OMG– we used to go here quiet a bit, but it has slowly gone down hill– They have a large investment in grease– and OIL– OMG we order veggie fried rice, pan fried noodles, and egg rolls, spent $ 45.00 even my 8 years knew it didn’t taste right! Gross skip this place– the egg rolls were solid you couldn’t identify anything in it– seriously skip it!

Tried this place for the first time last week. Staff was very nice. Ordered lunch special Mongolian beef, egg rolls, and crab Rangoon. I am big on Chinese food and this place was good. I do wish the rice was a tad more brown(lots of white rice)

I come here with friends often and I can honestly say without hesitation that Great Wall has the best Chinese food I’ve ever had! The portions are very large and the prices are fair. The waiters are extremely friendly to all of us and the overall service is great. I highly recommend this restaurant to any fan of Chinese food. Make sure to try the sesame chicken, you will love it!

Food tasted great. And the service was outstanding. I ordered the food for delivery. And as a typical response they said food should be there in 45 minutes. However, to my surprise they were able to deliver our food in 15 minutes! That’s probably the fastest time we have ever seen. And the food was hot and tasty. For our first time here I’m very impressed. Will recommend.

I LOVE this place. They are the closest to real chinese food that plainfield has to offer. Panda express does not even begin to compare to them. The orange chicken and the mongolian beef are my 2 favorites. The sweet and sour sauce isn’t too sweet or too sour which is perfect! The only thing i would want differently is the sweet and sour sauce being warmed up alittle.

I’ve been eating here since I was younger and I love the food. I get the simple Sweet and Sour chicken, veggie egg roll, veggie fried rice. But unfortunately will never again be dining in there, only picking up orders from here on out. I had gone with my friend from high school to meet up and it took us 15 minutes to get menus. 10 minutes for him to come back to take our drink order. 10 minutes to get our waters we ordered. Then another 15 for him to come back to take our food order. There were maybe 4 other customers in the entire restaurant. We finally got our food and we needed more napkins, but before we could ask, he walked into the back for yet another 10 minutes. When it came time for the bill, my friend had insisted to pay but refused to give a tip because the service was awful and the man was not attentive nor friendly. As we left, the guy had told me that my friend hadn’t given a tip and asked me to give one. HEASKEDMETOGIVEHIM A TIP. Shocked, my friend began to write down a tip on the bill. But then she turned to him and just let him know that she would not be giving him a tip. Told him why he was not getting a tip. Then went on to explain that we were not on a date and that he clearly didn’t deserve a tip. Hands down the most jaw dropping experience I’ve ever had. Will NOT be dining in ever again.

No complaints. I’ve ordered take out here a few times and I love the option to order online. I usually get the shrimp fried rice, orange chicken and egg foo young. All are quite tasty and I like how the orange chicken isn’t overbearing In too much orange flavor

I like their egg rolls and pot stickers the best, as well as their sweet and sour chicken which is white meat.

Been ordering here for years, literally like a decade maybe longer. Have never had a bad experience. Ate in the place 1 time and noticed an odd smell and was not happy about that but we have tried so many other places in the area and have received bad food, wrong food, been yelled at and all sorts of things that make us come back here. We recently moved further away and Great Wall does not deliver to where we are now. We tried some places near our new home but none of the food was any good(see other reviews). So when we are over that way we call and pick up food. Usually we order different fried rices, veggie egg rolls, crab Rangoon, beef with broccoli, and Szechwan bean curd(a tofu dish). My husband and I grew up in the city and it is hard to find good food like you get in the city out here but this place definitely is one of them.

Have been eating here for years, we usually order the same thing every Friday. Though when eating out with friends as opposed to family, I have ventured out a bit and can’t really say I enjoyed what my friends chose, which is unusual since I am not a picky eater. Food is always hot when delivered, and delivery always takes under half an hour. Service is decent, sometimes the servers don’t check in for drinks or anything until you’re ready for the check, but is otherwise friendly. Good takeout place if you’re staying in for the night.

The food here is absolutely terrible! I ordered an order of egg rolls, bit into one of them and it reeked of an odor of ROTTENFOOD! The General Taos chicken I had upon the same order was so darn old, and over cooked that it chewed like little pieces of LEATHER! I had to throw the whole entire carton of my dinner out into the trash, at a huge waste of money to me. Do not waste your time or your hard earned cash eating at this restaurant. You will be greatly disappointed for sure.

