It’s closed right now! We were SO excited to go here. Showed up and it’s CLOSEDFORTHESUMMER!!! Do not go until after Labor Day. Off to another breakfast joint. Disappointed, Blue Door.

This place is absolutely adorable! I wish I stumbled upon it sooner. Their waffles aren’t too sweet, and their coffee is delicious! I asked them to make my waffle extra crispy for my sandwich, and I believe that’s definitely the way to go. The outdoor area is precious. Definitely a hidden, local gem.

Conveniently located next to a SCAD building, reasonably priced, quick service, and DELICIOUS waffle sandwiches! Also if you are into video games, you are in luck because this place has multiple gaming systems so you can play while you wait for your food!

Super cool super funky. Right next to Savannah College of Art and Design, it offers a warm welcome by a Star Wars Stormtrooper and Madden Football Arcade Game. Excellent iced coffee. And the waffle breakfast sandwich is to die for.

Delicious chocolate waffles! Everything is made in house. The staff was very patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. When we got there the door was accidentally locked, so we just knocked and they let us in

Quaint café with great service and delicious treats. Into The Night cold brew coffee is delicious and you get to be creative with the yummy waffles.

Skip this! I ordered a Nutella waffle and it came with Hershey looking sauce… turns out they water down Nutella so it pours over the waffle. Really? They gave me a true Nutella waffle and were very nice about it but really, water?

Great little place to get my waffle fix! I’ve been here a handful of times throughout their remodel process, the staff and owner have been very nice, polite and make good recommendations; I usually go with the Riveria and a latte. The décor is nice and seems like a student friendly place, especially considering its proximity to the SCAD building. It would be great if they expanded their waffle sandwhich offerings.

Oh man am I in trouble. I just moved in across the street of blue door and foresee an alarming amount of vanilla, spiced lattes and Nutella, strawberry waffles in my future. I want to also emphasize how fresh everything is, the strawberries aren’t the typical mushy, sad blobs found on so many other waffles. These babies have actually been connected to a plant recently.

Atmosphere was very cool with comic book wallpaper and industrial style décor I must say this was a very awesome spot. Waffles were perfect! The service was very nice, talkative and very hospitable! Coffee was good. We will stop back!

Blue Door coffee definitely had a great cup of coffee, but that is not the reason I went. I went specifically to try the waffles and I was definitely disappointed. I ordered the Belgian Waffle to see what the foundation of all other waffle orders was, and while I enjoyed the smaller sized waffles which made them easy to eat, they were definitely lacking flavor wise though the texture was really spot on. The taste was not unpleasant but definitely a little boring, like what you would get at a hotel continental breakfast. They come with syrup but the syrup is not real Maple syrup, it’s the corn syrupy stuff and that was really disappointing to me. Also, though they are served as fours in nice finger-food sizes, the presentation was really just plain and didn’t make the waffles look very appealing to begin with. So anyways, overall, like I said, the coffee was great(counter culture) but the Belgian waffle was very disappointing. Granted, I did not have any add-ons but a great waffle begins with a great batter. It’s a shame because otherwise, this would be a great place. It’s decorated really minimalistic and clean with a nice theme of comic books and super heroes. If I go again, which maybe I will, I’d be interested to try the sweet potato waffle to see if it’s a little more exciting.

I just moved to the Savannah area and stumbled across the blue door. Its a cool chill place. They guy who works there actually seems like he wants to be there. Their coffee is AMAZING! And the Waffles! Crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside! My spot this summer!

The guy working was super cool, the place is small but is cool because they have a walk up window if you don’t want to go inside. Good for grabbing a quick coffee or such. Next time I go I may try their waffles since it’s the only food in there but this time I just got a vanilla latte. It was okay nothing mind blowing but still decent.

My experience with The Blue Door was very poor. 1. No indoor seating: Firstly, the outside is quite deceiving. As you approach the building you would expect it’d have seating inside; however, when I went in I was caught off guard by how small the inside was with no where to sit. 2. No outdoor/online menu: Considering there was no menu outside or online we had to go inside to see what they had. With such a small area to order when you walk in you may automatically feel obligated to buy something if you otherwise didn’t want to walk out and be rude. 3. $$ Pricey: The waffles I ordered were just 4 small waffles and cost over $ 5 which seemed very steep because they were tiny and looked as though the batter simply came from a machine similar to one’s you would find at a hotel breakfast. 4. Low-Quality Taste(Waffles & Tea): The Green Tea either wasn’t steeped long enough or was just bad green tea, not to mention it was extremely hot and I wasn’t given anything to protect my hands while holding the hot cup. Additionally, the waffles tasted extremely sour in fact neither myself or my girlfriend ended up eating them. – How it could be improved: 1. Having an indoor bar area to sit would be helpful during the winter months since outdoor seating isn’t much of an option. 2. Having a menu online or outside would make decision making easier for anyone who is on the fence about going.

