We made a last minute decision to stay in Ogunquit for the remainder of our fall foliage trip. The Beauport Inn was one of the only b & b’s that had any openings as there was a fall festival going on. We were met by Linda, and checked-in early, which was greatly appreciated. We were in the Moulin Rouge suite and found the suite to be overall very comfortable & in good condition. The Moulin Rouge room is on the main floor of the house, and Ellen & Linda were entertaining guests on Friday night, which is their absolute right as it’s their home… However, we were trying to enjoy a quiet romantic evening in our suite listening to music & reading… their group was a bit loud with the television blaring. It didn’t go on past 11pm, but it was bothersome. Yes, we could have said something, but I didn’t want to start the weekend off on a sour note since we would be staying for three nights. On Saturday night, they were entertaining again, with other guests, who were friends of theirs for Ellen’s birthday. The tv/music was loud again… My feeling is that if they are celebrating for a weekend, to not have any guests as it just made us feel awkward and that we were party crashers. Breakfast just average… our crepes were cold. Again, we were eating with their friends, which was fine, but there were a lot of inside jokes, etc. One of the things I love about staying in b & b’s is meeting new people, but this crew didn’t seem that interested in talking to us. Upon checking in Linda told us there would be no housekeeping as she«doesn’t like it when she was traveling and having strange people going thru her room.» We were then instructed if we wanted our trash taken out, sheets changed, or new towels, to ask it would be done. I’m the greenest eco-friendly person and don’t ever require new towels or linens, but I do like to have the room serviced with bed made & trash taken out. Again, it just felt off to have to ask for trash to be taken out & I felt like I would be inconveniencing someone. Our bed was a bid lumpy & uncomfortable. There are much better options in Ogunquit, and closer to the beach/Perkins Cove. Beauport Inn isn’t a short walk to town. Yes, they do have bicycles but I wouldn’t want to ride down the long road, and cross a very, very busy highway.

The Beauport Inn was lovely, and Linda and Ellen were wonderful hosts! They were so welcoming and yet gave us plenty of privacy. and the breakfast was really something! They were even willing to accommodate my special(vegan) diet. The surroundings were incredibly beautiful and serene. and just a stone’s throw from Ogunquit. We highly recommend stopping in nearby Wells to go apple picking and visiting the Wells Nature Reserve, a very pretty and special place. We also recommend dining at Frankie and Johnny’s – one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time! And don’t forget to enjoy the jacuzzi and steam room after a long day of beach-side strolls! It was a perfect romantic getaway!

Great place to stay… the hostesses, Ellen & Linda are gracious and the food they prepare is scrumptious! The place is gorgeous. I stayed in the fall so I couldn’t use the pool, but soaking in the hot tub and watching the night sky with it abundance of stars was so peaceful and relaxing!

I do not consider myself to be a ‘bed & breakfast’ kind of person, but if every B&B was like Ogunquit’s Beauport Inn, I definitely would be. The owners, George and Cathy Wilson, are phenomenal, interesting, salt-of-the-earth people, and they are excellent inn keepers. Their home is as unique in style and décor as it is functional, lending itself to days spent poolside with a book surrounded by acres of wildflowers and trees. A full breakfast is served each morning and it is exceptional. Each room has its own unique amenity: one has a gazebo, two have private screened-in porches, one has a garden entrance, others have fireplaces, etc. There is one suite, three other rooms and also a full apartment. The central air conditioning is a gift from heaven on hot summer days and the pool is amazing — so much more than just the standard cement hole-in-the-ground filled with water. Personal touches abound and it seems that everywhere one looks there is a unique piece of artwork or furniture or sculpture or planting that compliments the whole without being gaudy in the least. Having frequented Ogunquit for ten years, I do not know why I never knew about Beauport before — perhaps because it’s a 15 minute walk from the center of town and I just never stumbled upon it until this past weekend. Quick list of other things I love about Beauport: no kids, no pets, no loud delivery trucks rolling by at 4AM as with the other inns downtown. Well worth the short walk from the center of town, I highly recommend the Beauport Inn.
