Ok, so lets start off by saying that I am NOT a food snob or some kind of food critic for a magazine. I’m a normal guy that likes food prepared well. I’ve had the worst of the worst and the best of the best, and this is the first time we’ve visited this place since we moved here in 95. I remember when this place used to be Schlotzsky’s Deli… ahhh the memories of Schlotzsky’s Deli lol. My wife and I came in around 6 o’clock or so yesterday. We were the only customers in the entire restaurant. Let’s start off with the amount of time it took to get us our food. By the time we placed our order, and realized what time we actually got our main course, it was one hour later. With no one in the restaurant! We ordered an appetizer, and decided on the oysters Rockefeller. When they got to the table, they seemed exactly like I remembered from eating oysters Rockefeller years ago in New York. The first bite was absolutely and entirely too salty. I convinced myself and my wife to try another one thinking maybe it was a fluke, and it was not. Somebody back there was heavy handed with the salt and we could barely finish eating it. We sent it back and the waiter was seemingly trying to tell us that these are the best ever and yes… explained sometimes they do get heavy handed with salt. He did say that we werent the first to say that. I will give them credit, they took it back, prepared us a fresh batch, and they came out okay. My wife’s main entrée was supposed to be seared snapper with a red sauce of some type, & I ordered the Toni signature steak. The steak came out with some onions and peppers on top of it, and looked like one of my buddies steaks coming off of his grill from his backyard. The onions and peppers where wilted so badly that they mushed in your mouth, and had no flavor whatsoever. The upside to that was the steak was really really good. My knife sliced right through that piece of meat and the flavor of the meat by itself was the best part. My wife’s pan seared snapper was not pan seared at all. It was more like reheated and baked. The sides of mashed potatoes, broccoli and whatever else was on the plate was, I’m sorry to say it, but sub-par in every way. After we were done with the main course, we decided to share a dessert. The dessert in mind for the two of us was tiramisu. It came out within a few minutes, and the waiter set it right on our table. First bite for the two of us, we looked at each other and knew that something was a bit different than any other tiramisu we’ve ever had before. To me, it tasted like refrigerator smell. You know that taste you get when you combine things that smell in your frigerator and it permeates everything else with it? Yeah, that’s the taste I’m talking about. It was also overwhelmingly soaked in whatever coffee liqueur they decided to use. It really ended up as a bad choice as well. So in summary, and to be extremely honest, I have had better meals out of chain restaurants with hundreds of people seated in the dining area. I told my wife, I would have gotten a better meal out of Longhorns steakhouse without a doubt. She totally agreed. The waiter, I had no issue with at all. He was very attentive to our needs, and always checked up on us to make sure we were okay. He did come around more often than other places I’ve eaten at, but at least he did, and he made sure that we were doing well. He presented us with a check and before tip it was $ 98. I would expect this price point out of a high end steak restaurant like say maybe Ruth’s Chris downtown. But the type of food that was served to us was nowhere near worth the price, the wait, or the sign in front stating that they were voted the best steak in Savannah. I really was hoping for something a lot better. Maybe I got my hopes up too high, and the let down was a bit much for me. This is why I’m posting this today and not yesterday. If I would have posted yesterday, I don’t think I would have been as nice. Many of my friends asked how it was, and they know the type of food that I like and are accustomed to. This rating is my experience, and my experience only. It’s really up to them to figure out if they like it or not. But as for me and my wife, we will not be back, I’m sorry. I mean, who are we to think that being the only customer in the restaurant at the time of ordering and the sign in front stating the very best steak around, that we would have received a much better experience!

Horrible place to host company holiday luncheon. Seemed as if our patronage was s bother instead of appreciation for new customers. Owner/chef was very aggressive and Unaccommodating. Servers did the best they could — but it definitely could have been a lot better for the price. It saddens me because I was sure it was going to be a great experience from our usual places. The tea and my salmon was good! The frowns on my coworkers faces tells me that their steaks –not so much.

This was the steakhouse really close to our midtown hotel and we are big fans. Best steak I had in a while. The wines were also stellar. Décor may need some updating but you overlook that when the food was so good. Will be back for sure.

Amazing steaks and sides. Delicious margarita to start the evening. The steaks are cut from the loin when ordered and cooked to perfection! Nice atmosphere with low music that’s perfect for having conversation. Nice bar and drink selection as well.

We were In need for red meat and spotted this place near our hotel and glad we did. The Mrs ordered the Sirloin medium well as always with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes, steak was cooked perfectly! I had the Ribeye, medium rare and sauteed asparagus, once again the steak was a wonderful perfectly cooked piece of beefy juiciness! Again to bad they aren’t closer. Great Job! p. s. The bread is to die for!

I ate here yesterday with my coworkers and I cannot believe how bad the food was. We were served half a loaf of bread once and were never offered any more. We received our food an hour after we ordered. I ordered steak mashed potato and asparagus(for an extra charge). Well, my steak was tough and not cooked the way I ordered it, the mashed potatoes were dry, and they gave me 7 small overcooked asparagus. My coworkers also had similar problems with their orders. I also saw that the lighting was not on, but I’m sure it was probably broken.

Our second time eating here. The first was so unremarkable and the meat so tough that it has been over a year. Well, what a pleasant surprise! The steak salad was amazing and sooooo tender, and my husband ‘s Greek burger was so good that he’s ready to go back again. Definitely huge improvements.
