If you can view this video… DO. This was a room that was checked into and came this way… absolutely disgusting. Pay $ 15 more to go ANYWHERE ELSE to avoid HIV, bedbugs, theft, drug deals, and bad customer service. I didn’t take this video, but a friend of a friend had a recent stay here and this was their experience. Absolutely horrible. Not to mention, if you’re EVER finding a hotel near the Portland Airport for under $ 80, expect it to be horrid… nothing is that cheap here for good value, don’t kid yourself.

My husband and I used a
to book a room at studio 6. The booking app guaranteed the room for $ 63.34/per night. We reserved the room using our card and was given 8 hours to cancel the reservation without penalty or fees of any kind. We found a better hotel & price elsewhere 30 MINUTES later so I cancelled the Studio 6 reservation exactly 37 Minutes after making it. We got a confirmation email from the booking app showing the cancellation, which stated no charge. A few days later while reviewing our bank statement we learned that not only did studio 6 charge us for the room but they charged us $ 79.56 not $ 63.34 as quoted. Upon calling the hotel for a refund they denied any responsibility to provide a refund and blamed the whole thing on the booking app. The booking app (which has been super awesome and helpful) proved to us that they provided the hotel the same cancellation verification they provided us upon cancelling.
is refunding the entire amount charged to our account and will go after the hotel for their reimbursement. After all this the freaking hotel is still trying to stop the booking app from reimbursing us. Not only will we never stay at studio 6 we are sending an email to everyone we know advising them of the situation and warning them of the shady practices of this establishment. Zero stars. If I could give a negative star rating I would.

Twice they have messed up my reservation. A full year apart no less. I guess shame on me for giving them a second chance. This time they completely gave away my room and had no excuse or care.
Will NOT make this mistake again. Do not give this company any money. They may be cheap but dollar hamburger not always best deal…

WARNING: BED BUGS in this hotel/​inn!
I have over 20 BED BUG BITES from staying at this hotel/​inn & am still suffering from the effects of the bites after leaving this hotel! Even saw a LIVE CRAWLING BED BUG ON THE BED & notified the hotel staff who saw it — including the manager (Maria)! She denied several times to me of never hearing of bed bugs being at this hotel (which is not true). Found other reviews on Unilocal about others experiencing BED BUGS at this hotel as well, wished I had read those reviews BEFORE I stayed here. NEVER AGAIN will that happen!
I had left the hotel immediately & went to see an urgent care physician for these bites & was prescribed antibiotics for them.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Would NOT stay at this hotel ever again & would NOT recommend this hotel to anybody.

Fire the manager and «cleaning staff». Absolutely disgusting news segment.

I booked a king size room for two nights through Expedia. The pictures and everything made this hotel look very clean and put together. Once I got to the hotel the service was horrible. The two women at the counter had no idea what they were doing and it took us 45 minutes just to check in. There was a $ 150 deposit that was not mentioned anywhere. Once we got to the counter and checked in they didn’t have the room we booked and we had to take a room with two beds instead of the one. Both sheets were disgusting and covered in hair. The room reeked of marijuana and the fridge was moldy. I will never stay at that hotel again!

On Feb. 1^st, 2015 I checked out at around 9:45 AM. I attempted to leave the hotel property but could not because a blue honda civic with a TN license plate # M00 19G had parked in the aisle blocking me and 5 other cars in. I notified the front desk clerk and she attempted to find out who’s car it was, so they could move it. The car was no registered with the hotel. So the clerk then called all the occupied rooms to see if it was a guest of a hotel customer. When none of the hotel customer’s claimed the car, she then called the tow truck company A&B Towing. Even though the hotel has a contract with the tow company, the company refused to tow the car.
The front desk clerk then contacted the general manager Maria. The general manager refused to do anything. I attempted to speak with the general manager and she refused to speak with me over the phone claiming she would not be there until 3 PM.
Finally another tow truck company agreed to tow the car if the general manager signed a contract with them. However the general manager refused to show up until another worker called her and he only called her because I got tired of waiting and I called the cops.
By the time the general manager Maria finally showed up, she only spoke to me after one potential guest walked out and another cancelled their reservation because of the way the general manager Maria refused to deal with the situation of my car being blocked in for over four hours.
Once the tow truck driver was getting ready to tow the car the owner suddenly appeared and moved the car. The cop who was at the hotel stopped the guy and spoke with him. According to the owner of the car, he has a deal with the general manager that his employees can leave his car there for him to pick up later.
I don’t understand why the general manager Maria would give permission for this guy and his employees to block hotel guest in and then not do anything when that guest has to leave but can’t.
Due to Maria’s lack of consideration for hotel guest I am requesting the cost of my stay be refunded to me. Maria’s incompetence as a manager caused me to miss two appointments and reschedule another. As the general manager she should have taken ownership of this issue, instead she tried to avoid the situation causing it to get out of hand. I am attaching pictures as proof of me being blocked in by the general manager’s friend.

