Dry, thin, tasteless meat. The burger was fresh, but the meat is a frozen patty, tasted unseasoned. This place caters to teenagers and large families that don’t really care about the quality of food. Also had the onion rings and yes, I know they’re deep fried, but the oil was literally leaking(gross). If you really want a juicy burger, you can’t beat Norms. They actually use ground chuck and hand form their own patties!!!

This is one of those places that whenever I walk by, I tell myself«I should really try that place.» Except whenever I say this I’ve just stuffed my face, since it’s in a plaza packed with options. Yesterday I finally remembered! Firstly, the décor is adorable, with a little bartop you can sit at and a 50’s vibe. I got the Riverside burger wrapped in lettuce after a surreptitious Unilocal check. It was ready really quickly, and was so filling without being super greasy. I had kind of an issue with Zorba’s pastrami hamburger because the grease overpowered the pastrami flavor, so I would def say Johnny’s is better. Like others have mentioned, it’s also ridiculously cheap. Coming back as soon as I remember again!

It’s pretty much tasty diner food. $ 5.89 for the Cheeseburger Special which came with plenty of fries. Their Fuze raspberry tea is delicious, as well. It’s nicely air conditioned with 80s music playing. The only gripe was a substitution for other French fry like items(i.e. Onion rings, fried zucchini, sweet potato fries) was $ 1.99 additional… a little steep for me.

Johnny’s Burgers meets all expectations! A more than decent burger for a reasonable price. I had the Pacific Island Burger, which had a nice teriyaki glaze and a slice of grilled pineapple. The bun was soft without being greasy and the meat party reminded me of a cross between Bakers and In-and-Out. My wife had the Corona burger, which was also really good. The fries were great, too. Overall, it wasn’t a mind-blowing gourmet burger joint, but definitely a place to hit up when Salted Pig or Umami Burger doesn’t fit into the budget. We’ll definitely be returning.

This place is run by owners that not only cheat their employees but verbally abuse them too, and then act morally high minded, food greasy and substandard. I would only eat here if it was last place on earth.

I loved Johnny’s. Me and my hubby went in one evening for the first time and it was great. I got the bacon cheeseburger and he got the double cheeseburger. Both burgers were great ! And the fries were amazing. I came back a couple days later and ordered a cheeseburger with pastrami. That burger was not so great, I had waaaay better pastrami at many different places but I order zucchini on the side and those were amazing ! I recommend this place its pretty dope !

I was disappointed with my sandwich, the Vermont Grilled Cheese– cheese, apples & bacon on baguette. In my naiveté I thought the apples & bacon would come in bite sized pieces in the sandwich, instead it had large apple slices with skin on & whole bacon in strips– gross– ! The bread was hard and had been put on a panini grill. 3 stars because my husband really enjoyed his SPA sandwich, Sweet Potato & Avocado. I would give them another try, with a different sandwich selection.

Been here a few times, great delicious food. The interior decoration are nice and fun to read signs. The only gripe I had about this place is the cleanliness. I went in and it was empty but every table was dirty with crumbs, dried ketchup or mustard. I had to clean off the table. Makes me wonder how clean it is in the kitchen? The soda machine spout was messed up and sprays everywhere. I may return

I went there tonight at approximately 6:50 pm and I don’t understand why people don’t know what customer service is. I went in and I ordered. I asked about the fry sized and I jokingly said can they be generous on the fries(because alot of these burger joints like to be stingy as if their have REAL fresh fries like In n Out) So anyway she doesn’t take to kindly to my joke which I understand not everyone has a sense of humor in this stuck up world and she just looks at me blank. She then hands me a cup that was surprisingly big by the way(I wasn’t complaining) and I asked her why it was so big. She then replied with an attitude, «they’re just like that». I begin to scan the place with my OCD nursing eyes and look at the fountain and I’m like eh, Id rather have a bottled drink. So I go to her and say«May I get a snapple instead of a fountain drink please?» . She is obviously annoyed(I don’t know why) and goes to the back, comes back and is like we can’t do that. Before I move on with this review. What do you mean you can’t do that??? I’m asking for a bottled drink. Meaning that I intend on giving you MORE money I’m sure you can do that. Just let me pay the difference and lets move on with our lives chica. She then debates me and is like no, and I look at her and say I don’t understand I know that a fountain drink is cheaper can I just pay the difference. .. ? I’M TRYINGTOGIVEYOURCOMPANYMOREEEMONEYHELLOOOO I’M NOTTRYINGTOBESOMEBASICBARGAININGRATCHETCHEATINGYOUGUYSOUTOFYOURMONEYWHAT’S THEPROBLEM ??? She brings out some red calculator and calculates that I’ll have to pay 66 more cents for a bottled non germ infested drink. What made me mad though is that after she went to the back the two Latino men began to CONSTANTLYSTAREATMYFRIENDAND I WHILEWEWEREINTHERE. ANDWHEN I WASHAVINGMYDIALOUGEWITHHERABOUTTHEDRINK I CAUGHTTHEMINMYPERIPHERALSTARING. I just don’t understand what was so wrong about me wanting a bottled drink. I was already digging into my purse to bring out the extra change I wasn’t being difficult. I received unnecessary stares, horrible customer service and to top it all off my double cheese burger was dry. I know I sound like I need to be diagnosed with paranoid disorder but I swear if the tapes were ran one can visibly see the necks of the chef and his side kick almost damn near breaking staring at my friend and I… My assumption is that the girl said something in a negative light about me and made it seem as if I was being soooo difficult, so then they proceeded to stare. It was some really awkward negative energy in there and I will never give them my money again. Ugh.

