We bought a Groupon for JT5, which made the trip up to Plano totally worth it. We were seated immediately after walking in on a Friday night. Each table has a double setup: one side has an induction stove for the hot pot, and the other side has a grill for the korean bbq. You have the option of choosing either hot pot OR korean bbq for $ 20, or you can have both for $ 23. We went with the both option and were handed our ordering menus. The ordering system is very similar to Little Sheep and sushi restaurants – it’s a paper menu, and you mark along the rows the quantity of each item you want to order. They have a pretty wide selection of items for both the hot pot and korean bbq. We ordered our first round of food and headed to the sauce bar. The sauce bar was one of my favorite things about this restaurant. They have like 50 different items, and you can mix a bunch of stuff together to make yourself sauces to your liking. My only complaint was that their sha-cha sauce was too diluted and bland. The food was good, nothing amazing, but good. Our server insisted on cooking the korean bbq for us, but we ended up putting a lot of it back on the grill because we wanted more of a char on the meat. It was actually pretty difficult to keep up with both the hot pot and bbq at once. I almost felt overwhelmed because there were so many food options everywhere! Overall, I enjoyed the experience. It’s not really a place you can come too often, but it was fun!

Boo. Now both people have to order the same thing for AYCE. I don’t eat hot pot, especially not in Summer… really, you’re that worried people will share each others’ food?

I love hot pot and Korean BBQ. I almost always prefer eating hot pot at home, because I’m so picky and particular about the way I want things! But JT5 came with a lot of options, and the all you can eat option gave me the flexibility to try different things. The broth was actually very good. There are a lot of sauces available at their sauce bar, which was another customization I appreciated. I was there for a very late lunch, so many of the sauces were almost depleted. The bottom of the pot was very greasy, so that was a little repulsive. But I know it was late, so I let it go. The bbq was just okay, in my opinion. The meat quality was decent, but it didn’t win my heart over. Still, it’s a good combination to be able to switch back and forth between the two. I would definitely come back again. But because I don’t eat a ton, I wouldn’t get the All You Can Eat option again.

This has got to be the worst Korean BBQ food my bf and I have ever experience. The food was just disgusting and not fresh at all; some even tasted old. I woke up the next day with a stomach ache due to the poor quality of the meats, sides, and other items. The service was horrible; they barely came to check on us, we never got a refill on water, and nobody was around when we were waiting to pay so after waiting for 10 minutes, we just got up and paid at the front. To top it off, they even overcharged us so please check your bill before you pay! The hotpot was bland so you have to season it yourself where as other places I’ve been to, the hotpot was flavorful. Please avoid this place for Korean BBQ or Hotpot; there are way better places to eat in Dallas that won’t make you sick to your stomach literally. I will not be returning, that’s for sure.

I’ve been spoiled with authentic KBBQ and authentic Chinese Hot Pot, so I wasn’t as impressed going to this restaurant. The concept is thought out and nice, but execution is the issue. Are you going for Chinese or Korean? That, I’m not sure. The total price came out to be around $ 25, tip not included yet but that price entails KBBQ and the Hot Pot option. For the hot pot, we got two flavors of broth: spicy, and regular. The spicy one smelled pretty bad(like moth balls) and the broth was just a little bland. For the Korean BBQ, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I would at Omi or Jin simply because it wasn’t marinated as I’m used to. I’d definitely give this place a 10 for concept, but probably wouldn’t be coming back anytime soon. I also forgot to mention their credit card machine didn’t really work at that time either, so it was a hassle for a group of friends to split– the waiter asked if we all had cash with us… my suggestion is to get something like a square for backup. You can’t have a restaurant in Plano and expect customers to carry cash nowadays.

This is the best Korean Bbq & hotpot combo Resturant I have eaten at!!! The short ribs marination is not as good as Sura kbbq but it’s still good imho! And the hotpot is good as we’ll but not quite as good as little sheep! But overall the food is very good for the price and what you get! I would definitely come back next time I’m in Plano!

