5÷17÷15 Lunch. Special sandwich: buffalo chicken. So good I’ll be dreaming about this. The red spice chips on the side were awesome. My companions loved their salmon salads and portable sandwiches. The portions are large.

I suppose this started because the location is convenient for me, and the menu is diverse, so it’s been a cure for indecision a few times. I used to refer to this place as «Panera + two bucks», which is only accurate in that you order at the counter, they bring the food out, and the first few times I went, the experience was consistently decent, if nothing else. They both have sandwiches, but I actually think most of Panera’s I’ve had taste good. Even as Panera Bread has raised prices, Ingredient has definitely outpaced them, while the food has gotten worse, in my opinion. I have gotten the buffalo chicken wrap in the past, which I liked, and wasn’t terribly overpriced at $ 8.95 with grilled veggies as the side. Well, now it’s $ 11.25. The cobb salad I got today was also $ 11.25. The toppings were sparse and unsatisfactory — dry chicken, a bit of avocado, a bit of boiled egg, so on. For comparison, Hy-Vee charges $ 5 or $ 6(depending on location) for a one-trip salad bar where you can make a far superior(and larger) salad(only the avocado is missing, to be precise, but they have dozens of other options). Just interesting context. Anyway, I think I’m done with Ingredient.

I’m not a fan of this restaurant. To be fair, I’m not a fan of the concept. It’s like going out to eat with your least decisive friend, and then they decide they’ll cook. Which might be kinda fun, if they were good at it.

Tried to call in 3x. Put on hold and then hung up on twice and ignored the 3rd time. Poorly done Ingredient.

Unimpressive. Stopped in for a dinner bite. We had the steak sandwich and a soup sandwich combo. The grilled cheese and soup came out cold, and the steak was so tough I couldn’t really get a bite without grabbing and tearing. Staff fairly indifferent. Ticket time ridiculous. Food meh to bad. Will NOT dine again.

I are lunch here today. Overall the atmosphere of the restaurant was clean and pretty casual. The food was ok, though the Italian Winter Soup was more like Italian Wedding Soup(unexpected). The salmon flats salad was delicious, though I still feel that $ 14 for a lunch entrée at a place that uses plastic cups is probably a bit much. The real reason, however, that I will not be going back to this restaurant is how rude and unhelpful their staff is. The girl at the cash register didn’t smile once and didn’t offer to help when it was clear that I had a question. I requested that my friend and I could split the meal and ordered two items expecting to receive an extra bowl and plate to split our food up. Instead, she split the items up and charged me $ 7 and my friend $ 13. Strange way to «split» a meal. Again, I questioned her and instead of correcting her mistake she just acted like I was an idiot. On the other hand, the new table busing girl was nice and though inexperienced, was actually helpful and also capable of smiling. If you’d like decent, overpriced food and a bad attitude, go to this restaurant to get it.

Ingredient provides tons of great options for all types. The custom build your burger option provides loads of ingredients to choose from, and plenty of vegetarian options. Great place.

Overpriced food because it pretends to be healthy. I have been there on a few occasions, I don’t know why, but I did. They have all those fancy meals on their menu but each time I get a rather mediocre food. Last time I got a gyro salad that was the special of the day, felt like the special means:“here is some stuff we would to get ride off, so we put it on sale”. The veggies didn’t feel fresh, gyro meat tasted and look like one of those frozen processed stuff, and why would you give a super thick tzaziki on a salad: it doesn’t mix. On another occasion I got a burger, I wonder if they deep fried that burger because I was soaked in oil and dry.

