After waiting at the door to be seated for over 10 minutes with no one in front of us and lots of open tables, it seemed fashionable again to wait as no one, literally no one served us. Luckily we knew what we wanted and didn’t need a menu. Me and my girlfriend love the Poseidon roll here, and that’s where Ta Ca will be finding their one star tonight. After going to the bar twice and trying to order over the course of 20 minutes(no exaggeration on numbers here) we finally decided to call it in. We actually called in our order since the waiters seemed to think we didn’t exist. Their to-go service for inside the restaurant was good. But not a single person came to the table. I am looking at one in the eyes right now. Nothing. This is a place I want to like a lot, but the customer service is probably the worst in Savannah.

I come here for the drinks specials. Absolutely amazing mojitos. We always sit at the bar and the service is great. I have had a few appetizers which were all pretty good. I visit here every time I come to town and will be back!

A wonderful place to eat lunch or dinner. I had the deluxe sashimi today. Fresh and tasty with a wonderful plating to include apples, cucumbers, lemons, and seaweed in addition to the normal wasabi and ginger. The side salad was large and the round beef soup was peppery and tasty with a wonderful broth.

So glad we found this hidden gem and so glad it’s closer to us and on the quieter side of town. Hibachi chicken and salad was great, and the service was excellent. Will try sushi on the next visit.

Pretty solid sushi but nothing amazing. We really enjoyed the Ta Ca salad. Worth eating here but being from the coast of FL it not too high on the list of places to come back to. Nice atmosphere. Service was good, food was pretty quick

Everytime I go here the food just gets better and better. The Rocket Roll is a must try and also the Philly roll is such a nice smokey flavor and reminds me of a winter night of smelling bonfire in the wind. Their spicy shrimp sauce is so hypotonic that when you wake up the next day when after brushing your teeth the night before stays in your mouth. My roommate who hates sushi goes here for the simple fact that their hibachi dishes win him over and he’s not even a fan of the cuisine and loves it here. I only have one question. How do these sushi chefs get to work on time? Because if that was my man and he rolled up sushi that good, he wouldn’t be able to leave the house! Well done guys we will be back as many times as one can afford. And trust me Each bite of foodgasmness is worth every penny. The service is also very custom to whatever your heart desires to boast.

Great food. I had the hibachi salmon, and my boyfriend had the hibachi chicken. Both were delicious. We were stuffed, but we couldn’t stop eating. It was that good. The service was great. We were seated quickly, and our waitress was very attentive. I’ll definitely be going here again.

I have been to Ta Ca several times; small lunches, large group dinners, and just drinks at the bar. They have an excellent lunch special in which you can get 2 sushi rolls, salad, and soup for about 10 bucks. For a large group dinner, we had excellent service. Our server was very attentive and the manager/owner came by several times to check on us and even gave us complimentary saki! It was a great time! My only complaint — I have been there several times where the servers/bartenders are arguing with one another right in front of me. It was very uncomfortable!

I was super nervous about eating here after reading the reviews but we dropped in last minute at the choice of some local friends and it would have been rude to ask to leave. I was pleasantly surprised by the visit and below are my ratings: –Service: 5 stars. Man who greeted us and our waitress were extremely friendly. The food also came out relatively quickly although it was pretty late and not many people were there. –Food: 3.5 stars. We shared 3 rolls, 2 were very good(Hollywood and High Five: one was wrapped in cucumber). The 3rd was the Ta Ca and was pretty fishy, I ate the scallops out of the middle and left the rest. –Price: seemed a bit overpriced overall. I would eat here again if they had a discount happy hour.

Really? You call that a sushi restaurant? This place is a high-wannabe. I have had much better quality rolls and nigiri from supermarket than this place. Sashimi was not the right cut from the fish. Please proof me wrong.

I would give this place 5 stars but we waited over 30 minutes for service. First off, order the Poseidon roll — it’s not on the menu — you will not be disappointed. It was fantastic. Beer was cold(Sapporo). I will definitely be back.

Hella good ginger dressing. Order off the menu for sushi. The guys know how to do things they don’t even have room for on the menu. The cocktails deliver in flavor and alcohol content. I had hibachi and my dining partner had sushi. Both were above and beyond what we expected for the price.

