This place is amazing from the service to the food. Had the galbi and scallions buns and wish I had ordered my own because they were so delicious. also had beef Ramen bowl with an extra spice added it was to die for. Had half of it left to take home it was huge! If you like wine and looking for something sweet the plum wine was amazing. Thanks Koi Kokoro!

This is my favorite ramen place on Long Island for sure. I’ve had the miso soup, the regular kokoro pork belly ramen, the«miso little spicy soup» ramen with spicy pork, the seared tuna buns, and several different sushi rolls. Every single thing has been amazing. my boyfriend and I came here for the first time about a month ago and have already been back three times. the service is good and the servers are nice. it’s also affordable. this place is great!

I am so suspect of sushi in the suburbs. I hate to sound snobby but too many people don’t know what’s good and the reviews are largely based on misinformation. High marks are rarely given to the stuff I care about at a sushibar — rice, freshness, and rowdiness. So, there were some traditional warning signs — no bar, potentially Korean, experiments with the signature rolls and even deals to encourage more fabulousness in the rolls — but I decided to just roll with it and give it a chance. I was really surprised that it was excellent through and through. First of all, and probably most importantly, the texture of the rice was spot-on — exactly the chew the rice is supposed to have. So, when we got the bon bombs, which turned out to be like a round, concise version of what I am used to with nigiri, it was a remarkable surprise how good it was. A sampler of 16 pieces(tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, lobster) was $ 18. Other sushi tasted fine but whatever you put on that rice will be good. Dessert of the shrimp tempura miso ramen — another one, surprisingly good — the major accent of good being with the tempura. Prices are fine. Staff was nice and accommodating. Customers were finer than could be expected. Sushi chefs seemed bad-ass. I would totally come back here again and recommend to anyone.

I was excited to try this place since one of my coworkers recommended it as the best ramen in Suffolk County. Once I walked in, I knew I was in trouble. The place is more a trendy Korean-Japanese fusion place than a ramen house or sushi bar. Not at all what I was hoping for. It was too late to go elsewhere, so I went ahead and tried the«House Special Kokoro Noodle Soup» in beef. What came was terrible. It was a salty thin soup with veggies that did not belong in ramen. I asked the waitress and it seemed like they also have a pork soup that actually has a different broth(I had assumed that the protein choice only applied to the toppings). Could they actually have a decent tonkotsu? Unfortunately, their pork ramen was terrible as well. Still overly salty and lacking in any depth whatsoever. Overall, a bad experience. I should just just walked out once I saw that it wasn’t really a ramen house. They try too hard to do too many things. The hunt continues for decent food in Suffolk County.

First time here and the Grilled Eel and Cucumber roll as well as the California roll was fabulous. I will go here again for their lunch specials. I highly recommend it. Had the Miru Mountain; spicy tuna with avocado(inside) with spicy crab salad cream sauce and mango and lemon cream sauce. Excellent! I will recommend this dish highly! ‘Nuff said.

I have been in search of a true ramen place in Suffolk County for the past few years and I’m so glad I’ve found one so close to home. Its not Ippudo or anything but definitely really good for a LI restaurant. To start, we had the fried blue point oysters. They were so gooooood! The batter was nicely crisp and not oily at all. Then we tried the soy garlic chicken wings. Flavor was delish. We also had the galbi buns. I liked it but I wasn’t in love. I guess I really do compare buns to Ippudo or Momofuku buns and that’s hard to beat. Probably not the fairest comment. I’ve only had their miso ramen so far but I quite enjoyed it. There is a tiny kick to it unlike other miso ramens i’ve had before but nothing that anyone would complain about at all. On another note, we did try the unagi bon bomb but I didn’t see what the fuss was about bon bombs. It just tasted like an eel sushi. I’m going to go back and try a different kind next time. The service and décor was pretty awesome. Staff is super nice and the décor is authentic, clean, and relaxing of an atmosphere. I am definitely a fan and will be frequenting this place quite often.

For a small restaurant they offer an incredible selection of eclectic Japanese cuisine. I have never heard of half of their choices but had to try the Bön Bombs and the Tuna Pizza(which is always a personal favorite so it was a must). The spicy crunchy edamame was insane! If you’re into good spicy sauce ask for a side of their housemade hot sauce. There are so many things to try so we have to come back. My favorite part was the option of being able to get half and half rolls instead of a full roll. What an awesome option to offer to diners! Kudos for being innovative! The service was great. Fish was fresh and aesthetically pleasing. Will be back soon. Thank you!

Right on Main Street. Service was great, not too busy. They have good hours but no lunch specials on weekends. Got the Tuna avocado salad and ramen. Both were delicious especially the salad. My friends were satisfied with their sushi and entrees as well. Price is decent, for the 3 of us it was a little under 60 $! Excellent experience

Great new find in Islip if youre craving creative japanese food. This place has an extensive menu with lots to choose from. Totally recommend the stone pot, large enough to share, pork belly bun, bon bombs, unagi, spicy tuna, miso soup and end with mochi!

This place got a lot better. The rice is perfectly cooked, the sushi is always fresh, and the service is friendly. The menu is pretty unique with«sushi bombs» I think they’re called, and some unique rolls. Food always comes out pretty fast. The only thing they don’t have is bento boxes.

They are not playing games in here. This place is SO good… I came here strictly to try to buns and ramen and that’s exactly what I got… Galbi+Scallion Buns(awesome Korean BBQ beef Patty with greens on a pillow like bun! It was amazing) Chicken+Ramen(perfect, not overly salty like others… Chicken wasn’t exactly white meat chicken like I was expecting but it was still blasted with flavor) this would be perfect on a cold winter day! Lobster+tuna wrap(so good, 3 pieces. A real nice bite) Spicy tuna roll(need I say more?) I would love to come back here and try more stuff on the menu. Place is nicely decorated and not too big, staff was helpful. The chef came out and spoke with us which was cool, not many places do that… So kudos koi kokoro… I want the fried chicken buns!

I had to come back and try this place again. it definitely was an off night when I first came here because everything was skimpy and service sucked but this time all was great. all the items I ordered before I ordered again and the appetizers weren’t skimpy at all like the last time. and this time I could have shared the soup. The pork belly ramen is to die for. Plus the service was great!

Cannot say enough about this place! The sushi was amazing, I got the Saiko Lobster and my boyfriend got the Koiro Girl roll. We also got Ramen. He got beef and I got shrimp tempura. We left ridiculously full and very satisfied with the experience! The service was great as well. Definitely will be coming back soon!

Extremely impressed by this new Japanese Tapas place on Main Street in Islip. You can see how passionate the owner is as he takes the time to visit and engage with the customers, and check final plating from his staff. The variety of the menu reminded me of my time in Japan. From the rice buns stuffed with beef, fish, or pork, to the Bön Boms, to the speciality rolls, etc. The menu is so extensive and quality of the sushi so good that I have to go back. Even the Miso soup was vibrant in depth of flavor. The dishes were artfully plated, and the tapas serving pace was right on. Can’t wait to go back again. C

My Girlfriend and I just got back from the best sushi dinner ever! Started with the Ahi Tuna Pizza absolutely incredible flavors and texture. We then shared the Crunchy Egg Salad(sorry didn’t get a pic, devoured it so fast didn’t have time) this dish was so unique and yummy! We then each had the Miru mountain which never disappoints, and shared koiro lady, all yummy. I almost forgot the complimentary spicy edamame that was given as well. All in all the best sushi meal ever, and I’ve eaten sushi all over NY