Food was good, except one of our meals was wrong twice and it took a long time to get our food despite having few customers,

FIrst timer here. Came in for a business breakfast meeting and ordered the Huevos Rancheros breakfast. First impressions… wasn’t quite sure how to order but figured it out. Not very busy. Nice décor and location. Sat down and they brought my food out. Second impression… i dont think they know what Huevos Rancheros are! They brought me a breakfast burrito with about 6 black beans in it and a side of pico. Ok, at first I thought… I misread the menu… but as I went back to the refill my coffee, I reread the menu. Nope, no mention of «wrap» or «burrito» or anything. As for the quality, I had the distinct impression that this was some type of pre-packaged and/or frozen burrito. Not terrible but definitely not something to write home about. I ate only half. Service was fine and the manager(my assumption) was very friendly. Conclusion… might, MIGHT… try it again for lunch or something but it is definetly off my radar.

We have eaten at the midtown ingredient on several occasions. Having tried a few different pizzas, sandwiches, and salads. We and everyone else we’ve spoken to agree that this establishment is a top notch medium priced restaurant. The staff has always been fast and friendly and the food is very good.

A nice light lunch but a little pricey. I like the modern look of this place. They have a small outdoor seating area that helps keep the congestion down during the lunch rush.

This is one of my favorite restaurants when the weather starts to warm up. I’ve been coming here since it opened and is my first pick for a summer lunch or dinner. Ingredient has a make-your-own style menu, as well as gourmet pizzas, salads, dinners, and breakfasts all made with fresh ingredients(hence the name). The restaurant is served similar to a panera, where the customers walk up and order, the food is brought out, and that’s about it. I get the same thing every single time I go. You just can’t get it anywhere else. I do a create-you-own salad with romaine, eggs, cranberries, avocados, candied walnuts(yum!) and chopped tomatoes tossed in peppercorn ranch. It’s a large and hearty salad that’s served with a roll. Usually I am scared when dressing is already on the salad, but this one is never swimming. I also get the incredibly flavorful tomato bisque soup. For the soup and salad, it comes out to be $ 14. The entrance is not set up very well. There are no longer large menu signs on the overhead. Customers have to grab a menu, figure out what they want, and then order. All while standing in the middle of the line, blocking anyone else from coming through. I can’t imagine what it would be like during a busy time. Students get 10% off with their student ID card.

My wife loves this place. Almost every time I ask her where she wants to get something to eat, she says Ingredient. It’s a very modern and clean establishment. The menu’s are raised high and you look at them while you are walking u to the register to order. They have specialty pizza’s, hamburgers, and salads. I usually get their ‘Create Your Own’ burger and turn it into a turkey burger with various toppings. My wife gets her same salad with various add-ons every time we go. The burger and salad portions are perfect and just right for the average person. The quality of the food is great too. Nice, crisp, and fresh ingredients,(hint: the name of the restaurant), and very good service. You order at the counter, take a number, sit at a table and put the number at the edge of your table and they bring you your food. The prices are a tad high though. For my turkey burger, it’s usually about $ 10. And for my wife’s salad, that’s about $ 10 as well. But if you think about it, it’s probably worth it considering you’d pay that much for these two items at a different restaurant. My wife would kill me if I didn’t say that we wouldn’t be going back, because we will. The food is fresh and tasty, and their location, in Midtown, opens up opportunities to go somewhere close and do something afterwards.

This place is pricey but good. I’ve done the build-your-own-burger several times with the veggie patty, and I learned to love it. The first time I was taken aback by the whole soybeans in the patty(I’m more used to mashed beans, and they’re usually black beans or lentils, not soybeans) and the fact that it kept falling apart. However, after I knew what to expect and learned to eat it with a fork and knife, I found it delicious! I love that you can add all kinds of goodies… roasted red peppers, avocado, fried egg, etc. The fries are the big, fat variety, and they’re yum. I got the caesar salad as my side once, and it was tasty but not executed well. It was served in a mug with huge pieces of shaved parmesan and 3 of the largest croutons I’ve ever seen. Seriously, each croûton was the size of half piece of bread… very pretty, but impossible to eat. I tried cutting the croutons, but have you ever tried cutting something in a mug? I ended up bashing them with a knife until they crumbled(I’m a very ladylike eater, in case you were wondering). I’ve also had the chicken noodle soup, and it may very well be the best chicken noodle soup I’ve ever had!(Not saying much, I’m not exactly a connoisseur, but still, it was awesome!) The falafel is good but nothing to rave about. Pros: Large selection. Alcohol. Customizable salads and sandwiches. Delicious, off-beat veggie burger. Chicken noodle soup. French fries. Cons: Price. Always very crowded at lunch and can be hard to find a seat.

