Center Flow Pilates

Alithea is such a gem — both as a person and as an experienced Pilates instructor. The level of care and commitment she puts in to you and the practice itself is unrivaled. I recommend her to everybody! You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been working with Ailthea at Center Flow Pilates for over 3 years now, and am a different person now than when I began. I have a 25 year old injury that has finally started to remodel (years after my being told it was chronic, and permanent); I’ve grown half an inch taller and have materially more mobility in my spine; and I move with more strength and flexibility than I’ve had since I was a teenager.
Alithea is an extraordinary teacher: she knows when you push you, and when to be patient, and she has a gift for working with injuries. If you have a long-​standing problem that you’ve given up on fixing, or just want to stretch and strengthen your core, she’s a terrific person to work with. I strongly recommend giving this a shot.

I can’t express enough how thankful I am to have come across Center Flow. Alithea is an amazing instructor. I first started pilates after herniated disc injuries and was in dire need of strengthening my core. I had taken instruction at other places but have not been as satisfied with how my body feels than I have from Alithea’s guidance. I no longer succumb to back pain of any kind. Pilates has allowed me to better understand my body and its needs. Alithea continuously creates the challenges that I seek and appreciate.
The space is great to exercise in. Soothing natural light. I love the nuances that are provided… from music, to floral arrangements, to fragrant candle smells, and the sound of running water trickling from an indoor fountain. Such tranquility compliments the essential one-​on-​one time between instructor and student.

Intellectually, I understand that the reason putting a pair of socks on gets harder and harder every year is related to my utter lack of exercise. Combine this knowledge with my utter lack of self-​motivation and clearly, it was time to sign up for some sort of class.
I’ve never done pilates before, nor have I ever had my own personal trainer, but I signed up for a series of one-​on-​one sessions with Alithea, and I’ve gotta say, I’m pretty pleased.
The studio is peaceful, with a view out over 23^rd and a nice breeze blowing in through the window. The instruction is tailored to my abilities… and inabilites. The hour really just flies by. All the factual stuff you need to know about CenterFlow is on their website, check it out.
Oh, and if you see a woman in gray sweat pants limping down 23^rd, clutching her abs, not giving a hoot about her VPL, just know that it’s all good because those socks? She can put them on all by herself.
