I liked the turkey burger and fries a lot. Very fresh and the fries were not greasy. Usually, turkey burgers are dry, not here. The price is a bit high, but since it tasted so good, I didn’t mind. Too many other places I have tried recently are way over priced for bad food, so I tip my hat to Flipside.

This a solid place for burgers. They have a good selection of different types of burger. Larger patties, higher quality ingredients, etc. Decent place for kids as well. Nothing out of this world, but a solid option if your in the mood for burger /dinner type fare.

I’m a burger-whore & this was heavenly! The place it’s self is nicely decorated. Spacious & clean. They have various burgers, salads, chicken strips to chose from. They serve beer as well as the regular refreshments, that’s a plus too. I got the Californian Sensation with garlic fries. The burger & fries were cooked to perfection! The flavors on both burgers were on point! They use fresh meat & produce & you can taste it in every bite. The staff was friendly & attentive. I can’t wait to go back & explore the menu!

Went on a Sunday night, not crowded. Friendly staff, huge menu with many options(burger & non burgers), clean, affordable, perfectly cooked burger, fresh salad. Took a little longer than say Habit or other gourmet burger joints I have been too, but worth the wait.

It’s been years since I’ve been here. It used to be way overpriced, but everywhere else caught up. Today it wasn’t crowded. I got exactly what I wanted; my burger was cooked perfectly. The buns are soggy and they don’t offer lettuce wraps with the included fries(available with the salad option though.) The music is 1950s, which I dislike, but that’s not part of the rating. Several people waited a long time for food, or there were errors, so be wary if it’s crowded. Tables are clean, condiments on every table. No hassle over not ordering a drink. Water freely offered.

Loved the environment and the food. Burgers well cooked, fries, and onion rings. I will definitely come back next time I’m in town. The milk shakes are great also.

Good points: Great customer service! Always pleasant and friendly. Food is delicious! Healthy options available. Prices are pretty comparable to any gourmet burger restaurant. Clean restroom. Bad points: One small tv for a sports game. Too much air… Windows are wide open!!! Bundle up! Parking is on Lakeshore… Good luck!

Absolutely amazing! The customer service here is great. I’ve been coming here for a few years with my boyfriend and we’ve always loved it and after our last experience I just had to write a review. I was craving a peanut butter milkshake but I didn’t see it on the menu. I know they have seasonal flavors so I was hoping that they might have peanut butter. I asked and the guy searched around until he found some and made me a peanut butter milkshake! He went above and beyond what he had to do. We will definitely be back

Came here for lunch, but did not leave happy. Their burgers are good my husband enjoyed his meal. However I asked for a chicken Caesar salad and received hamburger lettuce chopped up in a bowl with undercooked chicken meat, not at all what I had asked for. It was clear they had run out if lettuce for the salad but rather than letting me know so I could switch my order they substituted with dry hamburger lettuce. Poor judgement.

I placed my order through Caviar app, and had it delivered, so I can’t attest to the ambience or customer service. But I thought the burger was good, cooked to perfection, medium rare and juicy. Pretty big burger, so you get plenty of value. The fries were nice and crispy(even for delivery), I rarely finish my fries, but it was too good to go to waste.

So yeah I said I’d never go back, but I was craving a good salad so I did. My most recent experience was positive. The same flirtatious guy is still there… giving out free stuff to pretty people. But he seems to be more focused on his job as of late, for which I’m grateful. There is also always a girl at the register, which minimizes the instances of confusion I might have when being charged a different price. THANKS for the improvement :-)

Paaaaaiiiiiinnnfffuuuulllllyyyy sllllooooowwww. I hate leaving negative reviews but honestly, I can’t imagine what the service is like when it’s busy. Ordered California sensation. 20 mins later it’s finally delivered minus the usual avocado. «Sorry, avocado isn’t up to the chef’s standards. Would you like another topping in its place?» «Ummm, let’s see, what’s another topping that would be a good substitute for avocado?» «Yeah we don’t really have anything. Avocado is avocado.» Ok then. Thanks for that. I guess it would be asking too much for a break on the bill? Oh right I already paid you and tipped you. «Btw how are those beers coming along that we ordered?» «Should be coming along soon.» Ok I’m halfway through my burger by now, guess I need to go back up to the counter and nag the guy because he’s too busy watching the game. Burger was ok. I mean it’s tasty enough but not great. Onion rings were alright but fries were pretty standard and boring. Guess I should’ve gone with garlic fries. I dunno, if I’m honest this place didn’t really stand out from a five guys or m burger. Really wish I hadn’t tipped up front… Three stars because I’m not a monster.

I’ve eaten at this place a few times and their Garden Burger is really good, one of the best plant burgers I’ve had. The burger is vegan, but the sauce that comes with the burger is not. The side salad is good and the sweet potato fries are delicious.