I stayed at the America’s Best Value Inn with my family (there were 7 of us the week we were there) in December 2014. I must say that there are pros and cons of this hotel. To cut to the chase, if the hotel would simply make a few adjustments to their customer’s experience, this would be an excellent place to stay. Here’s some more detail:
Pros:
1. Excellent rate (we paid around $ 460 for an entire week).
2. The rooms were quite spacious and in good condition. Our room had a bed and sofa bed in the living room, a separate bedroom, a kitchenette and bathroom. We were comfortable with 7 of us (3 adults and 4 kids ages 2 – 8).
3. Polite staff and a prompt check in service.
4. The hotel is near grocery stores (Walmart, Safeway), a movie theater (Cinemark) restaurants and is only a few minutes drive from Lloyd’s Mall. If you drive abour 10 minutes, you can be downtown and visit the food pods. Interestingly, 82^nd Avenue has a TON of car lots with excellent prices. If I hadn’t spent my money on Christmas, I probably would have entertained buying a new vehicle.
5. We saw none of the bed bug or water damage issues noted in other reviews (perhaps they’ve cleaned up those issues?). The faucet in our shower was really finicky though and made a God-​awful screeching noise. I think it needed to be cleaned and must have had some sort of build-​up.
Cons:
1. When you get the weekly rate, they make you sign a «tenant» agreement. Long story short, they don’t provide you with any housekeeping the entire week. I’ve never seen that, even at hotels where I’ve stayed for 1 – 2 weeks. Is it that hard to have a housekeeper tidy up? It helps avoid the feeling of being in a hotel for a long period.
2. There are no elevators in this facility. Terrible if you’re handicapped, although I’m sure they hold handicap-​accessible rooms on the first floor. But still, when you’re carrying groceries and kids to your room on the second floor, an elevator would be appreciated.
3. I have a hard time complaining about breakfast service when it is free but for what it’s worth: Their breakfast is a little on the cheap side. They provide cereal (Frosted Flakes and Raisin Bran only), milk, bread and a toaster, juice, and frozen waffles (yes, the pre-​packaged waffles taken from the freezer and placed on the display).
4. The parking structure under the building was fine. No issues during our entire stay. Now the staircase leading from the parking lot to the lobby had the weirdest bleach odor that was quite nauseating.
5. The towels are terrible. They’re really small (a kitchen towel to most). And you have to hunt down a housekeeper for replacements.
6. I wish they would have had a fitness room (even a basic one). It rained most of the time there and a treadmill would have been a welcomed amenity.
Summary:
I’m not sure if I would stay there again. While the price was excellent, I feel I probably would have paid a little bit more for a slightly better customer service experience. That said, not many hotels can accommodate such large families so that is worth keeping in mind if you’re visiting the area.

–You will have an issue at check-​in. Myself and two other parties did on the same day. (4 hours to check-​in)
–They will charge your card without telling you beforehand. They ask to see your card at check-​in. When you check your bank statement they charged a $ 100 deposit. They do not feel the need to explain that to you?
–Management will speak in spanish badly about you.
–Once managements shift is done they will walk out mind conversation.
–Parking is monitored by the homeless population.
When moving to Portland I stayed at America’s Best Value Inn due to needing a room for a few hours, and being able to see my car with all my personal items inside. Mistake on my part because the front of the hotels parking is ONLY for loading and not for parking. Worst part when you go to the underground parking there are many homeless people down there peering in windows.
After this I decided it was impossible to stay at this hotel with all of my belongings in a car that was not going to be monitored. I kindly went to the front desk and explained my situation and how I wouldn’t mind being switch to another property where I could watch my car. WORST SERVICE ever at a hotel, even motel, in my life. The front desk associate looked like she was on the verge of tears the whole time and had NO informative information as to solving my problem. even better was the manager who did not acknowledge that I was present (believe her name was Maria) besides talking in spanish to the front desk girl. Heads up Maria! Spanish is not a secret langue and many people (even the white ones as you put it) can understand spanish.
This was such a horrible experience that I even called Priceline to have them refund my room because I could not take the horrible service. I explained to the front desk and Maria that they will be calling them to authorize the refund. Maria grabbed the phone from the front desk agent to explain they will not be giving a refund and that I can just lose out on the night I had booked. Best part was that Maria (the manager) walked out claiming her shift was over right in the middle of the whole thing while explaining to the front desk agent to not refund me. Great move on Maria’s part because all the agent could say after that was that a «manager would need to authorize the refund.» wasting a total of 4 hours of my life.
Keep in mind I work in the hospitality and travel industry so I know that this is NOT the way you run a hotel, let alone any business. When a guest goes out of their way because they feel extremely uncomfortable in your hotel you best refund the room.
Did I mention they ran my card for a deposit without disclosing that information to me until after the fact? Honestly, too many things to list as to why any hotel in Portland is better than this one.
This back and forth with the front desk went on so long that I was able to see two other parties check in and have the same horrible experience of being told their reservation was for the wrong day and if they want a place to stay they will need to pay more.
Bottom line plan on having an issue when staying at this hotel. Period. Then plan on spending over 4 hours at check in being told nothing to solve the issue. When I have many visiting family members come into town this will be a nice horror story to tell them as we drive to any other hotel in the Portland area.

