Good food, good pies. Haven’t had a bad experience here at all. Always good service.

Came for 2 pies today. Unbelievable the customer service. Hostess was put out she had to come help, then upset the phone rang, then told me well you have to wait so I can helpbothers. Wow. Meanwhile young kid in next area asking about a job and Hostess there drilling him loudly and rudely about how did he hear they were hiring. Wow. Not the same place it use to be.

The biggest deal for the menu is now SOUTHWEST which s nothing more than Crushed Red pepper and black pepper smeared over everything that is cooked in this place. I had a chicken breast salad and the chicken was so spicy I only ate my corn bread. I won’t be returning to my once favorite place to eat at. That and you had to trip someone who worked there for refill of ice tea. No, I just crossed off another place to enjoy dinner at. It’s funny cause we can go up to Tehachapi any night of the week and eat there and never have a bad meal.

Been going here for a couple of decades. Decent food, great staff, nice atmosphere/decore and rarely have a problem with noisy guests unlike soooooo many other places. Are they perfect? Of course not. Problems encountered, and there have been comparatively few, are one off and inconsistent. My biggest gripe? They stopped serving the beef strogenoff some time ago.

Food was what you would expect from a Marie Callendars. Unauthentic tacos, canned black beans, decent pot pie, salty turkey, etc but filling and decent. That said, this location is getting two stars for being severely understaffed. We had a large group, yes, but even with that it took almost 3.5 hours between getting seated, our orders and finishing our meal! I don’t blame it on the waiter but she could be smarter in checking on how many pot pies were left before coming back and telling us they were out, forcing half the group to reorder once again. Please hire a few more staff members!

Are you kidding? The table in the corner at the top of the ramp is great for holding small business meetings!!! Food is always great and the staff, some have been there since gas was .99 are still attentive, professional and very knowledgeable of the menu.

Great Server(Sabrina) but house understaffed. She was running her butt off while the Manger was out front, the bar tender was tending and empty bar, the bus person was walking around aimlessly and the hostess was never seen after she sat us. Waited 30 for food to get to the table which of course was cold. Had to find the coffee pot and pour my own coffee. Not the servers fault, Management and poor planning is to blame. Food was below average for a MC restaurant. Disappointed.

Yikes. We must have come on a bad day. The service was ridiculously slow. Our server blamed the kitchen, but she didn’t refill our drinks and forgot things we requested so it’s hard to blame the kitchen on those things. It ended up being the world’s longest lunch. Food was good. Price was reasonable.

I wanted to rate better but between slow service and a menu that I had to resort to my third choice before(they were out and out), I should have just gotten the salad bar alone which is the bright spot of this place in my view. Its obviously not well managed if it is out of so much of the stuff listed on the menus. Also the third choice meal I did get was average at best, clearly not a taco place but the better options I was in the mood for were not available.

Had the Sunday brunch yesterday and it was delicious! Tons of choices and they did a good job of keeping everything fresh and clean. I had a shrimp and mushroom omelet — oh boy! The pie portions were just right too — they can be a bit overwhelming normally. I notice a lot of negative reviews — particularly about the service but I’m happy to report it was tip top!

B rating. Only one other couple my age, and the rest were 70 ir older. $ 5.00 for a slice of pie and $ 2.89 for a cup of regular coffee. I could have had a full meal at Dennys for the same cost. Wait staff was clueless and arguing with each other. None asked if I or my company needed anything before rushing us the bill and then ignoring us. I almost walked out. I doubt anyone would have noticed if I wouldn’t have paid.

I took my dad here to get lunch and we had a bad experience with the waitress. She showed us to our seats we ordered our food and we though all was good. About 30 minutes goes by and out waitress hasn’t returned. We found her flirting with a young man at the bar. We ask her How much longer the meal is going to be? she said any minute. She brings My order out and tells us that the rest will be out in a minute. 30 minutes later she brings out the other plate. That time my food is cold. I will still eat the pies here but i will never again dine in here.

Had a large, delicious piece of Chocolate Silk pie this afternoon. My daughter had a slice of the Lemon Meringue. We both thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon treat. So, the pie is great. However, we had to wait at least 5 minutes when we entered the restaurant to even be greeted. There was a large group waiting to be seated, so maybe the staff thought we were part of the group? I didn’t see any hosts or hostesses around for several minutes. A family in front of us went looking for a hostess, and they were promptly seated. We did the same when the host returned. Once seated, we were served right away, and the rest of the visit was uneventful and pleasant.

I’ve heard horror stories about the service here, but only just came to check it out. We came in pretty late on a Friday, and it was packed. We wondered why the waiting area was full after 9pm, but then realized it was graduation weekend for nearby schools. No worries, we were only there for pie and could sit at the bar, so we got seated quickly. Our server seemed a bit stressed, which makes perfect sense for the night. She was friendly enough, though, and we were never kept waiting for anything. We ordered five pieces of pie and some coffees, everything came quickly and was very tasty. Overall, it was a great dessert run for us, but it really wasn’t a good way to judge the«normal» experience one would get if they went for dinner.

I’ve given this place many chances, but for some reason they always seem to mess it up. The food is alright, they honestly need to stick to making bakery items and their delicious pies. Anyway, regarding the customer service. I don’t know if they don’t hire enough waitresses, but they always keep us waiting forever just to place our order, and they never refill our drinks. I just went there today and I was disappointed again. Not even going to try this place anymore. The only good thing about this place besides their bakery items are the fried green beans. Those are delicious!

The pies are excellent! The Turkey dinner on Thanksgiving day also used to be excellent, but seems to have slipped over the years and the service seemed much slower. The set menu for the holiday is a choice between Turkey or Ham entrée with appropriate sides. Cornbread used to be an automatic along with a choice of soup or salad, but now you have to choose between one of the three for your starter. I had the salad, which seemed to have been assembled quite a few hours earlier. The entrée seemed quite a bit smaller overall than in previous years, particularly the sweet potatoes, but it was still tasty and the turkey breast wasn’t overcooked. Perhaps our server was just new/inexperienced but it took 3 different explanations to get him to understand that we wanted a whole pumpkin pie to take out with our order. Desserts took over 20 min to arrive after that! I also had to ask for whipped cream with the slice of pie that came with the dinner. Our drinks were never refilled and another server had to take our plates after they’d sat empty on the table for 15 min. There was very little, if any organization when it came to the people wanting to pick up a pie vs. those who were there to dine. People who had reservations seemed to wait nearly as long as those who didn’t in the chaos that reigned when they opened at 11. If I were rating this experience solely on the pie, it would be a 5+ stars, but service and cuts in the traditional goodies brought the whole experience down.

Stopped by to get a pie, strawberry pie that is. No one was at the side pickup counter & general store. They offer a few items besides pies in this small but yet affective area. Once the young lady was at the counter she helped my girlfriend, myself and two other parties get pies. As for the pie, looked delicious and tasted wonderful but the strawberries need a bit more time, tasted a bit ripe to me. Marie Callendars always offer great pies.
