Average at best, especially considering the prices– ex. $ 8 for a regular burrito. The salsa bar also needs considerable work. Considering all the great fast Mex options around the same 2 mi radius you’re better off going to Taco Bell, chipotle or rubios right down the street. Far better quality and cheaper.

Great corner taqueria. Ruby is a delight, and the tamales are our favorite. My daughter won’t go anywhere else! My son swears by the carne asada tacos.

Okay burritos and but tamales are good. The masa was the right consistency and the meat was well seasoned.

My favorite local taqueria… Kids and me and the wife love the food. Fajitas are pretty awesome though the cheese quesadilla is also tops for the price. Service is great as always and it’s never super busy so no hassles.

Dissatisfied customer, being Latina I can eat almost all kinds of dishes. I took 2 bites of 1 of the two tacos I ordered and couldn’t eat more. The meat, rice, beans were days old and just reheated. My mom used to do this lol. Salsa is tomato sauce. Definitely not a place Latin people would find to be a go to place.

I know that typically Tuesday is Taco Tuesday, but today it ended up being Tamale Tuesday. Today was our first day to try Ruby’s. As it is Christmas time, we were looking for some traditional tamales. I’m really excited to say I found a new favorite. We ordered a steak taco regular, steak taco supreme, 3 tamales and a jaritos for $ 16. And then we ordered a couple dozen tamales to take home. Yes! They were that good. We will definitely be back to this charming and yummy restaurant

I’m a regular here and the food is so good! The ladies who work here are the nicest ladies you meet. Definitely try the Cora burrito or the meatball soup. Pretty yummy :)

This place is pretty close to my house which is a plus. I had a few tacos which were pretty good but not the best I’ve had. Tacos on Friday were $ 1.25 excluding a few meat choices. Tamales were nothing special, kind of dry, I’ve had much better. I had a carnitas wet burrito as well which was really good. I wish they also had better salsa, but its decent for what it is overall.

I have never eaten here at their resturant on Cox. I always buy their chicken tamales at the farmers market by Kaiser hospital in San Jose. I have paid over $ 45 for lunch at some high end restaurants and was more satisfied eating one of her $ 3.00 chick tamales at home.

I got this because it looked so freaking awesome I am a sucker for a runny egg on top of foods. But unfortunately this dish completely lacked flavor I was so bummed I had to add salt and hot sauce to finish. I got a green chile chicken tamale that came with beans and an egg on top. Restaurant was clean, cashier was overwhelmed and over worked. I think I just got maybe a not so great dish or something I will def come again to try something else out though.

Best Mex and most friendly service in town. Great with kids, food is consistent, served hot, and always yummy. Prices are great as well. Try anything in the menu.

Great food. Mexican is my go to comfort food. Carnitas is my passion. Had the tacos and chili Verde burrito. Both were excellent. My go to for Mexican close to home!

I’ve tried this place a couple times at the farmers market. I think the best is the soy rizo burrito which is a great vegetarian option. Unfortunately, most of the time they don’t have any or run out. I visited today and of course, they didn’t have any. So I ordered the chile relleno and it was just as bad as their customer service, horrible. The burrito is very watery and the beans were not refried. Also, their menu stated the vegetarian burrito comes with eggs. My friend ordered that and she told her no eggs come with it(when the menu we stood next to clearly said it did) and didn’t care to explain or offer any other alternatives. Long story short, it is convenient being at the farmers market, BUT if there is no more soy rizo, I’ll PASS.

Went here for lunch with my mom and we ordered the pork tamale and chicken enchilada plate. Rice and beans were hot and fresh. The tamale masa was dry and the pork was dry. the sauce inside the tamale was flavorful. The dryness of the tamale is because it was pre-made and reheated, so it was not fresh made that day. The enchilada was packed with shredded chicken. Again the meat was dry and could have used some sauce, herbs or onions to flavor it. The enchilada sauce is combination of mostly tomatoes and I could taste some chili sauce. Most traditional enchilada sauces use no tomatoes. It was ok and warm(not hot) but not what I was expecting. We got our chips late so we didn’t to taste some of the salsas besides the pico de gallo sauce, which was good. If I was in the area again, I stop by and try the chili verde, the photo at the counter of the off menu items looked good.
