Really torn between giving this two and three stars. I got the shio ramen with an egg on top. The egg was DELICIOUS holy crap. The pork was also amazing. The ramen noodles had a nice texture… but for some reason, when I brought them really close to my nose it gave off an ammonia-type smell which was very offputting. After doing a lot of Googling I can only presume that this is kansui. I asked the chef/waitstaff about it and they said it was an ingredient; not sure we 100% understood each other, but that’s OK. As a previous reviewer mentioned, they gestured to the bar stools when I walked in but also like that previous reviewer I have a had bad back; so I just walked to one of the tables. I’m going to go back today or tomorrow and try one of the other ramen types to see if that weird smell is related to the shio ramen or something else.

I walked right in when I saw the familiar ramen shop that I had been to in Williamsburg. Food was still good, but not as good as the Williamsburg location yet. The gyoza tasted a little too oily/crispy. Almost, but not quite. Still better than the average gyoza. I also had the same thing we always get — the Abura Soba Spicy and it was almost as good too. The egg was perfectly poached(or whatever that style of egg is), the noodles were nice and chewy, the onions and bamboo shoots were great. The pork, however was different. It was more fried than the other other location and IMO, not as good. Also, the music was very poppy, too poppy for us Brooklynites. I have faith this place will get better, so I will still give 4 stars. We shall see.

Tasty veggie ramen — the noodles were perfectly chewy and the miso broth was flavorful. It could have used an egg, tofu or fresh veggies for the price though. Definitely get the tasty boiled egg — it’s so good I’d go back for just that.

We decided to try this location(we normally go to the WillyB location). The layout of this location is completely different! It’s a lot more spacious and they didn’t have the glass window to see the cooks making the ramen(boo!). Their kitchen was hidden in the back. Maybe it was us but the miso ramen here tasted different too. We added vinegar to our miso ramen and then the soup was more favorable. We tried the gyoza dumplings(1st time ever). When it came out I looked at it weirdly because they make theirs flat. It was delicious but they’re cheap on the stuffing. Staff were so sweet and friendly! We had a wonderful date night but prefer their Williamsburg location more.

Ramen Yebisu. A fine fine ramen establishment. Décor is great, the food is tasty. Downfall(although not too uncommon in NYC) it’s cash only. You’re greeted with an okay amount of seating and a center high bar for those dining alone or with a small group of folks. Here’s what I found yummy, their pork buns. Often you’ll go spaces like this and they use the same pork they’d put in your ramen for the pork bun. Nope. Not at Ramen Yebisu. Your buns come separate in its own steamed basket(you get two) and you get a bowl of seasoned pork. This gives you control to fill the buns to your hearts content. I used the rest of the extra pork into my ramen. Plus for the authentic bamboo spoon that comes with your ramen. Downfall — on cold winter days, don’t sit on the highbar in front of the door. I’m not sure if they just didn’t set it up but they don’t have the extra winter door so you’ll feel a draft each time a new patron enters.

I feel that this place is underrated. I liked the food when I tried the one in Williamsburg, so I was really excited when I know they open the new location in my neighborhood. I have been here 3 times since it has been opened in Park Slope and never left in disappointment. I like the industrial atmosphere, and the staff is always nice, only complaint is the music… It’s a little bit loud and sometime pop dancing music can be annoying when you try to have a relaxing night with a warm ramen. Food is great! My Japanese boyfriend loves the ramen here too, so it shouldn’t be a concern if you care about«authentic». I am in love with their signature Yebisu seafood ramen! It’s fresh and comfy, only 10 servings for a day. Miso ramen, Soy ramen and Gyoza are good! Pork bun is ok-average. I will keep coming here every once in a while, definitely recommend this place!(note: cash only!)

The prices are right, they have these really delicious chewy potato noodles as an option(you can still get regular wheat noodles), service is great, and the décor is nice. It’s about time Park Slope had a good ramen place. The seafood ramen(house special) is really awesome. Make sure you come early as they only have a limited amount of bowls each day.

Yep, still love it. Went with a group post-movie at BAM and we were all really happy. Love the hip décor, great service and great food.

