I went to Unilocal to find a Chinese place close to my hotel. This place got pretty good reviews and I see why. I live in Houston and I will for sure eat here again next time I am in town.

I really want to give this place 4 stars. Place is clean, vegetables are always great, cooked perfectly, same with the chicken. I like they way they serve the food in the wok/bowl. But it’s just a little too bland. I know they are Americanizing the food but it’s gone too far, just too bland. They have minced ginger you can throw on your food but frankly, I want mine cooked in. Same goes for other things you’d like to see prominent in some dishes. I frequently get the Moo Goo Gai Pan. Everything is great except it is bland. I add ginger but there’s other stuff missing in the sauce. If they would«unAmericanize» it a bit and put some stronger flavors in there, I might even go to 5 stars. For now, I drop in here about once a month. Would be once a week if more flavor.

Had the Mongolian beef and fried rice. Fried rice was dry and basically ruined my dinner. The beef and sauce were great though…

I was once a regular customer here until I was treated EXTREMLYRUDE by the young Asian girl(who usually takes orders) and her dad(the owner). One night I had a craving for Royal Chopstix, so I called them 25 mins before they closed. I asked if they were still taking orders via phone, they told me it was too late, but that I could come in person and order anytime before 10pm. Mind you I ASKED her«so if I get there at 9:55pm, you’ll still take my order?» She replied«yes.» I told her I was on my way. I get there and the blinds are shut, the door is locked and 3 Asians are inside at the register. I knocked on the door(at 9:50pm) and they gave me the hand motion t h at they were closed. I proceeded to tell them that I just literally called and the lady said I could order anytime before 10pm. Then a young Asian lady began lip talking(with no words coming out of her mouth) just moving her lips and making funny looking faces at the same time, and the owner walked to the back. Then it got even weirder… they called the COPS on me, and started looking out the blinds trying to get my tag number and vehicle description. Granted they were closing and someone knocked on their door while in the process, BUT theyve seen me plenty of times and technically they weren’t closed bc it wasn’t 10pm yet. And they acted as if they’d never seen me before and as if I Was NEVER a regular who came in once a week for 5 months. Its not like I was a bum or threating looking At all; I’m an attractive young lady THATTHEYHADDEFINITELYSEENBEFORE, and I called ahead of time, alerted them that I was on my way, fought through traffic(bc there was a wreck on the freeway) only to get there and tell me that they were closed at 9:50 and not 10pm(Like their sign says, and like online says). I chose them over MoonWok which was way closer and has better service. Had I know I would’ve been treated like that I would’ve definitely went to Moon wok(5 mins away). Unfortunately Moon wok was closed by the time I Made It There. So I really missed out Im so disappointed in this business that I will never return, no matter how good the food is.

The food here always tastes fresh. The meat is always cooked well and I love adding a side of sauteed veggies(small upcharge, I think $ 1). The hubby and I eat here about once a week. Love this place.

It was pretty good, but pretty similar to every other Chinese place ever. I didn’t really like the steak egg roll but sesame chicken was pretty good.

In terms of interior, not your typical Chinese fast food place — clean, spacious, airy and did I mention clean? Menu is on a big board, easy to read, not a lot of choices though. I ordered the hot and sour soup, chicken with black bean sauce and steamed vegetables/tofu. The soup is my gut check for any Chinese restaurant and it was barely OK. Hot and sour soup typically has vegetables, tofu and sometimes pork or chicken. No meat here, barely a strand or two of vegetables and maybe I scooped up some tofu but definitely not noticeable. Mostly soup which overall was OK. The main draw was the chicken with black bean sauce as very few restaurants serve that, even«authentic» Chinese restaurants. Well, it definitely was black but not even close to having the punch that black bean sauce possesses. The sauce was pooled at the bottom of the tray — typical American Chinese style — not really sauce but instead soup. The chicken and vegetables was pretty good. The tofu and steamed vegetables was bland as you would expect from just steaming which I thought would be a good combination with the«spicy» black bean sauce. The vegetables were crisp and the tofu slightly pan fried. I did take out but the place has lots of seating and did I mention how clean it is? Just be forewarned that it seems as though these are all rice plates — the entrée and the rice is placed in one container. Fortunately the rice is separated from the entrée plus scooped very neatly unlike other places which just throws the rice into the foam container. I know it all goes down the same way but a little effort for presentation is appreciated. The food was closer to 2 stars but the seating and cleanliness bumps it up a star.

This place deserves no stars. I purchased a combination fried rice and when I got home ready to eat this food was burnt smelling and even worst tasted burnt. I called them I couldnt go all the way back there I was told i needed to bring it back, but what floored me the most the young girl told me thats how they cook their food and havent had no complaints. The cook knows he burnt the darn rice. It was was my first time going there too. Not again!

Came here last minute and it turned out great. I got the moo moo noodles which is considered a kids meal and it was adult portions! Their lo mein and beef broccoli was delicious and the prices are very reasonable. However, the fried rice is lacking. It was just regular rice seasoned with soy sauce. Other than that, it was a nice place!

I’m undecided if this is «Meh. I’ve experienced better» and«A-OK» but, really… for Americanized Chinese food that’s really REALLY Americanized… it’s not all that bad. Just not my kind of Chinese food. And there’s plenty of authentic Chinese places not too far from here. Place was clean. Service was friendly. Food was fresh. Prices was cheap. Plenty of parking, and relatively late hours for the area. What more that can be said? But I still most likely won’t be coming back.

I was in the mood for some chow mein, so I thought why not check this place out. I will agree with everyone that this place is clean and tidy. The cashiers are also super nice and helpful in customizing any order. I went with chicken chow mein with orange sauce, along with an egg roll. The meal proportions are HUGE. I made it maybe ¾ through my meal before calling quits. I can tell that they make it fresh and not sitting under a lamp. I couldn’t help to think that the flavors really didn’t pop. Everything about it flavor wise was mild and underwhelming. All the textures and temperatures were pleasant, but it really wouldn’t have mattered what meat or sauce I ordered since I couldn’t really taste it. The egg roll was a soft and chewy, even though I wish it were crisper. The one thing that did surprise was it wasnt super saltly. I didnt feel like I needed to consume a gallon of water afterwards. Im not sure what everyone sees in this restaurant, but I will say its a safe, sanitary, and friendly Chinese restaurant.

I have been in search of new places to eat, while working in Dallas… tried 3 different Chinese places in last two weeks. .This by far the best! I ordered Orange Chicken, it was great. Crispy, flavorful, and a little spicy. I also order a vegetable eggroll, and one beef eggroll. Both were delicious. It’s normally hard to please me with an eggroll, but neither disappointed. I ordered the cheese wonton(basically crab ragoon), it was very tasty. The restaurant was nice, clean, and neat. The front counter girl Marissa was very nice, and answered all my questions. When my food was ready, she brought it to me seat, didn’t yell out my name.(It was a to go order). I will go back to this place.

I eat here about once every couple weeks for the past year or so. I have never had a bad meal. The place is very clean. Also, the guy that runs the cash register is always really nice.

Very typical fast Chinese food. My boyfriend ordered a spicy chicken and fried rice entrée without vegetables. We received an order of Orange Chicken with loads of onions. I ordered the Pad Thai which had little to no flavor. Not impressed.

For fast casual Chinese this place is great. Have been like 4 or 5 times for lunch. I recommend the Singapore Chicken if you like broccoli. They serve meals in small woks. That’s fun. Veg are always fresh. Little bit more expensive than some places but for area I think it’s reasonable and very good food.
