This is the worst restaurant experience I think I may have ever had. I work in a very large, high volume restaurant, so I understand how stressful it is and how a full house can lead to some mishaps. I visited this place on super bowl Sunday and I expected it to be full and busy and I knew some delays would occur. My guests arrived before I did and finally when I did, it took about 20 mins for the waitress to arrive to even ask us for drinks which was a little much but I shrugged it off. Finally, she got us drinks and took our order. I placed an other for a well burger and had some modifications but she repeated everything back to me and it was fine. Our food took 40 mins to arrive which is when I started getting a little irritated. I noticed tables around us saw their servers much more often than ours and she never even came by to ask us how the food was it if anything was wrong until everyone was done and had sat for a while. Let me make this clear though: I STILLDIDNOTHAVEMYWELLBURGERATTHISPOINT. I told the food runner when he first delivered some food and then promised to check on it but never returned. I waited and waited and finally went to my server and tried to be understanding but I was getting quite frustrated. She told me that the kitchen was very backed up and she was trying to get my burger out of the window. So I went back and waited for another 20 mins and still no food. Everyone was long done by now and on their 3 round of drinks before I ever got my food. Afterwards, I approached her again with one of my guests and she was so flustered and hurried she said something I didn’t even understand and scurried off. We went back frustrated and ANOTHER15 – 20 mins passed and I finally went to a manager and asked him about it and he told me THEBURGERWASNEVEREVENMADE. I thought maybe it was still being done or pushed back when the server told me she was trying to push it out but it never even hit the grill. At this point, I was just angry. They didn’t even know what my order was and the manager retook my order and put it in. When I asked for a wait time, he just told me he would deliver it to me as soon as it came out but never gave me a time. About 12 minutes later, the food runner arrived with my order and it was half wrong. Only some of my modifications were honored even though I repeated them to the server and manager. At this point, I was so hungry, I didn’t even want to think about it. Later, the manager came by and asked if I was good, and I told him what was wrong and he seemed frustrated and irritated – imagined how I felt! Even after everything arrived, our server had still not checked on us or bothered to even ask me how I was doing. She was a young and seemingly inexperienced server, so I tried my best to not be pretentious or demanding but Jesus, the service was nonexistent almost, the kitchen was disorganized, not to mention the damage control by management. They tried to give us a complimentary dish as damage control but what really killed me was after I told the manager the burger was wrong is when he decided to take care of it on my bill. Like, after this whole frustrating ordeal, you were still gonna charge me for a burger that took ages to arrive even if I liked it?! In my restaurant, if a table waits an hour even for their meals, the check is on us. I waited over 2 hours for my food and it was still wrong and you think a free appetizer and discount is gonna solve all my problems?! The worst part is the lack of control skills by managers and servers; I never even heard one actually apology for the wait or the order, no one ever bothered to keep us informed about our order or make sure we were taken care of. We had to hunt down people to get the most basic service in a place where I’m supposed to tip for being taken care of? Unbelievable experience, certainly never returning, neither are my guests or even their associates. Volume shouldn’t be an excuse for the most basic services. STAYAWAY.

The food here was actually really good. I placed a delivery order for around 100 bucks a few weeks back. But tonight when I placed the order, the dolts who work in the kitchen didn’t bother to make any of my food because they were out of a couple small items. So eat24 had the unpleasant business of telling me that even though I placed my order way before the kitchen closed, the goofballs didn’t bother to figure out they were out of a couple items until it was almost kitchen closing time. But hey they’ve already charged me. So I am here with no dinner and am livid. Really good way to lose a devoted customer.

Best food and atmosphere! Best in Silver Springs. I will definitely return. Had the chicken pita with brussel sprouts.

Had an awesome time ha ogling within my brother and friends. The atmosphere is nice and laid back. Though the lamps above you keep you extra warm when drinking. Egg rolls are divine! They need more help, it wasn’t crowded but there was one server for the entire restaurant and she’s was trying too keep as best she could.

The service was poor. The bartender greeted us quickly, but was slow to do anything after that. The drinks were weak and the grits that came with the andouille sausage, shrimp and grits were extremely watery. There were only 3 pieces of sausage in my plate though the other guest had several. The dish had potential to be flavorful, but the texture of the grid killed it. I will not be returning.

