Super cute place great coffee and great atmosphere. I love studying there. Good food and location. Staff can seem a little snooty though.

Nice chill environment. good place to hang out and get some work done on my computer. Lots of students doing the same as well as hanging out. Chai latte was tasty and the barista was super nice.

Since I’m one of those people who can’t really get work done at home, I take to coffee shops and cafes quite often. I had my haunts before moving to this side of the river(mostly in New Paltz), but since then, I’ve pretty much exclusively snuggled up with my work at Crafted Kup. If you’ve ever been to Cafeteria on Main St. in New Paltz, this place has the same owners, but has a completely different vibe. Rather than the cozy date/live acoustic set vibes that Cafeteria has, Crafted Kup has a real focused energy about it, as seemingly everyone there is buried deep in the computer screens and quietly working. I usually order black iced coffee(call me a ~purist~), but I’ll occasionally stray to one of their jasmine teas and maybe(MAYBE) really buck the system and get a latte. They have lots of treats like scones and bagels and biscottis, along with coffee making equipment. There’s not a ton of seating in café, which is kind of a bummer, especially when students are back for the semester. There are a few cushioned chairs and then a few simple wooden tables. I find that the tables are the best place to hunker down if you want to focus and be productive for a few hours.
Another thing I love about this place is that they seem to keep a pretty consistent staff. For a place so close to Vassar, I would expect a pretty regular roulette of college students, but I usually see them same few people there, which makes me think that they enjoy their jobs and are treated/paid well. Yay! The staff themselves are great, even when it’s really busy, they seem genuinely unbothered by any customer request and they can all make a mean cappuccino.

Popped in right before closing the other night and they still had some decaf left — and it was fresh! Can’t ask for more than that.

Good espresso drinks. Nice place to sit and work. My muffin tasted a tad old or dry. But I went twice for the lattes.

Absolutely love this place. The baristas are welcoming, the sitting area is cozy, the coffee and pastries are fantastic, and it is the perfect place for studying alone or catching up with a friend. On the weekends get there early if you want a table, the place fills up fast. I promise it is worth the early morning wake-up! Plus you can alleviate the exhaustion with some specialty drinks, my favorite being the Mocha coffeeshake in the summer and the Café Miel during the winter. Also try the pastries, I am obsessed with the raspberry corn muffin. Unfortunately the baked goods are not made there, but the owner orders the pastries from a local New York bakery that is superb. But beware, you can accidentally end up staying there all day :)

It was slightly challenging to find this place, as the map location on Unilocal isn’t entirely accurate. It’s where you’d expect it to be, in the little strip of small business that line this area, not in the middle of Vassar. Anyway, once I figured this out, I ordered an Iced Chai and an Everything bagel with their Honey Cinnamon butter. I’m not much of a coffee drinker, and chai is my go-to when I’m at coffee shops like this. The chai was defiantly good, but had a little bit of a bite to it. I’m not sure what that was, maybe too much of one of the spices in the mix. It wasn’t unpleasant, just surprising. The bagel was good, not great. It’s certainly a New York bagel but if you’re looking for the real deal kind of bagel shop New York bagel this isn’t the place for you. The Honey Cinnamon butter was really delightful, very tasty, and added a lot of dimension to the everything bagel. If I return here in the future I’ll be sure to get it again. The man behind the counter was very pleasant and seemed to want to be there. There’s a variety of seating options in the back, past where you order your food. It’s a little bit run down but overall a good place to relax and enjoy your coffee.

Oh yeah… If you’ve read any of my other reviews, you’ll know that I have a soft spot for the classic ‘Independent’ coffee house. This place fits the bill perfectly. Located a half block from the Vassar campus, it’s warm and cozy, friendly and welcoming. The lamps and furniture are second hand, the floor is scuffed, the coffee is hot and decent. And, lucky for me, it’s about five minutes from where I’m staying off of Highway 9.

Great little campus coffee shop. Looked busy with students studying in the sit down area. I got ice coffee to go and it was better than average. Staff was genuinely nice and attentive when I came in. Pricing was average.

This is the best coffee place I’ve ever been to. The coffee is always fresh and delicious. The lattes are perfect. Everything is made thoughtfully and with love! The staff is very accommodating and kind. There are great options. Different kinds of milk, flavors, blends. Great tea selection. The place is impeccably clean. The sit down area is a clean and comfortable place to hang out. And the food! Yum! Those bagels are HUGE! The pastries are fresh. I love getting the oatmeal with Nutella in it for breakfast. Whenever I have extra time before class this is my spot. Best coffee ever. Best scones ever. I want to move into the place and get fat.

The best of everything. Really friendly people, the beverages are all to legit die for, usually plenty of seating except for peak student times(ie when college students generally all want to work at the same time), atmosphere is cozy with awesome local art work, really love this place

The Crafted Kup is everything a coffee shop should be. It is a great space where you can work for hours on their free wifi and sip on excellent coffee. The Crafted Kup is strictly a coffee shop, so it is not a good place to go for lunch. But for a cappuccino and maybe a pastry, it can’t be beat. If you don’t want to stick around, you can always grab a cup to go and drink it outside on a bench or while taking in the views at nearby Vassar College. Keep in mind the shop gets crowded when Vassar students are doing homework(afternoons, particularly on weekends), so when school is in session, come early if you want to snag a table.

A cozy, cute little shop with the essentials. Solid coffee and espresso drinks for the caffeine-deprived, and(seemingly) some nice tea options. Not really the place for a coffee snob looking for a careful pour over or macchiato, but they also have a small selection of baked goods(bagels, muffins, etc.) and other food to bolster studious patrons. While Vassar is in session, the shop is often full, as they have comfortable couches and tables, and free wifi to work on. As such, if I manage to find a spot, I also find myself staying a while; there’s never any pressure to leave so it’s a nice spot to relax.

All the students in the area clearly make this place home on a Saturday afternoon. We are talking about 30 seats, nearly all taken, and not much turnover. Making this place a crowded and semi(actually pretty loud) quiet place to enjoy a coffee and do some light/free internet browsing. I’d say if I were in a student, I might try out a library or someplace a bit more secluded. If not, I’d definitely have to bring headphones since there are too many noises that would constantly distract me. All-in-all, I’d say make this a grab and go coffee shop! I tried out my first café Cubano and found it quite the treat(though I have nothing to compare it to). In fact, it’s time for me to grab and gooooo!!!

Great service and AMAZING coffee! One of the best coffee shops I’ve ever been too. You’re always greeted with a smile the minute you walk in and the baristas are knowledgeable of their products and happy to answer any questions you may have. If you live in the Poughkeepsie area this should be your everyday morning coffee stop.

Stumbled upon this place when my fiancé and friend were looking for iced coffee on a recent trip back to Vassar. Cute little coffeehouse, nice selection of teas, really delicious-looking baked goods(tried to be good so I can’t speak to the taste of them!). The iced coffee was really good, and after inquiring about the vanilla bean lemonade I saw on the board, the barista gave what I could tell was a really genuine description of how much he liked it and how good it was. I followed his suggestion and was thrilled — I would never put vanilla and lemonade together but the combo was superb! Friendly service, good coffee — I wish this place was here when I was a student!

I’m so happy this is still around! I used to go here all the time. It’s quieter than Starbucks and the coffee is a thousand times better. The baristas are super friendly — always willing to strike a conversation with you. They make the coolest latte designs. It’s a very down-to-earth atmosphere that’s perfect for some quiet time, whether you need to read, study, or just go on your computer. The only reason I gave the place four stars rather than five is because it does get a little expensive but the coffee is well-worth the price. I can’t wait to go back next time I’m in Poughkeepsie!
