This place has very bad service. Every time we come here, it takes very long to get our food, even though there’s hardly anyone in the restaurant. Tonight, after waiting at least 15 minutes (no clue why it took so long, the restaurant was almost empty), the girl finally called our order and we were short one quesadilla. We clearly ordered two quesadillas and the girl even repeated our order back to us – but she must’ve typed it in wrong. She had to have known her mistake but instead of offering to get us our quesadilla she just stared at us with a blank look and said «sorry», like it was our fault. Terrible customer service, this was the last straw and I’m never coming to this location again.

I love coming here for lunch!
The food here always tastes fresh and delicious. I usually come here on my lunch break.
I normally get a bean burrito or tacos. My favorite is the street tacos with steak! It’s very yummy. The meat is well seasoned and cooked. It comes with fresh avocados! And a side of fresh beans and crispy chips. My favorite.
Customer service here is very good! Everyone is nice and the staff tries their best to get the line going and serve everyone. And they always give you that reassurance on ordering what you really wanted. There’s been many times the cashier guy caught me ordering a bean burrito with no cheese when I wanted cheese. LOL whoops. Thank you!
I love the salsa bar. I normally mix the diablo sauce with one of the red sauces for that extra kick and the green sauce tastes very fresh!
I like how they have indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect for spring and summer when it gets too hectic to sit inside. Restaurant is kept very clean and well!

First, Rubios is my favorite restaurant. I love it. I usually go to the Poway one. I stopped in here today because it was closer and I was starving. Holy cow, the whole restaurant stank like a sewer. You know that nasty stink of a public restroom that never gets cleaned? That’s what the whole place smelled like. It was so bad I had to leave before I could order. I left and came to Poway.

Good food. Very consistent with any other Rubio’s. I’m always satisfied, never left hungry. The self service salsa and condiments bar is ace. Always stocked and clean. The staff here is very friendly and efficient. It’s not «fast food» so if you go during the lunch rush, you will have to wait a little while, but it’s not bad at all. I don’t usually order them, but noticed that the beer and dessert selection is really good.

Disgusting. We ordered the nachos and it didn’t come with the guacamole and sour cream. It was not fresh at all. I asked the lady for the sides and rudely added it to my plate. An hour later my friends and I had the worst symptoms of food poising. Never coming back again.

I like the menu. It has a variety of choices that I like. The service is quick and it is conveniently located by a Vons and CVS store so I can shop as well as eat.

I’ve had better Mexican and «fresh mex» on the East coast. This wasn’t just bad, it was terrible. The fish taco was flavorless and rice was very dry. The salsa wasn’t even very good. I would not come back even if they sent me a free meal coupon. Service was the only thing redeeming about this place, they were very nice.

Went here tonight where they were having a soft grand reopening. Got free food through a facebook offer. I have never been to a better «free food» event. All the employees were wonderful, lines were light, seating was easy, food was quick and delicious. Kudos to the staff for a well run event as these can quickly turn into madness. All of our food was fresh, hot, and tasted great. Thank you!

Gourmet Shrimp Tacos. Boom. They were beyond delicious! Made fresh… with slices of yummy avocado, chile sauces, chunks of crispy bacon (yes, bacon) and wonderfully sautéed gourmet shrimp. So good. I will def be back for more. This may become my Taco Tuesday tradition!

I had a one dollar off coupon for the salsa verde shrimp tacos plate for the Scripps Marketplace area. Substituted for rice instead of beans, tacos were good because of the taco bread and ingredients were not processed.

This family owned chain offers delicious, fresh, Mexican food. Their original fish tacos are amongst the best in San Diego which is saying a lot. The Chipotle Orange salad with your choice of chicken, tilapia, or shrimp is a wonderful choice especially for the calorie conscious.

I like the food here at Rubios. Especially their fish taco meals these are pretty good. The burrito especial steak is another one of my favorite dishes. Usually they are pretty quick at the service there. The parking can be a challenge on the weekend in the evening. But if you like fish tacos or great burritos then this is the place, much better than Taco Bell or Del Taco in my opinion. But of course the prices are more expensive than Taco Bell so theres that. I really like the nachos they have here as well.

Ugh! Not Again. Out of town for 6 months. Came back to Scripps Ranch and heard langoustines are back. My Burrito was mostly BEAN, and my wife’s surf and turf taco dish was also lacking in BOTH SURF and TURF!
Salsa’s are the bomb… but!

Rubios is… well… decent. The tacos are delicious. And $ 2.75 for a beer on a sunday afternoon? You can’t go wrong with that. But lets be honest: it ain’t quite worth five stars. Ten bucks for three tacos is a little much, considering no sides come with it. I will definitely be back to this location… but definitely only for Taco Tuesday.
Additionally, the store was very clean and the girl who was working was very nice.
