Me-N-Ed’s Pizzeria

My family used to love the Me-N-Ed’s Merced location about 13 yrs ago. Apparently it is under new management now and how sad. Since moving back to Merced 1 yr ago, we have ordered take-​out and had no problems. Last night, however, we decided to go and dine in. Bad mistake. The place was empty, no customers at all. Walked in the door and all 8 or 9 ceiling fans are going at full speed and it was 60 degrees out, but it made it chilly inside. We were not greeted by a unfriendly and unhappy female worker. We ordered a large pizza ½ pepperoni and black olive and the other half combo. I asked if we could turn down or off one of the fans and the unfriendly and unhappy worker informed me that the A/​C was broken at the ovens and they are 600 degrees, so no the fans are the only air circulating in the place. Ok, never mind. We huddled into the back corner table as far away from a fan as possible. The pizza came out and delivered by the only other worker. First thing we noticed after she left it on the table and ran back behind the counter, was that the edge on 2 adjoining pieces looked like raw dough. Strange and made us wonder if the crust was cooked. As we were plating our piece of pizza, we noticed the toppings were not even cooked as we were scraping off the huge chunks of canned mushrooms, we also then noticed the green bell pepper and black olives were raw, the Pepperoni side did not even have an black olives as we had ordered. The pizza literally looked like they put the meats and cheese on, ran it thru the oven real quick, took it out and thru the bell pepper, canned mushrooms and olives on, sliced it up and brought it to us. Needless to say after the very unfriendly and unhappy worker encounters, this put us over the top. My daughter took the pizza to the counter to ask about the raw looking crust edge and the unfriendly and unhappy worker proceeded to tell her that there was an air bubble on that area of the pizza crust, so she removed it cause it was burning, but then said i can put the pizza back in the oven for you and burn it to show you ! My daughter said no, that’s ok. While we were cleaning up. A young couple walked in that miss unfriendly and unhappy apparently knew and she gave them a big smile and chatted with them at length while helping them order. Apparently their pizza turned out just fine and she personally delivered them their peppers and cheese. We boxed up the rest of our pizza to take home and finish cooking. Needless to say, we will never go to this location again, has to be the worst representation of the Me-N-Ed’s franchise. They have never updated the place still looks just like it did 13yrs ago, but dirtier !

I called to place an order and was put on hold for over 5 min… Decided to order here based on the Unilocal reviews and since I’m new in the area I wanted some bomb pizza … Had to wait 30 extra minutes at the spot for my pizza so took 1 hour total The pizza was meh I’ve had better would probably not go out of my way to eat here again

I didn’t like one in los banos but then when I tried the one in merced i was like how this pizza is totally different and tastes so much better! And cheap delivery too!

Very friendly staff. Stayed open to allow family to eat at own pace. Continued to serve walkins like us with broken AC and 102 ° weather.
Staff worked well together as a team. My family was at the opening on Redwood City (5 points) in lare 50’s. Good pizza chain.

Love Me & Ed’s. Pizza is crispy on the bottom, and the toppings are top quality. The restaurant has a bar and big tv for watching sports, and is always clean. My favorite of the chain pizzerias.

I travel a lot and one of my first priorities when I get into a new town is to find the best pizza joint. Well, I hit the jackpot when I walked into Me-N-Ed’s Pizzeria! Friendly staff, fresh ingredients, fast service, and a large menu. I hand the Hot Hawaiian which has pineapple, ham, bacon, barbecue sauce, and jalapeño. Amazing! I can’t wait to try one of their other creations. No need to search for a pizza place in Merced, CA anymore.

I did give this place a 1 Star before because I just wanted a simple triple cheese pizza, I didn’t understand why it was so difficult lol.
They are under new management now and do have new workers that are actually friendly. And for some odd reasons these workers get cheese pizza! Ahah
I havent had one complaint since then and i can honestly admit that. The place is always clean, the staff is super friendly, and the pizza is delicious! i usually always get cheese pizza lo but i do love the hot Hawaiian pizza chicken, white sauce, pineapples, and bbq sauce! (it does come with bacon but we dont really eat pork so minus that) Mmm and their sandwiches are delicious as well, we usually always split a Focciaa Turkey sandwich! so good! and dont forget the cheese bread with ranch! or their super meaty marinara sauce. Best and only pizza place we go to in town.

Really good pizza and really good service plus has a nice beer selection and a big tv to enjoy. Their tables and seating arrangements are really good. I have to give 5 stars because they really are outstanding. I’m from San Jose California and I moved to Los Banos a few years ago and I had tried the me and Ed’s out there but it wasn’t very good now I live in Merced and tried it here and it is sooo much better!

I love their pizza! I used to work with John at moutain mikes in atwater, very good customer service. If there’s something wrong with your order, he will get it right! The sandwiches are delicious, but order as soon as possible because they only make a certain amount. I love their garlic cheese sticks, and they make the pizza pretty quick. My sons love playing the toy machine and the Metallica pinball!

