CLOSED! Just a few short months ago, we had FIVE frozen yogurt places in the immediate area. Now we are down to two. Yogurt Fantazy in Avon closed, but that was no surprise. Then Sweet Frog closed and that was pretty surprising. Tonight we learned that TCBY had also closed, and that was a total shock because we were there just about two or three weeks ago and they were open. The signage is down, the windows are clouded over and a sign in the door says they have combined operations with their nearby Bloomfield store.

Our favorite yogurt shop. The grapefruit has a sparkly citrus flavor. The other options are creamy and tasty. The service is attentive and the place is well-maintained.

Love the yogurt here. The service is awesome as well. They give you as many samples as you want. Also, there are always coupons for this place. The grapefruit sorbet is absolutely amazing.

What can I say? The best frozen yogurt I’ve ever had. The mountain BlackBerry, and just a plain old coffee, is unbeatable. If anybody in the bay area ever find themselves in Connecticut and happen to be in the Avon area, be sure to stop by. Price is cheap as well.

I love TCBY! Self-serve and endless toppings. I love that you can get just the amount you want rather than fixed sized. Oh, and it’s delicious!

How to review this place… as a parent, or as the child? Because my kids would give it 6, 7, 8, even 20 stars if they could. They love going here and mixing their own huge bowls of tasty«froyo» with all kinds of crazy toppings(gummy worms, peanut butter cups, etc.). As a parent, I more or less dread a visit, knowing that we’ll be running a gauntlet of lines, crowds and hordes of small children… it’s kind of the Simsbury version of Chucky Cheese. But hey, sometimes you gotta suck it up for your kids’ sake.

I am a huge Pinkberry fan. Of course frozen yogurt joints around these parts are few and far between. So far, I’ve been twice and gotten different flavors and not been disappointed. The plain vanilla is fabulous and almost on par with Pinkberry’s original. I like how its self-serve although everytime I’ve been the place has been mobbed. Once the appeal wears off and the cold weather sets in, the crowds should be less insane. They really need to make the topping bar two sided — right now, staff chases you away if you go behind. First of all, it’s SUPER awkward to reach three rows back to reach something way in the back. Second of all, it would make the lines less ridiculous. The staff is very helpful at explaining the process to first timers and they are happy to provide you with a little sample if you can’t decide on flavors. 49 cents an ounce… eh I wish they had set price points, especially since they have 2 sizes of cups — huge and inhumane. However, it’s not too exorbitant. My only complaint is that they need to set up shop in Torrington, I don’t feel like driving 25 minutes every time I get a froyo pang :)

I love this place. It is nice to have a frozen yogurt shop around for a healthier alternative to ice cream. It is set up as a serve yourself. There are little pump stations for your yogurt flavor that you put in your cup. After that you move over to the toppings that range from oreo or brownie bits to marshmallow and chocolate sauce. After that it gets weighed and you pay based upon that. Each day has a different way for you to get a discount, i.e. if you guess to the nearest .2 ounces of your yogurt weight, sing a song from glee, etc. The thing that is difficult is the set up. The store is narrow so when a line fills, there is no moving quickly. Also, right in front of the pump stations is the coolest beverage machine. It mixes water and different syrups to give you pretty much any soda. My husband was fascinated. The people working there are very friendly and helpful.

TCBY is now self service. First you fill your own dish with frozen yogurt and then you add the toppings. I guess folks are coming from all over to go to TCBY. The staff is nice and helpful when explaining the process. The store is brand new. It is .49 cents an ounce. It adds up quickly !

It’s been about 3 months since I’ve last had frozen yogurt. Last time I had some was when I was living in San Diego. Frozen yogurt shops in CT were non-existent to me until I found out about this place. It’s a nice little spot, reminds me of Yogurtland. I like how they have different specials everyday which I guess makes you want to come back. I’m only basing this review on what I have experienced so far. The cost is 51 cents an ounce, which I think is outrageous. Especially, since I’m used to paying at most 38 cents an ounce. However, I can’t really blame them as the froyo market isn’t really big yet here in CT. Flavors were pretty good for the most part. Although, I wish they had more fruit flavors. They had too many creamy flavors. Selection of toppings were good, I’m really glad they actually had mochi. YUM! What I had a really good laugh at, is that you do have the option to get a «free» waffle cone inside your cup. They claim to not charge… but when you think about it. they do… cause it all goes by weight, so you ARE still getting charged for that waffle cone that they say is «free» Overall, It’s a good experience. Can’t complain too much. There’s a Pinkberry opening up in Blue Black Square pretty soon. Can’t wait for that! PROS: –Clean store –Daily specials –Plenty of flavors and toppings CONS: –Too costly from what I’m used to –Needs to figure out how to get people in and out faster
