The food and desserts at this restaurant are always pretty good, problem here is the service or should I say lack of. We(my sister and I) came in at 9:30 on a Monday night. At least half the tables were empty, of those half of them were dirty. There is not enough staff to accommodate the flow of customers. This is not my first time here but always the same situation. Not really sure why I come back guess I like the ice cream.

Friendly’s has been a favorite since living in New York where they were on every corner. They have delicious ice cream, and so many options. They also have pretty good food, and I still love their strawberry milk! The place is always crowded, but kept clean, including the restrooms. Always get friendly waiters. ;)

Possibly the slowest service ever. When we arrived to wait to be seated it took them fifteen minutes to notice us. the server was an older lady who seemed to be pissed off about life(not my fault if you hate your job lady, maybe you should work in a place where you don’t have to deal with people or maybe you should act pleasant or act like you enjoy what you do and maybe I would have tipped you better but all well). Everyone else got there food within fifteen minutes of ordering the sever came up and apologized which took her another ten minutes to tell us that they are busy. It’s wasn’t even busy. There was hardly anyone in the place, there were 5 tables and everyone got in after we did and got there food before we did and we both had burgers and everyone else had burgers. Maybe Friendly’s should hire kitchen workers that can deal working under«time constraints» and that are good at working«under pressure» I would hate to see what it’s like when it’s «busy». We got our food that we ordered 45 minutes later. The food is ok. Also I would have given them a zero.

This is a large Friendly’s located on international drive in Orlando. I have never seen a Friendly’s this big before. We came here after eating at Marlows Tavern down the road. Instead of stopping at cold Stone for dessert I noticed the Friendly’s and felt a little nostalgia so I made the quick left-hand turn into the parking lot. We were greeted as we walked in and I could feel like I stepped back through Time to my childhood days. We used to ride our bikes to the local Friendly’s with a few dollars in our pockets to score some of their delicious ice cream desserts. I had an urge for the Reese’s pieces or Reese’s peanut butter cup sundae. Just like I did when I was 10 years old I went with the Reese’s peanut butter cup Sundae. Both of my kids shows from the kids menu and were more than satisfied with their little ice cream sundaes. You can actually upgrade to a larger size now so we opted for that since me and my wife were going to share it. I was a little disappointed that it was served in the silver bowl instead of the big glass container like the old days. But much to my happiness the The ice cream was delicious and the peanut butter and fudge was plenty. my wife also ordered a cappuccino which puzzled me but I figured she knew what she was doing. She did not care for the cappuccino so I laughed at her since that was not a wise choice. Haven’t actually consumed any real food at Friendly’s in a long time so I cannot speak for the food but the ice cream Sundays are just as good as I remember them.

Awfully disorganized at the pickup window. Do yourself a favor and choose another place to get your ice cream.

The ice cream gets 5 stars but the restaurant needs to be scrubbed clean. The table smelled like a moldy dish rag but the kids got a huge paper game sheet that covered most of the table so we stayed. The bathrooms were filthy. We were only there for the ice cream which was great. 3 medium and 2 large sundaes cost us over $ 30 plus tip. It was a nice ending to a fun day.

No illusions. This is an Ice Cream Shop with fun food. I think they do a great job. Burgers, dogs, sandwiches and Shakes. Appetizers are fried and greasy and awesome. There might be healthier options in the menus but I never look! Friendly’s was the go-to place growing up on Long Island and I look for it every time I travel. Husband rolls his eyes but goes along for the ice cream. 2 Friendly Frank’s, fries, Diet Coke and a Chocolate Fribble(Shake) for desert. This locations been redone recently. Waitress Wendy was awesome and I beat the Family rush by eating on central time.

I went here for lunch. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and a mint chip shake. The sandwich tasted great. The chicken was crispy and moist. The fries were good. The shake wasn’t very thick and tasted ok. Service was really slow even though it wasn’t fully packed. They forgot my straw for my shake when they brought it to my table and took a long time to get a straw. I had to resort to eating my shake with my spoon until I got my straw. The place is huge inside with a lot of seating. You can buy tubs of their ice cream up front.

Friendly’s is a restaurant I’ve grown up with from New York and am always excited to visit this restaurant when I come to this part of Orlando. However, this was not the case during this visit. It took 5 minutes for someone to come up to the host/hostess station to seat us and the rest of the guests who were in line behind us. We weren’t greeted with a warm welcome. Whomever the person was that seated us only asked us how many were in our party and sat us down without telling us who our waitress would be. After another 5 minutes of sitting at our table without being acknowledged by a single staff member, we finally were asked what we would like to drink until they figure out who was going to be our server today. This is not the impression that represents the name of this establishment. Only about 2 of the staff members actually had a smile on their face. I was thankful that one of them was our waitress. It was Ashley’s first day on the job and she was one of the only workers who seemed appropriately dressed with a smile and a «friendly» demeanor. Accompanied by her trainer Melissa. I do wish that the rest of the staff gets on board with both Ashley’s and Melissa’s welcoming attitude. This is an estaishment that brings back many memories from home and I do not want to stop coming here, but will if the staff doesn’t improve.

