The food wasn’t really memorable, I’ve had better for the fraction of the cost. This restaurant is mostly for the show and not so much for the food. The service was very confusing overall and my order was just half right.

This review is based purely on customer service since I didn’t even get to have dinner here. On 01÷22÷16 I went here with my family around 4:15PM and the greater told us it would be a 5 – 10 min wait. So we sat down. Between 4:15 — 4:30PM the greater and the restaurant manager kept pacing back and forth from the waiting area to the kitchen. During this time they sat 2 families. Finally 4:30PM came and the greater told us they didn’t have any available servers and the next server was not going to be in until 5:00PM and told us if we wanted to wait. Keep in mind the restaurant was very empty. I guess the only server that was in could only assist the people that were already seated. This was a horrible customer service experience and this was the second time I had ever been to this restaurant. So we left and went to another place in the area that was able to sit us down immediately and we were able to order, eat, and leave that place by 5:15PM. In time time to make it to a 5:45PM movie,

WOW! My husband and I had the most delicious dinner tonight! We had the most wonderful chef Jose, he was so funny and happy. The food was fresh and cooked exactly the way we wanted it. PLUS, I have a very serious food allergy to Fish and they took care of me completely. I thought the hostess and the waitress were exceptionally sweet. This is one, of a small list, of restaurants that we will be coming back.

Ok the food was delicious. Loved the chef, it was little John Wayne. He was a bit scary to our youngest but his performance was really fun. The problems started at the very end. Apparently 9:15 pm on Christmas break week is way past the closing time. We had 10 of us at our table and the waitress got snotty about a single soda refill. Everyone noticed and it instantly sent a bad feeling around the table. Cost them some tip but it needs to be fixed. Those chefs are very talented and the waitresses shouldn’t be ruining the night. We’ll probably go back but just for special occasions. The hundred plus dollar check was a surprise as well. For two adults and three kids it seemed a bit steep. And to top it off we didn’t get offered our desserts. Had so much potential but lost it in the details.

Typical Japanese Steakhouse. Always a fun time for the family when we are craving something different while we are out and about. Friendly and a fun show! Easy to find and parking. Definitely would go back if we are in the area and in the mood!

Why do they ask you to make a reservation when they force you to wait for everyone that is waiting in line to get seated first? There are three hostesses working that keep telling everyone that they are next. We have been told three times that we will be seated as soon as they can buss the table. WORSTMANNERSEVER. Red Lobster it is!

Food wasn’t great, tasted good at the time but myself and my husband were both ill only an hour or so after departing. We met some friends but made it clear we were separate checks and parties. They did seat us together but, of course, we were seated with another group too as it is family style dining. They took it upon themselves to apply a 6+ party automatic gratuity which truly shouldn’t have applied since we truly weren’t party of 6 since the same service approach applied to our entire table and there were about 10 of us total and half were strangers??? Bearded Manager seemed grumpy and was pretty rude. No one seemed interested in assuring it was a positive dining experience and it was remarkably cold in the restaurant(30 degrees outside should justify turning on the heater.)

It was our first time coming to the Richland location since the Kennewick one closed, and I gotta say it has honestly the worst service we have ever had! There was 6 of us and it took them an hour to sit us and then another 1.5 hours before they started cooking our food. The whole restaurant was a MESS!!! The floor under our chairs was gross! We had to wipe down our chairs before we sat down. The A/C must’ve been broken because there were fans all over the restaurant, which didn’t help any. The tables and menus were sticky. Our meal came with dessert that we ended up not getting at all. The worst part that after horrible service and a horrible experience they took their own gratitude! No questions asked. Not only is it pricey to go, but you would think that if you’re paying so much for your meal, they would put an effort into their service and cleaning the place up a little. I doubt we’ll ever be back.

The best food I I think I have ever had in my life, I don’t even think I can eat steak from many other places now compared to what was given to me here. Even the leftovers from the fridge is better than anything I could hope to make. Chefs were awesome, casual, and skilled. Servers kept up on all of or beverages during the 2 hours we were there. Overall one of the best experiences I have had dining out.

I always have fun here. Good service, Jammin’ salad dressing. I like to share my food with a friend as the portions are huge. We have had a few Martini Monday meetups here and they were a great success.

