I’ve been to this time many times over the years but recently their services became horrible and poor food quality. I’d rather go to Winchester cracker barrel from now on.

This review is more toward the contributions to the USO that is currently going on at Cracker Barrel. Its very disappointing and oxymoronic that they will donate 20% of the Mama’s pancake breakfast, when they don’t even offer a military/veterans discount. But they can offer a senior citizens discount. I purposely did not order this breakfast because of this.

The place was packed for a Sunday afternoon. WOW. Fortunately we only need seating for 2 so we got something right away. The folks in front of us was a party of 6 and needed to wait 20+ min. I ordered the Sunday chicken special. It was 2 fried chicken breast, mash potatoes and the daily veg. The chicken was really good — the perfect temp and not too dry. The daily vegetable was a cup of hot/wet cabbage which I would not order again and go with something of substance. The unsweetened ice tea tasted like it was made from powder and not brewed. It wasn’t worth the $ 2.29. My daughter had the Ruben and was very impressed. The pickles were on top of the sandwich which was a nice touch. She had fried apples which took seconds to scarf down… glad our server removed her hands out of the way. :) Overall was a great experience. I spent too much money walking through the gift shop but would go back again.

Cracker Barrel is not what it used to be. Server was nice. But food took forever and was cold when it came. Asked twice for ketchup for my daughter’s eggs — never brought it. Won’t be back. This is a chain that’s following so many other older restaurant chains down the tubes.

No wait to be seated. 15 minutes before Duke, a server from another station, took pity on us and took our drink orders. Duke delivered the drinks then we met our server who asked us about the drinks. 25 minutes after our drinks, Duke delivered our food, then our actual server — who we hadn’t seen since she asked us about the quality of our beverages that someone else delivered — came by and asked us about our food that she didn’t deliver. The whole time the manager watched us with folded arms and empty drinks and never made eye contact. I tipped Duke 25% for having to work among all that failure. Avoid Front Royal Cracker Barrel unless you want your food tainted with flop sweat.

Food hot, however biscuits and corn muffins cold. My mom’s hamburger steak was cooked well done to point of dry, waitress forgot her side of gravy. Had to keep asking for it, cause she surely needed it for that piece of meat. My food was good but look liked it was thrown on my plate in a hurry.

Forget IHOP much better food, service, seating, the coffee keeps flowing, and the kitchen and service is fast on a Sunday.

Compared to many Cracker Barrels the service here is way better than average! I ordered the meatloaf with Steak Fries, mixed vegetables, and apples. Everything was awesome except the veggies which were way undercooked. This is my top ranked CB, and I go to many if them all over the country!

They have the greatest Chicken & Dumplings around. Always such a good place to eat. Price is good and get lots for the money. Affordable and nice family oriented.

Very nice staff. The food was delicious and affordable. They also serve the food pretty quickly or at least it seemed quick since they had a game you can play at the table. I love the store they have up front. A lot of neat stuff.

I’ve been to a lot of Cracker Barrels in my life, but this one was worthy of comment. The chain offers consistently good food, service, and atmosphere, but this particular location seems to offer the best service I’ve seen. Prompt, courteous, and attentive. Five stars for certain.

This a great choice for travelers, always good and clean bathrooms. Breakfast I have oatmeal and bananas, sometime pancakes with real maple syrup

I know this is a chain, but I normally don’t get to visit Cracker Barrel often since I live in DC; and thus when I do visit it’s like a ritual — surreal. The past — and only — two times I’ve been was this same location, and both times it was a lot of fun. The rocking chairs on the outdoor porch are fun, and the indoor décor is quaint, dorky, and funny as well. The food and drinks are reasonably priced, and a meal that costs just above $ 10 can get you really full. You can also play the little — but apparently difficult — board game on the table while waiting for the food to come. The store is filled with interesting souvenirs and paraphernalia as well as food and beverage items from Cracker Barrel itself. Every day they have a special in the restaurant, and apparently on Fridays it’s fried fish. Our waiter enthusiastically said«have a good fried fish Friday» while seating us last time; it was funny. The fireplace provides a cozy ambiance, and the wooden décor with dark hues add to the homey feel in the dining area. The store also sells some delicious stuff, from pancake mix to baked chocolate pecan pies. Definitely a good place to stop by while on a road trip on 66!

Double check any To-Go orders before leaving the restaurant. I was left without utensils even though it was on the receipt, and I asked if they were in the bag prior to leaving the restaurant. Otherwise, typical Cracker Barrel cuisine!

We had breakfast there during the weekend we spent in front royal. The waitress was very pleasant person. The food was average to slightly above average. Honestly, this was our first trip to Cracker Barrel. I would recommend this restaurant over most of the joints around here.

I came here with some friends for dessert and both the desserts we had and the service was good. They have a gift store(kinda pricey) with a great assortment of gifts and souvenirs. Good place to check out if you’re new in the area.

Cracker Barrel in general rests in that spot where you just can’t beat the value. There is better food elsewhere, for sure, but it’s not going to be less than $ 10. The server is not going to be nearly as friendly. And you won’t be able shop in a ridiculous yet awesome country store upon leaving. This Cracker Barrel hit all the high points. I was in the mood for comfort food and not in the mood to spend $ 20 on dinner. My party was a little indecisive, but the server didn’t seem to mind having to come back several times. The portions were good enough to not leave hungry, but not so large that I was stuffed and regretted my unhealthy choice. And last, I always respect a place that puts IQ tester game on the table. Nothing like being reminded of how smart you aren’t while waiting for your food.

I ordered a TOGO dinner for myself and 3 other people. The man on the phone read my order back to me so I know he wrote everything down correctly. Well, when the order came home 2 of the 4 orders were not only wrong, but missing items as well. My chicken friend chicken was missing the sauce on it. The other meals dumplings was missing its eatra gravy and extra dumplings. I called the store and when they answered I was jerked around from person to person until finally someone told me to hold on(not explaining what they were going to do) and another man gets on and I said I was waiting for someone else he identifies himself as the manager. After explaining my problem for a 3rd time to a 3rd person. He offered me a gift card for 2 meals. I was happy with that, but was very upset with the fact my dinner at that moment was wrong.

Always crowded, and gives a consistent experience. There is nothing incredible about Cracker Barrel, but my family still eats here from time to time. Usually, one of us gets a craving for gravy or chicken-friend steak and BOOM! We find ourselves here. Service here is always relaxed(i.e., slightly slow), but friendly. Portions are filling but not to excess. It is hard to find sweet tea that isn’t bitter or syrupy in northern Virginia, but Cracker Barrel hits the spot. I also love the biscuits and corn bread that come with main courses, and the side dishes are tasty, especially the fried okra, macaroni and cheese, and buttery corn. The trip wouldn’t be complete without also buying peanut butter cups or those delicious caramel-marshmellow thingums from the shop on the way out.