I like the concept of this place and with some improvements, I think it could be even more successful. Price: It’s $ 23.95 for AYCE hot pot and Korean bbq, or $ 20.95 for AYCE hot pot OR Korean bbq. I think it’s safe to say that most, if not all the people that come here choose to shell out the extra $ 3 to get both. Might as well get the most bang for your buck, right? I bought the Groupon deal that was $ 15 for $ 30 towards food here. Be careful that if you bought this deal, you can only use one Groupon per table. Korean bbq: I thought the flavor of the meats were surprisingly pretty good. I didn’t think the flavor would be that great since it seemed like this was more of a Chinese place than anything else. They had a pretty wide selection of meats available to choose from. There wasn’t anything too different on the menu you can’t find from other Korean places. Hot pot: I didn’t like the hot pot that much. We got the duo pot with Spicy and Original broth. Caution: the spicy broth is VERY spicy. I would not recommend actually drinking that broth unless you really love spicy foods. I thought it gave a nice flavor to the meats and veggies when soaked in it, but my mouth was on fire after eating a few pieces. The original broth was pretty bland to me. They had a large selection of meats and veggies as well. What I really loved about this place was the sauce bar. They had various different toppings and sauces to choose from. I really liked how they gave you recipes to create a certain type of sauce if you were unsure which sauce to try. I don’t think this would my restaurant of choice if I were ever craving Korean bbq or hot pot, but I wouldn’t mind coming here if I was very hungry and in the mood for both.

I love this place!!! This is a Hot Pot & Grill place. That means there is a hot plate burner and a grill at each of the tables. You select what kind of broth you want, and then the noodles, meats and veggies for the hot pot. You can also select from a bunch of items to grill at your table. It is a very interactive dining experience. You put the ingredients in the broth and let it cook for a little bit and then start eating, kind of like ramen. Don’t put everything in the hot pot all at once because it will over cook and become mushy. You should put a little in the hot pot, eat it, then put some more in the hot pot. You can do all of this while grilling whatever meats you selected and eating them at the same time. You have tongs and utensils to handle all the food but if you don’t like being around raw meats, this place isn’t for you. In fact, if you think raw meat is icky, then definitely stay away. However, if you are an adventurous foodie, then this is the place for you! The service is always great and the prices aren’t bad for the amount of food you get. If you want a great dining experience, I highly recommend this place.

All You Can Eat Korean BBQ *and* Hotpot — what’s not to love? This is the only place I’ve found that combines these 2 of my favorite foods in an AYCE format. The meat quality is usually pretty good. I recommend the sirloin(the key is to grill it medium rare) and the unmarinated pork belly BBQ(dip it in the sesame oil sauce) in particular, but you can’t go wrong with pretty much anything from the AYCE menu. As for the hotpot, I recommend the spicy broth base. The selection of things to cook is extensive, and there’s also an impressively long condiment bar with a huge selection of dipping sauces. Minus one star for the service — it can be extremely slow and difficult to get service while you’re eating or when you’re looking to pay the bill and leave(the entire payment process shouldn’t take over nearly 40 minutes). We also asked a few times for certain menu items we’d ordered that never came.

Pros: –Lots of selection for the hot pot add ins, –Lots of meat selection, –Modern décor –Clean –Nice staff –Free dessert included, –Lively atmosphere, –Easy to park Cons: –Have to wait for servers to bring out stuff at different times(like the bbq meat might be cooked before the veggies come out to eat with it, or the broth might be cooking for a while before the veggies come out, etc. –Multitasking between the bbq and the hot pot felt like a lot of work. –broth sauce bar might be cool at first but it can also be easy to make your broth too salty or mess up the broth flavor with all the choices. –electric grill takes forever to cook the meats and doesn’t get it as crispy as a gas grill/charcoal/or hot lava stone grills that I have had at other places.

Hot pot & Korean bbq are two of my absolute favorite things — so of course I had to come try a place that offers both! The Korean bbq was not what I expected… the meat was not marinated well and did not have the authentic Korean bbq taste that I was expecting. I had high hopes for the hot pot though — but again, it was disappointing. We ordered the spicy broth but it was SO bland that a waiter had to come around and give us a whole bowl of chili sauce so that we could add some more flavor to it. The meats and veggies for the hot pot were relatively fresh, but for some reason, when they were cooked in the broth, they didn’t soak up the flavors too well so it tasted pretty bland as well. I liked how they have a sauce bar so that you can choose what you want to dip your food in! I also really enjoyed the variety of protein, noodles, veggies, and all of that. I just wish that the broth was made better and that they spent more time working on the marinade for the Korean bbq. The service was super friendly! They changed our grill for us continuously, made sure we were well taken care of, and always stopped by our table with a smile. For $ 24 a person, you really can’t beat both AYCE hot pot and Korean bbq since most places charge $ 20 – 23 for just one choice. I’d probably be back just to satisfy my hotpot and Korean bbq cravings, but the quality doesn’t really live up to the hype of this place. The concept totally does.

