Gill’s Ranch House Bar & Grill

It is now called Crawfish & Gill’s Cajun Ranch House. It is right next to Bussey’s Flea Market.
This place was closed for 6 months of renovations but is now OPEN AGAIN. Went here for the first time last night during lightning, rain, and hail storm. Live music was terrific. It’s a bar but all ages were well represented from 2 years to 70s. Jalapeño poppers were outstanding! 5 lbs crawfish boil came with 5 free beers! Can’t beat that. I’ll be back.

Love coming here, but it is never opened as advertised. :(Very frustrating. Had a large group planned to go here after the Air Show and when we arrived it was close.

Very nice and relaxed atmosphere. If you’re looking for a casual place and good food you can’t go wrong with this place. The brisket burger and grilled cheese were good but the homemade fries are excellent. On Fridays there is karaōke and the DJ starts to set up around 6. Music is loud so be aware but overall a good time.

Anytime everything is disposable (plates, forks, cups, etc) you know not to expect a whole hell of a lot. The mushrooms were overdone and the brisket sandwich was not at all tender. It was crunchy in fact. I had higher hopes going in but even my boyfriend was a little disappointed. We needed a a take out box and we were given foil to put the burger in.

I loved this place! Great burgers! Staff was so much fun!

First off, this is a bar. Just wanted to make that clear. I thought it was a restaurant based off the description, but the food I ate determined that this is, indeed, not a restaurant. I had wings that tasted like fry oil. No sauce, no seasoning, just oily wings. My wife must have accidentally ordered cold brisket tacos and wet fries, because that’s what she got. Service was on par with the food: lackluster, embarrassing, and practically a joke. If you want someone to hand you a beer from a cooler, this place is probably alright. If you’re expecting anything else, go anywhere else.

Great place to eat! We were at the flea market next door and decided to pop in. The burger I had was great, and my girlfriend said that her chicken sandwich was the same. Looks like it would be a great place to hang out on a Friday or Saturday night. Outside they have a stage, dance floor, and a bar.

Tried to go eat here, but found out they are closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Will have to try again during the weekend. I had to give a rating even though we didn’t eat here, will hopefully give a better rating next time.

The place must be closed? The phone number is disconnected and I can’t even find the building at the address listed where it would have been.

Fantastic brisket, and hands down — BEST. FRIES. EVER. Hand cut and done to order — OMG. Hot yummy fry goodness. We will be back.

Came here after an adventurous afternoon at Bussey’s flea market. Surprisingly, it wasn’t packed when we FIRST arrived on a Sunny Saturday afternoon. Our server was also the bartender. She was super helpful and explained their BYOL (liquor) policy and the difference between their wine based margaritas as opposed to tequila. Very interesting and informative.
We ordered 2 beers (They only have bottled beer. At least on the patio.) and fried mushrooms. When we got the mushrooms they were way to hot to eat, which is always hard to resist when you’re hungry. Our server noticed we weren’t eating after a few minutes and came to check on our table saying «Okay, you’re not eating. Talk to me!» I’ve never had a server that attentive and genuinely concerned about customers. She was a wonderful server! There was also a band that started playing when we got our check, so we stayed a few minutes longer. Any band covering Stevie Ray Vaughan earns an A+ from me.
Although I enjoyed most of our visit, there is a major critique I have for Gill’s employees. After we got our food, our server stopped checking on us, and there were no other servers making an effort to help her. There were at least 2 servers standing around while she made drinks for ALL the tables that filled up after we arrived. I would have given this place 5 stars if this didn’t happen. I believe our server’s name was Evelyn, and she was the hardest working employee there. She acknowledged how she had to neglect us due to her workload. I appreciated her apologetic attitude and mostly felt bad that she was the only one working hard for her tips. She needs a raise, or at least a high five!
This place isn’t too far from my house and based on my first experience, I envision many more trips here.

Good food and great people to hang out. Bike night on Thursday is great, cheap beer. I paid $ 3.00 for corona when I bought a bucket.

Well I never got to eat there I saw the owner yell at his bartender and made her cry in front of everyone. I have owned bars in the passed and I never in my life would talk to my staff like that. I’ll never go there ever again. Sad thing is my family loves that place. And they will never step foot in there again. I hope that girl finds a better place to work. It’s not her fault the cook was 30 mins late.

Took the fam there last weekend. Wife and I had burgers and they were delicious. Home patted patties and nicely toasted buns. My son had the chopped brisket sandwich and his only complaint was there was too much meat on the sandwich.
We will be going back soon.

Their menu item called «The Duke» is AMAZING! It’s a succulent chopped BBQ sandwich served with a side order of hand cut French fries! I’ve eaten this item numerous time & can’t get over how greAt it is. And the brisket tacos are super delish too! And how can you go wrong with beer served ice cold! Awesome atmosphere too!!! Definitely a must try place!!!

If you’re looking for a place that is friendly, comfortable, has good music, your favorite sport on TV, and you can take your dog — GILL’s is the place. Love it!
