Beautiful food, thoughtfully prepared. Great friendly and efficient service. The eggs benedict was perfect with creamy grits. The lox was fresh and tasty. They hand make the hot chocolate which was rich and creamy. Great selection of loose leaf teas too. Very busy with locals which is always a good sign.

CLOSED! :( Café 37 has now, sadly closed! This great spot is no more. I heard that they might try and re-open in a new location someday. So Sad.

We’ve been there twice for brunch. The food was always excellent, the service polite and attentive. Despite the small size, the interior is friendly and tasteful. The chef really pays attention to the details, all the ingredients are good quality. We most probably try out their dinner menu sometimes in the nearfuture.

Always a must whenever we go down to Savannah. We always try and make it to Café 37 for brunch, and we recommend it to everyone. It’s such a small place, very cozy but with such a light and airy feel with the garden next to it, and all the windows. The kitchen is upstairs, while the seating is downstairs and outside. The food here is amazing and the serving size is pretty large as well. Their french toast is amazing, also something that they should be proud of, their coffee is always good, and we’ve never had a cup that wasn’t fresh.(Big points in my book) Pricing is pretty normal for brunch place for two of us to eat, it runs around $ 30 – 40, depending on if you get desert and coffee.

Café 37 is an unpretentious oasis of elegant fare and quaint surroundings. Have been to 37th Café a handful of times. Most recently, I brought out town guests for po-boy’s. The service may be slow(a direct effect from small space = one or two servers/upstairs kitchen), but gracious and accepting of any requests made. The food never disappoints. The pork sandwich is oh my golly! good. The grits are said to be stone ground but I would describe them as course ground — yummy all the same. Over a year ago, I dined here for dinner. Still today,… I think how perfectly the grouper was prepared. Batter– light and flaky. Fish — subtle and fresh Café 37 is a Savannah favorite of mine :)

This is one if my favorite places in savannah, I come every single time I am home! The honey pesto aioli is fantastic on the chicken sandwich. And if you have never tried escargot, here is your chance! Its great. Try the sunshine tea as well.

Went here for brunch a little while back with the hubby. It was pretty good, the service was fine, and the food was pretty good but not fantastic. I feel like there menu is really limited. I had the pear salad with gorgonzola and hubby had a caesar salad. Both were pretty good but at the cost I felt like I was still hungry :(

This is a nice little bistro that makes for a very pleasing lunch. I had the caesar salad. It was pretty good. I liked that they put the anchovies on it(which is how a Caesar should be made). The better half had a pear salad. It was the specialty item of the day, and it had a good flavor to it. The service was pretty laid back and friendly. My criticism of this place is the price. Think $ 35(pre-tip) for 2 salads and 2 drinks. I’m not necessarily averse to spending that much for that meal if the food blows me away, and while it was all good food, none of it blew me away. That, for me, made me walk away from the meal feeling I was charged too much for what I got.

Just got out to this place today, based on the reviews and the fact that if you give the menu a gander their is a focus on local, all natural, organic… I went in to try this chicken sandwich… Sidebar: For fellow Unilocalers All Unilocalers out their listen up, their isn’t a rule against this… Include Prices In Your Reviews — it makes things a million times more helpful! Now back to Café 37. I got the chicken sandwich and yes it may be a little pricey by some standards, about $ 11, BUT… understand that I am frugal(Poor) — BUT I will always pay for quality… and Understand that in this economy the price of many food items(The raw ingredients) has gone up… So…I completely understand the price, it is not at all unreasonable, and this sandwich was A-mazing…so freaking good. I got it to go and intended on taking it home for lunch, but I was a bit hungry and took one bite in the parking lot, well… the sandwich didn’t make it home, I had to pull over and finish it… It was So… good, I almost went back and got another… The chicken is quality, the toppings, tomato, home made mozzarella, and this almond, honey, basil pesto… that’s it I’m going back for dinner… Yes it’s a bit more money than fast food, but you will feel a million times better about what you are putting in your body here… And…bonus you are supporting a local business, always a good thing… Go to this place and try this chicken sandwich, treat yourself. Highly recommended, and its an intimate, quaint, quiet, setting for a chill lunch.

