I’ve only ordered takeout from wasabi. We order from here about once a week. The sushi here is standard, and on par with other sushi places in the immediate area. It’s not amazing but it’s also not bad! It’s good, standard fare. We’ve tried nearly every sushi place in a 5 mile radius and we keep coming back to wasabi.

Seriously one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had in years. Got the 2 roll lunch special($ 9.50) with an friend on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. Comes with a small plate of iceberg lettuce smothered in watery carrot dressing and a bland miso soup. Sushi rolls contained a measly skinny 6 pieces each. Also ordered a spicy Kani salad($ 6.50) and the waitress tried to convince me not to get the combo salad, but said I would still be charged for it even if I didn’t want it. Very confusing. Kani salad was actually advertised in the menu for less than what I was charged. Waitress FLIPPED out when I asked her about the discrepancy. She basically yelled at me like a child and refused to let me get a word in about the injustice and arguable violation of various false advertising laws. Will be disputing my credit card bill and not returning. Do yourselves a favor and don’t subject yourself to the same abuse me(and it appears others from similar reviews on here) have faced.

I used to really enjoy coming to this local place. However, the last 2 times I have come the service was very poor, and I would even go to say the waitress was upset and gave my family an attitude by not ordering more or asking for more ‘water’.(when we each ordered a plate). Due to the poor service, I had to change to a more upbeat place, where the staff treated you kindly.

This was the final time my family and I will visit Wasabi: I’d for a long, long time been«giving them a last chance», forgiving old cleaning supplies and towels at the sushi bar and mediocre service. Last month, the head server got angry with me because I didn’t consume the miso soup(which came with the lunch special) angrily yelling«Why did you order the soup if you weren’t going to eat it?!» though it was part of their lunch special. She was clearly miffed with me throughout the meal. Upon this last visit, we ate what tasted like old sushi, worse service than the usual bad service, no requests to refill my tea and — no kidding-refused to give us a «take out» box since this was the«lunch special». Clearly the head server advised our waitress to ignore us. At the conclusion of the lunch, we paid the bill sans a tip. The head server ran out after us, screaming that we needed to pay the tip! As we left for the final time, the head waitress angrily yelled that she«knew us» and I commented back«The end». Never had I received such rude and bad behavior from a proprietor and never will we be back. Pathetic.

Went with 2 friends for dinner, first up they served us miso soup in bowls that had cracks and chips missing. The salad was mainly lettuce stems and the ginger dressing was very watery. One friend ordered hibachi with steak and asked it to be done medium rare but ended up on the well done side. I ordered the spicy maki combo, rolls were very skimpy it seemed as if it was a 6 piece roll cut into 8 even then there wasn’t a lot of fish. Tuna tasted odd and seemed really bright red. The seaweed around the roll was also hard to chew and was quite moist as if it might have been sitting around for a bit. Overall the restaurant had non-attentive waitresses, even though we were the only people there. Soy sauce on the table ran out during my meal and there was no one around. Only positive was that the food presentation was good.

Cute spot with a great vibe! The food was great! Fresh fish for the sushi and great price for the lunch specials! Staff was friendly and helpful. The food came out quickly and everything was delicious! Miso soup and salad weren’t up to par, but all of the appetizers and main courses were delish! Sushi was very fresh and flavorful and the chicken lettuce wrap was to die for! Definitely will return soon!

Not a fan. Sushi was not flavorful and the food was forgettable. I gave it a second chance, but was disappointed. Go elsewhere.

Love Wasabi! They are super nice and never mess up you order! I take out from here all the time and they even deliver. The sushi is fresh and all the apps are delicious! The Indian pancakes are so good! So happy someone told me about this place!