Nice to see the Williamsburg ramen shop closer to home. Possibly one of the best bowls of ramen in NYC. I’m usually a fan of the miso but I had their shio ramen today and the smokey soy flavor was outstanding. The noodles are cooked just right still with a bit of texture. You don’t need tons of garnishes with such a perfect broth and great noodles. Perfect rainy day lunch. The buns are great too

I’ve been a few times now since they opened and it seems to be improving with each visit. Really enjoyed my ramen last night. Great addition to the neighborhood.

Giant wooden ladels make awkward spoons. Pork in ramen was a rubbery piece of fat, not a soft, hot piece of fat like it should have been. Broth was ok. Service was fine. Overall not a homerun.

I don’t mind the seating and appreciate their quickness — both the time we were 3 adults and 3 kids and the time it was just two of us and our toddler. I don’t know about the salty broth — thought it was ok but also thought maybe I don’t know my regional Japanese cuisine. 3 yo loved the edamame with yuzu garlic. I enjoyed the veggie ramen but my husband preferred his pork buns to his shoyu ramen. maybe we need to consume more alcohol with dinner? service is fine and the seat by the window with a kid on a cold dark night is still pretty nice.

3.5 stars. The service was very attentive and friendly, and the alcohol options were great. The atmosphere is very industrial, so you can take or leave it if it’s your cup of tea. I think they could offer some seat cushions for the metal chairs. I actually find the ramen to NOT be heavily salted, and I consider myself very sensitive to salt. That said, I agree, that the ramen was definitely GOOD, but not heavily flavorful. It lacked something, and that something was probably extra pork or an egg, in which I’d have to pay an extra $ 3 – 6 for. A welcomed addition to the neighborhood and most definitely certain to warm the bones on a cold winter day!

Very good hearty miso based vegetable ramen. Tho could use more veggies(carrots?spinach or kale?) which i had to add at home. Ramen noodles delish. Will return to try other options.

This new neighborhood place has good potential. The service was friendly and I liked that they were kind to children(unlike some ramen places which seem to view any patrons other than 20somethings with disdain); they brought over children’s chopsticks and a cute kid bowl without being asked. My miso ramen was a bit too salty, but everything else was right. I appreciated that the ramen was so generously portioned with meat and noodles and other good things that the broth was almost invisible. The big flat wooden spoon was perfect for sipping. The soft Peking duck-style pork buns had just the right balance of flavors and temperatures. I will definitely return.

Interior décor is industrial. Steel tables and chair. The use of dark tone colors in the surrounding space made it feel«cold», like«eat and leave». I can picture the place being really dark at night time hours. Now in terms of the ramen… I ordered the chicken ramen, sadly to say it was abit salty. I think they boiled the ramen in salt water instead of just plain hot water. In terms of texture and flavor of the noodle and soup there was nothing special about it(other then salty) Service was nice and friendly(only reason for 2nd star)

The look is industrial, pleasant vibe and pleasant waiters, but the food is extremely bland and not at all worth the price. $ 40 for two ramen bowls and a pork bun, all of which lacked flavor. The egg is extra charge here(the poached egg is undercooked). The pork is given separately from the bun in do it yourself style. Most of the provided pork is cartilage.

If you like cold ramen or a pork bun with gristle in it, this place is awesome! The egg was snotty and cold when they served it as the ramen was cold. They took it back, nuked it and gave it back to me. Totally gross.

Brand new so I thought Id try. Three empty tables at lunch and a «bar» with stools in the middle with one diner. I was offered the bar stool but asked for a table as I need my back against a wall for comfort. Told tables were for three or four(still empty). Cant review the food as I turned and left. Good food does’t trump amateurish customer service.

Was super excited to try this place but? the authenticity since visiting. The space is industrial with metal bench seating. We were seated immediately and the only diners at 6 pm on a rainy evening(perfect for slurping ramen). The edamame is served cold with a yuzu sesame sauce that’s more«thrown» on than being«dressed or coated.» Now for the ramen served with a big wooden spoon which is actually good for ramen noodles and slurps. Chicken ramen was a little bland with everything«thrown» in. My veggie miso had a hearty broth with a tiny spicy kick. The egg was pretty perfect but again the other ingredients«thrown» in. Kelp was cut oddly like the odd parts of a bell pepper, not enough bamboo and too much sliced onion. Point is don’t just throw in the stuff, you gotta make a bowl of ramen with some heart and soul, authentic or not. Since it’s so close to the home, I’d come back a few cold/rainy weeks/mths away.
