especially since it sits in a plaza with plenty of parking spaces in the lot.

I did a review of this place when it was known as Koryodang Bakery and Café. Since it has changed ownership there has been no sign of slowing down. In fact they have picked up more customers in my opinion. I’ve visited this store on numerous occasions when I was in the area at at different times so I know the flow of customers varies from crowded to empty. Crome seems to keep that flow of customers at a steady pace compared with Koryodang from before. Crome offers sweet tooth’s the opportunities to indulge in some high quality Korean desserts. My main draw to this place is their bubble tea. I love their Thai tea bubble as well as the honeydew and taro flavors – not together of course. For desserts their selection of pastries are delicious, albeit on the pricier side, and the cakes that they make in-house are phenomenal. I’ve purchased birthday cakes on two different occasions and I’ve found them to be memorable. One cake was their amazing Blueberry Chiffon cake and the other was their strawberry cream cake. Both were a big hit at the party. I’ve continued to frequent this location for some time and I can’t see myself stopping soon. Whatever name they make call themselves if they keep the delicious treats flowing from the kitchen I’m sure they’ll be here for many years to come.

Interesting take on pastries and cute place, but I could understand why people write that it gets crowded. When my family came about two weeks ago, the place wasn’t packed, but it did seem like people like to gather and camp out and because the tables are kind of close to one another, it lends itself to a more crowded atmosphere than it really is. Anyway, onto the food. I had a bun that had some hot dog pieces and ketchup on it(too much ketchup). My family also shared some buns that had red beans and sesame. Everything is unique and good but I wish the workers had offered to warm up the pastries. Cold hot dog, eh.

Not a big fan of this place. Place is extremely packed and the locals are as rude as the workers. The only positive thing about this place were their pastries and the bingsu isn’t too bad during the summer. Recently got the individual slices of chocolate cake and cheesecake. Chocolate cake was pretty good.

We got a birthday cake here for a 5 year old nephew and I can say it is the worst cake I’ve ever eaten. It was so dry and everything just fell apart. It just did not taste authentic. This is was the Blue bear character cake. It’s a basic white cake with colored cream. Placed on feb 31st

I thought this place offers very good quality drinks and baked goods. I have had coffee, different bubble teas, baked goods and cakes. I was well satisfied with the quality. They also offer free wifi which works well, and have some seating for which people can sit down for a chat or studying. I would recommend this place to people, especially early in the morning.

Minus 1 star for being cheap and not accepting American Express, and for being picky and requiring a $ 5 minimum credit charge! Bubble Tea Experience — I definitely think I got diabetes from the overwhelming sweetness of the bubble tea that I ordered. I think next time, i’ll ask for half the sweetness level from the normal. However, overall, decent selection of bubble tea. Not sure if it comes in different forms, but the one that I had(Taro) came in a slushy form. The boba were good, chewy and cooked perfectly.