I went here last night for drinks and we decided to sit at a table instead of the bar. A female server came over to us and told us the section was closed and we had to order at the bar. She was extremely rude and short, we weren’t greeted and as we proceeded to call after her, she ignored us and kept walking away. I didn’t have my ID on me so the bartender refused to serve me although I saw her pouring drinks for others that weren’t carded. I gave them 2 stars because I’ve been here in the past with better experiences. This was probably just not a good night but customer service should always be consistent.

I went there for the first time on a Saturday evening and thought it was a very nice place. I sat at the bar by myself and ordered a beer, burger and fries. The food was definitely above average, the bartender was friendly and the service and atmosphere were good. My only criticism — and maybe it’s just me – they keep your credit card in a jar by the register when you run a tab at the bar. I kept worrying they were going to give mine to someone else by mistake. One suggestion — they need a list of beers and spirits with prices for customers to look at when ordering.

This place is great. The music is bomb and its a great place to chill and drink. I am definitely coming back for sure. The food looks amazing– I would have ordered something but I already ate lol. Antonio is awesome. This place is nice and very clean! All bartenders were nice and attentive. The music is current and you can definitely get your little groove on. I’m glad me and my girls found this place. We will definitely visit again. Highly recommended!!!

Experienced brunch a couple weeks ago. As you’ve probably read, service at Mix is the weakest link. My party of three was not spared that. We arrived soon after opening so there were hardly any other diners present. Nevertheless, we were escorted to our table by a hostess who gave off a vibe that said she’d rather be anywhere else than at Mix that morning. Zero engagement. To make it worse, she left us with just two menus. Frustrating. Our server was affable but inattentive. Once he had another two tables to wait on, he seemed to find refuge by the bar and the cash register where he would spend a whole lot of time when we needed him. The other tables experienced this as well. As far as food and drinks, I give Mix a thumbs up. My Bloody Mary was excellent. Made the way I like them, full of horseradish. I started with six grilled oysters. Very, very good! Fried chicken and waffles was pretty darn good. The chicken was crispy with good flavor and not greasy. The waffle was a little underdone to my taste, but overall it was a solid effort. My friends enjoyed the shrimp and grits as well as the smoked salmon potato hash. Looking forward to a return visit to try the lomo saltado. Also, the long bar and copious amount of large flat screen TVs make Mix a great place to catch a game. But they definitely need a menu of bar food. Excellent beer selection on draft. Big bottle selection too, including my favorite: Blue Point Brewing’s Toasted Lager.

What a fun bar 20 beers on tap and one of them being Palm make me a happy lad. As for the food it’s really good I loved the steak and cheese spring rolls the spicy mustard with the sweet chili sauce brings it together. I had the Caesar salad with the Lomo saltado stir fried beef as the protein«not on the menu but the chef was kind enuf to make this happen» .Christian was my bartender very nice and knowledgeable.

I went on a Friday afternoon looking for lunch. It was Silver Spring Restaurant Week and I hoped to catch a deal. I had never eaten at Mix before. I arrived at approximately 2:45 in the afternoon — the tables were all empty but there were people sitting at the bar. When I walked in, I walked toward the tables though there was no indication of a hostess. One of the staff guided me to sit wherever I wanted — since I was alone, I chose a table. Within a short while, I had the menu — but no mention of Restaurant Week deals(I later learned that I came in during the shift change) despite the sign plastered on the door indicating their availability. The waitress came to the table quickly, took my drink order(The Cherry Blossom) and gave me time to peruse the meals. I chose the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. The drink came quickly, but after a while it seemed obvious my food was not coming. I wouldn’t think it would take long to cook the chicken and put together the sandwich. Eventually, the waitress came to check on me(I having nearly finished my drink) and checked whether my order had been taken — the order I had put in 15 – 20 minutes earlier. She went to the kitchen to check on the food; I ordered another drink as I waited. The food arrived nearly 50 minutes after I ordered. Luckily, the waitress kept checking on me, reassuring me the food was coming and refilling my water glass. I scarfed down most of the food(the pile of fries that came with the chicken were far too many for one person), declined any other food offers and paid the check. Luckily, paying was the quickest part of the experience. The food tasted fine to me, but nothing to write home about. The service wasn’t that good — too slow and I may have been forgotten about despite the fact I was one of the very few people in the restaurant. That being said, they haven’t been open all that long. But they need some massive improvement. My waitress was friendly enough and helpful, but I never did find out what caused the food delay. Another staff member(the manager?) also checked-in on me. If you do come for the food, allot plenty of time. For one person to eat on a Friday afternoon, it took approximately 1 ¼ hours from arriving to leaving. I should also note that the restaurant as a whole looks gorgeous, yet minimalist in certain aspects(floor and ceiling) — similar to A.G. Kitchen. Another plus was that my timing was a period of minimal noise in the restaurant. One final note: If the restaurant decides to participate in Restaurant Week, they need to make the deals more clear and clarify what times the lunch and dinner deals are in effect. That being said, drinks aside, what I ordered was cheaper than the RW offers.

