Naan bread was too thin, almost like a cracker. Chicken Tikka masala tasted generic and flavorless, the chicken cubes didn’t taste like real chicken.

While we have been here several times, we have only tried two dishes the chicken tikka masal and malai kofta. Both are good. They are not the best I have had and there are definitely better Indian restaurants in the area, but for fast food Indian it is very good. Service is always really quick and I can order and be out with my take out order often in under 5 minutes. The prices and portions are reasonable. My husband and I can typically share a single order. I wish naan was standard, but since it is very good, especially the garlic naan I don’t mind paying extra for it.

I would say I always have a craving for the Indo-Chinese food and this does the job. The Indo-Chinese food that I have grown up eating back home specially on the streets can never be replicated here. Having said that, the food at Masala Wok is far better than Inchin’s Bamboo Garden or Bombay Chopsticks. I have tried various dishes here and frankly speaking, the Indian dishes are more better than the Indo-Chinese ones. The food tastes good overall. The reason I say its not great because take for instance the Chicken Manchurian — which is like meatballs but with chicken prepared in a Manchurian sauce. The sauce here tastes good but the meatballs thing… is not exactly what it is suppose to be. It is just pieces of chicken in that Manchurian sauce. The service is good and fast so no complaints on that. Only if they made the food more like what it is supposed to be like… then I would definitely increase my rating here.

Any dish we order. Paneer tikka masala, kofta curry. They user same common tasting gravy in these curries. Will prefer if the taste of curries are at least different.

Their lunch is normally pretty good. Found a piece of glass in my rice today, however. Told the lady at the counter who then took the plate to the back. The manager didn’t come out. No apology was received. No lunch comp was offered. Really disappointed with their service today. Probably won’t be back.

Changed the menu recently and quantity dropped rapidly and price went up. Feeling bad because I used to go there because of good food.

The food is awesome at this restaurant. Fast food Asian and Indian cuisine! What an awesome concept. The food is always freshly made to order. The atmosphere is casual and friendly.

I should’ve taken the other posters’ advice and not eaten the chicken tikka masala for dinner. It wasn’t bad — truly it wasn’t. It also wasn’t good. The sauce simply lacked a ton of flavor, it almost had none. In fairness, the chicken was cooked properly and the naan was excellent. I simply cannot recommend this restaurant at dinner time. I will have to try it during the lunchtime hour as it seems the reviews are more favorable then. I just can’t imagine it being that much different…

My boyfriend took me here for the first time and I thought it was an interesting experience. This place is definitely a fusion and from what I remember it was mainly Indian/Thai fusion? Something along those lines. My boyfriend has been here multiple times, so I had him order for me. He ordered curry for me and ordered something like fried cheese for himself(?) We switched our dishes to try it, to be honest, I like my curry more than his. The fried cheese tasted OK. It wasn’t amazing and it seemed kind of plain. My curry had more flavor and seasoning, and they give you lots of rice with it(I love rice – typical Asian). Would I recommend this place? I think it’s a nice place nearby if you want to grab a quick bite(?). But I don’t dream about going to this place. I’m glad I tried it, though. YOUSHOULD, TOO!

Nice option for vegetarians: malai kofta. Must try. Ambience is good. Best Indian food option for UTD students nearby.

I waited for 20 minutes at lunch before asking them about my food, then waited for another 10 minutes. Staffs were inattentive, and the room was only half full.

I get lunch here, and the food is always good. Fresh, flavored right, etc. Whenever we try it for dinner, it’s disgusting. Tikka Masala tastes like a tomato pastey mess. What gives? Get your cooks consistent. Same goes for other locations. I know people in other parts of the metroplex that HATE Masala Wok because the food is terrible at their locations. To the owner… Do you not visit your locations and make sure everything is up to par on a regular basis? I would think making sure you have good, consistent food every time would be crucial to making a profit and continuing to grow as a business. Really makes me scratch my head when places like this miss out on a lot of business due to problems that have such an easy fix. Update: this time, lunch time fail too. Ctm just wasn’t cooked right and chicken was some weird mystery meat… the kind that looks like perfectly edged rectangles and squares. Fix your food, dude.

Love the chicken curry here! I came here with my boyfriend last Friday. We ordered chicken curry and biryani. Biryani was a little bit dry but curry was really good. I tried some other Indian restaurants but this one definitely has the best taste. Will come back again!

Not the least bit impressed. Not one other person was in the restaurant when we arrived at 6:35pm. That should have been the clue to turn and walk out. The girl who took our order was not the least bit helpful even after we let her know it was our 1st time, but instead drummed her fingers on the counter as if she were annoyed. The chicken in my order was painfully and obviously precooked and horribly dry and tuff. And was it the best time to sweep the entire restaurant? Perhaps sweeping between dinner and lunch would have been more appropriate instead of waiting until dinner to obviously sweep for the first time of the day., and it was obvious because of the amount of trash being swept up. I won’t go back, and absolutely will not recommend this particular location at least.

This is one of the closest Indian restaurants around UT Dallas. I have visited this restaurant many times and I must say the food has always been delicious and the restaurant has never disappointed me. I have tried many entrées over here and my favorites are Chicken Mughlai, Chicken Spinach Masala and Southern Curry. The chicken can be substituted with vegetables or shrimp. The entrée comes with Rice and Roti and you can substitute the Roti with Naan. You can get the Garlic Naan by paying a dollar more. They have pretty decent Biryani too, but I’m not a fan of it. I always get one among my favorites. For about $ 9 – 12 you will walk out with filled stomach. They also serve certain Chinese food items as well, but I have never tried any of them.

The food is really good. Enough options for veggie and meat lovers… Specially a good place to use utdallas discount if u are a student at UTD. Even the kids menu is well designed for people who eat less…

Dependable … decent … and a lot of food. what more could you ask for near a college? Went here for lunch with a coworker and couldn’t believe the portion sizes they served. I guess everything REALLYISBIGGER here in TX. Food wasn’t overly flavorful but they really do a good job with the authentic fresh cut chilis in vinegar. 3 stars just for that. Besides the above, the experience just felt like more of a fancy(not too big) asian chain restaurant. Might come back if there weren’t other options.

Masala Wok isn’t the best indian food out there but I think it’s the best bargain for sure! As a college student craving some indian food I really loved coming here a lot. It is very Americanized Indian food but meh it works since they give you really decent portions for the price. I was really addicted to 3 items on the menu the noodle rice mix, the tika masala chicken, and the tika wrap! I would highly recommend any of these to get a quick fix. Look out for their coupons for $ 5 entrees.

Food tasted good but there were some tough pieces of beef. For a $ 10 plate that I paid extra for steak and fried rice I was a little disappointed by the amount given.