This place is nasty. The meat was overcooked every thing was saturated in salt. That’s all i could taste was salt. The soup is nothing more than boiling water and salt. After eating here i got sick. Will not return

We reserved this restaurant for my son’s graduation party this evening. To be right up front, if it wasn’t for that we would have left immediately. The two hostesses were useless, and we couldn’t even get our large party of over a dozen people to get seated and have drinks. We were forced to sit and wait while they decided where we were going to sit Nicole, our server, was Awesome. She explained that she works around 50 hours a week, so she’s almost always there. She was superb, and help all of us out a lot making the ordeal a bit more bearable. Continuing on a positive note, our bartender was also helpful [Kendra). Our only complaint with regards to the bar, which we were not allowed to have a second drink for happy hour prices. While this may seem a bit rate, we already spoken to the manager with regards to the temperature. There a conditioning system was broke, and we understand problems happened. It would have been extremely helpful to have possibly some fans for the dining area bought, or at least have a discount on something whether it’s happy hour prices for drinks, or possibly 10 percent or somesuch off the menu. We sat in 91 degrees for an hour and a half for our dinner. As anyone who has eaten at one of these style restaurants is probably aware, it is hot anyway because of the open grilled atmosphere and the cooking going on right in front of you. I should reiterate, we spoke to the manager when we first came in, complaining about both the hostesses, and the heat. I would expect at least some consideration, or compensation made for a 91 degrees area seating environment. Well Nicole’s service was excellent, and she made the best of a very undesirable situation, and even though the food was exemplary. And the chef was amazing, overall for close to a hundred dollar bill we will never recommend this place. We live across the parking lot, so we were hoping that it would be at least a bit more palatable, no pun intended. I also reiterate, we understand that accidents happen, and situations arise. That being said, I believe it serval $ 20 fans from Walmart which is also across the street, would have gone a long ways toward making both the chefs, the servers, the wait staff, and of course the patrons a lot more comfortable. Happy hour for the drinks would have even made us happy. None of that being done, I’m getting this the lowest I can a 1 star.

Decent food. Definitely not impressive for the price. The happy hour appetizers are well worth a look, particularly the calamari.

This was such a fun experience. We tried one of their specials which was a meal for 2 – it had everything and was great – it even includes dessert. Our chef was a little quiet, but still very nice. The chef next to us was very outgoing and gave us a little entertainment as well. You certainly get a lot for your money – but expect it to add up. We had a gift card and that helped a lot. I would definitely come back for a special occasion.

Place seems to lack organization lots of time between ordering something and then getting it. Coconut shrimp had no taste, in a tempura batter? Basic food was good. The timing between items left us with cold entrée while waiting for the rest. I would think twice. Very hard to talk over the noise!

This place has excellent food and a fun atmosphere… BUT it really does irritate me that BOTH times we came here we made a reservation. Both times they accepted our reservation, and yet we still had to wait for over 20 minutes AFTER our reservation time to seat us. On both occasions it was just a reservation for 2. If you don’t have space for us at the time we reserved you shouldn’t accept a reservation. That is just horrible business practice, and next time we decide fujiyaymas I WILL be telling the front people that if they don’t seat us within 10 min of our reservation time I will be leaving. I am correcting my rating, used to be 3 stars for the food and show. But their service made it worst. After waiting for over half an hour for a seat I asked the manager why we hadn’t been seated within even half an hour of the reservation time. All he told me was that they just had to wait for tables to be open. The issue is that a table was seated about 8min after I showed up. I told him this and he said that we just needed to be patient and a table would open for us. I instead told him we had already been patient for 30minutes and they shouldn’t make reservations they can’t fill. Once again the manager insulted me by telling me that I need to just sit down and wait because other people take longer than expected to eat and there hasn’t been any tables open for me to sit at. I walked out, went to sterling’s across the street and was instantly seated.

Ugh. Salt overload the past two times we’ve come. As in, our meal was so salty it was inedible. In addition, the past two times we have come I have woken up the next day feeling nauseous. And it has nothing to do with the volume of food(my stomach is all too familiar with large volumes of food on a regular basis!). I think we’re just realizing that the quality of ingredients used here are not quite where they should be. Which is too bad because the chef’s show is almost always great, and we love steak, lobster, shrimp… all the meat groups here essentially. But it is not worth the salt bloat and the nausea immediately following. I hope they turn it around.

