My husband and I used to frequent this spot while it was still a hidden jem. We went in last night and I asked for a sweet, gin drink. What I ended up with was grapefruit on the rocks. My husband ordered a black russian, and the bartender didn’t even know what that was! While we were choking down our drinks, another patron came up and ordered a surfer on acid, and the bartender said he didn’t know what that was and looked it up on his phone. Aren’t these basic 101 drinks? Sadly, we won’t be back again.

This place is really cool. Live rock band on a Monday night. Someone’s review said that the drinks were $ 5 but a simple jack and Coke was $ 8… Super casual vibe though.

The bartender was rude, he had a problem with me when I told him I wanted to close my card and since he apparently didn’t understand he was condescending and rude to me when I just asked for my final bill.

This place was pretty crappy, was visiting from out of town for a friends birthday, the place is unbelievably small and crowded the bartender makes the drinks so watered down, I feel like most bars here do, the dj was terrible nothing good about this place no room to dance or talk the only great thing was the dollar tacos out in the back

I mean I guess this place is cool. if you’re a vampire and like to hang out a lair with your kind. That’s the vibe I get at least. It’s very dark and looks sort of like a scene from Nancy Drew in an old abandoned theatre. Lol. But other than that I guess it’s ok, just nothing special. OH. And they made me take off my snapback since they did not allow them inside. However, when you have had one too many drinks you are bound to forget some details and bar hop lol. I went back to get my hat the next afternoon but they claimed to not have it. I just don’t understand why a bar would make you take your hat off and leave it with the bouncer!

I’m not a huge fan of downtown Fullerton bars or live bands so I might be a little biased. They have a nice venue and nice seating(booth), especially if you want some live entertainment on a Sunday night. As far as the drinks go, it’s not spectacular but drinks are drinks so they don’t disappoint. The crowd is mostly young Caucasians, probably from the local Fullerton College or CSUF. They have more of a Rock and Roll feel. I don’t think it was anything special. Their bathrooms are clean and their bartender was cordial.

Bartender Bill is THEBEST! He has an amazing announcer voice… ask him about it. He has the most interesting stories and knowledge.

Been here for the first time since moving back to the area… Came on a Saturday and the crowd was super chill, the bartenders made tasty drinks(old fashioned & a Moscow mule) and the cocktail server, Suzie, was super attentive and nice. The security was well staffed, Glenn took great care of us in helping us get a table/booth. We had such a fun time! Definitely going to come back with my friends…

Bill the bartender is very classy. The Martinis are only 5 bucks! Chill place if you want a quiet spot in the afternoon or on a weekday. DO try Bills old fashioned. It’s delicious. The red lighting in here and old furniture is soothing. Fullerton’s oldest drinking establishment! Used to be a speakeasy!!!

Bouncers here are complete assholes prey on drunk girls and rather than help make guests feel safe make bad situations worse. Complete pigs.

We were looking for a place to have a couple of drinks while visiting in the area and thanks to Unilocal we ended up here. The drinks are on point. The bartenders hook it up! Every drink was strong and well made! Why can’t more bartenders take care of their customers like they do here? When we entered to our delighted surprise there was a band playing. The band was awesome! I was a bit disappointed that the band left around 1 and so did everyone else. Unilocal you told me 2 am! It was a Tuesday so maybe that wasn’t the worst of things. I guess it’s not goin’ up on a Tuesday.

Ahh yes, the Continental Room is where I like to get my ratchet turn up on in DTF! The décor suggests otherwise, as it looks pretty classy with the dark red booths and dark wood, but don’t be fooled. You better get ready to get down and dirty. First of all, no cover is great. The area is kind of awkward because it’s very narrow, and leads to an extremely small, crowded dance floor. If you’re dancing crazily, you will dance off of the designated dancing area, and the security will point their flashlights at you and make you shimmy back. There’s a back room where you can sit around and creepily watch the dancing patrons on the TV screen, and one time I even recall people selling tacos back there. The music they play is awesome! I’m sure it varies day to day, but whenever I’m there it’s either popular EDM or… even better…2000’s hip hop. If you’re around my age and you don’t get excited when«Get Low» starts playing, I don’t understand you. Kidding, but seriously, nothing gets me into a dancing mood faster than that. Whoever was with the DJ also started pouring shots into people’s mouths and it was pretty fun. Cannot comment on the price of the drinks because I did not buy any, but they were decently strong and the bartenders were nice. Ladies restroom is tiny, with 2 stalls. Luckily, it wasn’t so crowded that it became a problem. The Continental Room would be even better if they had more space to work with. Don’t expect the scene to be anything like DTLA, it is very dive-y and much more casual. Always a good time here!