Consistently excellent and interesting offerings, delightful staff, and a well thought out wine list. My number one go to in Savannah.

Unpretentious hidden gem tucked away down in south Abercorn. It is a bit of a walk from the main part of town, but places like this are just so worth the trek to experience. In fact, if you have a bike, consider riding it down here with your friends and just park it outside where you can dine on their picnic tables. The escargot dipped in garlic butter was so right on man. The toasted sourdough bread that came with the dish was perfect for soaking up the rest of that succelent sauce. We also tried the pulled pork sandwich in aioli sauce, whose portions were huge enough to feed two mouths. The first several bites were great, but I think the size of the sandwich wore me down. Finally, we also had a nice giant salad with caramelized seared pear and blue cheese. Very tasty with a mixture of vibrant organic items. Great service and the place has got a cool southern chicness to it. Also, stop by next door and look at some arts and crafts. Places like this is what defines a neighborhood, so go check it out.

It’s been a while since I five-starred a place. But this was the best meal I had in Savannah. It was just a simple lunch, intended as a quick stop when we arrived in town — a wedge salad and a crab po’ boy — but it was so much more than that. The salad was huge, with ample portions of perfectly salty bacon, crisp cucumbers, and juicy tomatoes. It was drizzled with a homemade bleu cheese dressing, and then topped with a generous amount of chunks of boldly flavorful gorgonzola. The proportion of each component was just right, and every last bite was full of fresh, high-quality ingredients. The sandwich was a special item, offered because soft shell crabs had just arrived in town that morning — and it was fantastic. An entire crab was fried just right, piping hot, and served on thick bread with lettuce, tomato, and remoulade. We’d spent a week in New Orleans before coming into Savannah, and this po’ boy put the Big Easy to shame. This is a sandwich I’ll remember for a long, long time. The experience was simply top-notch. We sat outside of the charming yellow carriage house, enjoyed our lunch and sweet tea, and received timely service from a friendly waitress. When she got a little busy inside, another server came out to deliver our bill. I have nothing but positive feelings about this little restaurant, and am thankful it was so close to our B&B. We ate at a few other, more famous, restaurants in town, but our first taste of Savannah remained the best. Go here.

We went to grab a nice lunch, they were on a small wait so the lady suggested that we go walk around the antique store that is right there which was perfect I love poking around places like that. They called us to tell us our table was ready, we ordered some of their champagne drinks and they we amazing and I had the wedge salad and my boyfriend got the pulled pork sandwich. Both were excellent and HUGE! the portion size their is gigantic! I will be returning!!!

We had the mixed greens salad with griled chicken and carmelized pear stuffed with bleu cheese. YUM ! Everything was cooked so perfect. We were able to eat outside with our dog. The service was great. Linen napkins and nice tableware. I want to go back as there were so many other things on the menu that I wanted to try.

Yum! To me this is a special dinner place. I have had their lunch and it is pleasant, but to me it is their dinners that really shine. They are only open three nights a week and have only a hand-full of tables, so you must make reservations. The service is always friendly and helpful while never feeling stuffy nor intrusive. The other evening four of us met there for dinner. Two had Cod, one had game hen, and I had the Tuna. The funny thing is, we all enjoyed our entrée so much that no one shared! My tuna was out of this world. It was a giant steak of sashimi grade tuna served barely cooked(Yeah!) crusted in peppercorns served on a bed of vegetables. Just absolutely delightful. And once again, a giant piece of fish for $ 32. We had two servings of the molten chocolate cake for desert which was great. The wine was excellent as well. I should not have written this review, now I’m hungry again…

I have been to Café 37 several times over the past year and each time I feel as if they are improving on food I didn’t think could get any better! The fried chicken is not your average trip to KFC. Chef Blake takes it to a whole new level by brining the organic chicken breast which makes for a fried chicken that’s out of this world! I’ve also had the chicken sandwich several times as it is my go-to sandwich in Savannah; it is NEVER a let down and I can’t get enough of the pesto aioli that it is served with. I hope I can make it out to dinner soon as I’ve heard amazing things about it! Also, make sure to get a loaf of bread while dining or to go! It’s house baked and to die for!

