First tried these guys a long time ago in Fla. Seem the one in Orland has to go back and try it again. Great sandwiches and service. Worth the try

I was out shopping in Oak Brook, a couple of weeks ago. And wanted something fast to eat, Considering I’m a picky eater. The closest restaurant around was Fire house subs. Quiznos is my FAVORITE. But, I decided to give them a try. I DEFINITELY made a GREAT choice… I give Fire House Subs TWOTHUMBSUP!!!

Went here on a Sunday. The place was empty. Have never been to a Firehouse Subs before. The 2 girls behind the counter couldn’t stop talking to each other to we were there. They have descriptions of there sandwiches right above the shelves of chips. As I stood there reading, a woman holding a box said ‘Excuse me”. I looked at her and just stood there in amazement. She then gave me the raised eyebrows«move» look. So we did right out the door. The 4 in my group won’t be back to a firehouse subs again.

came here cause I wanted something different and though of this is just another jersey mikes or some other chain sub place that is okay and nothing special. Oh MYGOD!!! It was amazing. this may be my new favorite sub place. I had the Italian(yeah, I know so what), it was great. the meats tasted so fresh, the bread was good, the oils or whatever they put on it was just delicious. I even had to bring some home because it was so big. I cant wait till I find another firehouse to try other subs. This place is sooo good. SO much better than boring subway or jimmy johns. You have to try this place.

*Customer Service: Excellent. Staff is all enthusiastic and informative. Refreshing to see young employees enjoying their job! *Pop Machine: 99 flavors of Fun! Every drink you can think of… Awesome that I can now drink Flavored water instead of a Large cup of Sugar. *Subs– good selection & good bites! I wish they had Giardiniera instead of peppers. *Bonus– they ask to round up your bill to next dollar and donate that to First Responders! Amazing! That alone made my trip worth it! *Ambience– Love! Firehouse themed, and well done. Designer approved!

I’m torn between 2 and 3 stars. A place founded by firemen should have killer chili. I got bland, room temperature chili(hot chili was especially needed since the restaurant was freezing). The sandwich display was lack luster… It looked like they kicked it around and then threw it on the plate. The flavor of the chicken salad sandwich was pretty good and so was the beef. But not good enough to over look the chili and presentation.

Had the Italian and pork and slaw. A+. Forget these other sub stands. Here’s your one stop shop for sandwiches. Outstanding. Taste and texture is great and fresh ingredients coupled meets that are top notch! I felt like a real firefighter after consumption.

One of the best sandwhich joints I’ve ever been to! I’m so excited that they are opening up on Cicero, I no longer have to take the drive to Orland for a great sandwhich!

A bit better than subway. Not enough meat and too much filler for 12 dollars. Also don’t like the way it’s set up where you can’t watch them make the sandwich.

Oh my!!! Probably have been to this location about 20 times in the past 6 months lol and every time its the best!!! The staff is great and always greats you. I always get the steamer and its always bursting with flavor! They have a great hot sauce selection and you just need to go if you haven’t already!

If I could give it zero stars I would. Today was my first time trying firehouse subs, and it’ll probably be the last. I ordered a steak and cheese sandwich to go. My husband got the beef brisket with cheddar cheese. I took a small bite of my sandwich and right away noticed the odd taste and smell to the meat. I didn’t finish. My husband’s sandwich was ok, nothing to rave about, it was a bit too sweet from all the BBQ sauce. The employee taking our order was a bit too loud and talked so fast as if hurrying/rushing us. even though there wasn’t anyone in line or even in the place! I even told her. you talk too fast. As we waited for our subs. the employees were talking about who is working tomorrow and how to pack a box? Anyway their voices were extremely loud. The place was messy and a good mop would have made the place a bit more presentable. Not to mention the empty cooler/refrigerator for water bottles/juices was nearly empty. not at all appealing. Save your money, its definitely not worth it.

Good fast food subs. Reminds me of an upgraded Quiznos sub. Beef sandwich is delicious and you defensively have to try their sauces.

There are things I like about Firehouse Subs that will keep me coming back, but a few nagging issues that will keep me from putting it over the top. The restaurant is pretty cool inside, with an old fashioned looking coke machine that is anything but, dispensing well over 100 flavor combinations of old favorites. There are images of first responders and fire fighter trinkets from local departments, and you can donate your change to benefit funds that serve these brave men and women. As far as the food goes I have had two different sandwiches and they were both good, not great. As a fan of hot sauce they have dozens of varieties, the meat is always fresh, and there is a 500 calorie menu that I find to be quite satisfying for a lunchtime portion. I agree with an earlier poster on Unilocal, the bread is somewhat bland, and if there is an improvement to be had at Firehouse subs this is it. Overall a good value for my buck. My wife and I will be returning for lunch!