Love the concept of this place! It’s a Korean BBQ + Chinese Hotpot AYCE restaurant. It’s a place to go when you’re craving for both kbbq and hotpot! The BBQ is a meh, the only things I like are the shrimp and ribeye. Do not get pork belly and brisket here! They are super fatty and I felt sick after eating only a few pieces. On the other hand, their hotpot is pretty decent! I always get the spicy broth, although its extremely oily but the flavor is bold and tasty. I’ve tried the regular broth but it didn’t have much flavor. I’d suggest to take the top layer chili oil out before you put in any ingredients into the spicy broth, especially the veggies because the they tend to absorb most of the oil. I highly recommend their instant ramen, lamb, beef balls, and fish tofu to go with the spicy broth. The instant ramen tastes EXTREMELY awesome with the broth! It’s not healthy but it’s a must! I always try to get a second order of ramen but I always get too full from the other sides. It’s a good deal for AYCE and the servers cook the BBQ meat for you. I’d come back again just for the hotpot!

All in all, I think it’s closer to a 3.5 star. Not quite a 4 but i think it’s better than a 3. Upon walking into the restaurant I realized that this seemed more of a hotpot place than a korean BBQ restaurant. They do offer both as an all you can eat option for $ 23. You just can’t beat that. With that said, they do have alot of options for the hotpot but not as much for the korean BBQ. The flavoring was good but the bulgogi tasted like the sauce was a bit watered down. It wasn’t bad though, but not quite as potent as the usual korean BBQ joints. We did thoroughly enjoy the options and the food quality was great for AYCE. They also have a sauce bar which we LOVED. There’s just something about having the option to make your own sauce and putting as much garlic and scallions in it as you want without continuously bothering your waiter. The waiters were very attentive and came back often to ask if we wanted more brought out. Our water and soup broth were refilled regularly. We did have a funny moment when we asked for 10 quail eggs for our second round, they brought back about 20 and you could totally tell there was judgement all over the waiter’s face. We had a good laugh about it after he left the table. I would definitely come back if I wanted hotpot or both but would not come back just for korean BBQ.

Hands down probably the best value for what you’re getting. I haven’t seen any other place offer hot pot and Korean bbq AYCE, and for $ 24 it is a steal. It also has a sauce bar which is nice. They give you plenty of flavors so you can create your own or go with a pre made one. That being said, I felt like the Korean bbq was subpar. However, I did enjoy the hotpot with the spicy broth up until I saw a bug in the veggie bowl. Although I didn’t expect a whole lot from the Korean bbq, it came out even worse than I expected. All the pork belly was 85% fat as well as the brisket. Some of the decent items were the ribeye and the shrimp for Korean bbq. The hotpot with spicy broth is pretty good. The broth is nice and spicy but has quite a bit of oil so we skimmed a bunch of it off into a bowl. The bowl was filled to the top and there was still a lot of oil. Just a heads up, you will not feel good after you eat this. That is pretty much a given with all the oil that’s in the broth. As much as I want to love this place, there were a few missteps that made me give two stars. If you want a good price for hot pot + Korean bbq AYCE, this is a good place to go. Their service is pretty good and they bring food out promptly. I’m not ruling out a return to this place but I may wait a while to see if they clean things up.

This place deserves a better rating. Not sure why ppl be hatin, but whatever I enjoyed it. For $ 24, it’s all you can eat Korean BBQ and Chinese hot pot. My 2 favs combined. The best meat there was the kalbi. I think they have the best kalbi in Dallas. So tender and flavorful! I was pretty impressed with the food for a buffet. The quality of the meat was legit. Way better than non-buffet KBBQ or hot pot. The broth of the hot pot was not my fav, but I can deal with it. I’m there mainly for the BBQ. There’s plenty of options for meat for you protein lovers, seafood for you pescetarians, and veggies for you tree huggers. But if you are a vegetarian, don’t even bother wasting your money by coming here. Their banchans weren’t great so don’t have high hope for it either. But if you’re craving protein, this is your place, booboo. The service was excellent everytime I go. Everyone was so nice, friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed my experiences so far.

