chicken teriyaki, california roll bento box — the chicken didn’t taste all that good. maybe they boiled it too much before grilling? there were little flies around our table.

The food here is good. The portions are great too. I don’t like how their tea isn’t free and that they don’t offer free edamame like Ume sushi does. The staff is nice but every time I come here I always feel rushed by this one particular waitress. She seems to give short fast answers when I ask a question. Kind of the reason why I avoid this place. Other than that the place is clean and inviting. It gets really busy during lunch which is a good sign.

They have a great lunch bento special. They have many options to choose from and they are all pretty yummy. I’ve been here many times and I also like the sushi.

Our local sushi spot came through for lunch. We decided to try the«Hwe Dup Bop, a Sendo Specialty»($ 16.95). We were pleasantly surprised. It’s a salad made with baby greens, seaweed, and topped with raw, sashimi-grade fish. There’s a spicy Korean sauce, conveniently placed in a squeeze bottle, that really ties it all together. Highly recommend this for sushi lovers trying to get more veggies and less carbs. It is also a super value… a lot of food for that price. We also got a bento box. We weren’t impressed with their cooked food previously, but I asked for the Salmon Teriyaki to NOT be well done. It was really good! The salmon was still silky on the inside and the portion size was substantial. We’ve been here many times and the seafood is always fresh and high-quality. Not a fancy date place, but a cozy local joint. Also…what is up with the people ordering only cooked food and leaving 3 stars? This place is not known for it’s cooked food. If you order the Teriyaki Chicken or Tonkatsu, it is NOT the best thing they do here. We’ve always had good service, but perhaps it’s because they recognize us?

Surprisingly good. Ordered a Salmon Teriyaki and the salmon was quite juicy. Sashimi was fresh. The only thing was the spicy tuna roll being a little too spicy and the wood seat was not comfortable.

Wow! This place is wonderful! I was greeted by the entire staff before the door closed behind me, the food was amazing and the sushi chefs were so sweet! I sat at the bar by myself and the talented sushi chefs kept me entertained and gave me some tasty treats! I will definitely eat here again when I’m in the area! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could!

Ugh, I’d give this place 0 stars if I could. NEGATIVESTARS if Unilocal allowed it. My friend and I went for lunch today, We got there at 12:45, so no lunch crowd. When the server came over to take our order, I asked him a question about a menu item. He said«it’s on the menu, look at it.» I am not lying. What kind of answer is that? «It’s on the menu.» Anyway, we placed our order and then waited. And waited and waited and waited. The guy behind me(who came in after us) got his meal and we waited and waited some more. The people across the restaurant got their food. The people in the back got their food. And still we waited and waited. At 1:15, I walked over to a man I presumed was the owner and asked if he could check on our food because the waiter had disappeared. The guy asks«table 12?» Seriously? How do I know what table I’m at? Anyway, he said he’d check but do you think he put any urgency to my request? No, he finished wrapping napkins or whatever he was doing and then went and yelled in the general vicinity of the kitchen. Still no food. At 1:20, I caught the eye of the cashier and told her we were leaving. She wanted to go see about our order; I told her it was about 15 minutes too late and walked out. Tip to the owner/manager if you read your Unilocal reviews: get rid of the male server who worked lunch today(1÷11÷16). He had a seriously bad attitude and was a piss poor server.

You guys charged me TWICE for my meal on Christmas eve — which I will be disputing and I better get my money back. Also your Sake Nigiri was by far hard to eat — it was not fresh at all.

I’ve always noticed this place is so busy, so I thought I’d give it a try. I’m very particular about sushi. I was thoroughly impressed. Quick and professional service. Th food is delicious! The orange roll is amazing!!!

With no other customers at 12:00 on a Monday my group of four took our seats and ordered right away. Friendly server with quick drink service and great food delivery pace. Most of our food, including the I Love You roll and the teriyaki salmon were awesome! Unfortunately we had some down sides such as the hot tea tasting like fish water, the lion king roll tasting odd and our rice being undercooked. But sharing plates with each other we were able to satisfy everyone. The place is cute and could make the ranks someday but they definitely have some kinks to work out.

This is a strong three stars. Nothing was wrong with the meal or the service. Ended the meal full and pleased and particularly because I didn’t leave with a nasty taste in mouth or a stomachs ache. Went here because I saw a Unilocal picture for their mango paradise roll. Anyone sushi place that uses fruit in their rolls an I’m there. Only reason it’s not getting more stars is that I’ve had much better. But I’ll definitely be back.