Flipside is a kitchy, 50’s(ish) burger joint that plays doo-wop music within walking distance of the lake. Yes pleeeez! Burgers are generously sized and come with your choice of bread, cheese, veggies, and sauces. They have some specialty burgers — the Hangover stands out, smothered in cheese, an egg, bacon and fries — but you can also just get a plain burger, grilled juicy and served straight up. It’s not the best burger you’ve ever had, but it’s hearty, meaty and flavorful. The fries are reminiscent of McD’s, but in a crunchy, deep-fried, this-is-a-compliment way. Just don’t expect ‘em thick cut or with skins, cuz ain’t nuthin’ healthy ’bout these potatoes! The fun ambiance feels like a diner, and the customer service is stellar. The meat isn’t organic; they state that it’s hormone-free, which is a step up from some other meat patties, but not quite the quality you get(and pay for!) at neighboring joints. There are non-beef options, like the fried chicken sammy and salads. But most importantly: they serve a nutella oreo milkshake that will BLOW. YOUR. EFFING. MIND!!! Share it with a friend so that you don’t hate me(or yourself) in the morning!

Great burgers and other sandwiches. Excellent onion rings. Curly fries are not well seasoned and they don’t have ranch dressing to dip them in, but sweet potato fries are yummy. Great value. Staff are always friendly and accommodating. Chairs are not comfortable and no liquor license so if you want a brew with your burger you’re out of luck. It’s our favorite burger joint – and there are other options close by. Update: they now have beer so it’s a complete meal now

Great food operated by warm great people. My kids and I always get VIP treatment and some great encouragement and conversation. The food is always fresh and tasty. I especially love their milkshakes… can’t wait for our next trip there!

#Glamarattiapproved: you must dine in, preferably during high noon or as the sunsets on a sunny day. Be seated near the window. Classic burger x fries x a shake will suffice for an all American meal. Bring one of your close friends and host light hearted conversation with plenty of laughs. Or watch a sporting event on their large plasma screen television.

This place has a good sized menu with burger options that include a Garden Burger patty or a portabello mushroom. They’ve also got a few non burger sandwich options, some salads, a variety of fried sides, and shakes. Burgers are around 10 dollars and come with fries or salad on the side. For 1.59 you can update to sweet potato fries, onion rings, and the like. I got the neapolitan shake(~4.50) and the California Sensation Garden Burger with the garlic fries on the side. The shake was quite good, nice and thick. The burger had a decent bun(soft, but didn’t totally pancake when you held it) and a standard GardenBurger patty on it. Flavor wise, pretty good, though I would say the biggest thing was that the quality of the veggies wasn’t great. My main issue with the meal was that there was tons of totally raw garlic on the garlic fries. Typically, garlic fries have garlic and parsley lightly sauteed in oil with either some salt or parmesan added. This was just roughly chopped and all over the place, and the garlic smell/taste was super overpowering. I really enjoyed the fries once I knocked the garlic off, but I’m pretty disappointed given that I’m such a huge garlic fan. If you can handle lots of raw unsalted garlic, go for it, but I wouldn’t recommend. The smell was pretty off putting and I think made it harder to fully enjoy the taste of the burger. I’d definitely come back to this place if I’m craving a burger, and will try their other offerings and see how they compare.

The first time I came to Flipside the food was pretty good. I got the California burger and fries and the burger was really tasty with standard fries. For some reason, even when you’re ordering a burger with lots of toppings, they put lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle on the side. I don’t want that many toppings on my burger, but it isn’t clear that they come on the side regardless. Anyhow, my companion leaves her veggies on the side of her cowboy burger and I leave my pickle on the side. When we finish our meal an employee, I’m assuming of owner/manager level, comes by and scolds us for wasting food. Seriously, he scolds us. «Do you know how much food is wasted in this country… blah blah blah.» I’m kind of stunned that this guy, who puts the veggies on the side of a burger that already has 2 or 3 toppings(who in their right mind adds the additional red onion to a burger that comes with grilled onions?), thinks he is right to scold his customer. If you were really concerned about the environmental impact of food waste, you’d leave off the veggies unless requested or at least put up a sign by the register informing customers of their addition on the plate. Otherwise you just seem like a pompous ass. Not a good look to customers. I very unwisely gave this place a second chance and was really disappointed by my burger. The pineapple teriyaki burger was a soggy flavorless mess that again came with the extraneous veggies that I ate, but didn’t really need. Again, why would I add raw red onion rings to a burger with grilled onions?! The patty was way overcooked, the pineapple felt like it had been grilled in a large batch early in the day and they just slap in a bin to use throughout the day. The bottom bun fell apart from way too much bottled teriyaki sauce. The sweet potato fries were tasty, but I’m pretty sure I can get the same fries in Trader Joe’s frozen section. Plus, it took forever to get my food. Two chances and both had glaring errors in service and the food quality has clearly deteriorated. Sorry, Flipside, but I’ll look forward to trying out whatever restaurant pops up in your spot in a year or two.