We arrived ten minutes before our reservation time. The hostess informed us it would be a little bit of a wait and that she would come get us in the adjacent lounge area. 30 mins later we went to check and they said we’d be seated next. So we dejectedly walk back to our drinks at the bar… another 20 minutes go by and we are hungry and contemplating heading over to Sterlings instead but we check in at the hostess stand just in case they were ready. She scolds us, «We were calling and calling your name!!! » BSBS. BY this time it’s an hour past our reservation time. If she had not lied this would be 4 stars, but our bar seats were right in the door and in view of the podium and at no time did she«call and call» us. I know the Kennewick location closed recently, so I wonder if this one is short-staffed because it’s not long for this world.

Wow so was this an interesting experience. My husband and I were in town to celebrate my sister’s 18th birthday with her and my mother, and my sister Amy selected Fujiyama Steakhouse. Honestly, it’s a great location in Richland. If you’re looking for convenience and accessibility, Queensgate is probably where you want to be because like most of middle class America, it is «right by the Walmart» and can be easily located. We pulled up on Saturday night with reservations and entered to find a very uninspired greeter, when we eventually found her because she was nowhere to be found and we were just hanging out in the lobby for a couple minutes with another group of people that were awkwardly standing there waiting to be seated The greeter person than went to check the schedule, called out a reservation for four, in which both my sister claimed responsibility(our reservation) and a woman in the other group requested to be seated because they were waiting in the lobby before us. So that was awkward when she just ignored the other group and seated us without telling them they’d be seated soon. We are seated in a loud room with lots of chef-ing going on and put in the corner with a group of four other people. The seating area per chef seats ten, but we had groups of four and four(eight!) so the server said we could have two more joining us if it happened to be the case(which it did not). The other group was a double date who each had baby sisters for the night. The blonde was the loquacious one(she and I ordered the same thing, Jackie’s, pretty good!) The blonde grilled our server on questions and I was fascinated(as a Unilocaler). Blonde woman to server: where do the chefs learn? Server: honestly, none of them are trained in house. Blonde woman to server: oh, where do they come from then? Server: Benihana’s! They all have experience at Benihana’s! Blonde woman to server: oh, so the companies have a connection? Server: Nope. It was an amusing and very Tri-Cities encounter, which did not surprise me one bit. Anyways, the server was great and friendly. It was a pretty intense atmosphere so my husband and I were dedicated to beer as quickly as possible. We each ordered draft Japanese beers(both of them) and subsequently ordered Mac and Jack’s after that because go Seattle-ish(locavore!) My husband loved his meal. He ordered whichever one came with lobster, filet mignon, and scallops. He was in heaven when our Japanese chef Jose was flipping pieces of meat into his mouth and it becoming quite the interactive experience. Speaking of Jose, the blonde woman at the other party was inquisitive about him and his experience. Turns out it was Benihana’s! Haha, we had a great laugh at the irony. Oh Jose, he was crazy with his dance moves and his loud banging and his occasional yipping. I was a tad inebriated at this point because it just seemed like the appropriate thing to do at Fujiyama. I recommend drinking a lot at Fujiyama. It really enhances the experience when Jose is flinging chicken at your face and you’re having a conversation and then you’re nonplussed about the chicken hitting your forehead. Yeah. I’d recommend this place to people looking to take family for an interactive or fun meal. It’s worth experiencing when you consider the fact Richland might not otherwise have a Japanese steakhouse in any capacity. After all, we were celebrating my little sister’s 18th birthday so our server CAMEOUTWITHCHAMPAGNECAKEANDBANGOS A BANGING. It was wild as she was serenaded by the entire restaurant for a bongo banging. Happy 18, Amy. I would return to Fujiyama. The music they had playing outside was weird though, I recall. Weird.

I found my evening with other guests around a common table extremely fulfilling. Restaurants rarely capture my interest as much as this experience did. I had Calamari, Shrimp, New York steak, and the accompanying vegetables. Reasonably priced, deliciously fresh, and dramatically prepared. Thanks!
