Great happy hour snack options! Food is really good with substantial portions that are wonderful for leftovers. I also love their bread!

The previous review was on a crowded night in the bar. Tried again and happy to say it was much better. The crowd was lighter, service better, and the meals/drinks delicious.

I went here for the first time with my family. It is such a cute hidden gem in DT Silver Spring that I didn’t know about before. I actually found it through Unilocal thanks to all the reviews and photos. I reserved a table just in case and thank goodness because it is a tiny hole in the wall. RESERVE A TABLE. It will help so you don’t have a long wait and definitely can’t hurt. We ordered Salmon Mango, Cheese Lasagna, Mushroom Gnocchi, and Eggplant Parmesan. Everything was very tasty. The salmon mango had a good spicy kick to it. The gnocchi was made with many delicious wild mushrooms but I will say I wish the actual gnocchi was more bite size because they did seem too large for one bite. Cheese lasagna and eggplant parm(with penne pasta) tasted the way they should. We also had some drinks: peach martini(very sweet and peachy), margaritas(basic margarita flavor and good strong amount of tequila).

I came here for my graduation with my family! Very cute place, intimate front area with a larger back area. I had lasagne which was delicious! Good sized portions, breads and salads. The Martini list looked wonderful, but my table stuck to wine. I’d skip on the fudge brownie, which was a little dry. Our waitress Maddy was adorable and took care of our table with ease

I think the food here is pretty good. Their service is exceptional and they make you feel right at home. I love Italian food and this is a nice spot in Silver Spring.

I went here for dinner last night with my BF for the first time and we absolutely loved it! The service was great and the dinning is intimate. Everything that was brought out to us was fresh from the salad, to the pasta dishes we ordered and the tiramisu. This is going to be one of my local favorite restaurants to take friends and have dinner out for two. Cant wait to go back :)

From out of town stopped in here for dinner. We brought a child with us and even though they say kid friendly and do have a kids menu I wouldn’t bring children here. Food and service was great though!

Being from Jersey, I am particular about my Italian food. While this place isn’t as good as Libretti’s in Orange or Miele’s in Verona, it’s not bad at all. I had the shrimp and crab meat dish with a French martini… yum!

If you want solid Italian food, come here! They have all your classic dishes, but also delicious specials. I haven’t had a dish I didn’t like here. Nothing fancy, but hits the spot when you’re craving Italian!

Yet to disappoint! I’ve been to this location a few times on Thursdays, Friday’s & Saturday’s. The ambiance is very romantic and intimate. I’ve always had good service. Quick, attentive & friendly. I’ve had the salmon, fettuccini, Tortellini & dessert(salt gelato). They were all delicious. I highly recommend this place for date night.

I decided to drop into Olazzos on Tuesday, martini night. I tried the special menu for restaurant week and, per usual, I was not disappointed. I had the lamb chops with potatoes and sautéed spinach. Delightful. The food, atmosphere, and customer service are never lacking. The best dishes are the shrimp pesto and Alla Checca(sp)with shrimp. Love Olazzos!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in the area. I’ve been going for five years and have probably ordered over 10 dishes. Each one, better than the rest. My go tos are Italian wedding soup, meatball sliders, chicken cardinale, shrimp rose and goat cheese and walnut salad depending on the time of year. Fresh bread is served with every dinner and lunch meal(oil upon request). The staff has always been delightful and I have yet to run into any issues. *hope I didn’t just jinx myself*. The staff all have familiar faces and seem to have been around for a while. The vibe is very quaint and cultured. Olazzo is like a mom and pop family owned restaurant amongst a slew of mediocre neighbors. The lunch portions are big enough for two meals and don’t vary in size all that much from dinner. On some nights there is half priced and the place gets pretty packed in evening. To my knowledge the Olazzo is not open on Monday, at least for lunch, which has proven to be a disappointment a few times. It’s kind of like wanting chickfila on Sunday. The place is shmedium priced. If you order a drink and meal at lunch you usually will not leave without paying $ 20 all in. But again, worth it. If any joint deserves a 5-star rating, it’s them. Already thinking about my next visit…

We’d forgotten how good the food is here! We had the shrimp and crab rose penne pasta and the spinach and mushroom tortellini. Both dishes had wonderful combination of tastes. With inexpensive wines by the glass, the charming upstairs room, and attentive and cordial service, this was sweet indeed.

I went here for dinner a few months ago and just cooled down enough to write a reasonable review. I will say the place has killer atmosphere and the service was passable. The food though, not so much. I ordered the mozzarella neapolitan(caprese but with red peppers as well) to start – hubs skipped right to ordering the lasagne. The salad comes out first and the tomatoes were nearly white, tough, and had zero flavor. They were stacked on the plate(the«neapolitan») along with lots of oil and a bit of balsamic reduction, roasted red peppers, and a skimpy pinch of basil. No salt, no flavor whatsoever. And, in the middle of August there’s no excuse for tomatoes that anemic. I was ready to stop then, but decided to try something cooked to give things a fair shake. I ordered the minestrone. Same thing, no seasoning, mushy veggies, blech. Hubs lasagne consisted of two wide noodles cooked to near disintegration, canned-tasting tomatoes, and gloppy cheese. We sent back the caprese, picked at our«entrees» and then left for the rest of our evening(which included making dinner at home). Maybe this is a steak place, or a seafood joint, I know the martinis look wonderful. But food, yes even veggie food, shouldn’t be served if it’s that poor.