Don’t bother with this place. I ordered lunch for the office staff, and they do not deliver. The staff memebr who went to pick up said the staff at the restaurant was not very friendly, even though we had spent $ 45 on their food. The veggie sub that I ordered was essentially inedible. The bread was soaked completely through and it was doused in sauce and unsavory looking vegetables. We called the reatuarant to see if we could obtain a credit or refund on the veggie sandwich only. We were asked to return the meal to the restaurant! Most places, especially newer ones that want to keep customers happy, would simply credit that part of the order. I had to send one of my staff out a second time to return the food. I will definitely not be ordering from this place again. Too many other better options in the area.

Stopped in for a little lunch. This shop was clean and the employee’s were very professional. The menu was unique and I ordered one of the specialty sandwiches. It was the New York Steamer. It was VERY tasty. Nicely done. But… It was small. Not a good value for the cost.

What a great concept. We walked in and saw a couple looking at the New York FD jacket that was hanging for a display. There is a bunch of firefighter gear from local and other departments hanging in there. My kids and I just felt real good about the place. Now on to the food. Hot ham and turkey on wheat no cheese no mayo. Add the hot peppers. It was very good and worth every penny. Both of the kiddies had hot ham and cheese and they liked em. Rockstar service. The lady at the counter gave us the lowdown on all the subs before we ordered. Plenty of hot sauces to choose from on the counter. Its the first time I have seen a pop machine that gives out 120 different choices. Very cool. We really liked this place and look forward to going back.

Stopped in here today to try their subs. The place is pretty kool inside with some fancy Coca-cola machines and fire dept posters and items. They also have a large selection of hot sauces for pleasure if you want to add to your sandwich. Staff is friendly but food prep is a little slow. This is no Jimmy Johns so will need to wait a little for your food. On to the sandwich(take out). I had the Italian with everything on wheat. I must say that i was a little disappointed. The bread adds no flavor, no crunch and because i got it to go with all the trimmings it was a little soggy when i got home. Lets face it, when it comes to sandwiches, especially sub sandwiches, the bread can make it or break it. Jersey Mike’s has their bread down(wheat or white) because it is excellent, has flavor, has crunch and can deliver a crack with a light squeeze. The sandwich came warm with melted provolone, soggy lettuce, soft tomatoes, onions, mayo and Italian dressing. Needless to say that the dressing was too sweet for my taste. I like a zesty, vinegary Italian sandwich. This just didn’t have it. I didn’t even eat it all because it just didn’t do it for me. The taste and texture was not for me. Anyway i gave it 3 stars because it looks nice inside and there were many customers entering the place for lunch so obviously they like the place and product. If i do go back I will try different sandwich and see if it was fluke the first time.

What a cool concept and delicious joint! I ran in here with friends and grabbed a chopped salad, which was generous topped with green pepper, red onions, smoked turkey breast and provolone. The food was ready fast and the service was friendly. Lots of barbecue sauce options, too, if you’re into that on your sandwich. So the whole place is firehouse themed, and they ask if you want to round up your total to the next dollar to donate it to firefighter-related charities. I wonder how much they collect doing so, and I hope it goes to a great cause.

Stopped in and tried this place with my sister yesterday. I got the number 3– corned beef, pastrami, and provolone. It was delicious! Their sandwiches come hot –but they do offer cold chicken and tuna salad. [ If I remember correctly] They also have the cool 1000 choice soda machines and a very friendly staff. My only suggestions would be to add some sides to the menu other than chips.[NOT a big chip eater] and to maybe clean up a little more frequently. Will definitely visit here again some time.

Hands down my favorite sub place. I was super pumped when they came to Illinois. The subs are great. Though the best part is the array of hot sauces they have available to slather on your sub. De-fricken-lightful. The subs are similar to the«other» sub place that has those annoying 5 commercials. But toasted and made better and tastier. They don’t have a million choices but they do have a good range of options. This location just opened so I will excuse them for not being as on the ball as they could/should be. I was here during the lunch rush and it wasn’t very busy in the store, but there seemed to be quite a few to go orders running out the door. It took a bit longer than it should have to get my order and they girl at the register didn’t ask what I wanted on my sub, or if I wanted it fully involved. But again, as they just opened I’ll let it slide as they are just getting their sea legs. I will be back and hopefully to better service, but either way I’m excited that I have a Firehouse Subs so close.