First time ordering for delivery. Thought I’d give this restaurant a chance after ordering from another local Chinese place where I didn’t like their food. I ordered shrimp fried rice, orange chicken, and crab rangoon. We were told delivery would be about 45 min but we got it in less than 30(typical under promise and over delivery tactic). The fried rice tasted just like I like it so thumbs up. Crab rangoon was also good as well as the Orange chicken. Therefore, overall I had a good experience so they get a good rating and I’ll order again.

Typical of what you’d expect from a Chinese buffet. Food selection is okay. They have a hibatchi grill and a sushi station. Place inside is slightly above average compared to other places. Looks messy inside when it’s packed. But it is great for what it is if you’re hungry and want to eat a ton.

The best Chinese food! I get it at least once a week for either lunch or dinner and they have great lunch specials! My favorite is either the Mongolian beef or the beef chow fun! Highly recommended!

The worst chinese restaurant in the area. Ordered Egg Roll and Soup to go, Egg roll was falling apart, not wrapped properly. The Hot and Sour Soup had some sort of After Taste. Not many options for Vegetarians. They want to charge $ for hot sauce on a bill of more than $ 12. Poor Customer service.

Ordered the general tso chicken lunch special. Wasn’t impressed. For $ 8, I expected better. The fried rice tasted burnt. The chicken did not have good flavor. Egg roll was the best thing.

One of our favorite places to eat is Great Wall of China in Plainfield IL. We have been going there for about four years ever since we moved to the area. They have everything that I think is necessary to have a good meal out. Great food, great service, comfortable seating and reasonable prices. We always ask for a booth, but they have table seating as well. They have three booths in the main seating area, and about six more off to the back. When we are seated they bring us out a basket of complimentary crispy fried wontons. +Chinesefood +Dinner Tonight my husband ordered Beef Peppersteak, and I got Hong Sue Chicken. We also ordered two egg rolls. They have some really neat serving trays for their appetizers. The eggrolls come out in a little boat. If you have a big appetite they have bigger platters. The two eggrolls are plenty for us. I love that Great Wall of China in Plainfield offers brown rice or white. I try to eat whole grains when ever possible so this is helpful. They will even make fried rice with brown rice. I do love their Chicken Fried Rice but tonight I just got the plain brown rice that comes with the dinner. You can get some pretty neat drinks at Great Wall of China but we just had water with our meal tonight. If you want to see their menu check it out on their website:
After dinner they always bring you fortune cookies. It is a nice touch and a little something sweet without having a huge dessert. For our two meals pictures plus the eggrolls our bill came to about $ 18 I highly recommend Great Wall of China, it is located on the north west corner of 135th and Rt 59 at 13400 S. Rt.59 Unit 112, Plainfield, IL60585 in the same plaza with Jewel Foods. Here is their telephone number 815−609−3838 Great Wall of China in Plainfield also offers pick up and delivery.

This place is as good as any place I have been to. The orange chicken is the spiciest I have ever tasted and the egg rolls are the best I have had. I live in Naperville, but make the trip because it’s worth it

I’m bummed to write that I’m totally disappointed in my meal tonight. My husband and I decided to stay in rather than go out, and I was craving Pad Thai. This place was the only place within delivery range that had it on the menu. We went a little crazy and got a variety of things: Spicy Beef, Beef Fried Rice, Crab Rangoon, Veggie Soup, Egg Rolls, White Rice, and Pad Thai. We are definitely not picky eaters, but the only thing that I actually enjoyed on my plate was the crab ragoon. Even though the sweet and sour sauce tasted like orange marmalade… We might have hit them on an off night because they have pretty good reviews, but I was totally bummed that our $ 40 worth of Chinese didn’t leave us with the left overs we were looking forward to because it all ended up in the trash. :( I’m still on the hunt for decent Pad Thai in the area. Sad to say that we won’t be taking the risk here again.

Great lunch specials that come with choice of egg drop or hot n sour soup and egg roll. Good portion size. I rally dig the Mongolian beef lunch special $ 6.95 The hot tea was only item that was so-so taste, but it was hot and free to drink. I come for lunch a few times a month. It’s consistently good for local Chinese.