I have trust issues if everyone says that any(you fill in noun) is that great & wonderful I tend to be skeptical. Especially when it comes to a place that servers waffles(I have a waffle iron you see) & until I tried the waffles here I was very satisfied with my waffles. Sadly that all changed after taking one bit of these light and airy waffles, in the matter of mere seconds I felt like a complete and utter failure. That’s when it dawned on me my waffles sucked compared to these to make matters worse both my wife & daughter tried lying to me telling they weren’t. Then I said it out-loud that they were better then mine & they both wholeheartedly agreed. Don’t take my word for it I wouldn’t go by and see for yourself by promise you’ll be happy you did.

I live around the area, didn’t know what this place was about when I walked by the nth time. So a friend and I walked in the joint. A little small seeing as the building was so big, but they have a chalkboard wall with chalk pens, easy entertainment for us two. I ask the lady at the counter to make me something good, and she suggests this WAFFLESANDWICH(???)(!!!) made with RASPBERRYPRESERVESTURKEYHAMPROVOLONE. Holy Sh! t. This was amazing. Sadly, they did not have gluten free waffles. My friend has an allergy. But after taking one bite of my sandwich she decided that she would figured that out later and eat a GDWAFFLESANDWICH. Just talking about it makes me hungry. This place was great. I would most certainly go there any day or age. Yes, after eating my sandwich, I did go back for seconds.

When it comes down to it there is but one thing that you must consider before going to another coffee shop in Savannah: The Blue Door makes WAFFLESANDWICHES. Thats right. F’n Waffle Sandwiches. Seriously, you just read that correctly. It appears that the fox just got out foxed. Picture biting into a warm, soft, freshly made waffle(their secret waffle batter recipe is stored in an under ground vault with 24⁄7 armed security; its that good) expect the waffle is two waffles and in between those waffles is a creamy brie cheese with turkey and bacon piled high and slathered with a berry preserve. Let me break it down for you. Here are the flavor sensations that bite would produce: soft, chewy, warm, scrumptious, sweet, savory, bacony, tart, turkey-lishous, savor bomb explosion. Its like your mouth got a hug from a million dollar bill. ANDTHEN you wash it down with a swig of their freshly brewed small batch coffee. DAMN!!! I’m so freaking hungry right now! If you are in Savannah, forget the ghost tours, the scavenger hunt for an un-hipster SCAD student, Jim William’s house, Clary’s, Mrs. Wilkes, The Lady & Sons, or whatever it is you came for, its all for not if you don’t eat a waffle sandwich. P. S. Did you know the Girl Scouts started in Savannah!!! What! Go to the Blue Door!!!

I got a vanilla brown sugar latte and my husband got a dirty chai, and holy moly… I’m a coffee snob(no seriously, espresso so good you don’t need sugar but added it anyway) and it is amazing. I can’t wait to go back in and try waffles! It smells divine…

The charm of this little café is absolutely wonderful and is only beat by the charm of the people who work here. The chai is sensually sweet and spicy, and the vast options of waffles and toppings are great! Breakfast, lunch and desert… Waffles. Who’d have thought. Their cold brew is amazing. If gourmet is your thing, definitely check it out.

Alright Savannah Unilocalers! So this is the newest coffee joint in town and I’m proud to be the first to sample their menu. They’re not just sporting a super great cup of Counter Culture coffee or pulling creamy shots of espresso from a manual La Marzocco machine(coffee dorks prepare for goodness), this place is featuring handmade waffles with various awesome toppings! They make their waffle batter in house. They also meticuously make their own cold brew coffee too. Everything there is made in house. Just look for the blue door on Bull &34th street! Location: Right next to the main SCAD building and public library on Bull &34th street. There’s this brilliantly painted blue door. Enter goodness. They’re doing a soft opening this week, so give them time to build and get things in order. This is not a sit down place, but will soon have ample outdoor seating. I like the idea; swing by on the way to work or class and get a waffle with various delicious toppings and a great cup of coffee.