«Um, yeah, I’m too busy to make martinis.» These words were uttered by the«bartender» last Sunday, Jan. 18th just before he walked away as I stood there stunned. I couldn’t believe my ears. I still can’t. I’ve been going over this exchange in my head all week. Every time I made a martini this week at work, I thought back on my 15+ years in the industry and pondered if and when I had ever refused a drink order(aside from an intoxicated guest). I couldn’t think of one. There’s really no excuse for this. I don’t ever« Unilocal» but I was just so taken aback that I had to say something. If a grocery clerk was rude to me, I wouldn’t think twice about it but this is my profession; it just really got under my skin. The one star in my review is for the hundred or so martinis I’ve enjoyed at The Continental Room over the years, most of which were expertly made on busier nights than last Sunday. Now, every time I make a drink that’s far more complex than a martini while I’m three deep at the bar, buried in drink tickets and truly«in the weeds», I will think back on my lazy friend and smile at just how lost he’d be working at a real bar.

A more accurate rating for this bar would be a 3.5, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The Continental Room is a quaint little bar in Downtown Fullerton where the younger generation flock. I went on a Saturday and the place was packed and loud. The DJ was playing mostly top 40 club hits from the 00’s and up and a lot of people were dancing. You can’t exactly have a conversation though, so this bar isn’t the place to meet up with someone for the first time to have a conversation. I rated this club so highly because the bartenders were very attentive to everyone and they were polite, but the drinks are pretty pricey. The atmosphere was aesthetically pleasing with deep red booths with an old-timey feel. For such a small place, they had quite a few places to sit. This is the place to go if you’re looking for the party.

I always have a great time here! Drinks are good and the bartenders are very generous with the amount of alcohol they pour you. I definitely get my money’s worth. I came here on a Wednesday night and an amazing band was playing. The four of them dressed up like the Beatles(suit and tie) and sang all Beatles songs! The band’s name was«A Hard’s Day Night». Super fitting if you ask me ;) it was really fun to just dance to their music and it wasn’t even a crowded sweat fest. It’s definitely a lot more crowded on the weekends to the point where you have to squeeze through people to get from point A to point B. But that’s anywhere in DTF on the weekends :)

Downtown Fullerton is not my bag. More often than not, this area is filled with bros, drunken heels, and overly priced drinks. That’s why The Continental Room has me swooning each time. Deco: 4 stars The thing about this place is it is classy. Not classy like a suit and tie restaurant, but classy like the sinfully exploitive nature you would find at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The walls are a passionate red with booths that arrange themselves neatly across the bar. The open space is big enough to dance and the bar area itself is an oasis for those who are thirsty and in need of libations. Bartenders: 5 stars To match the class and style of the bar, the bartenders are dressed in white shirts, ties, and vests. Fashion hasn’t died; it’s just been residing inside this modern speakeasy. On top of that, when you ask them for drinks, they are knowledgeable and give you the type of time you would expect for paying high amounts of currency on alcohol. You don’t like something? They’ll fix it. Want a suggestion? They’ve got those too. Having both service AND knowledge, what a novel thought. Drinks: 4 stars If you are a fan of strong drinks and hard liquor, this establishment has it in spades. They make a good old fashion and tasty gin & tonic. As both drinks are on the upswing of popularity these days it’s great to know such classics are still made with the details to give you an energized awakening in each sip. Conclusion Though this luscious laboratory of liberating libations lies on the outskirts and far from the hustle and nonsense of the interior of Downtown Fullerton, the magic inside cannot be faked nor tampered. The Continental Room is the place you would be proud to tell your friends who know what quality drinks are without bringing down those who are simply looking for a great time. So if you ever wonder where I might be if I ever stray to this domain, look for me wearing a bow tie and a smile at The Continental Room. Cheers!

Pouring heavy, absolut luv this place. Friendly service tip your bartender and everything goes right. Drink and be merry, good company is all you need. We were able to enjoy our cocktails after closing, why because we are chill awesome peeps. Here pass to 2, that’s how we roll! Friendly fast service bartenders are quick, and chill. Tucked away in a booth watching the frolic unfold. Yes, life is good.

This is my least favorite bar that I have been to in DTF. Its long narrow, ill’ly lit, has a tiny dance floor floor in a side room in the back and weird bathrooms. A total dive that used to have been something I think. This place is oddly segregated into areas and one of the divides makes zero sense to me. Why split the bar into two? its just very peculiar and odd IMHO. *shrugs* The bar tenders are friendly but the drinks were not as strong as most of the other palces I have been too in DTF. Beer is always the same… but the drinks seemed to be a tight reign on the amount poured… The booths were mostly dark and are all lining the wall. Not a lot of room in most of them either, 4 to maybe 5 people can fit in one, unless you are tiny. Definitely not great for mingling as the booths give off a closed feeling aka, you cant sit with errr talk to us feeling… They do sometimes have DJs in here and dancing which definitely helps for the fun factor. Its always nice to shake the tailfeathers a lil bit and you can do it here. Overall though this place is just a lil bit off feeling to me and i am not as comfortable here as a bunch of other places in DTF… but ill go back no doubt…
