I do love the retro 50s theme goin on here. The food and service were just OK. The back patio was OK the inside dining was classic vintage 50s style. Overall a nice spot to hangout whilst soaking up the Port Townsend tourist attractions.

Kinda pricey for the burgers — premium price, average execution. More worthwhile on the ice cream. And definitely good décor if 50s dinerdom rocks your boat.

The food was really good. I had fish and chips and the fish was perfect: golden brown, just the right amount of breading, nice fresh halibut. My man got a burger, and he thought it was tasty, although nothing spectacular. The service was friendly although it took a bit for us to get refills on our drinks. The best part of the whole experience was the fifties atmosphere. I would recommend anyone to try this restaurant, even if it’s just to stop by and have an ice cream. It’s a cute place to stop if you’re walking through beautiful downtown Port Townsend.

Service sucks, passed over and ignored… must be too good for me. Can’t comment on food. left and won’t return.

Nice place to stop & rest and have ice cream on a hot summer day. They also have other items in addition to ice cream. There is an eating area just outside where you can enjoy your ice cream & watch the boats going by. They also have restrooms which are hard to find in Port Townsend.

Very limited food menu. Classic American Diner. Couldn’t do a side salad, they only would make a full dinner size salad and have only a few dressings to choose from. No blue cheese or balsamic vinegar. Was not impressed and wouldn’t want to eat here again.

Go here purely for the ice cream. It’s a place FOR shakes and sodas so don’t expect them to be great at shakes and ice cream as well as the food, because their main focus is the ice cream

Not fantastic but not terrible. I was hoping for a bit more authenticity but the icecream was old and had ice through it. Food was fried so you can’t mess that up. I guess what bothered me was that they were all speaking Spanish to each other behind the bar. It took away from the over all feel.

This is easily the worst meal of my life. If you want to be turned off of crab for at least a year, then order the crab salad. At best it’s imitation crab out of a can, at worst cat food. The texture was gooey and awful. I almost threw up after one bite, which is all I can handle. $ 12 down the drain, but what was worse was the memory ruining my day. I never write Unilocal reviews but felt I should warn others. On top, the dressing was store bought and sickly sweet.

I was in town with the kids and they walked and immediately wanted to go in because it looked like we had been thrown back in to the 50’s and the diner looked so awesome! We decided to come back the next day for icecream after reading the reviews on Unilocal about the food(not good reviews for food and prices). We did come back the next day and ordered ice cream cones. The ice cream was delicious, albeit a bit pricey. The server was super friendly and efficient. The kids and I enjoyed sitting in the diner eating icecream and listening to old songs on the juke box. The kids loved picking«oldies» out to listen to. Two of the kids even started dancing. I enjoyed the diner and we would definitely come back but probably just for ice cream.

Way overpriced and the food is mediocre for what it is. Service was slow and overall. I would not recommend or eat here again. Find somewhere else.

Was looking for a bite before heading to Seattle for Chinese… popped in here. Food was good, nothing wow blasting call your friends and tell em about it or anything, but good Had some fish n chips, burgers, corn dogs and ice cream. Fries were great and service was excellent!

Slow service, didn’t get a lot of fries with our 11.00 burgers. Potatoes don’t cost a lot, give more fries! But the burger was delicious.

Great location, great vintage atmosphere and décor, and great diner food. They have a working jukebox! Each table has its own coin slot so you can reserve the next song. I remember a couple years ago they were serving phosphate-style sodas like all the soda fountains used to serve decades ago, where they would mix a tangy fruit-flavored soda for you basically from scratch, with old-fashioned ingredients. Phosphate sodas are not on their online menu any more, but it’s worth a visit to see if they still do those. This was one of the very few places in the northwest where you can still get that kind of soda.

The food was only average. We had 3 sandwiches, 2 shakes, side of garlic fries and heartburn when we got the bill. Over $ 45. The help was nice and said they have been there 13 years. Figured they were still working off their bill.

Just okay(food, service) just passable. Plusses are: view patio out back, one local IPA& allows dogs. They were out of crab which I’d really wanted just having arrived on the Olympic peninsula with dreams of fresh crab(really how does one run out of crab here in midst of crab season??). Service was just ok — woman not friendly, rushed, never checked back before we got the bill to see if everything was ok, almost surly when I asked for water. We had salmon salad and salmon burger. Will def try elsewhere — Unilocal lists so many other well-rated places nearby.

I ordered the halibut strips with fries and shared with my mom. After finishing the meal, we were slightly disappointed with the order. My expectations weren’t that high considering what I knew about the place beforehand and I wasn’t let down by assuming so. The food, drinks, and sundaes were quite frankly overpriced for the quality of each. My mom and I joked how at home we could make almost the same sundaes for a lot cheaper price. I wouldn’t go as far as saying for one not to go there, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it either. However, it’s ultimately a personal choice to whether paying the price for a neat atmosphere outweighs mediocre food that’s considerably pricey.

This meal was a study in blandness. I had the mushroom Swiss burger, which is my usual at any burger joint. Dry frozen patty with no seasoning to speak of, dry bun, bland mushrooms. The fries were mushy but were(thankfully) salted appropriately. Kids burgers and fries meals cost the same as regular entrees. My cup had dirty dried on lipstick on it, and the whole place could’ve used a Clorox wipe taken to it. The only(mildly) redeeming factor is the fun of a fifties style soda fountain, and the gorgeous water view. I would say the the ice cream, malts, and floats are(just) ok if you are looking for a fun dessert, however I will not be returning for a meal.

Not sure why, but this restaurant didn’t really resonate with me. The atmosphere looked amazing from the outside, and the menu posted in the window had some yummy-sounding options, but once inside, it was kind of a letdown. I ordered the crab sandwich and a chocolate milkshake. The shake was great, but the sandwich only«meh.» It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t restaurant quality. Especially for how much it cost. I really don’t have anything bad to say about this place, it just wasn’t for me. I probably won’t be back.