$ 24 all you can eat Hot Pot and Kbbq!!! $ 1 beer!!! Only place in Dallas that I know of that does both hot pot and kbbq. I was AMAZED by the fresh quality of the meat and the vegetables. They have lots of seafood — shrimp, clams, etc. And you can get unlimited quantities!!! Without feeling ashamed since the servers are so nice!!! We went to the sauce bar and got the sauce for hot pot first. They give you a pencil and a paper with all the hot pot and Kbbq items. There are three columns for three rounds of orders but you can just order as you run out. The spicy hot pot flavor was really spicy! Definitely recommend it if you love the numbing feeling. We got half spicy and half herbal broth. Get the Kbbq steak and galbi ribs. Again, amazing quality. Better than Jin! The service is amazing! They even cook kbbq for you! Make sure to leave a good tip though! They work hard! Will definitely come back frequently! I have a feeling the price is for their grand opening and may go up soon.

New place in the area next to 99 Ranch. It’s a very modern looking place that combines Hot Pot with Korean BBQ. The staff was super friendly and even helped us cook some of the meats on the BBQ grill and made sure we were never without drinks of food. You can choose between 5 broths or a combination of 2. We chose spicy and original(the kids don’t take spicy). The broth is good, but I prefer Little Sheep’s. Otherwise the food was good and plentiful and we actually received everything we ordered(sometimes a problem at Little Sheep). A really cool idea is their sauce buffet where you can either take a few pre-mixed sauces or make your own! The lamb is great for both Hot Pot and BBQ. The Bulgogi and short ribs are awesome for the BBQ. Altogether a great experience for the whole family and definitely worth the $ 23.99(for adults) for all-you-can-eat!

Craving Korean BBQ but the rest of your party is craving hotpot? Or are you craving BOTH? Nbd. JT5’s got you covered. AYCE Korean BBQ and hotpot for $ 23.95. I think each dining table has a grill and a stove. Each table is given a sheet of paper where you can mark what items you want for each Korean BBQ and your hotpot. There’s also a self service bar where you get your own sauces. The Korean BBQ here is actually pretty good. The meat is excellent quality. This place is close to Jin’s but I personally think the meat quality and marinade here is much better. Plus Jin’s charges $ 3 for lettuce now so JT5’s got my business especially with their better meat quality. The hotpot here is pretty standard. We got the duo pot and got both the«original style» broth and the«spicy style» broth. Broths flavors were decent but my only complaint is that the«spicy style» broth was extremely oily and not that spicy. It left my lips feeling super glossy.

Hot pot and Korean BBQ all at the same time, and only one price! Good broth. This place got pretty busy on a week night, but service was decent with the waiter coming by a few times to refill water, and take our next wave of orders. One thing I will say is they probably have the best Galbee out of all the all-you-can-eat Korean bbq joints in Dallas. The beef tongue was good, the meats for the hotpot were nice and thin and cooked fairly quickly. The only downside I saw was they had some tables to seat 8 people, and only about 2 burners(for hot pot) at those tables… so if you have alot of people wanting hot pot in your party, I would stick to one of the round tables. They have quite an extensive spice/sauce bar, and I love loading up my soup and sauces on thinly sliced garlic and green onion which they have plenty of. They don’t limit you to how many«rounds» you can order so feel free to space yourself out or just go HAM on the Galbee. Trust me, the Galbee here is awesome, if I went again I would not waste my time with any other meat than Galbee.

This place is perfect for you if you want Jin Korean bbq and little sheep Mongolian hot pot, but you can’t decide which one to go to. JT5 has both for you and what sets them apart from the other two is a spice/sauce bar, which I greatly appreciate because I am a sauce/dipping person. I still prefer Jin or little sheep by themselves, but this still isn’t bad. We tried their $ 9.95 lunch special where you can select between 2 – 3 types of meat, vegetables and sides for either the grill or the hot pot. You can also pay $ 23.95 for all you can eat. The Chinese herbal broth is pretty similar to little sheep’s non-spicy broth. Although the sliced Lamb isn’t as good as little sheep’s, it tasted more dry. They do have about 4 – 5 other types of broth selections and I like that they have beef meatballs. The restaurant looks small from the outside, but when you walk in, it’s huge! The male host at the front door wasn’5 that friendly but I don’t expect much from Asian restaurant workers. Then there was a bit of language barrier with the male waiter, which must be really new because he didn’t know the answers to most of our questions.
