A chain steakhouse similar to OutBack Steakhouse. This location is in a large shopping plaza with plenty of parking. I’ve only had the steaks here but they have burgers, ribs, fish and chips and salads and soups. The steaks are pretty good. There’s a bar to the left as you enter with high top seating and TV’s. The other dining area is off to the right with booths and tables. Service here was excellent.

The Service was above average. The Rib eye steak I ordered was on the tough side. I have had better and worse. It was cooked medium rare as I requested.

I was staying next door at the Hyatt the night before the Cycling World Championships in Richmond. I didn’t feel like getting in the car so I looked for something within walking distance. Nothing nearby really had a great review, including the Longhorn. But I took the reviews for Longhorn with a grain of salt and decided that I’d go here.(note this was edited to reflect better grammar after seeing the errors after typing on a phone.) Let me start with the service, they said it would be a 10 minute wait… it was 9 minutes. Good. The hostess thru the waiter were all very nice and friendly. The food. it was alright, but hey this is a run of the mill steakhouse chain, it’s not fine dining. The salad was average, the mac and cheese was pretty decadent and probably not recommended if your being healthy. I ordered the filet medium rare, it tasted fine, although pretty heavy on the salt. I was a thin filet, not exactly my ideal, and it was cooked more of medium to medium well by true culinary standards. But again this is a run of the mill steakhouse chain, my expectations were not high. But at the end of the day it tasted fine, want something special? Go to a real steakhouse, and this is not a dig at Longhorn, just a reality. So you’re reading this thinking… I’m staying at the Hyatt and I’m hungry and I don’t feel like driving anywhere, what should I do? Go to the Longhorn, relax and have a glass of wine and some food. They will feed you and be friendly and nice. And on a very historical side note. when I got up to put my jacket on and ready to leave I looked over the booth wall and saw quite a surprise on the other side. I see a large group and a familiar person wearing a Slovakian polo shirt with a big mop of hair. Well if you’re not a cyclist you’re wondering what I’m talking about… If you are cycling fan you know exactly who this is. It was none other than Peter Sagan, pro cyclist extraordinaire. He was eating at Longhorn the night before the World Championship Road Race that would take place in Richmond the next morning. He was one of the 5 star favorites to win the 155 mile race. Got me what he was doing here at 9:30 pm, but whatever they fed him worked. He convincingly won the World Championship’s the following day!

I’ve never before been this disappointed in a LongHorn. I went online and placed an order to pick up a steak. Selected my steak and temperature(ALWAYS Medium Rare) and completed my order. When I got there, I told the hostess that I was picking up and order and was instructed to go to the bar, where I waited 5 mins(and they weren’t busy… just in the back chatting . After finally getting my order(which took another 5 minutes to get… even though I had chosen online. I did a poke test on my steak, and check the rest, and it seemed fine… but the steak was in fact over cooked. The steak I have here is at best medium… when I had asked for Medium Rare…what am I supposed to do now? Take the 15 minute drive back to their location? No thanks… I’ll just not go.

I travel for work weekly to the area as does the team I dine with almost nightly. I have been to this location many many times as my checks will show. I probably won’t return. The food is just not good compared to other Longhorn locations. It’s just like the kitchen is either less well trained than other locations, hurried/understaffed or just don’t care.

We ate here for the first time while traveling through Virginia and the service was great. However two out of our three dinner meals were atrocious. A medium rare steak special(the Rosemary Parmesan) came tough as beef jerky and the 8oz filet mignon tasted like a slab of liver. A few moments later our waiter came by to check on us and took the two bad plates back to the kitchen. When she brought the new ones they were as good as we had hoped! Tender steak and a flavorful filet! Worthy of coming back for. The restaurant also gifted us the«chocolate stampede» dessert. It was much too big for three already steak filled people but we did our best and took the rest to go. Looking forward to having that for breakfast tomorrow. Overall it was a comfortable environment and the staff went above and beyond to give us an enjoyable meal.