I’ve dined in a few times, but ordered delivery more often. When others have joined me, they enjoyed the meal. The selection and quality is very good. Rock Shrimp, Tar Tar, Tuna Sashimi Pizza„ Pineapple fried rice, Basil Chicken, Chilean sea bass are all favorites. There are quite a few rolls that I enjoy. Not to mention staples like Shumai & Gyoza, and the ginger dressing salad. This is one of two favorite Japanese restaurants. The other is in Riverdale.

This is my 83 year old mother’s favorite restaurant, so of course we go there, whenever we visit Mom. It is in the same space as Marimo, whose owners retired. I don’t think it’s bad, just kind of weird. They feature a number of signature complex sushi rolls. It seems that all or most of them are covered in a large amount of very sweet sauce, as are many of the other dishes from the pan-Asian menu. Which I guess is fine, if you like everything sweet. I ordered their chirashi recently. It had a huge portion of good quality sashimi on it, but also a distracting and large array of shredded daikon and other superfluous garnishes, no wasabi, and not enough rice. Next time maybe I’ll order a conventional selection of a la carte sushi and appetizers, and see if I get something that is less creative, but more pleasant to eat. My stomach often is upset after eating their creations.

We’ve been regular customers for a while and always enjoy their food. Recently I was disappointed that their service was so slow and wrote a review about how they handled the situation. Today I received a letter of apology and gift certificate for the event. Therefore, they clearly do care about their customers. I’m now confident they’ll work out the kinks of meeting customer needs as a high demand business.

A very good sushi joint. The fish is always fresh and tasty. The fancy rolls have creative combinations. Definitely try the lobster roll– it is sweet, fruity, and delicious, since it is made with mango, which makes it an awesome summer treat! They also have decent dinner specials. The salad is the one area that somewhat disappoints. It is just iceberg lettuce with ginger dressing. If veggies are your thing, you may want to go with something else.

Chinese-owned Sushi joint in Larchmont. It’s not bad, but not great. The quality of the sushi has noticeably gone down since it first opened. Not bad enough for you to get sick, but just doesn’t taste as fresh as it used to be. This is especially noticeable with their lunch special sushi&sashimi dishes.

I ordered a sushi bar plate that came with a salad or miso soup. The salad was disappointing. Iceberg lettuce that had too much water that had not been dried. Then I got my sushi plate. The sushi was excellent. Good quality ingredients, knowledgeably prepared, and nice plating presentation. I’d go back

I was excited about trying Wasabi, because there are no sushi places in my neighborhood. I am happy to frequent Red Plum for my fix, but on a nice day where I feel like taking a long walk and having a light and relaxing lunch, Red Plum is too far! I decided to finally hit this place up a few weeks ago – it has been open for a year now. I walked in, and Wasabi was almost empty, save for two tables(out of about 20). I should have guessed why. The sushi was really not all that fresh. I could smell the fish. I couldn’t even finish the California roll… In fact, all the rolls were bland, as was the miso soup, and the portion of salad they gave me was meager. My boyfriend ordered the mango chicken, and although the flavor was good, there were way more vegetables and sauce than there was mango or chicken! I will definitely be skipping this place in the future.

Only eaten here a few times, but it is always only mediocre. Service is fast. Like fast food. Their spicy salmon roll is very good though! I must say! Try one of the better sushi joints in Mamaroneck…

Our third visit to this relatively new incarnation. There were two previous Japanese restaurants here, but we had no experience with them. The sushi bar is well kept and well stocked, and their presentations are excellent! Two of us had sashimi dinners and one of us had a Sashimi-Sushi dinner. We shared a live hokkigai as an appetizer. All was very fresh and well presented. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Their maki too was well constructed, and very tasty. Previously we’d had dishes from the kitchen, and they too were excellent. The presentation and taste were both beyond our expectations. Service was good and the staff was quite attentive. Tea got refilled regularly and unobtrusively, well before it got low in the cups. The only issue is parking. Only street parking is available and it is not always easy to park close. We all heartily enjoyed our experience otherwise, and this restaurant WILL be a regular part of our repertoire