We make it here every so often while in Orlando and it is always good. Some new items on the menu. The turkey burger is really juicy. Updated the inside as well. Great service too. The live up name for sure.

I love friendlys!!! There food is awesome and the service is great. I wish there were more locations in orlando other then Idrive but it is worth the drive out there. This is the go to spot for my husband and my date nights. I HIGHLY recommend the honey bbq chicken sandwich with a side of smothered fries!!! To die for…

Waited for over 25 minutes to be seated in a restaurant that I could clearly see 14 empty tables and 5 that still needed to be cleared. Another guest(in one of the 4 parties waiting behind us) asked why they weren’t seating at those tables and the response was«we don’t want to over work the staff that’s on»…um if you don’t have staff that can handle volume than you may want to hire those that can. Anyway the ice cream was fine, same as usual and we actually were served and out the door quicker than the time we waited in lobby.

We’ve been going to Friendly’s since we lived in Massachusetts. They recently renovated this location and it looks beautiful. The food is still the same and ice cream still delicious. The staff is nice but slow. I wish the management would make sure the tables are clean and cleared when not occupied they always need clearing and its uncomfortable to eat where tables are full dirty dishes around. The bathroom usually needs tidying.

Went to the outside window to order some ice cream at about 9:30pm the guy was super with only him working the window. He would take one order, go make it and then not come back for an extended period of time. Very slow and and inefficient service. Many other places to choose in the area for ice cream skip this one. Never apologized for the wait.

I mean it is Friendly’s so standard diner fare, service, etc. .. but in FL we only have a couple and I really like their ice cream so. .. when in Orlando we go. Was sad to learn on this trip that a couple of months ago they retired the ice cream flavor butter(brickle) crunch — booooo! If you are looking for a cold treat or a family friendly and wallet friendly option this is it. They serve B, L, D and have a decent kids menu. Enjoy!

Came here for dessert(Reeses Pieces Sundae) after an awards dinner for work. Our waitress was awesome. Didn’t get her name but she was super friendly, polite and made you fell right at home. Great fast service. We ordered extra peanut butter for or sundae and she brought it on the side so we know we got the extra we paid for which was a nice touch. We’d definitely come back.

25 minute wait for a half empty restaurant. No place to sit. You are out for onion rings and fish and chips and gravy and cheese sticks and a whole bunch of other stuff. And the you give me a menu with Satanic scribbling one it. Great Family atmosphere.

I stopped in here on my most recent visit to Orlando and I did not regret it. I’m originally from upstate NY where Friendlys was a fixture, but there are almost none in Florida so this is an unusual treat. The dinner was quite good. Had Hamburgers and fries, plus Mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. All were quite good for a restaurant of this price. Kids had other food and they were quite happy as well. The service has improved here dramatically since our last visit and you can see the results in the larger crowds. The ice cream was to die for as always. Had a Strawberry Fribble that was awesome. I wish they had a Friendlys in Tampa, but for now I’ll have to settle for 3 – 4 visits a year when we come to Orlando.

This review is strictly on the Peanut Butter Friend-Z. Absolutely delicious. One of the best desserts I’ve ever had… Yum!!! While we didn’t eat dinner here, I noticed that they have a small play area in the restaurant and they have a balloon guy nightly.

Came to this Friendly’s primarily for the Fribble. A Fribble is a milk shake made nice and thick with lots of Friendly’s ice cream. They make their own excellent brand of ice cream. A vanilla Fribble is my favorite. You can order ice cream treats and such at the counter or walk-up window to go but Friendly’s is also a restaurant. I’d put it in the diner category. They have burgers and sandwiches and basic plates. They used to make a good clam roll. Since I was here I decided to eat in and ordered a burger and fries to go with my shake. After the fact I wish I didn’t waste my time. The service was ultra slow and unmotivated. The food was okay but not something I’d order from here again. The Fribble was fantastic. Skip the food and go with what they do well; Ice cream cakes, Sundaes, bars, cones, sandwiches or pick up a carton of your favorite flavor. They also have these ice cream rolls which you’d have to check out. Here, I’ll throw in their descriptions to give you an idea. Picture these rolls like the shape of a small loaf of bread. Celebration Roll: Premium chocolate ice cream with chocolaty crunchies, surrounded by delicious vanilla ice cream, topped with fudge and chocolaty crunchies, covered by a layer of blue icing flavored ice cream and decorated with confetti and marshmallow drizzle. Dutch Fudge Roll: Premium chocolate ice cream with chocolate truffles & premium vanilla ice cream decorated with chocolate & vanilla ice cream ribbons, chocolate flakes and fudge drizzle. Wattamelon Roll: Refreshing watermelon and lemon sherbet with rich chocolate chip seeds. These last two are winter seasonal. Jubilee Roll: Delicious chocolate ice cream surrounded by chocolate chip ice cream, topped with fudge, chopped almonds, and ice cream ribbon and candy chips. Spumoni Roll: Premium Cherry Almond & Pistachio Ice Creams, Decorated with Pistachio & Chocolate Ice Cream Ribbons, Marshmallow Topping & Chopped Almonds.