Decent food but I’m so disappointed in the service. I sat down at 9pm and I just received my entrée at 9:50pm. The server was very friendly. That, combined with the food is why I’m giving two stars. Unfortunately I ordered the salmon off the seasonal menu, and found out about twenty minutes later that they didn’t have what was required to make the dish. There is another salmon dish offered so I said that was fine. I was surprised to find if they offer a seasonal menu they weren’t prepared to actually make those dishes. I understand things happen but to wait 20+ minutes to find that out is a bit long. Waiting almost an hour from sit down to receiving an entrée is unacceptable in my opinion. It would be one thing if I was told things were running slow in the kitchen but it actually took me flagging down the server to get a drink refill or much attention. As someone with a 4:45am wake up call this was quite the disappointment.

The food was better than expected for a chain. I had one of the chicken salads and it was enormous and fresh and delicious. The bread they served before the meal was also great. Would eat there again.

Just leaving this longhorn, and hated my entire experience. Waited an hour to be seated just to recognize many of the tables are dirty and not cleaned off. We sat down for 2 hours and the tables beside us were not cleaned off the entire time we were here. And there is still a long line of customers waiting in front. The food was ok, but I won’t come back to this one again. Our waitress was ok, but seemed cut too thin with a slight apologetic attitude. Clearly she didn’t want to be there. Next week i will just go to my regular Longhorn, off Hull street. In conclusion this restaurant is not well managed and has no organization. The quality of food and service ive gotten accustomed to is not present at this restaurant.

We walked in and waited 25mns for a table once seated we noticed and felt the menus hadn’t been wiped off and as I looked around I noticed more unsightly things. After waiting 13mns, for anyone to acknowledge that we had been seated, we left. I let the hostess know why and shy tried to save face by offering a lame excuse for the bad service or lack there of but usually if the service is bad so is the food. We left and will never return. This was my first time in Richmond and my first time at Longhorn.

While on business travel with a few coworkers to Richmond, Va we met a client for lunch at the Laburnum Ave Longhorn. Heavy snow had shut most people in and it was obvious this Longhorn was short staffed however, with several hotels nearby their lunch crowd was very large. To our good fortune we sat in the bar area and had a really good meal and incredible service from Brittany who greeted guests, cleared tables, and attended to diners with incredible poise. Thank you Brittany and Longhorn.

Ordered coffee, spoon was dirty, loud, just because I like my steak well does not mean I want it blackened. Not good something floating around in my water cup. Will not be returning

Wait time was less than expected… the server was polite, service was too rushed once appetizer came, the salad came few minutes later, then entrée, then check and date over… it was no time to savor anything but food was great!

The hostess was quick and the waitress very nice. I liked her combination of friendly and helpful. Our steaks were good and cooked as ordered, but a little salty. The down side was the cold potatoes and a lackluster salad. All white lettuce and croutons with way too much odd tasting dressing.

We came into town for race weekend and stopped by here for lunch. The place was really clean, waitress was friendly, food was Fantastic! Couldn’t get enough of the steak, grilled chicken and mashed. Prices are reasonable, less than 40 bucks for the two of us. It’s a little dark but that goes with the ambience of the restaurant. Will definitely come here again next year!

This was my dad’s pick for Father’s Day dinner. The staff was very friendly and helpful, giving a great dining experience. The food tasted good, but it was salty. That was my only real complaint.

I was too tired to look for a mom and pop place today so I settle for a steak at the Longhorn Steakhouse! I have to admit — I was seated quickly, served by Casey, who turned out to be a waitress on top of things! She took my drink order and then helped me select what turned out to be a PERFECTLY(medium raw) cooked bacon wrapped bourbon steak, with a salad and sweet potato goodness! As I said — steak was cooked to perfection — although it would have been better if it were a bit more tender. The sweet potato was more like a desert — I’m sure it was very good for me. The salad was crisp and fresh. The bread seemed homemade and very good, but the accompanied butter was hard as a rock and difficult to spread on that warm bread — luckily the bread didn’t really need butter! Yes — the entire place was clean — restrooms actually smelled clean and not like they were covering something up with a fruity or flowery smell. I hate that. The music was playing — a little too loud, but nothing compared to the three men sitting in the next booth. The décor was typical of a Longhorn — plenty of parking — accepts credit cards and overall — pretty darn good … BTW — it was one of the best meals I’ve had for under $ 20.00 with tip!