Looked for a burger place to go to with the co-workers on a rainy Saturday, working on the weekend. We Unilocaled and found this place. Loved it! The food was great, we all ended up with burgers. The co-workers loved the specialty burgers and I had a double bacon. The flavor was great! I also got a shake, yum! We all could not stop eating the fries. You know when you are full, and still don’t want to let those last fries go to waste; because they taste that good… Yea, we finished them off. Taking home half of one of the burgers from a co-worker, can’t wait to finish that later! The price was great too, you can’t beat burgers and fries; especially in the setting at the R’side Plaza!

7 months pregnant and this place gave me food poisoning!!! My friend and I shared fried zucchini and we both got food poisoning. She ate a burger as well and others in our group had different burgers so it definitely was the zucchini because I wasn’t that hungry so I didn’t have anything else. Employees must not be washing their hands good enough. I should have known better because this place looked dirty inside to begin with. The floors are horrible and counter tops aren’t cleaned well enough. So gross! Will never go here again.

Wowzers!!! I ordered the Johnny Riverside burger and it was phenomenal! Hold not your seats cuz it’s packed with peppers! But it is oh so yummy!!! Hubs ordered the turkey burger and I was lucky enough to get a bite of it! That is the MOST flavorful turkey burger I have ever had! We will be frequenting this place for sure!

I have to admit, this place has really good burgers. If you walked around the riverside plaza you might have missed it. This place doesn’t have a large sign over the door like other places. The burgers here are very savory and served hot off the grill. The price is very reasonable. I’ve only had burgers here but they also have hot sandwiches and salads here. I forgot what burger I got but it had pastrami and peppers on it, it was juicy and had a small kick to it. What I didn’t like about this place was the cook just had finished making fries and he put a little too much fries in the bag and he threw the excess fries in the trash… Dafuq… What a waste.

This burger place is one of my favorites. My group of friends and I have a tradition to come here every time we get together! 1 Stars for Service/Location– The service here is always decent. Not bad but not super amazing to where I would engage them in any extended conversation. Your food is always prepared in a decent amount of time as well, and everything tastes fresh. The place is clean but it’s very small. It’s expected when you’re in a location like this I guess. Me and my friends always have a bit of trouble trying to seat ourselves(around 6 of us). 2 Stars for Food– At first I used to be safe and order the trusty Bacon Cheeseburger like I would anywhere else, but my friends convinced me to get the Riverside Burger! That’s what makes this place stand out, I think for my whole group. It’s a unique burger topped with pastrami, yellow chilis, jalapenos with this awesome spread. It’s delicious! The fries are always decent as well. My only complaint is the size of the location but that’s not too big of a deal. Check this place out though!

My favorite little ‘50s burger joint in Riverside! The burgers and sandwiches are delicious. The service is quick, the facility is very clean, and the staff is courteous. Their prices are great: their wonderful freshly broiled burgers cost about the same as some of the«fancy» crap burgers you get at Carl’s Jr or JITB. For the nostalgic, they’ve recently put in new TVs that play 1950s shows and commercials. And the restaurant is filled with amusing posters and signs, enough to keep you plenty entertained while you wait for your food. Definitely a must-try if you want a tasty burger in the Central Plaza.

This Johnny’s Burger place is yummm-tastic. It has a diner retro kind of feel to it. You can opt to sit and eat on the counters, inside tables or outside tables. There can be a wait if it’s crowed because there’s only 2 – 3 cooks. I ordered the Mozzarella, Tomatoes, Basil and Pesto Sandwich. The mozzarella melted perfectly inside the sandwich. My only complaint will have to be the bread being too crunchy. Maybe if they hadn’t toasted it that long. My friend had the Club Sandwich w/fries which he enjoyed. Especially because the mayonnaise was slathered on just right– not too much but just enough. For both sandwiches the total came out to be $ 10.81 =).

I work at Forever 21 in this plaza. And every time I get a lunch, this is the ONLY place I go to get lunch. I go there so much they know who it is when I call in my order. HAHAH. The service is pretty good. There are days when they get swamped with people, but overall they are pretty quick. There burgers are delicious here. Also try the pastrami sandwich and steak sandwich. The fries and fried zucchini are fabulous as well. I also like the chili cheese fries here. Idk what they do to make it that good, but I love it. Best thing of all, it is SUUUPPPERRRR cheap.
