Subway

This Subway is nearest to my New Jersey office, and occasionally when in a rush, I will pick up one of their submarine sandwiches to eat at my desk.
While I like the bread alternatives, and the ability to add the things I like to the sandwich, I have learned to only order the cold meals like Turkey or Chicken Salad, rather than anything requiring heating. The use of microwave to warm the food is a turn off as it makes things soggy and takes the life out of the bread loaf.
The advertising shows hearty and attractive sandwiches, but the reality of the heated dishes is quite far removed from that image. And, the taste is never good enough after radiation.
Given all the nearby alternatives (Shanghai Bun, Jake’s Wayback, Jimmie John’s, Aljon’s, etc.), Subway really lacks the quality and verve that are available all around it. The offerings are not bad, but are far from exciting. The space is tight and not designed for a comfortable sit down meal.
Honestly, Subway needs a makeover.
