This Bill Miller is the worst one I’ve ever been to. Sad to say that is the only one we have close to our home. Chinken Strips are small and HARD! Very stiff. Fries are soggy… nothing like I’ve ever had at any other Bill Millers.

A few harsh reviews kept us from trying Bill MIller BBQ until now. We REALLY enjoyed it! The fried chicken isn’t as salty as most of the big chains. It’s fresh and crisp and really quite delicious. We also had the ribs which were amazing as is, like a dry rub, or with their BBQ sauce which is tangy without being overpowering. The sausage link was also very good as were the big chunky fries. To top it off we also got a pint of peach cobbler. For pure BBQ I’d give the edge to Harmon’s about 10 – 15 minutes away, but Bill Miller adds a great deal of variety and the benefit of multiple locations for convenience. The service was fast and friendly so all in all we’d have no reservations coming back again and again.

This location used to be decent. Now I drive out of my way to another location either on Kitty Hawk or Walzem. It sucks because this one is closest to my house but because the food and help has been sub par for a while now, I try to stay away. Thought I’d play it safe today with two salads, white meat only with a sweet tea and a coke. Cant fuck that up, right? Well, I got all dark meat, a sweet tea and an unsweet tea. Thank god Rudy’s is down the street. Please don’t bother me with a number and website to voice my concerns. I’m warning the people here on Unilocal,THAT is who needs to hear it.

I love the fried chicken and service at this location, and I really love the condiments bar, where it’s unlimited bread and real butter, pickles and onions and pico de gallo. Even though they are mainly a barbecue restaurant, I don’t like their BBQ. Today I gained further respect for them when I tried a couple of their bean and cheese breakfast tacos. They are really good, especially the homemade tortillas. They do rival many of the Mexican joints for sure, and the beans were tasty and smoky.

They’ve become highly dissatisfying. The BBQ sandwich was like eating a bun out of the bag. There was practically no meat, and the little meat it had tasted like it was in the spam family. I’ve had better frozen meals from the grocery store.

MARGINALATBEST I arrived and was greeted right away with a smile. The food is displayed in a buffet line, similar to a Piccadilly. The quality of the food was also very similar to Piccadilly. I ordered a two meet plate, ribs and brisket. With this you can choose three sides. I chose the green beans, pinto beans, and hash browns. The brisket was dry with very little flavor. The ribs were also dry with only the slightest hint of smoke. The sides were decent with the exception of the pinto beans which had a scorched flavor. While I was eating several people around me were speaking highly of the fried chicken. Yes that’s right I said fried chicken at a BBQ place. If I ever find my way back here I will have to try the fried chicken. If you are looking for BBQ then you should keep looking this is not the place.

First off let me start off as in I LOVEBILLMILLER! This was a solitary experience at #55. I wasn’t gonna post a review but he is why. I ordered food and one of the bags had a bug in crawling around on my food inside of the bag. No big deal i hand the bag back and say can you please remake this and hold the bugs. Once again no biggie just want it to be remade no harm no foul. But the attitude i got from the manager was less than favorable. Giving me attitude about having to remake it and then verify that there was indeed a bug searching throughly to make sure of the said bug. They did remake it. Now mind you i didn’t ask for anything free and they did remake me a fresh one bug free but that was and even the apology made afterward seemed forced and not true customer service like. So i could have made a huge deal asked for the manager to rectify but i didnt. So for the manager at #55 next time a person just wants a simple remake for a bug incident please keep in mind the situation could have been made a whole lot worse. Try to be more customer service… after all i could made your day alot worse due to the bug… but with that being said… i will still go to bill millers i really enjoy this place… no hard feelings!

I’ve only eaten the chicken from here. I haven’t braved the bbq-It just hasn’t looked appealing. I love their chicken & green beans! I could just get the green beans and be set. They have a nice selection of desserts too. It’s a good choice for a quick sit down meal.

Nasty. This was my first and only trip to Texas so I was looking forward to «Texas BBQ». So nasty. I was in town for a business trip and neither I nor a coworker I was with could finish our food. Mushy and salty.

Always always always fresh! The best Bill Miller I’ve been to! I am obsessed with their sauce, not too thick yet not too thin. It goes perfect with their fresh tasty chicken tenders, also their sweet tea is on point. You should go to this location because it’s the best and they give you a side of sauce for FREE unlike other locations of Bill miller I have been to. And it’s always fast!

