Awesome food prepared with love by a beautiful woman. Who could ask for anything more?

Good things come in small packages? That old saying has always met me in hit or miss fashion. Thank goodness we hit a big yes with this small cart located in a parking lot off of Hull! This Puerto Rican establishment run by Christina, PR born, mainland raised makes fresh, excellent tasting food with a very engaging personality. On our very first stop here, we ordered jiberito sliders, tostones, and Spanish rice. The first time we had a jiberito was in Chicago, at a place that claimed to invent them. It is a sandwich that uses pressed fried plaintains instead of bread. The sauce used here is better than the Chicago version, but this version was only offered with one meat filling, pork. We prefer carne(meat), but that aside they were very good. The tostones were cooked perfectly and only lacked the side of a garlic based sauce to put them over the top. The Spanish rice was also well prepared and had my son wanting more. With the minor tweaks noted above, plus offering something more than sodas to drink, this small package would feel really big. As is, it still is by far the best place to go in Richmond for a limited in depth, but tasty Puerto Rican food experience!

This is a great food truck in a good location, on Hull Street at the Harley Davidson dealership. The food and service are both terrific. I had one beef and one chicken empanadas and they had great flavor, were piping hot and not greasy at all. Both hot sauces are very good as well.

I figured as much as I use Unilocal I should start writing reviews. Well, here goes my 1st. I found out about Cristina’s through a co-worker and later on there was an ad on my Facebook news feed. The owners are friendly and the food is tasty. I had 2 empanadas(1 beef, 1 chicken) and a 2 tacos. I also had a bite of the pork sandwich. The tacos only came in pork, well at least according to the menu, and I didn’t ask otherwise. I was not disappointed. I loved the flavor and the hot sauce is amazing. I absolutely loved the hot sauce. The emanadas were good too, but I thought there could’ve been more meat. It seemed a little skimp. The beef looked almost twice as big as the chicken. The pork sandwich also looked small. I felt slightly cheated. However, the tacos were on point. Good portion, reasonable price, and delicious. The menu is very small and there were only 2 tables. I hope they add a few more items to the menu and a couple more tables to the dining area. It’ll be a while before I get to try this place again since it’s not on my side of town. But, if I’m in the area, I would definitely come back. 3.5 stars if I could, but i can’t so I’ll give it 4. It’s got potential.