OVERALL: My favorite restaurant in Savannah. You HAVE to eat here. It doesn’t get any better. MYFAVES(not in one visit though): fromage(all cheeses), salade au chevre chaude + chicken, sandwich: chicken w/homemade aioli, sandwich: fish special. This restaurant is full of… that European-in-its-quality without the pretentiousness, bistro-type, warm charm; a solid, well-thought-out, flavorful and beautifully-executed menu; and, daily, fresh baked bread & gourmet coffee. Blake(Chef) also provides wonderful wines and rare aperitifs, which you should try. If you want an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere with superb food, this place is for you.

I’m surprised at the other reviews for Café 37, as it’s probably one of my favorite restaurants in town. However, I have never eaten here for lunch as the last two reviewers did. I will point out that while there may be crime in this area, I’ve never had a problem, and the restaurant sits at the back of a gated parking lot. My girlfriend and I come here almost exclusively for the Thursday night«small plates» menu, which changes weekly and features a very nice selection at extremely reasonable prices, for example: rib eye and potatoes with a brandy-cream sauce or fresh mussels with fois gras and truffle butter, all in the $ 12 – 14 range. We can come here for a wonderful, romantic dinner with wine, appetizers, a half-loaf of Chef Blake’s amazing sourdough, entrees and desserts with coffee for under $ 100, including tip. The food is always amazing, and the small staff(there are only a handful of tables) is very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and the wines. You can tell they care about the restaurant and providing quality service with a great meal. P. S. I know I just mentioned it, but I will reiterate: This place has the best bread in Savannah. I stop in here all the time just to buy a loaf of fresh-baked sourdough to take home. It never lasts through the night.

Let’s see…$ 9 – 12 for so-so soup and sandwiches(that’s $ 12 for a sandwich and another $ 12 for a crock of soup) in the heart of one of Savannah’s poorest and most dangerous ghettos. A peek at a dinner menu revealed the same soup/salad offerings along with 2 or 3 entrees in the $ 28 – 32 range. I don’t know whether the prices and lack of menu items reflect pretention on the part of the owners or a sneer towards the stupidity of the gullible, but I’ll refrain from entering this establishment in the future until either a real restaurant takes over or when they hire armed guards and off-duty police(like Elizabeth on 37th right down the street). Here’s the official SPD interactive crime map of Savannah… soooo many dots, so little time: (01÷28÷10): Just got a comment from the owner about my review. Apparently, the crime stats lie about this neighborhood, so ignore the police blotter and focus on the fact that there is a florist and bridal shop nearby. Also, ignore someone who has lived in Savannah for 12 years who is married to a native Savannahian. We apparently don’t know anything about the neighborhoods of our city, and neither does Elizabeth on 37th which hires off-duty police to protect their patrons. And remember, the soups and sandwiches are very, very special, which requires very special prices. Again, there is a florist nearby, so good luck with that…

Driving into the parking lot, I really thought I was going to like this place. One salad and an hour later I realized I did not. The lunch menu is short with only five options; two basic salads and three sandwiches. I wouldn’t count the cheese plate or escargot as lunch items. I was surprised that it took over 30 minutes for mine and my guests salads. Caesar and garden — not much to them. If you are in the mood for a leisurely, basic lunch then give it a try. Nice art on the walls for sale. I only wish I could have taken the waiter up on the wine offer because the time would have passed quicker. However, like most people I had to get back to work.