First barbecue place I tried since I moved here… not good. Tried the pork sandwich and sausage. The sandwiches came two to an order. Both on hamburger buns with what I can only describe as two tablespoons of pork on each. The sausage was ok. Staff was good enough but the food and serving size left me underwhelmed for sure.

Consistently the best Bill Millers! Flavor and quality of the food is consistent. No watery gravy!!! Super fast staff. And caring managers. We had issue with the tea not being flavorful and from then on perfection. No hit or miss from this fast food bbq

This place sucks for«bbq» what a joke! I went for a salad and it was horrible with rotten lettuce, I called to complain, talked with the GM, he was a dick to me, telling me to address him as Mr. Mexicano…WTF! and that he would send me a gift card, what ever dude… never got anything in the mail and when I called back 6 weeks later he said he sent it and that I was trying to scam him. take your gift card and your salad and shove it where the sun don’t shine buddy!

Good fast food barbecue and the inside is very clean and well decorated. The female cashier that handled me was very pleasant. I had left my card on the table and an honest employee stopped and chased me out the door to return it to me. I highly appreciate the service me and my boyfriend received and we will be back! I meant to write this for the one in new braunfels!

There is a reason Bill Miller Bar-B-Q has been around longer than I have. It’s tasty BBQ with delicious potato salad and rockin good cole slaw. I had the opportunity to run through the drive through this weekend. It’s the first time I have been to a Bill MIller’s in at least twenty years! I’m glad I went. The service was friendly and every single thing on that place was very good. I can’t speak for the interior of the place, but I have no problem recommending the food for a good daily BBQ.

I’m not a huge Bill Miller fan, so this is relative to other Bill Millers in the area. This place is on the ball as far as service goes. The drive thru gets packed, especially at breakfast time but they have it down to a science. As for the food — hey, it’s Bill Miller. What do you want?

Not bad for a highway BBQ stop. Quick too. The beef was a little tasteless, but the BBQ sauce was tasty(if a bit runny). The coleslaw was very good! Liked the ribs too. I think Rudy’s is better, but more expensive.

I realize I’m not a local, but this was terrible, both in terms of service and food. I’d gone to San Antonio to tourist around, and had forgotten to get lunch, so I stopped at this place on the way back to Austin. I really wish I hadn’t. Service was terrible, the person helping me at the counter didn’t seem to comprehend an order that wasn’t a combo meal, and we went back and forth for a few minutes as I tried to convey my order and they either didn’t understand or tried to upsell me. Not a language issue by any means, but ordering a basic plate fo one meat and two sides seemed to be incredibly difficult to convey. The brisket was incredibly dry and flaky, and had turned tough and brown on top, like it had sat out for quite some time. The coleslaw and beans were totally unappetizing. I had a bite or two of each item before deciding that I didn’t want to taste any more of it. The pecan pie was good, which was a mild saving grace, as it filled me up enough to get back to Austin and eat the leftovers in my fridge. I will not be back.

I tried checking in here yesterday, but realized it’s not on Unilocal. That’s crazy, because this location has been here for probably over 15 years. Bill Miller BBQ is an excellent quick-service BBQ joint and I’d also argue a San Antonio tradition. I used to go to this very location a lot with my family.(I remember in the 90’s when it was built and opened it was one of the only things at this corner, and we were very excited.) Today, given a choice between Dickie’s, Spring Creek BBQ, and Bill Miller, I’d go with Bill Miller every time. I wish they’d open one in Dallas. When I was a kid, I’d get what is now the #1(beef brisket poboy and fries), and sometimes I’ll get a slice of pie.(Their lemon meringue pie was the first lemon meringue pie I ever had.) In my recent trip to San Antonio, I got what I always got… and it was exactly like I remembered. The bun was a poppyseed bun, with the brisket just moist enough – not too moist to get too messy, and just moist enough to blend into the bun perfectly. It brought back memories from years gone by… I didn’t have a slice of pie(as trying to not eat so darn much and failing miserably), but if they were like they used to be, they were outstanding. Also, Bill Miller is known for their iced tea. It’s very good, and you can buy a huge vat-o-tea that you can get refilled constantly for cheap. However – important note – they typically assume you want SWEET tea. If you don’t like sweet tea(like me), make sure to specify UNsweet.