We went to Mix on a whim on a Thursday night for dinner with friends. I agree with many of the statements already made but here are my 5cents: — Service super slow(10 minutes for a glass of water) — Server needs training(does not know the menu) — AC blasting(we re-seated 2x) — White wine took another 10 minutes and was warm — Portions way to small(1 stuffed pork chop bone in, a bit of asparagus, a small square of potatoes au gratin) just as an example. Other foods we had were equally small and expensive for what they served. — Well and then another at least 10 minutes for the check!!! really Positive comments: — food is not bad but not great — nice layout of the bar/restaurant That’s we would NOT go back: During our dinner a game came on, and away went the great restaurant ambiance and music. The speaker went up significantly to hear/watch the game. Needless to say that put an end to any dinner conversation. Mix I believe you can’t have it all. Are you a sports bar or restaurant or a mix?!? not a successful one if you ask me.

I really really Liked this place. I will tell you at the very end of my review why it gets such a low rating and why I will never be back. I went to this place about two weeks ago on a Wednesday or Thursday around 5 or 6 with a friend. When you walk in, there is a bar to the immediate left with lots of TV’s so I say to myself, «my friend brought me to a sports bar… no biggie» But when we step around the corner, there’s a big open flooring plan that looks very hipster chic. Very nice décor, the booth seats had decorative pillows for goodness sake! We are seated and are the only ones at a table, there are a few people at the bar. We take a look at the menu and I instantly think, Asian american fusion. The waiter comes over immediately and starts us with water and appetizer and few highlights of the menu. cool. We order a jalapeño tequila drink, and some Raspberry vodka drink. Both were very refreshing, but neither very strong. We decide to create our own sort of tasting menu from the appetizers. We tried the grilled calamari, the lump crab dip, ahi tuna tacos, lemongrass crispy shrimp, and brussels sprouts side. lol Weird combo I know. the calamari was good, different since we are always use to eating it fried. the crab dip was amazing, as were the tuna tacos. the crispy shrimp were only. ok and they brought you out like…3. Brussels sprouts were pretty good. We ordered a second round of drinks and asked that they be made stronger, and they actually were which is nice. The website says american bistro, but I could’ve swore the menu said something about asian fusion. Anyway, food was pretty good, drinks got better, service was good. I would’ve given them a solid 4 stars. We pay our check and go to use the restroom before we leave. The ladies restroom is nice. Cute little stones in the sink and all. I wash my hands and dry them with a paper towel that I also use to open the bathroom door(can’t do germs) I turn to throw the paper towel away with the door propped open with my foot. when I turn back around to walk out a brown fury creature stops mid run for a half a second and dashes off towards the kitchen. I immediately close the door, press my back against it and collect myself so I don’t scream,(i’m such a girl lol) deep breaths. I fix my face and calmly walk out the door checking my footing. My friend exits the male restroom around that time and I fast pace walk him to the door mumbling good buys and thanks to the staff. We step outside and I consider telling him what I just saw, but I think I’m a little in shock because I’ve already eaten and drank everything they had to offer. I decide not to say anything. SO there you go. a 4 to a 1. Also, my friend wouldn’t stop ranting about the fact that the male restroom doesn’t have actual stalls lol. Just two urinals and a toilet covered up by a very shear see through black curtain lol. FYI-no number 2 for you. lol

Came back for happy hour and I was fairly disappointed. There’s $ 5 rail drinks and a few food specials. We got the lemongrass shrimp — three fried lemongrass shrimps with ponzu sauce. Three. For $ 8! I thought that was a bit overpriced for the amount of food you get. You can get an amazing burger and fries for $ 12 across the street, so in my opinion the shrimp was not worth it. There are other items on the food menu which would’ve been better but not sure if I would come back. Other drink specials include Cuervo, Smirnoff and Jim beam — not too shabby for only $ 5(btw happy hour is 5 – 7)!