Best pizza place in town in my opinion. The style of pizza that Me N’ Ed’s makes is absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection every time I order my pizza. On top of that, every time I have ordered my pizza, they always have it ready by the time I get there (which I think might have something to do with them quoting me a time to give them extra time to prepare it, which is okay in my book.) The customer service here has always been great, and the employees are always kind and willing to help in any way that they can. I always enjoy giving them a tip when I come in here to pick up my food, just because I enjoy having this pizza place here in town. Wonderful place to come and munch down on some unique and tasty pizza. :)

Me-N-Ed’s is awesome. A good friendly place to get a good pizza.

At work we usually have our pizza days and Me-N-Ed’s is the place we always order. Friendly and we don’t have to wait long to pick up our pizza.

I am from Arizona so we do not have Me-​N-​Eds. My boyfriend is from the area and insist we eat here every time we come. It is great pizza made in ways I have never even though of.
The reason for 3 stars…
We ordered pizza for deleivery one night for the whole family to eat while we were in town. THe pizza was ordered and we were told it would take 60 minutes. Konwing it would take awhile because it was multiple pizzas they were ordered in plenty of time. After an hour and 10 minutes we called to find out the status. They apoligezed for the late delievery but they were on the way, they are located 5 minutes from the house. 20 minutes later, still no pizza. Another call was made and they apologized again and promised the pizza just left the store and went out. They offered to wave the deleivery fee becuase it was already on its way and they couldnt adjust anything. They said they would tell the driver but they have to go through the corporate office to be able to do anything else. The delivery man had no idea what was going on and we ended up still paying full price for everything. It was very disappointing to have had such terrible service from a place that the whole family uses so often.

What can I say, we are forgiving people. My family and I gave Me N Eds another shot. Went in on a Saturday night, it looks like they had just had a rush. Every table except for the ones occupied and the one we sat at was filthy — not just needing to be wiped down, like food, plates, napkins everything still sitting there ready to be bussed. We sat for 20 minutes while our pizza cooked, ate, talked and over an hour later… same tables were not bussed. There were at least 6 staff members miling around behind the counter. They had enough staff to clean the dining area. As we were leaving and a family was coming in they FINALLY began cleaning up.
Another nail in the Me n Ed’s coffin — they have a LOUD juke box playing and a big screen with ESPN on — very annoying.
Lastly I know it gets hot in the cooking area but in December does every single ceiling fan need to be on in the dining area?
It was freezing, loud, and dirty. Never again!

Yes, what you have heard is true, this place SUCKS. It pains me to say this because Me N Eds is my favorite pizza place. The pizza is always good at Me N Eds! But the customer service here suuuuuuucks.
The employees will take your order nicely enough but will take FOREVER! AGES EVEN! to actually prepare and give you that order.
My family and I were a «walk in» party and ordered our pizza and beer when we arrived. They took up to 30 minutes to serve us our beer. And the only reason we got it after so long was because we had to get up and ask for it. Keep in mind our pizza took even longer and had not been served when we finally got our beers.
It was not until another 20 – 30 minutes had passed that we finally got our pizza, i mean SHEEZ LUIZ PAL! an hour wait time for pizza??? na uh honey not in my kitchen baby!

I had the spinach, tomato, and garlic topped pizza. It was awesome. I have had a variety of pizzas and by far this is one of the best that I have had in the valley. This pizza puts Lil’ Ceasers pizza to shame. It’s worth the extra cash. I will definitely be coming again… whenever I’m not watching my waistline, of course.

It doesn’t take 45 minutes to make a personal pizza & 6 buffalo wings. I’d understand if the place was busy, but there were only 2 groups of 4 in the restaurant, and one person ahead of me waiting for take-​out. And it seemed like they had a ton of workers in the kitchen area. So what the hell was the hold up? That wait was ridiculous and it felt like an eternity.
The pizza itself was very good. Fresh toppings. And I liked the bbq sauce on their wings.
I would’ve given the place 5 stars if it weren’t for the ridiculously long wait time.

I love their Tuscan pizza!
Too bad this place is over priced and they keep on changing the discount price for UC Merced student. You now get 40% discount, but it only works on weekdays and it has to be during lunch hour only. Before it used to be 40% off and you can get it during dinner.
Their customer service can be rude at times especially when you want to score a good deal that they have on special. Always got to change the price and tell us that they do «not «offer such deals at this pizza parlor. I stopped going here for quite awhile now because I do not like their service. Save yourself from the expensive pizza and rude customer service and go somewhere else.

We came to this place very skeptical because of there only being 1 review, but this place was awesome!
First of all, the service was amazing. Increadibly nice people. We got a pitcher of beer, and they brought out cold frosty mugs for everyone. The wait for the pizza was average, like 10 to 15 minutes and once it was brought out, we were offered ranch dressing an marinara sauce for free!
Now for the actual pizza. It. Was. Delicious. We had a hot hawaiin (highly recommend it) and a veggie combo. The breading for the whole pizza was amazing, it tasted like garlic bread.
The price was incredibly reasonable. Our group of 5 paid 8 bucks each for an xl pizza (more than enough for us) and a pitcher of beer.
In summation, if you find yourself in town for just a night (like us) this is your place to eat.

After sitting in 105 degree heat for 6 hours waiting for my brother to graduate from UC Merced, TONS of cold beer and pizza was necessary.
