IHOP

Personally I’m more a fan of small mom and pop diners, but the one nearby was closed up for business (bitter tears), so I hopped on over here. (get it?)
I’ve been here about a dozen times over the years and it is always good food and friendly service. Today was no exception.
It was the end of the weekend rush so I got a seat quickly.
I got my coffee, looked over the menu and picked one of the specialty seasonal breakfast offerings. The waitress came over and spoke highly of the one I wasn’t going to pick and mentioned the other was kind of meh. I went with her suggestion.
The menu said the combo I picked came with 4 slices bacon, but when it came out I only got 2. I politely told the waitress, she apologized and brought out 3 slices. Bravo.
The eggs were done to order perfectly, I had ketchup and 2 different kinds of hot sauce to choose from for the hash browns and my coffee carafe was kept full.
Every time I eat here I leave happy and well fed.
Again, I’m not a fan of chain restaurants, but this place does it right.

It pains me to even leave a 1 star for this place. Went in on Sat night/​Sunday morning around midnight. It was at about ½ capacity. There were 4 people total working. The cook was also bussing tables. the 2 waiters were also serving as cashiers and the manager was helping to cook. The orders were not correct but we ate them anyway because we waited for 45 minutes. They brought me brown avocado slices that were so old I could slam them into the table and they Bounced — literally! I showed the manager and she said oh sorry but that’s all the avocado we have?
The waitress was obviously overworked trying hard. The manager on the other hand. horrible! We had to ask someone for our ticket and then waited for another 10 mins for the manager to come up front to cash us out.

I am so mad I have to give this place a star, I have been to other Ihops around Richmond but this one has got to be the worst one in all the county. Ok walk in seated in a timely manner no problem, but then the foolery started. Waited over 25min for the food not exaggerating is was not full in there, she brings out my food with other peoples food, she says to my lady oh I’m sorry I will be right back with your food, she sit my food in front of me with no civil ware and my gal had to watch me eat, that’s if I had civil ware, finally she come back around with the civil ware my food is cold now and my gal food is still being cooked. I ask this lady 3 times to bring my gal some tea, it was like this woman was off in space somewhere. she deserved to be fired or retrained, my gal food finally comes out, egg yoke all over the plate, my gal calmly said I asked for scrambled, the waitress said let me fix that for you she come back nearly 10min later with under cooked raw scrambled eggs, me and my lady had enough by then the manager did remove half the order from our bill, My food was terrible the waitress and the cook should be fired and the manager for letting this foolishness go on so long, they’re giving Ihops everywhere a bad name. Come to find out, our waitress is training to be a manager at this location, if she becomes a manager someone is going to die, I can promise you that.

This is the first and last at this Ihop. This place give all Ihop a bad name when we came in there was no one to greet us then when someone finally showed up she walked of without saying follow me or anything. Then we ordered drinks my cup came to the table with lipstick on it the kids hot chocolate was running down the side of the cup. Then the orders came out and the waitress jacked the orders way up she had extra orders on the check then finally my food came out and it was missing food then management came out to smooth it over but a soon as she left the foolery continued the waitress brought me out broke up sausage really do I look like a dog to you

I am giving two stars because the food was cold. When we walked in no one was there to seat us. The couple in front starting yelling out «anyone working». I had eggs,
Bacon, hash browns and pancakes. Pancakes were good but both my wifes and my eggs and hash browns were cold. The server was very nice and i want to give three stars for her part but cold food and the entrance deserves only 2. Not a big IHOP fan so this did not help change my perception from previous visits to this chain from Norfok to waldorph and many stops in Richmond.

We are sitting here waiting… and waiting… and waiting… for breakfast. They must be shorthanded, because this is taking forever.

This is based on my takeout experience today –which was not good at all. I love IHOP pretty much and in all my years even back to when the signs said International House of Pancakes and I was disappointed not at the service but the basic characteristic of the food! I love their Seedish Crepes and was excited to stop and pick up my order which I’ve come to recently make this a fairly regular part of my daily routine.
When I got to work and opened the container you could tell the crepes were more incompletely mixed and half cooked, mushy, sadness.
I called to let them know what happened and asked for them to be replaced.
I went up their later and picked up my crepez and was in the process of making this review a 1-​star review until the manager brought my food and offered his card with a note/​IOU of sorts for a free entrée amd drink! I was very happy considering they had just broken my heart. I elevated the rating to 4 stars since it wasn’t right the first time and the manager did though offer a synopsis of what happened –which made me feel good that he went to find out what happened.

Underwhelming… Our server was bad… And the food was meh… Man has this place gone down, I remember when IHOP was the place for breakfast. Not so much anymore.
I ordered eggs, turkey bacon and fruit. It was okay. No rush to go back.

A good quick breakfast. Our server was very friendly, and our food was hot and good. Our server pointed out the specials and showed us how to save a little, and get what we want.

What a waste of an hour. The waitress screwed up our order twice. And when I say screwed up, I mean the complete wrong item from the menu.
When the food finally came, it was atrocious. Sunny side up eggs RAW (translucent snotty sludge around a slimy yolk with the membrane still hugged around it) on top, a sandwich with less than a teaspoon of the «sauce» it was supposed to have on it (Turkey berry melt sandwich) and withered dried up MICROWAVED turkey «meat.» Served with a smile and I quote, «It’s not your fault, baby.»
Don’t go here even if you love IHOP.

Love IHOP but 2 hours is too long to wait. We had a party of 10 and that finished us off. Will not be back.

Unabashedly, I am a IHOP-​A-​Holic. At times, I wish I could mash up IHOP and Cracker Barrel; the best of those worlds, or more correctly, concepts, would be perfect.
Sit in the waiting room busy at early lunch time today. Wait was not too long before we were taken to a table and seated.
Our server Carolyn was attentive and friendly.
I ordered my normal: Country fried steak (gravy on the side) dinner (if I am feeling my oats, I order the CFS Breakfast meal) that came with a side salad, steamed broccoli, hone style potatoes, toast, and a piece of CFS, that covered up everything else on the plate. It was on top of the rest of the items, like a shingled roof.
Everything was hot and cooked to order. The XYL had some sort of banana, strawberry waffle concoction, that was to the edge of her plate.
Bathroom was clean and orderly. We were given a Veterans discount (although our server said that she thought they were going to stop that).
All in all, another successful stop on my World Wide IHOP tour.
We’re going to be back in this area in the near future. ALready making plans for a second stop.

2^nd time at this IHOP, since I try not to review until my 2^nd visit for consistency. Needless to say, my coffee cup wasn’t clean-​it had lipstick on it. My bacon was hard (not crispy) like crackling/​fat back-​hurt my tooth on it.
Why I gave them a 3 instead of a 1 or 2 was the waitress. Her customer service was outstanding. She promptly replaced my coffee cup, and sent my bacon back and replaced it with sausage. The manager came out to apologize, however, it really wasn’t needed for this visit. Maybe the first visit since I waited 23 mins to be seated and the staff was just starting at me like a deer in headlights. Customer service isn’t consistent with the staff nor the food. But Daneshia made my last visit balance out the bad issues across the board. I really need her to come and work for me (lol).

My first time at this IHOP and my first time in the area since it has gentrified. Good experience here and will stop by again when we come back up this way.
