Tikka grill is a small sit down Indian restaurant off of 7th Ave in Brooklyn next to a bunch of other eateries. The inside is pretty plain with white table cloths and black chairs, but since it was a nice day out we took a table outside in the garden. They lead us down the hall into and past the kitchen into a small patio in the back. The waitress was new and didn’t know anything about the menu or timing of getting out plates and giving going hw check but she was nice so it was fine I got chicken tikka masala and chicken saagwala as the lunch specials that came with rice and naan. Both dishes were AMAZING. absolute 5⁄5 for the dishes. Then for desert I got the kheer and rasmalai. Both were very tasty and prepares just right. If the waitress knew what she was doing and the patio was slightly better done then I would give this an easy 5⁄5. But for now I wish I could give 4.5÷5

Flagrantly spiced Indian food. Delicate where need be and intense in other dishes. The split pea too-long-name-to-remember soup is delectable. The two baigan/eggplant dishes are exceptional. The murgh tikka is probably the mildest spiced dish for the tender palated, everything else I’ve sampled is on point. Huge fan of the lamb rogan josh. Not a fan of over breaded, thick skinned samosas but most Indian places I’ve adored fall short here too. Plaudits in general except for my last order which took TWOHOURS to arrive and I had a guests(food for six). Someone named Jennifer said she’d make up for it next time. I’m still a fan.

Ordered delivery and it took 2 hours to arrive! I called to check after an hour, and he said the«delivery guy had left 5 minutes ago». Called at 1 hour and 40 minutes, and got the same response. Person on the phone was rude, unapologetic and couldn’t care less. If I didn’t feel bad for the delivery guy who is obviously running too many orders on his bicycle in the cold, I would have sent the food back. Food itself was mediocre. Watery curry, overcooked chicken in the biryani and soggy naan.

Usually dine at Olive Vine next door, but I thought I’d give this a try. I was alone, so only had one dish with rice. But boy was it good! The first chicken on the menu– Kodi Mellagu Chettinad– was so flavorful and fragrant. Just the right amount of spice. Can’t wait to return for more, but it’s a really small place, so bringing a large group to try many more dishes might not work!

I am a frequent visitor to India and this is the closest restaurant in Park Slope to the real thing. I especially like the Shrimp Balchao and the daal is definitely the best I had outside of Indian. For an unusual taste, try the Rajastani Hara Mas.

Hallelujah: my quest for good Indian food in Park Slope has finally come to an end, just when I was dispairing that it would never happen. I have had only one meal here but it was really excellent. This is true, homey Indian cuisine. And while the menu does have the standard samosas, tandoori fare and tikka masala, it also has a lot of Southern Indian and Moghul-type dishes that aren’t generally found in NYC restaurants. The kukuri bhindi is really a delicious street snack that Tikka Grill fries to perfection. I would take this over popcorn in a movie any day! The shrimp balchao does have the little tiny shrimps that I generally dislike, but the onion and chili masala was so spicy and delicious that I really did not care. I just wish I had ordered one of the gigantic puffy pooris that the table next to us got to go with it. I was seriously excited to find chicken xiacuti on the menu. It was really good with big chunks of chicken, although I would have liked it hotter: we ordered Indian hot and it was pretty mild. The Hyderabadi baigans were also delicious but again a bit mild given the number of Kashmiri chilis in the sauce. Service was great — our waitress was super sweet and I loved that she asked if we wanted all the food to come together, Indian style, or if we wanted the starters separately. I did not mind the long wait; it meant our food was being freshly made to order. My only«complaints» other then the level of heat are that the garlic naan had a bit too much garlic, and the restaurant itself is tiny so on a cold night we ended up by the door. The food was so good though that I am not taking away a single star. I cannot wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.

I made an account just to write this. We saw multiple 5 stars reviews for this place claiming that its the«best indian in park slope». The best part of our meal was the very bland assorted appetizer and the worst part was the RAW tandoori chicken. When we told our server it was raw she chuckled and said shrugged her shoulders; we had to ask her to take it away and I had to specifically ask for a fresh side plate that hadn’t had raw chicken on it. When the bill came they had not taken anything off. We asked them what they can do about this? We receive only 10% discount(equal to ¼ of the tandoori chicken price) so we asked again and they finally took the chicken off. Everything was bland and this was a horrible experience. Never again.

Excellent food. The restaurant is a bit small so I prefer to use them for stay at home dinning.

The owner of this restaurant needs to hire a second delivery person during weekends. Food is delicious, but the delivery takes too long. Two weekends in a row, we waited for a delivery for more than an hour and 40 min. The delivery guy asked for water when he dropped off our food. The poor guy obviously hasn’t had a time to even drink water. Very unpleasant experience.