Just started the new job in Pleasanton, so trying to explore the walkable places first before I start spreading out with the car. I was hoping to find some in-building sandwich shops, but my coworkers did point me to this shopping center with a few options. As Sendo was one of the few non-chains, I figured I’d give them a shot. Larger than I was expecting, and it did start to fill up as lunch went on, you’ll notice the U-shaped sushi bar with some bar seating, tables on the left and center, and some booths on the right wall. As it was just me, I decided to sit at the bar. As others have pointed out, this is Korean operated, which explains the Bulgogi and some other Korean options on the menu. They do have typical entrees: donburi, tempura, teriyaki, noodle soups, but most of the menu is focused on different sushi rolls. While the selection is huge, as someone who has moved more to just nigiri, the selection isn’t anything to go out of the way for. What I do like are the simple lunch options. You can get a bento with an entrée, two sides, soup, salad, and rice for $ 12, which isn’t too bad for as much as I know. I got the pork katsu with gyoza and california roll. Again, none of it was worth going out of the way for, but if I was in a crunch and craving sushi, it would do. Or until I find out how good Sato and Sozo are(and those are just the three within a few blocks).

This is our family’s go-to spot for some affordable, tasty sushi. My favorite roll has to be the 49ers with some fresh lemon on top. They do skimp on the salmon sometimes, but it’s never left me unsatisfied. Heads up: the raw fish they use on their rolls are relatively fresh, but other seafood selections might not be. If you’re looking for nice rolls to eat or maybe some cooked fish, Sendo’s your place to go. More than anything, my family likes the service here. The waiters/waitresses are always really friendly and attentive. Yep, I’m a fan.

We come here for lunch is small groups of 3 – 5 usually on weekdays. WAITTIMES: 8.5÷10. It is ok(immediate seating) on weekdays, but does get crowded on Friday after 12, so plan accordingly. SEATING: 7⁄10. They have decent seating, about 4 booths and bar seating and a few double or more seatings. If you are planning for large parties, the I would advise you to call ahead. WAITSTAFF: 8.5÷10. The have pretty good wait staff. Sometimes, when they are crowded, it could get a bit crazy, so keep following up with your waitstaff to ensure that your food is coming. FOOD: 8.5÷10. Food is good, they have some pretty good rolls. Here are our regulars: Lion King Roll(Baked Salmon) Bento Box items we usually order(served with Miso soup, fresh salad and rice): — California Roll — Spicy Tuna Roll — Spicy Chicken — Combination Tempura — Salmon Teriyaki — Chicken Teriyaki We will definitely continue to come back here, food served is healthy and this is one of the better Sushi places around Dublin/Pleasanton area.

There is no shortage of Japanese/Sushi restaurants in the Dublin/Pleasanton area… Sendo Sushi is definitely one that’s worth checking out! I’ve only been here once, but the food was good, service was great! They have good deals on saki! The décor of the restaurant is super cute! Overall we left our dinner feeling satisfied. The only reason i’m not giving Sendo more stars is because(to me) it wasn’t that memorable. Maybe after i try it again I will be able to speak to what was good about the food, but for now I can only think of Sendo as one of many good Japanese restaurants in the area.

Walked in for lunch, we were seated, placed our orders, server brought us Miso, I noticed a cockroach on the picture frame behind us — dead, but nevertheless still a cockroach… Had to flag down our server, told him, and walked out! If I could give zero stars, I would. Won’t be going back.

The tempura is super good. Light, crunchy and not oily. Veggie roll was a hit for me. Lots of texture and flavor in a simple roll. Docked ½ a star since service was a little slow.

Sendo sushi has a fun selection of sushi rolls and good prices on all their menu items. At lunch you get edamame upon sitting and usually a cup of soup no charge! The rolls have fresh fish, and are very tasty. I love the dragon roll and the cherry roll. They have fantastic presentation of their food. I even saw someone order a menu item that came to the table on fire! Their lunch bento boxes are inexpensive and filling– great for a work day. Their tempura leaves something to be desired but all things considered I love the food. Caution, come early because they do get packed and for whatever reason they don’t feel the need to fully staff themselves. I have never seen more than 2 waitresses and this leaves you waiting for drink refills at lunch or stranded if you want to order more. For this reason I gave 4 stars but it doesn’t prevent me from coming back again and again!

Haven’t been back to Sendo for a year after experiencing such slow service(on numerous occasions). I just visited last week and seen mass improvement. I’m inclined to give a more accurate rating. Solid 3 ½ stars. I arrived around 12:30pm; they were fairly packed but our food arrived on time and we were out of there within 45 mins. Massive improvement from a year ago. Food was good. Ordered the zz roll which was tempura shrimp roll with spicy crab topped with tempura bits. Tasty but the roll fell apart while trying to eat it. I don’t hold that against them since Id rather get my food quicker than wait an hour. My friend ordered a bento box lunch which was good. Chicken teriyaki was solid, not overcooked and plenty flavorful. Size was reasonable as I think it’s enough for one person. Overall pleasant lunch experience. Food is solid, service is now up to par where I wouldn’t hesitate coming back for lunch.

My awesome co-worker told me she would take me anywhere I wanted to go for my birthday lunch. I set my sights on somewhere new to me so I randomly chose Sendo. This place is in a strip mall, it’s fairly tiny and was pretty busy(good for them!). I went with the Green Dragon roll. It consists of shrimp tempura, cucumber, crab and avocado and costs $ 11. We also shared the Gyoza. I definitely enjoyed my lunch and my semi-sushi snob friend gave it a thumbs up, so four stars it is!