my dad actually booked this hotel through Priceline and we’ve never had an issue with hotels until this one!
Checking in wasn’t a problem and Daisa was actually a wonderful girl. The only part I wasn’t looking forward to is that the manager of the hotel was having a party for her grandson/​nephew and they were being a little loud.
HOWEVER, the rooms and hotel environment are absolutely disgusting and didn’t hold up to our expectations! We booked a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchenette but when we looked in the cabinets, there were no dishes or nothing to cook with.
The bathroom had a half used roll of toilet paper & no additional rolls, the bathtub had rust spots on the ledge and floor of tub was cracked. WORST PART = Dead cockroach behind the door.
The private bedroom had a broken closet door that was off the tracks and both rooms smelt awful & this is when I decided to look them up on Unilocal.
They have two floors and no elevators.
As soon as I read that people have gotten bed bugs from this place, I was absolutely disgusted and new immediately that we had to get out as soon as possible.

Ok, so it’s not the Ritz.
I’ve been here 3 days and it’s not fancy, but well worth the price.
No bedbugs, everything was clean. The room is HUGE!
Towels are not so great. Clean but tiny.
Staff is nice and friendly.

Since leaving that night I have received a refund. However my mother who ended up staying despite the below poor conditions now has A SEVERE infestation of bed bugs to deal with. This is a photo of my one year-​old son after staying the night at her house, before we knew about the bed bugs. This motel is absolutely absurdly disgusting and I will be reporting this.

I’m giving it one star because the WIFI was pretty fast & reliable. However the room was in poor repair cheap minimal furniture and the staff unempowered to make a difference. We waited 45 minutes to check in, and every other time we needed to get something from the front desk there was only one person who could only help one customer at a time. The tub was repaired with what we think was bondo, the window couldn’t open b/​c a cable was installed improperly. The furniture cheap & broken. We wouldn’t have stayed here if we checked Unilocal b4 booking and paying in advance. Avoid this place like the plague

In one word: BEDBUGS.
I was itching & scratching from the moment I got into bed until the next morning. Worst night of sleep ever. I wasn’t expecting miracles for the price but this is unacceptable. No elevator either. You couldn’t pay me to go back.
Don’t say you weren’t warned.

I would say that «Value» is the key word in this company’s name, not «Best». But, aside from the gaping hole in the ceiling and the 15″ tube TV that operated like it was on six hits of acid, I can’t really complain.

— TV didn’t work (non-​functioning outlet)
— Outdated, patchy paint, holes in ceiling
— Hide or keep your valuables on you when out of your room
Honestly, 1 star is too generous. I’ve stayed at a lot of questionable hotels while on cross-​country drives that were better than this place…
Good if you’re only looking for a quiet place to crash for the night.

First off they put a 150 dollar hold on your credit card incase of damage .
Secondly the first room they gave us was smoked in even though we requested a non smoking room (there is a sign in the room saying you will charged 150 dollars for smoking in your room)
Thirdly the room was dirty, the cable was split between many rooms and the picture was fuzzy. The sleeper sofa was sunken in when a couch and had rips in it.
Forth we had 2 Queen beds and 4 very small pillows. Insane !
Avoid

AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.
First of all, booking was a pain through expedia. A total frikin’ nightmare.
Then, we get there and you have to buzz into the lobby. They won’t let 2 people in the lobby at the same time (or 2 sets of different guests). Our guy had a heavy accent until we started chatting football and then he was totally clear… Odd.
Rooms stank. Toothless, saggy people roaming the halls. Didn’t feel safe in the neighborhood or hotel. No soap, no shampoo, nothing.
First room, shower didn’t work.
Second room had holes in wall & door. Sheets were burned with cigarettes. Checked for bedbugs — didn’t see any. Boyfriend was afraid we’d wake up «itching or burning.»
YIKES! Now I know why all the locals were shocked when we said where we stayed.
Sure, it’s cheap but for $ 15 more we stayed in a nice, clean Ramada with breakfast & a pool. DO IT.

OMG our room smelled like piss.
But god, it was huge for only 50 $ a night.
We got two beds which I guess meant two rooms to them. And we got a full-​sized fridge and stove top. Apparently people live there as well, and I can see why. It looks like small apartment rather than a hotel room.
Plus, it was right next to the airport, and offered free shuttle service. This was very helpful for us!
But this only deserves two stars because it looks ghetto as hell, and as I said, reeked of piss. Oh, and it looked like there was rust/​mold on the bathtub. Yay.

DO NOT STAY HERE. If I could give negative stars, I would. I’ve stayed in some rinky dink places, nor was I expecting a lot: but this by far was the worst experience. The customer service was extremely poor from the beginning, should’ve been a red flag. Firstly, when we arrived at 2:45pm, the desk clerk said since it was an «early check-​in» (check-​in is at 3pm), they’d charge $ 15 dollars. Secondly, the building interior was not in the best shape: wallpaper falling apart, musty smelling rooms.
Last and certainly not least, after feeling as though things were crawling about, we discovered BED BUGS. Middle of the night be damned, we decided we had enough! At that moment, we packed up our things, demanded a refund, and checked out. Quite possibly the best part of the hotel experience. Stay at your own risk.