TACA is one of my go-to spots in Savannah. It has great sushi, hibachi, Phở, and drinks. I have been going here for years now and I have to say, the food is still AMAZING and they are wonderful with accommodating people with food allergies. BUT the service has gone down hill, fast. There are a couple waiters that mean business and get things rolling, but in general now the service is poor and slow. BUT I just tend to do take out and cut out that service part all together.
One a separate note, we have had a couple large parties hosted at TACA and they have been great. SAKE for all and it was an fun time. I would never say«avoid» them because there food is worth it. BUT if you are in a hurry, be careful.

The sushi is a bit overpriced in my opinion but it is very good. I love the phở here as well.

Let me just start by my boyfriend finding a cockroach in our fried rice. And then, the owner had the decency to make us pay for our sushi and drinks. Disgusting. Food was awful but the way the owner handled things was notorious. My boyfriend and I have both worked in the service industry and never have either of us either seen service such is this. DONOTEATHERE!

The food was similar to buying Store bought sushi. Good, not great. Service was slow but I could tell our server was trying, she just had too many tables. Very nice though! Everything just took a few minutes longer than it should have. Then there was the dining room fight. Someone that worked there threw a legitimate tantrum and went to the front waiting area and sat mumbling things about, «I can’t believe this s***, who doesn’t fry a crunch roll.» He was being a jerk and then he approached our server at another table and said, «What is this s***?» At a sat table. Of four people. Who all just stared awkwardly because who does that? Place has potential. Just needs a little refining!

I went there for the first time this past Friday night. It was fairly late for dinner(close to 9 pm) but there was still a steady crowd in the restaurant or at the bar. Great, trendy ambiance. I ordered the house salad with ginger dressing and it was delicious! Pretty standard for what you get at other Japanese restaurants but definitely worth it. Only complaint is I asked for dressing on the side and it was brought out already poured on. For dinner, I got the TJ roll with eel and avocado. It was very good and the meal as a whole was definitely worth the value. The people I came with equally enjoyed their meals/drinks. Highly recommend if craving sushi!

This is one of the better sushi places in the Savannah area. I typically get the Sashimi Dinner which comes with a variety of fish, and they will do substitutions because octopus is one of the included fish. It comes with a salad and soup for $ 19.95. The salad wasn’t great, it tasted watered down this time and the soup was also«bleh». It wasn’t a miso soup, but was a beef broth soup with green onions and mushrooms in it(but the mushrooms were raw). My friends got a variety of rolls, hibachi and tempura for dinner. The presentation for everything is very nice, and my friends all enjoyed their food. However, the sauce that comes with the tempura is not the type I am used to and was very gingery(similar to a ginger salad dressing). While I still have a favorite sushi place elsewhere, this is my 2nd favorite sushi choice & an easy meal option when I go downtown because of their private parking lot.

Rating: 4 Good drinks, good sushi, good service. The 5 dollar drinks were poppin!!! Sushi was good. I got the TJ roll and I liked it ;) Service was awesome! I sat at the bar. The people were so nice and inviting. Vietnamese rolls(not fried) were just ok because the noodles were over cooked. Good flavor bad noodle. Salad was decent but I felt like the lettuce may have been wet due to preparation which can make salad a bit soggy. Ginger dressing was on point though!

I’ve been to this place several times over the years, as it’s one of my friends’ favorite places to go for sushi in Savannah(and they go a lot more frequently). I still remember going not long after they opened and was quite pleased with the food and service. Not saying they’ve gone completely downhill but after the most recent visit this past weekend I will say I no longer consider this one of the better places to eat. Drink selection(beer and mixed drinks) is still good. Service is still friendly, for the most part, but quite a few other things are lacking such as: 1) service, took, forever. I’m talking mostly about the check payment part, as we easily sat there for 30 min waiting for everything to be squared away, and we were only a party of 8 and they weren’t slammed. 2) food is still ok, but the teriyaki dishes were very meh. Steak and scallops were cold, rice was kinda tough/slightly undercooked, the premain course salad was a very bland iceberg lettuce mix. I tasted a friends roll with cooked tuna and it was incredibly fishy tasting, to the point where I would not have finished it had I ordered the roll. 3) health dept score is now down to 78, not sure how long it’s been there or why, but it’s certainly cause for concern, especially at a sushi joint. One of the reasons I went with a cooked entrée this time as well.