I’ve been eyeing this spot for awhile … from construction to finish. I was excited at the opportunity to dine here with my friends … I’ve been hearing about their signature cocktails. We sat at the bar. My feedback — the food is in need of some good olé’ seasoning … even with the basic like salt and black pepper. I was so disappointed — it was VERY bland. Their cocktails are very delicious — you won’t be disappointed with their selections. Great ambience. Friendly staff. However, I would ENCOURAGE management to make sure their staff taste all of their dishes. I had many questions about the menu, and the bartender was unable to tell me her point of view or preference because she never tasted most of the items. That was odd! I was also disappointed in the small portion of my salmon entrée — kiddie portions — especially for the price I paid. The entrees are quiet pricey for the Silver Spring area, especially if you feel you are not getting a comparable portion of food. Will I go back? Yes, but it will be for the ambience, their cocktails and late happy hour menu.

Ok so this place has so much potential considering its location and décor. But at this very moment I hate to report that it is somewhat a failure. First, I think there is some confusion around whether this is a sports bar, restaurant, or a club. I think its suppose to be a restaurant due to the variety of the menu, which is disappointing because the food is pretty tasteless. My friend and i tried the lemongrass shrimp(4 shrimp with zero flavor and overpriced at $ 10IMO), the crab dip(mostly cream, very light on the crab), duck fat fries(actually really good), and the tomato mozzarella and basil flatbread. The flatbread looked amazing! I was so excited to eat it. But unfortunately, it literally had NO flavor. It was almost as if the chef just put cheese, sliced tomato, and basil on bread. No olive oil or spices. I ended up complaining to the manager who was extremely pleasant and willing to rectify the situation. He made me a pesto and shrimp pizza to go. Another epic fail. But thankfully I was home where I could doctor up the pizza. The cocktails are just ok. I found the Raspberry(something i forgot the name) to taste as if it didnt have any alcohol. I know this is a new establishment and many restaurants go through a trail period where they are still trying to get it together. Perhaps this is the case. I hope for them it is.

Mix. Kinda confusing when you look at the big picture, looks like a club, has big screens like a sports bar, but then it’s a restaurant with some pretty good food. I was surprised by . It has some tasty items along with some interesting pizza. But with all. these screens, where are the wings? I had the shrimp«egg rolls» and some short rib pizza and both were good. 3. stars because of.the.food presentation, flavor, and.quality. Cons: The staff really needs some training. I sat at the bar for ten minutes without being approached on a weekday evening with only 6 other people at a 40ft bar. Not once was I given a glass of water. Not offered a menu, and had to waive down one of the 7 people walking around the bar who weren’t even doing anythung. Too many staff members with nothing to do is never a good look. When I asked for my tab I waited another ten minutes to get it. The air conditioning was on so hard it blew my napkins everywhere and was a little annoying. I love ac and crisp cold air but it doesn’t need to be blasting unless the place is full of people. Clean place. I like that. Staff needs work. Food is good but I hope they can maintain it. My advice to them, get rid of the cheesy blue lights. Train your staff. Keep the kitchen strong. Just feels like it’s lacking soul and a real concept. I wish them the best.

I stopped by Mix Bar and Grille tonight around 11pm with the intention of having drinks and a few appetizers. Unfortunately, my companion and I were told that the kitchen was closed. I was disappointed because I was looking forward to enjoying the late night happy hour from 9pm to 11:30pm that was advertised on the website. Unfortunately, the bartender knew nothing about a late night happy hour. My friend and I each ordered a beverage — Tito’s Raspberry Mule for me and a Blood Orange Bourbon Cocktail for my friend. The Bourbon drink was the clear winner. I don’t know who Tito is, but his take on a Moscow Mule just didn’t work. My Raspberry mule tasted like a fruity cocktail that was devoid of alcohol. Service at the bar was slow and laid back. The bartenders weren’t knowledgeable about the menu, which was unfortunate because that insight could have prevented me from ordering a sucky drink. The restaurant was empty of a Friday night, but the restaurant’s only been open for three days so perhaps people haven’t found out about it yet. This restaurant’s biggest draw is the plethora of flatscreen TVs that are hanging behind the bar. This will definitely be a great place to watch the game on TV. I look forward to returning to this restaurant to sample the food. Hopefully they’ll add the nightly happy hour to the rotation. That could give this place an edge amongst the other more established restaurants on the same block.
