I should kick myself for being so stupid to have gone to this place after all the horrid reviews! How could this place still be open? Sushi was terrible and overpriced, worst in town, if not the worst I have ever had! A local

I’ve had better sushi from the grocery store. Nice staff, but not worth going back. We also got the shrimp and broccoli dish. Nothing impressive at all.

This place is a cesspool. The floors, tables and walls are filthy. The service is mediocre. We were the only people in the place for lunch the other day and it took five minutes to get drinks. The waitress only brought one set of silverware and there were three of us. My biggest complaint besides the filth is that when you order to go food they won’t give you the salad that comes with your meal. If you’re downtown go to arung Jung. Waaaaay better sushi.

I would not go to this restaurant again. Small sushi rolls, poor service, orders were wrong and the bill was incorrect. Not a pleasant experience.

Heiwas on abercorn is 100 times better. Food is greasy and overpriced here. Service is good but that’s about it.

The cooked rolls were good, but the raw were luke warm and a couple sashimi pieces were bad cuts whether brown or actual skin of the tuna showing. I wouldn’t suggest eating here compared to all the great restaurants a short distance away.

The sushi was pretty good. The«teriyaki chicken» was not that. It was grilled chicken with some teriyaki sauce on top. I’m not a cook, but I could have done a better job. The restaurant was clean and the staff were attentive. They made sure my green tea never went empty.

Specialty Heiwa’s rolls. Delicious. The staff is really nice. The place is neat, relaxing, peaceful, very pleasant. Great sushi place. This review is for the Heiwa’s in downtown Savannah.

DO not go here! The food taste horrible and the server can barely speak english. We had the combo, steaks and shrimp. Japanese food was one of our favorite cuisine and we have been to a lot and compared each one of them. This one was close to worst! This was near our hotel(Inn at Ellis square) and we decided to get a quick bite for lunch. Made a mistake of coming here!

No soup to go. Seriously? I’ve never heard of that before. But alas, here, no soup have I. Employees were not rude, but not welcoming either. Basically they seemed to care less. Seriously… I’m kinda pissed that I can pay $ 20 for dinner and not get my soup because I’m leaving. And it seemed like it was a «duh» idea– like I should have known these obvious rules of soup. But the food came fast. A little tooooo fast. Fried rice was awful. Scallops are cooked to the perfect texture… but without any flavor… other than tasting like they are previously frozen. The shrimp was acceptable at best. Can’t even give it two stars. :-/

Total crap. The rice was hard and the sushi fell apart as soon as it was picked up. The chicken was dry and had no flavor. Also the waitress was no where to be found most of the time, she only checked on us twice the whole hour we were there. Every time we needed something my husband had to get up and find a random waiter to ask for it. Like refills on our water! This is the worst japanese restaurant I have ever been to.

We choose to eat here because after spending a week in Savannah we were seafood out. Very disappointed and will not be returning. The service was alright and if you complained about something they would just try to laugh and play it off as a joke. My girlfriend got sushi and the shrimp rolls she said were horrible. The salad that she ordered was also very bad she said. I got the teriyaki chicken with vegetables and was disappointed as well. Very little amount of chicken and mostly just friend onions with the dish. The rice was also a little dry. We didn’t end up eating the whole dinner and went to Leopold’s for ice cream.

horrible. If I could rate this«restaurant» zero stars, I most certainly would. I am posting this review as a delay, since I’m assuming my original post was deleted — we were in Savannah on vacation for New Years. Our group started by ordering a bottle of saki, which our server took to a different table situated behind us and attempted to serve it to a 10 year old girl(the father was appalled, and ended up walking out after their food never showed up). My stir fry came out first, while the 5 other people at my table who ordered sushi, waited for 20 minutes. Two sushi rolls were wrong, one never arrived, we had to walk up to the hostess to ask for our salads after our server went missing and never came to check on us. We never got drink refills. All 6 of us work in the hospitality industry, and were appalled at this experience. Do yourself a favor, and DON’T waste your time here.

Gave this place a second try and it will certainly be our last visit. Terrible service, sad food– the rice wasn’t even good. My salad was a wet bowl of lettuce, which arrived after the entrees– as did our appetizer. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

A japanese restaurant ?? The rice was too dry, the chicken also, the scallops and shrimps were frozen(not fresh seafood). It’s not a place to eat true japanese food. We did not get any smile or «hello» of the owner. The dishes are expensive for what they are. And when we left I can tell you that the smell on your clothes and hair was HORRIBLE… First and last time for us.

Hands down the best sushi in Savannah, but you have to go to the downtown location! I dont know why they all differ, but the one downtown is AMAZING! I could eat 500 heiwa rolls! Love the specialty house roll. The staff there are also always so friendly! I you’re picky about sushi, GOTOTHISPLACE because it is so fresh and amazing! Also, never so crowded that you have to wait.

The service was good, but the food is not. Need fresh fish and better refrigeration. My ahi was brown. Nothing feels chilled.

The service was not good, and the dragon roll was probably the weirdest thing I have effort eaten and not in a good way. I should have read the reviews before I ate here.

The worst sushi I have ever eaten. Sushi to-go was terrible. Rice didn’t even hold up in the sushi bite… everything fell apart. The tune didn’t taste very fresh, and the fried pieces of fish in another roll tasted very fishy. I was very disappointed. 3 small rolls for $ 19 is a rip off, especially with the lack of quality in the food.