Never order delivery from here. There is always a problem, they’re completely disorganized. We’ve had a problem every time and this will be our final order. Was supposed to take 30 – 40 minutes. After an hour and 40 minutes, on about the 10th call, they finally pick up the phone and complained there were too many customers and that maybe it can come in 30 minutes, or they suggested we cancel the order. Meanwhile, everything else has closed. The fact that they accept orders and money but then have this terrible attitude as if it’s a huge hardship to actually make and deliver the food is a disgrace.

A little pricey, but next time we will dine in before 7 to get 20% off. The paneer makhani was a revelation. And the vegetable samosas to die for. Papadam was perfectly crisp and not at all greasy. Container of rice(perfectly cooked) with each main dish. Aloo gobi was solid and fresh as was the naan. We are so happy that we found this gem close by. Let’s all agree to frequent this place so that they stay in business.

Our go to is Sapid, but they had some different dishes like kodi mellagu chettinad(chicken with black pepper and curry leaves) and Kadai chicken. Tonight we also had the palak paneer. The paneer seems home made(texture is great). Everything is soooo flavorful without being overly spicy. And the garlic naan is very good. We will definitely be ordering from here more often.

We have ordered from them like 4 times and so far it has been exceptional. The best Indian food(home cooked style) in Park Slope by a distance. Strongly recommend.

Before moving to Park Slope, I lived in the Upper West Side and the infamous Curry Hill in Midtown Manhattan. NONE of the many places I’ve been to there can touch this place. The people who have complained in review before must simply have no context of what good Indian food is(or is just being a D*ck). Their Paneer, Butter Chicken, Vindaloo Chicken, the masala… all excellent. If you want Indian food, this is the place!

I did not enjoy their fare at all. To begin with, their food is extremely and unnecessarily salty. It tastes like a tub of salt fell into their Chicken Korma stew(and maybe on accident, that’s exactly what happened today). The vegetable pakoras lacked flavor. They were meh. The rice was good, no complaints there. My experience wasn’t just tainted by the mediocre food, but the customer service experience as well. The prices on their website/online ordering is different from what they charge a customer who calls an order in via telephone in(like I did today.) I ended up paying $ 4 more than their web listed prices(not including tip! Something their online ordering system indicates is already added and calculated). I called them to let them know it’s dishonest to jack up their prices OR their online menu from their own website should be updated to reflect the new prices. The guy over the phone must get these calls often because he just casually said«I’ll look into it» before scurrying me off the phone. All in all, dishonest practices and unbearably salty food. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but I don’t think I’ll ever order from Tikka Grill again.

Within the neighborhood of park slope/prospect heights-I think this is the best Indian food around. The chutneys are delicious and homemade, flavors exceptional-good solid South Indian fare, service wonderful and kind. Most of its competitors serve up pretty greasy tasteless stuff. I would highly recommend the Poori-and the Malai Kofta for you veggies out there!

My husband and I had been very disappointed with our usual go to Indian the last few times we had ordered from them, so we scoured Seamless to find a new Indian go-to. I’m glad we gave this new place a try. The food was delivered in a timely manner and the spices that came wafting out of the Hyderabadi chicken curry especially were very promising. There’s nothing like that warm smell of curry leaves and the speckle of mustard seeds that lets you know that you are going to have a very tasty treat. The ingredients were of good quality and I appreciated that the paneer had been browned before being added to the Jalfrezi. It just added texture and flavor. The food also came with popadums and the usual dipping sauces. Happy to have found a new go to Indian.

It’s hard to say whether Tikka Grill’s «grand opening» was really the debut of a new restaurant or something more like a makeover story for Sanskriti, the last restaurant that sat here, which seemingly suffered from being consistently overlooked. Then it was closed for a week with paper in its windows and magically reopened with different décor. If anything, it has a re-energized vision: comparing the menus pre and post it seems like Tikka just has a little more uniqueness going for it. There are many of the dishes you would expect(some under the guise of more transliterated than translated names e.g. Tandoori Murgh instead of Chicken Tandoori) but also quite a few more that you may not yet have heard of(with random callouts about what region it’s from!). The owner and new hostess are eager and excited to have you, and they have a clear point of view on dishes you should try that they are obviously proud of and excited about(he guided me towards a similar but apparently better dish when I first started out, and when we started looking at naan, he eagerly asked us to try the onion/olive naan. Sounds a little strange, but was subtle and super delicious.) For all the dishes, the flavors were great, if a bit heavy on the ghee, and the portions were nice. Whether it was a makeover or total rehaul, I’m happy that Tikka Grill arrived.