Some might read this review and say«dang this girl drank some haterade»…but low key drinking haterade may have tasted better than this food. Super disappointed. I had a huge craving for chicken parmagiana so I left it up to my boyfriend to find a new spot for us to order pick-up. Now, I am from NY which has tons of awesome Italian joints so I made sure that I didn’t set my expectations too high because it wasn’t going to equal what I find in NY. Ordering over the phone… easy. I did ask the person over the phone if the Garlic Cheese bread would still be good after a 15-min drive back to DC and she said that she’s driven longer and the bread was still warm. Ok. The Garlic Bread with cheese. $ 7?!? But, I had the craving so I went for it. TERRBILE. Oh, the bread was still warm when we got home but I think it literally was a drizzle of olive oil, chopped up garlic and a light sprinkle of mozzarella. If I am paying $ 7, I expect an overly decadent garlicky and cheesy bread. This bread needed so much more to be great taste wise! Chicken Parm came with penne, side salad and bread. The bread was fresh, warm and crusty on the outside. Side salad was lettuce, 2 thin rings of red onion and a thick cut slice of cucumber… wow…are you really calling that a salad? The penne was undercooked and the sauce tasted like a can of San Marzano tomatoes with not a lick of seasoning… can I get a little garlic or oregano or I mean even pepper. Something other than this bland sauce that they sparingly put on the pasta. The Chicken Parm did have some seasoning but the coating fell right off. My boyfriend ordered the Baked Penne. It was overly dry with very little sauce. The same sauce from the Chicken Parm. They were also very stingy with the meat. For what I think was $ 16…it definitely was a lunch size portion. This place was the hugest disappointment. They have 2 locations so I am assuming they can’t be as bad as my experience. Or maybe they had a new chef that night. Either way, I won’t be trying this place again unless there was like a 75% off Groupon/LivingSocial deal and I tried something different. I was going to give them 1-star but as I mentioned, it was easy to order over the phone, the girl was pleasant, the food was ready in the timeframe given and they used fresh bread. But, let’s face it… I didn’t pay over $ 40 for bread that I could have gotten from Panera Bread for $ 5.

Some of the best Italian in the area and probably one of the few places I’d give a 5 in Silver Spring. The lasagna and the gnocchi are to die for! Great for dates, small events, and they are willing to help you if you’d like to have a private party there.

Found some items I really liked here on their menu. We started with the calamari. Pieces were large and there was a fair amount of breading. Solid calamari dish. I went with the spinach and roasted garlic tortellini. I’m not huge about the dates mixed in, but it was still magnificent. Great recommendation by the waitress. My friend went with the shrimp and crab rose– also a very tasty dish. I preferred mine though. I tend to shy away from tomato based sauces. Our waitress gave us great advice, and was very quick with our drinks. Olazzo is also nice because it has a few tables for outdoor seating on beautiful days.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Olazzo, how I love thee. I was on my way to another restaurant and saw the Olazzo awning and parked immediately. I usually frequent the Bethesda location. I had no idea there was one in Silver Spring. God loves me! LOL Small, quaint, and romantic restaurant, just like its sister location. I ordered the special, stuffed shrimp w/lump crab over sundried tomato spaghettini. Nom nom nom! Just as delicious. Nice sized portions. Great friendly service. Reasonable prices. You won’t be disappointed. Eat up! Cheers!

I finally got around to trying Olazzo after reading Unilocal reviews raving about it and it did not disappoint! Tip: definitely make a reservation if you’re coming on a weekend night. My boyfriend and I came on a Saturday around 630 and had to wait about 45 minutes. The restaurant is fairly small, but the hostesses are great and they can even take your phone number and call you when they’re ready so you can check out downtown Silver Spring while you wait. Olazzo is known for their Martinis and I enjoyed mine! They’re a bit pricey but STRONG so you really don’t need more than one or two. Sit at the bar while you wait for your table and order some drinks. I had the Brooklyn then the Olazzo which were great. As soon as you’re seated, they bring out ciabatta and olive oil with balsamic vinegar but definitely spring for the arancini. They were deliciously crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, plus the marinara dipping sauce is great. For entrees, I had the chicken cardinale and my boyfriend had crab and lobster rose. As far as the chicken cardinale, I thought the chicken would have been better as a breaded breast instead of cubed because it was a bit chewy and difficult to find. But otherwise, the sauce was delicious and the pasta was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend loved his dish, saying the shrimp and crab proportions were substantial and the sauce was creamy and delicious. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is wonderful. The front room seemed a bit louder and crowded but the back room is prime date night material. Olazzo, I’ll definitely be back.

Booked on Open Table and I was pleased to be shown to a table right when I arrived even though the traffic was lighter than expected and so I was early. Tip: The Wayne Avenue Garage isn’t far away if you can’t find a spot on the street. A few beers on tap, I started with the Moretti La Rossa and switched to a 312 later in my meal. I opted not to have a starter today since the bread was good and the entrée came with a salad. Big bowl overfilled with olive oil and a bit of balsamic for dipping.(Why so much?) My entrée arrived — the lasagna bolognaise with a meatball on the side.(I’ve been craving meatballs lately.) The meatball was cold as was the marinara sauce. Maybe that was the intent? Either way, it was deliciously tasty. The lasagna on the other hand was piping hot. A good portion in a metal skillet with plenty of pasta, cheese, meat and sausage. Quite tasty once it cooled down enough to enjoy. My waitress was friendly enough and she had the sincere smile down pat but she had way too many tables to juggle. A couple inside and a couple outside. This made the service a little scattered, such as when a helper brought me a second beer which was not the one I had ordered. Oh, well. A weeknight in a busy restaurant, I guess that’s okay.

Must go!!! Unbedingt ausprobieren… Und zudem lohnt sich alleine der Esspresso