The power of suggestion. I saw a review here and realized I had totally forgotten about this place, so I couldn’t help but to go on the way home. OK, it’s totally out of the way, but well worth the diversion. I ordered a grilled peppercorn steak sandwich and I have to tell you, it was fresh and a delishous blend of IN-GRE-DI-ENTS. YUM.

I honestly don’t know what all the fuss is about this place. Food is pretty pricey for what you really get. It’s a self-service type of place where food runners bring out your food– which honestly is pretty great but minus the fact that you can’t really communicate to people when you are not enjoying your food! Let’s go back to that one time I ordered a salad: Me: Dressing on the side please! Cashier: Ok! *Salad comes* *Drenched in dressing* me: T______________________________T REALLYNOW?! Let’s go back to that one time I ordered a sandwich: PECANCRANBERRYCHICKENSALADSANDWICH | 8.95 oven roasted all white meat chicken, celery, onion, sun-dried cranberries and toasted pecans tossed in light mayo, served on wheat bread me: *thinking… mm that sounds good and light mayo too. *Sandwich comes* *Lathered in mayo* me: T______________________________T ISTHISWHATTHEYCALLLIGHTMAYO?! @_____@ Really though, this has happened twice already and I really don’t know who to talk to since the workers are all mysteriously in the back somewhere. There was no one at the counter at all so I was left to pick out some bits of my sandwich and eat JUST fries for dinner. I left most of the sandwich on the plate and wrote them a note and stuck it between the sandwiches using the cellophane flagged toothpicks. In*gre*di*ent. v. never again

After loving my experience at the location in Lawrence, KS as few years back, I was definitely excited to learn that Ingredient was coming to Omaha. It’s a great fit for the urban glean of Midtown Crossing, and a regular stop for me and my family. The menu is huge and can be a bit overwhelming. I suppose this comes with the name of the place, as swapping out/adding ingredients is encouraged. I prefer trusting the chefs and ordering something off the standard menu. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Dim Sum Wrap(grilled coconut curry chicken, glass noodles, carrots, cucumbers, bell pepper, bok choy, peanuts, siracha, sesame sauce, in a spinach wrap). The wrap, served cold, was light, fresh, crispy and had a little zing — a good contrast to the side a French fries I ordered with it. On previous visit I’ve enjoyed their Caesar Pie, Thai Pie, Corner Pie and various pastries. Looking forward to diving into their burger and breakfast options in the near future.

I have tried Ingredient again and again and I am starting to think I go there soley based on convenience of living nearby because I honestly cannot say I love the food. Pluses: — Lots of variety(salads, soups, pizza, sandwiches, other…) –Clean and chirpy atmosphere, outside seating for good weather — Cool vibes insides, nice décor, and usually a lot of fellow diners — Deals on certain days, like one topping $ 5 pizza on mondays –Food comes out fairly quickly *Make your own salad is the only thing I tried so far that I like Minus: — I dont believe that the food is worth the cost –Inconsistency of things I have ordered more than one time * Soup too salty * Oatmeal too watery * Pizza dough/crust too uncooked * Chicken breast sandwich… didnt care for the texture * Salmon wrap was tiny, and salty for $ 9 Overall, I think they do an OK job with the food and I continue to come here out of convenience and fun ambience, but really, money is better spent in other places. I stick to the salads now, and just get what I know will turn out OK. I used to love their warm doughnut holes but it has been discontinued… lame.
